Hello everyone!
I bought a new P6 two weeks ago and even though I do not have any voice mail service activated, I am still getting those messages about new voice mail. You can check this message underneath. If it would be possible i would upload screen of my issue, but it is not ;/
Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it?
Thanks.

Pull down the notification bar hold the voicemail and it should pop up with the app, force close it. until you listen to the voice mail it will keep popping up every time your phones turns on
The thing is, I don't have any voice mail service activated so there is no mail to listen to.
Anyway thanks for replying

Wow thats weird, Try disabling it in the messages settings
Can not see any settings that would be responsible for voice mail...

hey I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this yet, as I can't find any info about this in any forum so far:
Whenever I flash a rom, this issue doesn't show up right away, but it always does, regardless of phone or build. Currently every sms message I send is stuck in a "sending" status on my device. The recipient always gets the message, but my phone thinks that it hasn't been sent. So, whenever I reboot my phone, if I haven't cleared all of my threads, my phone will resend every sent message on my phone. If I flash the same rom on top of itself, it goes away for a few more days, but it always comes back. Again, this is regardless of rom and even phone (D1, Eris, fascinate, DX, and incredible). Does anyone know what could be causing this? At the very least if someone could direct me to the property place to ask this question, I'd appreciate it.

What email account is this happening with?
If its over many phones it could be a problem with the towers around you, try calling verizon about it but get to the to the top of tech support

I don't think it's a tower issue. When I send a message, in handcent there is s spinning wheel next to the message until the phone registers the message as "sent". this happens in it's own way across any and all sms apps on my phone. If I create and send the message in the stock messages app, it will show as sending in my other app and vice-versa. For the record, I have tried this with handcent, chomp sms and go sms.

This definitely sounds like a network issue. Have you tried sending a sms with a "dumb phone" and see if you have the same problem?

No, I haven't. I'll try it tonight when I get home from work. I sent a text to myself last night to test, and while it got to me immediately, it sent itself again 4 hours later. I'm not sure if that means anything significant or not but I'll try using another phone tonight.

This was a known issue with some phones and some SMS/MMS clients. Handcent implemented a fix, not sure about other clients. See this post in android forums for implementing the fix: http://androidforums.com/android-ap...on-without-resending-old-sms.html#post2136469

Thanks for this info!! I'm currently trying go sms again jaded on a reply in that thread, which seems to be working. I want to try the handcent fix, but I don't feel like taking the time to see how well consistently it works and risk text bombing people again. Hopefully some better themes start popping up

This was an issue that was very irritating on the Nexus S, and it appears that the problem is still present in this Nexus. It seems that there is no audible alert to notify you of a text message while you are in a call. Basically if you don't just happen to check your screen then you won't see that you have a text message while you're in a call. The only other way around this is to use 3rd part text messaging software (which I really don't want to do). It would be nice if they addressed this in a future update, though I'm not hopeful they will, considering the same problem was present in the Nexus S.
I posted this issue in the google support forums. Hopefully it can get a little bit of attention.

I have not received mine yet, but the galaxy s 2 has a setting to change this. I don't know if the nexus has this also, but ill share just in case.
Settings>Call>Call Alerts>Alerts on call
Let me know if the settings menu is the same.

No, this setting does not exist in the Galaxy Nexus. I've posted this on the Google Support forum, the more people that post on it, perhaps the sooner Google will get this rectified.
The OP is correct, noticed it myself. Im not sure how i feel about it yet, just wanted to point out that it doesnt alert.

Well I know how I felt about it when I had been on the phone for an hour with my lady and I just happened to want to send someone a message, and I picked up my phone to notice I had a text message that had been there for about 45 minutes that was regarding some money.....I wasn't thrilled about it lol. The same issue was present on the Nexus S and I had to use Handcent so that I could have audible text messages during calls. I don't really want to do that again, as I actually like sms client in ICS. Hopefully Google makes the change if we make sure they know about it, hence the support post in the google forums I linked to.
Can a rom be altered to include a notification setting for "sent mail", or does this feature have to be built in to the original (stock) phone settings?
P.S. I'm not talking about GoSMS, or any other app, but something that's built into the settings. Thank you for any answer.
What do you mean for sent mail? Like whenever you send an email it plays a notification sound? I don't see why you would even want this as you would know its being sent by hitting the send button, but yes it is possible I guess.

It's the only feature, from my iPhone days, that i miss. I wanted to hear that sound whenever i sent out an email or a text. As my wife says..Simple things, please simple minds.LOL:silly:

Usually it's the apn settings. Double check them.

All is well. Still not working and tomorrow I'm going on vacation /
Sms is managed by the messenger app, or by Google hangouts. Try deleting data and cache for these apps, and start with messenger to send an sms.
Do not think that messenger is the same as Facebook messenger. It is native to android, but maybe named different in ZenUI.

Check in messages settings the message centre number for your carrier.,had this problem on another device not on zen tho and message centre number was wrong, usually with a recognised device your carrier sends messages to update these settings to configure if i switch sim to a sammy for instance .
In my case, only a factory reset got rid of this problem.
