Comparing it with S3 since they are competing.
Is it much faster than One X or wont it make a big differents?
I still have to get my One X so I wanted to know, how long is the battery life with you guys?
Also, the S3's battery is better than the One X. Will it make a huge differences?
And my last question, What are the things you don't like about the One X?

One X looks amazing n s3 looks awful..
One X has a 12 core gpu n s3 a quad core..
Screen of One X is RGB IPS n s3 has the same cheap pentile..
One X has a companion core for battery saving n s3 has nothing like this..
One X has a separate processor for camera n s3 doesn't..
So who rules here man..One X is the daddy of all..

Yeah I was worrying about the battery but I forgot the ninja core of the One X
I haven't tried the s3, but I have found some cool things that the normal smartphone can't do.
The One X with it's dedicated image processor, called Image Sense, can shoot photos while recording full HD videos.
It shoots 720p slow-mo super smoothly. And very slow.
It can also take pic after pic, (like the spies) quicker than one can blink their eye's.
It's all scratch proof, YouTube HTC one X scratch test.
That's just a few things I have managed to figure out.
In terms of speed, S3 must be faster than One X on benchmark result.
However, I like the build of One X more than stylish then S3.
For the battery life issue, companion core in T3 saves a lot of battery in standby mode. I don't know if such feature also available in S3 (maybe no, so the battery capacity is larger?!). However, when you are actually using HOX, the battery drains quite fast.
What I don't like S3 for another reason is AMOLED, even S3 got a 4.8" screen, PPI is smaller than S2! Also, the color tone is cool and it easily get screen burns!
I don't like HOX:
1) Power button design
2) Quite hot after using it for a while
3) USB goes to the left
I've been experiencing unacceptably horrible battery life with my one x and I've had it just over a week now. Other than that its been an amazing experience using the phone but it feels like the t3 powerhouse under the hood is completely useless when the battery can't power up my phone longer than roughly 2-3 screen hours. While playing games I have to put it on the charger which results in battery overheating so the blazing fast tegra 3 performance in games is of no use either. As a conclusion I have to say I'm really dissapointed just because of the horribly poor battery life

One x has only quadcore + 1
One x has a separate core for battery saving only used when phone is in sleepmode.
____
But anyways, i was kinda disappointed how fast the battery went down in use but dont care much about that after 2 weeks, and i have managed to get the battery to last 2 days and 18 hours.
The camera is good, but the framerate and camera picture quality could be better despite its big lens.
The cpu power is perfect, not slow at all and runs everything smoothly. Even games witch has wicked textures.
Soundquality from both headset and speaker is superb.
And with the 720p screen, tablet apps like photoshop touch are working perfectly!
Just curious, but why is a 4+1 core CPU labelled as quad core?

My HOX
Gr8 phone enjoying it.
Right, well i moved from a HTC Desire and to begin with i thought that the hox was amazing
My friend at work has a s3 and to be fair there both very fast
I am currently running RD-miui and am getting some amazing battery 12 hours on and still 70% and thats with wifi on sometimes and data on constant (it honestly depends on the rom, on the pkmon rom i was getting barely through a day)
I love the One X, i feel that there is a bit of me that wishes i got the S3 due to so much development happening on it, but from having a htc desire in the past once they are S-Off i know that the development will just fly out
Things i dont like, nothing really at all
The one x is labeled as a quad core because the fifth core is really only a quarter or half of an actual core, and its tasks only include running the phone when in deep sleep

I couldnt wait for my one x when the one sereies back in february was announced i immediately sold my iPhone 4 (wich i reget this decission later) so i waited patiently for this phone to arrive and the first day it arrived in my country 9 jun i got it and at first was amazed with the phone then what happened is that i was realy dissapointed in one x im a hug htc fan but in terms of quality (not bulid quality but quality control in general) it cant mach its rivals apple and samsung and i hated the galaxy s3 but after a week of using one x i hated more than i hated s3 i mean come on it had so many hardware problems:
The phone got hot while doing normal usage wifi and a little facebook but when gaming it gets really hot even worse with THD games it got extremly hot i thought that my phone is going to melt in my hands.
Battery is not bad its horrible i mean you can barely get 2-3h of screen on time and i found that solution with the companion core is usseles just a gimmick
Screen is one of the best on the market but come on even the screen has problems like screen ripple or screen flicker wich even in the 1.29 wasnt fixed so after 8 days of using i got sick of it and returned it.My advice stay away from this and get s3 or iphone 4s i dont know if s3 is better but knowing samsung im sure it is because my mom has a gs2 and its awsome even in 2012 so this is from a huge htc till today fan from now on im hating htc
Just my 2 cents

I like my One X more than the S3.
Design in my eyes of the One X is smoother/better/stronger
Size is better, not to big in the hands ..
HOX i'm loving it..... battery life is ok since it last me 1 and half day if not much usage on 3G, gaming etc. Camera is very good as for a phone, don't expect it to do wonders like a DSLR CAMERA... As for S3 i not very sure but what i know the design for S3 is awful to me. But both run on qual cores and if u really want to know the detail between them then ask some expert...
I have had my htc desire hd for nearly 2 years and quite simply its the best phone I have ever owned. Everything more or less works well except GPS which is slow to get a lock. I am seriously considoring upgrading to the HTC one X. I bought the galaxy note but returned it after 1 week. Although tthe screen was outstanding, unfortunately I wasnt a fan of the interface and decided that having got used to htc I would stick with it.
Can someone post a review of the one X compared to a desire HD they may have owned. In particular in these critical areas:
1) Battery life
2) Browsing experience
3) general speed/lag issues
4) speed of GPS lock
Thanks
Having upgraded from a Desire HD:
1) Battery Life - A significant improvement but you will find this to be the case with most phones as the DHD battery life was especially poor.
2) Browsing experience - much faster rendering, increased screen estate helps too
3) general speed/lag issues - The phone feels much faster will less stuttering in sense.
4) speed of GPS lock - again much faster than the DHD and better GPS reception overall.
In addition to this the phone is so much lighter due to the materials in the case and the screen is a massive improvement it looks fantastic and will blow your socks off compared to the DHD.
Two words (DO IT)
You will not look back.
Much better in every way..........

I too have come from the Desire HD, and I can say - I thought the Desire HD was the best phone on the market until I got my One X.
Once you get your HTC One X you will see a massive improvement with the screen quality, size, weight and overall speed & quality of it in general.
It'll be the best phone you'll own to date.
Go for it.

The DHD has the same battery life issues when it was first released.
this gets resolved over time with software and kernel updates.
Don't worry about the battery
Biggest upgrade would be the screen that would be the most noticeable. I went from DHD > SGS2 > HOX. And the speed.
The screen is just something you need to see! With the HD resolution it's far superior than the DHD screen.
Battery life will vary but generally it ranges from being poor to being good depending on usage and signal and such.
Go for it as long as you don't mind it has no removable battery and no microSD card slot. If those 2 issues are not important to you then upgrade without a doubt.
Have to agree with everyone else. Compared to literally all other phones, unless you see the One X screen you really don't know just how good it is. I was beyond pleasantly surprised, its stunning and really should be the benchmark for all screens in future.
As for the rest, the phones fast as you would expect, my battery life is absolutely fine as I only keep data on when I know I need it, otherwise its WiFi 100% of the time pretty much. I get well over a day's worth of battery doing this with 60% being on screen time playing games or web browsing.
Hello my friend,
I've had the Desire HD, changed for Sensation XE to finally end up with a One X.
1. Battery was improved but DHD battery either was much better with custom roms and kernels (I would recommend Revolution or Cyanogenmod);
2. Screen-wise it's so much more than Sensation's qHD not to mention the good old DHD. I'm flabbergasted
3. Nice touch, feeling and not heavy at all. In the hot summer days I would never ever want a heavy DHD in my jeans pockets again.
A real bummer it's the lack of memory card slot. Really HTC? I hate those guys for dropping that right now when the microsd cards prices went down.
Two chapters are not covered yet: GPS and audio quality (I'm a die hard lossless fan and I have the unbelievable Sennheiser ie8i headphones so if you're interested I'll keep you posted on this also).
P.S. In order to summarize my rant above: The DHD could be a WWII Panzer. Meanwhile HTC One X it's an UFO.
I had to go back to my DHD for a few days after using my HOX for a week. It was hard to believe that I used to think the DHD screen was crisp lol

Will loss of micro SD slot be a major problem? All my photos, videos, music are stored on it currently
No, as you can stick it all onto Dropbox

I upgraded from a DHD and I most say that the screen on one x completly outcompetes the DHD, big plus! Also I love the 25 gb dropbox space
yup dhd sucks compared. i've gotta use mine again now whilst the one x is off for repair.
Even with custom ROM & Kernel the DHD still feel sluggish sometimes. (Or perhaps partly because it was AOSP ICS ROM put together without HTC's help) That's never been a problem will my HOX so far, even if reviews say it's not as smooth as HOS or SGS3.
Battery life was better for me on DHD with custom kernels. Very much hope for something similar on HOX soon.
GPS and screen - HOX better in every way.
And the camera! Image Sense really is a joy to use.
Go for it!

Here I am again, on subject of gps and audio quality:
1. GPS reception its ultra fast and the good old DHD can do nothing in this area. I have full reception of 5-7 satellites in a matter of seconds at 1 meter from my window, several floors above me and tall building in front. There is simply no room for improvement left there.
2. Audio is top notch. I listen to lossless music (FLAC) on Power Amp with Sennheiser ie8i. A nice touch its that one could stop now the beats audio thingy that was sadly always on in the Sensation XE for instance. Ive read in reviews that only the S3 has a better/flatter frequency domain response. Oh well. I am glad for myself that the audio quality gap between the iPhone and the rest of the world disappeared at last...
An ugly side of the ICS 4.0x os is that ringtone volume and notification volume are now connected. This is quite a stupid PIA thing and if somebody knows some solution to this I would gladly love to hear about.
Hey guys,
I have read so many topic that people complain about HOX battery, so funny!
Please understand that the phone and the battery is same as the care and the fuel tank.
Your car have 20l tank and with full tank, you could run about 200km. Some one could run longer, some one could run shorter but only around 200km. Depends on how you drive, you could run more or less.
You want to feel the power of your car and want to happy with high speed, you should do more acceleration. And of course, your car use more fuel and you run a shorter distance. If you drive your car in very economic way, keep stable acceleration in stable speed, you could run longer distance.
Simple, the phone is exactly like that.
More powerful function, less usage time. Turn every thing off and take your HOX as decoration thing to show to your friend, ha ha, you will have 3 or 4 days of use, even more.
So, please stop complaining about the battery usage. You want supper 3D game, very smooth video, very fast internet, beautiful camera, all tools in your hand... you should not ask to have long time usage. If you want longer, buy other phone (like you buy another car with bigger fuel tank).
Yeah, that analogy works perfectly, the first thing I look at on a car is fuel tank capacity. :screwy:
I agree totally.. I'm forever banging my head on a brick wall with this. If technology is part of your life then invest in it properly.. I have a range of battery extension methods and can / do regularly go a week or more without mains.. but on the other hand when I'm in the office and hammering 3d hd games I know I will be plugged in all day..
I also have another phone.. battery lasts for a week or so without any top up.. but I wouldn't even try and get on social networks with it..let alone try and play the silly 32 colour games.
If battery life matters either invest in the kit so you can charge away from mains or buy a dumb phone.

It is not our fault. HTC should have used their brains. 1800mah battery on a quad core beast! Seriously! What on earth were they thinking. I have a feeling 2013 is not going to be a good year for HTC.
I agree with the OPs car and fuel tank capacity analogy and it makes good sense, but tell me, isn't it the responsibility of the car maker to put an adequately sized fuel tank in the car, taking into account all factors like space available in the design, size of the car and its mileage? Isn't it completely stupid and careless on the maker's part to make a huge car with a powerful engine, and put in a fuel tank with the same capacity as in a car that's half it's size with an engine that's half as powerful? How does the maker ensure that the car lasts for a long journey without requiring stops at the gas station every few hours? Everyone knows how irritating that can be, so why should it be any different with phones? You'd at least expect the expensive phone you buy to last for a day with moderate use. No one's asking for two days too. Just a day with moderate use is enough. But that's not the case. The One X, if unplugged early in the morning, lasts till evening at best with normal outdoor usage (take outdoor heat into account too) and requires charging. Even with all the battery saving tips like underclocking and the whole routine. All batteries degrade over time, but if the battery is of minimal capacity from the start, and then degrades, and is non-removable on top of it all, then we have a problem. It's just careless to design a phone this way.

I agree that they should have used more common sense. Their ideal lab tests and battery life results don't match up to real world usage. Look at the Droid DNA. 2100 mAh. That's ridiculous. I don't fault them for making the battery non-removable, because the design of One X requires it and it looks nice. But they could have fit a bigger battery in the phone even if it means increasing the thickness by 1-2 mm. One X battery life is horrendous, and the worst part is you can't just swap in a new battery if it runs out, unlike the Galaxy S3. The Droid DNA/DLX/M7 is going to suck just as much as the One X at battery life because even though it has a bigger battery, the hardware is that much more power hungry. Honestly it seems like the only manufacturer who really knows how to make excellent quality phones with good design (may not be the best, but very good) and great battery life is Motorola. Don't get me wrong, I'm not praising Motorola. Far from it. They have really ****ty policies towards development communities. But they really make well built, well designed phones with adequate or more than adequate batteries. I'm not just talking about the RAZR Maxx. While that IS an exceptional example, a lot of their phones have great batteries. If Motorola could put such a huge battery in the RAZR Maxx without compromising on the design (it's just slightly thicker and heavier than the RAZR), then there's no reason and no excuse for HTC not to. Samsung also used common sense with the Galaxy S3 by including a 2100 mAh removable battery. HTC's characteristic flaw in the past 2 years has been to put ****ty, tiny batteries in all their phones and claim it's due to design constraints. Every HTC phone has a much smaller battery than an equivalent phone by other manufacturers. Another HTC problem is to include include very low intern memory even to their flagship devices. Nexus One, HTC Desire, HTC Desire HD etc. It's their fault they put in such low system memory, and then they don't update their phones because they say the internal memory isn't enough for the new version. Ridiculous. Not to mention their unwillingness to update perfectly capable phones to newer versions. What's with the One V not receiving Jelly Bean while the One X and One S do? It was launched alongside them, and never got even one official version upgrade. Whatever happened to the Open Handset Alliance and Google guidelines for Android updates?
I like HTC, I like their designs, their build quality, and the usability and general feel of their phones. But they're being a crappy company in their policies relating to updates and full unlocking of bootloaders, no doubt about that, and they're also being dumb by not included adequate batteries and enough system memory. Some would say that the low system memory is a deliberate move on their part to avoid updating older phones. Anyway, I'm happy to see that with newer devices like the One series, they're being sensible in this regard and partition memory isn't really an issue anymore. But seriously HTC, stop trying to suck so much. There's a reason Motorola isn't all popular and significant anymore, although they make nice phones like you. Get rid of your ridiculous policies and give us once more a killer, truly open phone like the HD2. The amount on development that is still happening with that phone is insane.
Rant done.

Exactly, the one-x has like a 20l fuel tank, thats the capacity of a motorcycle!
I don't see why people shouldn't be complaining.
When I first got my One X with ICS I barely used to get 8 hrs with a full charge with wifi on.
Now people come up with all kinds of ridiculous suggestions such as turn your auto sync off, keep your brightness at zero, uninstall facebook, disable maps etc. Why do all this? I might as well have a Nokia N series phone if I were to remove the smart from smartphone. Fortunately JB bought a massive battery improvement to my phone.
It would be a different thing if people were moaning after 14-15 hrs of battery life but with ICS I would struggle to get to even 5 pm on a normal day.
A customer pays a chunk of money to get these phones and if it doesn't even meet normal requirements, one has a right to complain.
Spot on. Also if they managed to fit a 2100 battery one the HOX+ why didn't they use it on the HOX because it fits perfectly. I switched from my Evo 3D. I still have the phone in perfect working order and excellent condition. I may start using it again because I can't stand charging my phone twice a day.
If HTC were clever they should have offered HOX owners a battery upgrade and bet they know the HOX has battery drain issues. I wouldn't mind paying for the upgrade either. Getting the S4 next.

I really hope that's true for most people. So far I'm seeing mixed reports about battery life with JB. I'm just waiting on HTC to release JB kernel source so that Faux123 can update his kernel and try porting his intellidemand governor to it. That thing does wonders on the Nexus 4 and Galaxy S3.

Exactly my point! It's just carelessness on their part. They didn't compromise on design with the One X+ at all. It has exactly the same dimensions as One X. There's no excuse for them to have not included that battery from the start. All the One X+ has is an over clocked processor and a bigger battery. They shouldn't even be allowed to release that as a completely new phone, trying to dupe their customers into believing that their phone is better than the One X. It shouldn't even be a new phone. The processor overclock should have come to the One X as a software upgrade if possible, and when HTC finally figured out that they can actually put in a larger, better battery, they should have honestly, like you said, offered a free or minimally paid battery upgrade for all One X users as an apology for screwing up the battery from the start. That's the least they could do as a responsible company. Rather, they release the exact same phone with enhancements that should have been there from the start, heavily promote it because of those essential enhancements, and earn more profit on it. What about the customers who not very long ago spent a lot of money on a phone that they expected to work just as well? Unethical, if you ask me.

Alright the thread title already says everything.
Is the HTC One X still a good and reliable phone in day to day usage?
Is the Tegra powerfull enough to play current games and get through all daily stuff without problems in form of delays or lags?
Also regarding stock ROMs like CyanogenMod or Paranoid Android, as I'm planning (if I buy that phone) to flash one of these, do they run smooth?
I plan buying the One X because I hate the button layouts of current phones and would be happy to get some opinions.
Thanks in advance!
(If this belongs on the Q&A Thread please move it...)
Everything you said...yes. great phone. I sold my HTC one to come Bk to the x as it just doesn't compare camera etc
All games run sweet
Paranoid etc all smooth..you'll lose camera quality but it still works though

Nope, not a good phone......it's a friggin' AWESOME phone :laugh:
Matt
I love the One X, I don't feel any need of buying a new phone this year, it's a reliable phone. I use Sentinel Rom which is an AOSP rom like the ones you mention, I don't like Sense so this has been my daily driver for months, and everything works great, the phone is fast, games run as smoothly as you want them to and so on. My only concerns are the battery and the camera which are.. well, terrible. If you're not in absolute perfect conditions the pictures will be awful, don't even try low light photography, it'll be hurtful, even the flash is useless, you can't get a good photo (it's worth noticing that the results aren't the same with the stock sense camera); and the battery barely lasts a day (by day I mean the moment when you wake up until the moment you go to bed, not 24 hours, 12 hours tops). If you can live with that I strongly advise you to buy this phone. Even more due to his price range which is very mid range and you get a very high end feel phone. The build quality and the screen are outstanding, I'd say that's what it has over his greatest competitor which is the S3. Hope I helped
Yes. And One X>S3.

I'm aware of that fact!
What about that Wifi issue? Do many devices have that issue or is it only the minority?

Quite a lot of One X's have that issue, especially if they've upgraded officially to the 3.18 base
If I were you its a no brainer, get the S3 or even better, the Nexus 4
But the S3 has:
Better camera, better audio, smoother gaming performance, micro sd and better development community
The One X has terrible battery, terrible performance in high end games, I mean some games that are supposed to be optimised (thd) lag on this phone (shadowgun for example) and the hyped features like beats audio turned out to be ruined by the HOX's crappy DAC and the so called super 'Tegra 3' turned out be nothing but a heat creating battery sucker
The only things I prefer of the One X is the build quality and excellent screen but tbh that's not really enough to make this phone 'better' than the S3
I'm not hating on the One X, it's probably the phone that I've kept the longest since I've bought it but tbh, it was a disappointment
Feel free to disagree

I also owned 2 One X's and neither of them had Wi-Fi issues. The first one had a gap in between the screen and the body of the phone, it came like that out of the box it made a crack noise every time I touched the display, would like to know what happened with that phone :silly:
One thing I read here that is 100% true is that for the same price you can buy the Nexus 4 which is better in every way, it's something you should consider

lol what are you saying? s3 has compared to one x bad camera and battery in s3 just holds not more then half an hour more then in one x ....gaming...i really don't have problems with gaming now...even with un-optimized games... the one x is way better then s3...but ok you own the s3 so you will say another thing...i already made MANY tests with both...the one x was always better only in speaker volume and battery it was not that good as s3 but ok it's enough...

Nah lol I don't have S3 (S4), so I should actually be supporting HOX
But seriously battery is way better on the S3, I borrowed my friends one for 2 weeks to see what it was like and on a bloated stock rom with at least 2 hours of gaming, I easily reached 5 and a half hours of screen on time
And come on, everyone knows the HOX flopped when it came to gaming, I mean try and play any gameloft game and it'll lag really badly (Batman, Nova 3, Wild Blood). Real racing 3 on high graphics lags and so does shadowgun. Seriously go download Iron man and tell me it's smooth. Even with Trip's kernel, it was unplayable for me and within ten minutes, CPU hit 75°C
With custom kernels it's fixed a bit but the heat produced is just ridiculous. And the camera of the S3 may not have some of the fancy features of the One X but the quality is quite a bit better

There's a basic flaw in all battery comparison posts on this thread. It's only obvious that S3 will have battery life than the HOX simply because the S3 has a large battery capacity - nearly 28% more. Hence, if all else constant, compared to the HOX the S3 should last at least 28% longer assuming both the phones are used in exactly the same way.
It's only fair on HOX to compared to another phone with a similar battery capacity, IMO
The HoX is still an amazingly good phone, no doubt about it.
My other half got a Sony Xperia Z a couple of months ago and there are some obvious hints that Sony's flagship has got some more grunt and has unbelievably good battery life, but the camera and screen are noticeably inferior when compared to the HoX.
I'll be sad when the day comes that I 'upgrade' from my HoX.

Bought a HTC One a month ago just to give it a try. Great phone, faster than One X, better battery, better sound. For the first couple of weeks, One X sat silently on my desk.
But then, the novelty of One started wearing out and I wanted to sell it before it devalued to much. I've returned to my One X a week ago and I remembered why I love it. It has a GREAT screen, it's light, has a greet feel, it's still damn fast. No need really to upgrade until next year.
@OP: if you can get one for a good price, don't hesitate. Just don't unlock the bootloader (4.2.2 is coming soon) until you test for a while the wi-fi issue that plagues most of the units.
HTC One X is awesome
This phone was a f*ng disappointment of 2012 for me since day one.
You can't have proper live wallpapers (or custom scrollable wallpapers) because some f**head engineer in HTC messed their HTC Sense too much and it consumes way too much RAM.
Battery life just sucks. At first we even had battery drainers inside the operating system (at least THOSE got fixed), the only way I overcome this is by installing HTC One X+ battery.
Look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189653
After a year of use (primarily putting the phone inside front jeans pocket) that f*ng unibody case gets weary and affects how your digitizer is working. I am lucky that I switched from jeans to a suit and I manager to find a way to prevent unibody flexing (I put the phone in the inside pocket of my jacket now).
Update (JB 4.1) promised to roll out in October makes it out only in December.
Every guy in RL that I met with this phone was also very unhappy. Curious that people at this forum are not like that - but after all, only a small percentage of users use this forum. Plus I really think that people unhappy with this phone very rarely enter the forum (like me).
All in all, if you have to buy a 2012 phone, go with Nexus 4. Better in every detail (except slight disadvantages with the screen maybe).
I was one x user for last one year, at least four of my friends bought one x after seeing mine. With all the hype about HTC one I decided to give it a try, amazing boom sound, full hd screen.
Sold my one x in the process. 1 week and I was missing my one x. Sold HTC one and bought another one x and gonna keep this till it stops working. Fantastic device, excellent build quality, looks good naked.

RR3 does NOT lag at all, nor does Shadowgun, not even in the slightest. But since Gameloft games are s**t I couldn't give a monkeys. NO game I play on the HOX ever lags. ATM I am enjoying Galaxy on Fire 2 HD, full 3D space combat sim, and it's utterly flawless.
The HOX, even after over a year, continues to impress...and I do NOT have one of the exceedingly rare variant 3's or anything like that. I have the worst of the bunch variant 0 (though I think I am lucky in my particular chip just being binned like that). And my battery is the original.
ONE thing I agree on is that it DOES get hot, but that's more a product of manufacturing process. It's manufactured on TSMC's 40nm high-speed process (the companion core being on the low-power process). This means that at full-tilt it has quite a high leakage (heat and power use) but that clock for clock it's switching speed is far superior than, for example, the S3 which uses a FAR cooler-running 32nm LP process.
Tegra 3 was designed to be performance over power. HTC realised their mistake in pairing it with such a poor battery in the HOX, hence the HOX+.
I am NOT going to say the HOX is without flaw, far from it...but it is an incredibly powerful phone with a quality build and a simply SUPERB screen that continues to hold it's own in every application even after an eternity has passed (and over a year in the smatphone market IS an eternity).

I've run every live wallpaper i've liked the look of without one single problem, even on Sense. I just tend to not like live wallpapers but they run just fine so I have no idea what you're on about there.
Battery life under use does NOT suck...the original battery capacity sucks...and I will admit that was one of HTC's few design choices on this device that really did blow. The battery is too small, but Tegra makes excellent use of it considering it's power requirements, and IDLE battery consumption is EXCELLENT. That's what NVIDIA aimed for, and HIT in my mind, maximum performance during user interaction but minimal power draw in idle to compensate.
After over a year of use the bodywork on my uncased (in all that time) and jeans pocketed HOX has NOT fatigued and the screen is in perfect condition.
Finally I would say that the people you are likely to meet on this forum are those people who utilise their phone to it's fullest possible potential. I am not talking about custom ROM's and kernels, I am talking about just USING the device to the maximum. Ordinary Joe and Jane Public tend not to do this and find many things to b*tch and moan about, in MY opinion..which I think is just as valid as your assessment.

RR3 doesn't lag on stock low graphics setting but as soon as you set it at high where it isn't an eyesore, the fps is bearable but is only about 25fps dropping to about 16 in heavy scenarios.
And sorry mate but your simply wrong, even hamdir stated that shadowgun lags and was complaining about how an 'optimised' game doesn't even run well on the HOX. It's not like it runs constantly at low fps but on too many an occasion it drops way below playable for a few seconds during gameplay
And Gameloft may have some terrible customer service and support but they have produced some really good games which I can't enjoy on the One X - Nova 3, Dark Knight and Wild Blood to name a few
And your telling me no absolutely no game lags? That's a bit of a joke considering it's well known how Nvidia put a sh*tty GPU alongside the excellent Tegra 3 processor otherwise. Go and play NFS Most Wanted, GTA Vice City, Dungeon Hunter, Dead on Arrival 2, RR3 on HIGH graphics, etc, etc. and then come back and talk
Man I'm not just hating on the One X for no reason, but sometimes you just have to face facts, the One X disappointed in many areas.

Hello everyone,
I got bored with my xperia z1 compact and now I want phone with sense 4 (possibilities are: one x, one s, sensation).
I red a lot about faulty batteries on hox and that hox+ is little better because better battery, but one x is, to me, one of the most beautiful designed phones ever + there is sense 4 which is THE most beautiful UI to me, and I want that combination
Also I found several used hox's with hox+ battery installed and their owners says screen-on time is around 4 hours on kitkat which is totally ok to me, battery life on my z1 compact is around 3.5 hours.
I know One m7 have all these problems corrected but that phone is really a lot uglier to me than hox and I don't want sense's 5 minimalism either.
Is it wise to buy this phone (used)?

I'm using One X almost 3 years (bought it same day as it came to my country) and I'm pretty sure that it's the best choice (both X and X+) if you want Sense 4. I'm still happy having One X and not gonna buy a new one anytime soon
The only cons of One X is speakers - they aren't loud (ofc you can install mod to make them louder, but still, not as loud as M7)
Second "bad thing" you can solve easily: overheating and battery life (solve it by undervolting cpu and gpu). When I just bought my One X, i did a video playback test without undervolt and with undervolt (but didn't underclock anything) and tested how much time it can play an 720p video. Results were insane - without undervolt i've got 5h50min and with undervolt 6h20min. Also without undervolt CPU temp was around 50*C, battery temp 30*C, and with undervolt CPU temp jumped down to just 30*C and battery temp was just 25*C (I've been testing in 20*C environment). WHATCHA WAITIN' FOR? Just buy it!
Thank you for long answer
Speakers are not important to me at all, but sound through earphones are, how is sound on stock earphones and with mods like ones on ViperX rom?
Is sound loud enough and clear enough, I had sensation and sound was really good, I don't want it to be inferior to sensation

Well, sound through earphones sounds like it must, according to GSM Arena quality must be even better than Sensation's output
From GSM Arena:
Frequency response with headphones attached (lower difference is better):
HTC One X: +0.10, -0.10 (0.10+0.10=0.20)
HTC Sensation: +0.71, -0.15 (0.71+0.15=0.86)
0.20 < 0.86, so One X's quality with earphones must be even better
Ohhh that is really nice then, now I am even more determinated to buy hox
