[Q] Verizon GNex ROMs on Sprint GNex? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey XDA!
Is it possible to flash a Verizon GNex (toro) ROM onto a Sprint GNex (toroplus) without breaking too much?
Also, what are the differences between the two ROMs that makes it so hard to port them? I though the only differences were the inclusion of the Sprint profile / PRL update as well as APN and MMS settings... is there a guide on porting ROMs between the phones somewhere?
Thanks!

Most of them are compatible( except the 4.3 ROMs) if you flash this script after ROM, before the gapps. I'm running toros version of Purity right now, have been for two weeks.http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...Ms among Tuna Devices // 4.3 Support for toro
Make sure you read the op.

[Q] Sprint Gnex - CM10 Radio still FD02

I'm kind of confused why the Sprint Galaxy Nexus, toroplus, is still using the FD02 baseband instead of the OTA JB FH05 version in CM10, even as of today's nightly.
I'm not trying to complain or anything, since I know nothing about programming, but why wouldn't they merge the official JB radio into CM10? It's been quite a while since it got released... Are there issues, or just no benefit? I'm confused.
Radios are independent of Roms. If you want the newest radios, you have to flash them yourself.

What he said, + the ROM's doesn't touch the radios at all.

are you familiar with using fastboot to flash .img files?
Ah, I wasn't aware that radios weren't included in roms. That makes sense. Yeah, I'm familiar with fastboot. Thanks!

CM 10.1 Android 4.2 released for the n7100 and n7000

http://androidcommunity.com/cyanogenmod-10-1-android-4-2-comes-to-galaxy-note-ii-20121219/
Just wondering if someone knows the work required to get this to all LTE devices including our t889?
4.2 would probably pull me off teshxx's seriously solid 4.1.2
Madmack over the att Note 2 has a working cm10.1 4.2 for all lte variants. Unfortunately, the voice in call is not working atm. He and other devs are working together for a fix. So I would say soon we will have a working cm10.1 for our phone.

There's actually a guide in the international forum to flash any n7100 rom to a N7105 or Carrier version.

Yes any STOCK ROM. Unfortunately our radio chip is different then the 7100's. Our radio chips also uses different audio paths. We need to fix audio from the radio before we can have a daily driver. Madmack, codeninja, and a few others are working on that. AOSP != Samsung TouchWiz. The way the AOSP kernel talks to the ROM != the way stock kernels talk to ROMs.
Note: != means 'does not equal' for those who don't know.

Cm 10.1

I just sqw that verizon note 2 got what looks like a decent cm 10.1 build. Would it be safe to flash on our tmobile note 2. Or how hard would it be to port over?

Not directly answering your question, but there's an AOKP ROM over in the Original Android Dev section, which would be close to CM.
There was also a CM a few weeks ago, but the thread was closed due to the OP apparently taking credit for someone else's work. I used it for a bit, but in the end I decided to go back to a TW based ROM. I missed the camera too much.
I saw both of those. I was just curious because it is cm 10.1 so that means android 4.2 I am already running 4.2.1 on my nexus 7 and it is very nice. So would lime to give it a try on the note 2. Although touchwiz on the note 2 is very nice any way.

You can flash it but it's buggy. Might not get data service. Also Android 4.2 arranges your sdcard files differently which is going to make a mess if/when you want to downgrade prior 4.2...

Mine was a mess after I flashed but there's a file in the att 10.1 thread that fixes it back. You can flash the att 10.1 but in call audio doesn't work, their real close to putting it up fixed though
So we can cm 10.1 from verizon and att the same way we would flash a T889 rom?

I don't know about Verizon, but the att version I've flashed before
If you can wait there's official Cyanogenmod 10.1 support coming for the GSM LTE Galaxy Note II. Madmack and Codeworkx are currently working the kinks out. There will hopefully be a get.cm download for it in the very near future... The official device name is t0lte.

[Q] Paranoid Android Version to download?

Hi,
I rooted my S3 Sprint - L710 version with no problem. Now I want to install the newest rom Paranoidandroid version 3.15. I could only find support for different S3 devices like i9300 and such. Does this mean that I can't install 3.15 yet on my phone? I think I saw version 2.54 parandoidandroid for this phone, but would like to be on the newest. Could I try the 3.15 for i9300 or will that cause problems?
Thanks,
Tyson

I wouldn't flash that, that's why there are so many "Help, I bricked my phone" threads. There are all sorts of ROMS you can flash, TW or AOSP, but DO NOT flash ROMS from other XDA forums.
sent from somewhere
Yeah, dont flash ANY roms made for the international version. If you do, theres a 100% chance of brick in your phones future.
As for AOSPA3+, I dont think you searched hard enough.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142668
I don't think he searched at all.
EDIT: It's been over 5 hours, what are the chances he flashed that International rom and he now has a brick?

Sweet ROMs in the international forum

Hadn't been over there in quite a while, but the N7105 forums have some sweet ROMs if you're looking for a change that should work fine on our phones...
Currently running "CM Remix" which has everything but the kitchen sink for an AOSP rom, and so far seems very smooth and stable

They should all be safe to flash. Same hardware on the internal LTE variant.
The build.prop and APNs may vary slightly, but many of the ROMs in this forum are exactly the same as their international versions anyway

By checking for a modem in the zip as the n7105 modem isn't compatible with AT&T or t-mobile. If modem is in the zip I usually just replace with proper modem for your carrier.

Mine is the ATT variant but unlocked and used in Central America. I'm guessing it will work with any modem?

No since it's AT&T you will need an AT&T modem in the phone as any other modem will cause an unknown baseband.

Got it, thanks!
Still running the ROM I mentioned in the OP, and it has too many features and too few flaws (none!) for me to try any other!
New build made yesterday - gonna try that, though
BTW, didn't have to change anything to get it optimized for the ATT model- even the APNs were all set up (unless maybe I restored settings that I wasn't aware of)...
1st Nov 2014 (ver 3.0.5.0 STABLE Fix)
Kernel : bundled with latest agni kernel ( Boeffla Sound version with new wifi module)
Update SuperSu to ver 2.16
native support to F2FS (no need to flash any convertor, native support F2FS partition of System. Internal data and Cache partition)
Fixed ART mode * (1 st Nov 2014)

Looks like a great rom!. I'm assuming this rom is ok to flash for any LTE variant (Bell) since it doesn't include a modem?

Should be fine! Just back up as you always would with TWRP and make sure you backup the modem as well. That way you'll always have one backed up if you need it just in case...
Yep, as long a modem isn't included in the zip (which it *typically* isn't in the case of AOSP based roms), you're good to go.
I personally don't even flash t0lteatt roms when they're available and instead use their t0lte counterparts, as the t0lte versions are sometimes more likely to be updated more often (and in some cases the t0lteatt device tree has been abandoned entirely!)
And if anyone's wanting to build a rom from source, while we're on the topic of AOSP roms, the t0lte tree is the way to go as far as the Galaxy Note 2 LTE models are concerned.

What reminded me to check the international forum was when I went to deactivate my old phones in Google Play Music, I noticed most of them were listed as an N7105- and all of the ROMs were downloaded from this forum anyway...
I was wondering about trying Roms from that forum too. I kept seeing posts where someone said something about a DN4 Rom. So I looked it up and downloaded..........only to find that it is not one of the Roms that works on our phone.......as of yet. It did flash and start up, but before I could make it past the welcome screen, I got a bunch of pop-ups about various items "quit working." And they kept coming back. And then I had the unknown baseband with no signal.................basically it just doesn't work. Damn shame too, cause it looked so nice. But this did make me look at the other Roms and I will be trying a few of them. I must say though, DN4 had my mouth watering for the GN4 experience on my 2.

You can only flash roms from the n7105 section. The roms in the development and original development sections won't work
