Bluetooth Dropout - LG Optimus G Pro

Anyone seeing dropout when using a BT device on a phone call. I am on the Value Pack update and it has gotten considerably worse than on the base ROM. I cannot keep a BT connection past 5 mins now.
Thanks,
Steve

I have a lot of instances where I lose audio and can't hear the person I'm talking to but they can still hear me just fine. If I toggle the call back to the handset and then immediately back to Bluetooth, it is fine for a little while. It never loses the actual connection to my headset though.

Yes Bluetooth has been pretty rough with this phone. I usually listen to music on my Bluetooth car stereo, and out drops out constantly. :/

Hmmm what I am thinking of doing is resetting my phone back to the stock ROM without the value pack. I would swear it was better then but cannot be certain. Will let everyone know how I make out with this. I see nothing on the Internet about BT drop outs but I def know its happening for me.

I've only used music in the car but it's never dripped out for me.

Constantly losing Bluetooth when A2DP triggers

I have a Bluetooth headset that supports A2DP. All notifications and media play through it automatically, which I very much like. It worked perfectly on my OG Epic 4G, but on the Touch I've had constant issues where somewhere around 25% of the time that my phone sends it something via A2DP (usually a notification sound) my Bluetooth will disconnect, I'll hear its disconnect sound, then I'll have to wait a couple of seconds to hear it reconnect, which it succeeds at roughly 80% of the time. Otherwise I have to turn it off and back on to get it to connect.
Anyone else experience the same with theirs? Any thoughts on a cause/solution?

While I am now rooted, but otherwise stock, this problem has occurred since day one. It's not related to any customizations.
Am I REALLY the only one experiencing this? Seems surprising.
No. I thought it was my headset, and I was about to replace it.

All right, so we've got one more person with the same issue. Now if only we had some extra thoughts on a solution, or a line on this being something Samsung is aware of.
Since this got moved I'm not sure if it's been seen in this forum. Anyone got any thoughts? Similar experience? Idea of if there's a possible fix?
I'm have a problem playing bluetooth audio through my factory stereo
I'm have a problem playing bluetooth audio through my factory stereo, which worked flawless with the EVO. This is a show stopper for me because I travel a lot and listen to podcasts in my car. Since I got the E4GT I have been unable to stream BT audio.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out this is related to the same SoundPool bug that causes a lot of games to crash on the E4GT. I have no further info to help you, unfortunately; you can Google around about that. The short version is that that if it IS another symptom of that same bug, there's probably no fix.
I have a tiny Bluetooth USB jig that I plug into my laptop and my music plays fine through my laptop. I will test it out over a longer period of time tomorrow but so far its been great..

Gap & silent during listen music

-when listen music either on HTC music widget or PowerAmp
- got Gap and silent when using Bluetooth headset
- works fine if direct connect to the ONE X
any idea and fix ???
I've yet to see if this works for bluetooth but had a look at the ROMeOS rom and saw this in the build.prop as monx seams to have fixed the stutter: lpa.decode=true
I've set this in my build.prop and will try through the car bluetooth tomorrow.
To edit build.prop in the system folder you will need root access
thanks , buddy , let me know the result.
Unfortunately made no difference for me, will keep digging though as this is annoying when I have a 40 min commute to work each morning and again back.
Anyone have any idea's?
Edit: this doesn't just happen on the beats setting, turning it off makes no difference.
Anyone have any ideas on any fixes yet?

Have the same stutter issue even after 1.28 update connected with my bluetooth MW600.
Seems the problem is device switching to power conserve core. When i play music in background while running GPS in foreground, iam not getting the stutter.

That seams to be the case, having just sat in my car for 15 mins, 5 mins just music and 10 mins with music and maps and no glitches with maps.

I have the same bluetooth headset, the MW600 and the stutter makes it unusable. I'm on 1.29 stock now and I got to the point that I don't use my MW600 for listening to music anymore, but just wired Sennheisers.
Have you found a solution yet?

No. Not really
After using MW600 for 2+ yrs without much issues iam thinking to order Sony Smart wireless Headset Pro and see if it makes some difference. But, its not yet available in stock

I read somewhere that some custom ROMs solve music stutter issue. Iam on stock locked and can't comment though.

I was also planning on buying that Sony thing, but then I found my Nokia BH 214 back. It is now charging and when I'm back home I will test it. If it also stutters, I'm not going to buy a new headset, because it's likely to have the same problems, although that Sony is Bluetooth 3.0, which could make a difference.
I'll let you know the results with the Nokia.
I have stutter problem with sennheiser Bluetooth headphones. Am on stock 1.28, and disabling beats doesn't help (although did help on older version)

I'm running 1.28 & have the same issue with my car kit which is a works supplied Nokia car kit that allows A2DP connections. I'm definitely going to try running the GPS at the same time on my way home from work to see it that fixes it as suggested. I have a usb charger that I plug in so won't be using any extra juice. I'll post back my results.

Sorry for the very late reply, I completely forgot it. Just yet I tested the Nokia BH 214. First my One X couldn't find it, tried for almost 10 minutes. Then I disabled WiFi, just to try, and yes the headset was found. Then I put WiFi back on, but it refused to communicate. Wifi off again, communicating worked. So to say pairing was easy: far from that.
Now the next phase: listening to music. Completely unusable. Very very bad. There's something wrong with output, vocals are washed away and sound like the singer is 100 miles away. While quality isn't an issue with the MW600. But also the gaps. What is also very strange is when the phone is on my desk in line of sight with my headset, the are only a few gaps. But as soon as I put the phone in my pocket, the gaps increase exponentially.
So I think in my case the only thing left is to send the phone back. There must be something wrong with it, my WiFi reception is also very bad. Bluetooth also sucks, so since WiFi and Bluetooth are handled by the same chip, there must be something wrong with it. I really like the phone and sending it back means it's away for 2/3/? weeks, but first I hoped it was something with the software but that hope is fading away.
--------edit: just pissed of by all this. Called HTC and I'm sending it back for repair. Nice phone, but basics like WiFi and Bluetooth must work and they don't. They said it will be back in 7-10 working days. Hope they can keep that promise. --------
Have the same problem with my Jabra Freeway, really annoying to get thos silent gaps when listening to podcasts and music in the car. Tried to run navigation on my way to work today to see if that made any difference but it didn't :-(

I just tried using my Moto S10-HD after reading this, and thought I would tell you my experience. I have alot of music on my phone, and I just hooked up my BT with Wifi on and no issues, so I started to play music and so far 3 songs and no gaps stutter or anything like that. One thing that does happen which prior phones didnt happen is that when the screen goes to stand by after not touching it, there is a .5 second interruption in the song, but thats it I am currently on my forth song and the phone is in "standby" mode and it plays perfectly.
I have the WWE version of the phone using 1.29.401.11 ROM BL unlocked, rooted, and custom stock rom.
Not sure that it helps you but to share my experience; I have occasional stuttering on bluetooth using my Sennheisers if the phone is in my pocket. I found that I can replicate the stuttering if I completely cover the top of the phone with a hand on either side and cupped together at the top - in fact I can cut off bluetooth playback altogether.
This isn't a normal way of holding the phone obviously - but it does count if the phone is in your pocket, there is already some 'resistance/interference' from the surroundings. Other than that, I have great wifi reception, best of any phone I have had.
Could this be a hardware fault? Maybe they just need to boost the bluetooth signal / improve buffering?
I only got my HOX this week, aside from this issue it is great, no other issues - touch wood
Mine seemed to studder when it was in my pocket while I walked my dog. I sent it in for other issues and we'll see if the new one has similar issues.
Same problem here ! Kinda disapointed !
Same problem SonyEricsson HBH-IS800
I also have a lot of stuttering. It appears to be a very weak signal because it works better (though still not flawless) when I have the phone close to the headset.
Putting the phone in my pocket is already far enough for playback to completely stop working.

Bluetooth A2DP Audio Stream Issues

Hey Fellas,
Coming from a Note 2, I instantly loved the form factor of this phone. Built well
I'm having some issues connecting my bluetooth and streaming music on it.
My receiver is a Tunelink bluetoothwireless and the programs i'm using on it is mainly spotify. I did try beyondcast, but still having the same issue.
When streaming music or any sort of audio, I'm getting very spotty audio output. I would hear a slight static, then it'll cut out and resume at a different location. It seems to me that there is somekind of lag that goes into the system.
Calls made through my car does not have these issues. I've tested the tunelink and it seems to work fine. Anyone else having this issue?
I'm not understanding where its coming from. A possible fix would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
There seem to be issues with the bluetooth on this thing. Another forum member and myself both have problems staying connected to some of our bluetooth devices. I can connect to my car without any problems, but I can't connect to my bluetooth enabled housephone properly. If I try to make or receive a call, it's instant disconnection.
I'd lump your problem in with what's been described as faulty software.

Yep. And my car will stay connected for over 2 hrs, through phone calls and hangups; never an issue. Then when connecting to my home phone, it's disconnect-mania. Most people don't seem to have problems, but some, like myself, certainly do.
And the reason I blame it on the LGOG is because my old phone (LGOS) always had a solid connection to the home phone. Only thing that changed is my cell.
I have no problems streaming, from a motorokr s305, a nokia bh-505, and a JVC unit in the car. I do get somewhat of a poor connection with the motorokr s305, though. I just figured it was the age of the headset itself.
I do not have issues with my LG stereo Bluetooth, and with my Kenwood head unit, my only problem seems to be auto-connecting. It also has some skips, which has happened on all my phones since I got the head unit. Need to updates its firmware and see if that helps with any issues.

[Q] Sony Smartwatch 2 Bluetooth Issues

So I bought my Smartwatch 2 a few weeks ago (imported it from the UK) and it's great, the only problem is that it interferes with bluetooth music streaming and bluetooth call quality. I have a 2012 Chevrolet with bluetooth for calls and for media streaming, and I have not had any issues with streaming content over bluetooth until I purchased the Smartwatch. I also have an LG G2 on Verizon, and I thought that might be causing the issue, so I isolated the true cause; when I turn off the watch while playing music, the quality instantly improves. Also when I make or receive any calls in my car the quality is so tremendously bad that I can not understand a word of what the other person is saying. If I switch back to the normal handset via the in call menu on my phone, the call quality improves again.
Am I the only one out there with issues like this? And If not, has anyone found a way around this issue or know of what should be done?
(I know this isn't a Q&A forum, but I was not able to locate a section for Q&A on the smartwatch)
Here no problem with the smartwatch 2, htc one and parrot bluetooth car kit. Maybe your phone needs custom kernel or rom for optimised bluetooth emissions.

Sometimes my phone doesn't connect anymore to my car Bluetooth, untill I switch off my watch! When I then switch my watch back on it does not connect to the phone anymore.
This behaviour is intermittent so difficult to troubleshoot. What seems to help is to reboot my phone, so maybe it is phone related (HTC One X+).
I only have problems when I get out of reach BT wise. Mostly they reconnected but when they don't I have to unpair, reboot both and pair from start. Luckily it doesn't happen too often

I have exactly the same problem! I have the note 3 on att and a 2012 Audi Q5. I noticed it was only an issue when I receive a call...and shutting off the watch doesn't help.
I realize that this is because as long as I am on the call, the phone is sending a signal to the watch (keeping the number on the watch face). Even if I turn off the watch, the phone is still sending. The caller's voice is totally garbled. If I turn off the bluetooth, audio quality to the phone is fine. This is a killer for the watch! I can't use it in the car! If it only rang but didn't keep the info on the screen, it would be fine. I wonder if there is an app out there that will buzz the phone when the call comes in but then stop transmitting to the watch.
I guess I could turn off the phone handling app.. but that would defeat the purpose of the watch.
Does ANYONE have an idea how to fix this? I am at my wits' end!

If you mean that you have switched the SW2 completely off, in this case sending is clearly not possible, bluetooth is an handshaked protocol....

I have switched it off.. Eventually the distortion clears. Maybe the interference continues a bit because the car - phone bluetooth connection was somehow altered by the watch transmission?
I don't know how these things work but the distortion of the voice only happens when the watch is connected!
I am amenable to any suggestions.

Probably this is due to concurrent BT connections limitations or reciprocal radio interferences, or to a BT stack overload in one of those devices (likely the phone that has to keep 2 connections going at the same time).

If the source of the problem should lie in the phone BT, the Sony SW2 couldn't be blamed.

not sure what you are saying. I have an issue that has something to do with the watch, phone and car interface. I am looking to the people on this board for suggestions. You telling me that I shouldn't blame the watch and rolling your eyes is not helpful.

My personal advise is that probably the first (and only) workaround to try could be to change or modify the phone that apparently has some problems with double BT connections.

I totally agree, but for somebody it's apparently too hard to believe...
I have 3 Bluetooth audio devices: car kit, Bluetooth speaker and Bluetooth stereo headphones.
The car kit and speaker work fine when the watch is connected but the headphones (Blueant X5) stutter while playing music and behave badly when trying to talk on a call. If I disable Bluetooth on the watch, it works fine.
I wonder if it's related to the Bluetooth version of the respective devices. Both the car kit and speaker are much newer than the old headphones.
Maybe your issue is similar. Do you have access to another phone you could test the watch against?

I suspect that if a device (for ex. a phone or a headset) hasn't at least Bluetooth version "3.0 + HS" (released in 2009) it's likely to have problems keeping 2 BT connections correctly working at the same time.

The car is a 2011. The watch and phone are state of the art....
I installed call handling pro which allows me to limit the number of seconds the watch displays info on an incoming call. This secondarily limits the time this phone-watch communication disrupts the voice bluetooth communication between phone and car. It has helped. The downside is that, when not in the car, I lose some of the benefit of the watch. I'm ok with the tradeoff. It is a workaround.

Wired Headset Buttons

Randomly out of nowhere my phone has started acting strange with the buttons on my headphones. Only occasionally does it skip songs like it's supposed to, sometimes it lowers or raises the volume instead and other times it does nothing at all. At first I thought it might be the headphones so I tried a new pair same problem. I tried reinstalling the software on the phone same problem. Tried using a different player app same problem. It never used to do this before and strangely works perfectly fine sometimes. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this and have any ideas or solutions? Thanks for your time ?

I ran into this on my prior phone (Droid Maxx). It turned out the headset port went bad...likely something got into it and damaged it or otherwise prevented a good consistent connection. You could try to see if there is any dust or particles inside the port and see if you can clean it out. Likely another reason Bluetooth headsets seem to be the way of the present and future....good luck!
