[Q] Incredible is restarting itself after I view the bootloader. - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

So I'm pretty confused on this one. My charger port is getting pretty bad and I'm going to replace my phone via its warranty. So I just unrooted my phone and turned S-ON. Everything seemed to go well.
-The bootloader is Hboot and not revolutionary
-The rom is the stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
My phone boots fine after a freshly flashed 2.3.3 rom via PG32IMG.zip on the root of SD card. I can download apps, I can make calls fine, etc. etc.
However when I reboot my phone it starts causing problems. After i reboot it loads the normal htc sense, but after 5 seconds after its fully booted, it starts to restart itself. The only way to stop it from constantly restarting itself is to go into the bootloader and flash the PG32IMG.zip from the SD card again.
After a fresh flash, the whole thing starts over again.
So..... any ideas? lol

Flash the ROM.zip normally through recovery. Pull out the boot.img and rename that to the PG31IMG.zip. Boot into your bootloader and let it flash the boot image. That should do the trick.

Unrevoked went bad

Hi, I've got a big problem: I've just received my desire back from the shop (the power button was broken, it hs been replaced, but they didn't updated the fw or changed anything else), I've got an original 2.1 fw on the phone, and I wanted to root it (before taking it to the shop it was rooted, then I unrooted it, because I still had warranty on it), so I've runned the unrevoked 3.21.
It started, the phone rebooted, then the program said: flashing recovery, and the phone turned to the white background htc boot screen. It was like tath for 10 minutes, with no changes, than the unrevoked program stoped.
No change on the phone, I've taken off, then put back the battery and restarted the phone, but it was stucked in the boot screen.
I can go into bootloader mode, and I was able to reflash the original fw (RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4 .06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed), wich was successfully flashed on the phone, but there is no change, phone stuck at the boot logo.
What can I do?
.. You didn't have patience enough, should've waited longer.
It's supposed to reboot several times - and takes a little while.
I don't know what you can do, try it again maybe?..

you made a rookie mistake... WHEN YOU PUSH THAT ROOT BUTTON, there is no turning back... you can't abort in mission. I have no idea if you can fix now :/
It hasn't rebooted..
I've run unrevoked several times before, and never had problems.
Now it was stuck for 10minutes at the htc logo for the first time, so there wasn't any "many reboot", and the unrevoked program on my pc just shut down itself after that, without completing the rooting process..
Now I've tried to flash several ofw-s, and I always succsefull, but the phone can't boot, still stuck at the htc logo.
I'm wondering, can I take it back to the htc service and say, that the original fe update bricked it and will they repair it under warranty? (there is no sign of the unrevoked process, because I've changed the ofw like 15times since then)
I would try another RUU first. If you are getting into recovery you should be able to flash an RUU. That would update your hboot etc and as far as I know, should get you back up and running.
If your phone is debranded, remember you need a goldcard. If its unbranded then you should be good to go with just the RUU.
Edit: have you tried booting without Sim and SD card too?
As I said, I tried booting with and without sim and sd card, the result was always the same.
As for the RUU, I've flashed almast 15 of them succsesfully, but the result was always the same: no booting.
My phone is unbranded.

[Q] incredibly re-engineered v2.20 wont boot

I flashed the incredibly re-engineered v2.2 rom a week or so ago and it worked great till today it was giving me a force close on a bunch of apps, so i restared it and it still didn't help. Did a *228 and when it restated it just goes to the black screen that says htc incredible Loading then after several seconds it flashes blank for half a second then says same thing. I used rom manager to flash it. I've also used virtuous and skyraider 3.5. I'm good at computers but android is new to me as i've only had this fon 2 months. I have to do a battery pull to restart it. Any Ideas on how to fix this? I can boot into recovery but havn't been able to do anything... Never used it so not sure what to look for but like when i click recovery or factory reset, nothing happens. Oh, and i did a search but didn't come up with similiar problem.
htc incredible s-off
radio 2.15.00.07.28
Flash a different rom.

How do I do that? When I boot in recovery mode I have option of fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock, and factory reset. When I select recovery it goes to bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, and power down, with reboot highlighted. Wen I select that it boots like normal than gets stuck on boot up screen.
Try fixing permissions through Rom Manager first, if not I would reinstall the rom. Be sure to do a full wipe, don't just flash over your previous rom.
If neither of those work, I would follow this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786436
Flash back to stock 2.2 and see if your phone starts acting the same way. If so I would take it back to verizon. If everything seems ok, re-root and flash JUST the rom and apps that you want, no kernel, themes, anything extra yet. See if that fixes the problem.
I made sure I did full wipe when I installed it so that shouldn't b problem. The issue Is i can eve get to rom manager because he Fon wont load past the boot image. And its out of warany so vzw prolly wuldnt be much help.

I would re-download a different ROM (making sure you don't have a corrupt download), check the MD5 SUM's to verify integrity of your download, mount USB Storage in Recovery to transfer the file to your USB card (when phone is off, hold down the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time), wipe all user data/factory reset and Dalvik, and then reflash the ROM of your choice.

Go to that link in my post, download the PB31IMG from the 2.2 Stock OTA, put it on the root of your SD card, boot into the bootloader and let it update. You will go back to being completely stock and unrooted. Root it and then try installing the rom again.

[Q] HELP Is my phone completely broken

On Saturday I was running cyanogenmod 6.1 on my phone, and I had gone through some of the files and deleted some of them. From what I understood, if something went wrong, you could just re flash the ROM. I was watching a Youtube video and my phone had one of those random shutdowns. It started back up at the splash screen, and I expected it to continue on into the ROM. After the splash screen it just shut off and restarted. I though it was just since I deleted HTC Copyright apk, so I would re flash the ROM. I went into H-BOOT, and hit recovery, and then the phone just shut down and started to reboot. I knew it was bad, so I put PB31IMG.zip on my phone that contained clockwork recovery. I then booted into clockwork, and it worked for 2 seconds and then the phone shut off. I flashed an earlier version to try again, and same thing. I tried to use different recoveries and they haven't worked either. Is there anything else that I can do to fix it after this point.
Sincerely
Cubusmybro
AFAIK you flash the PB31IMG.zip in H_BOOT, not recovery.
It's people like this that make the manufactures and service providers hate this community. You didn't know what you were doing, and you ****ed up your phone. You cant just go and delete things. Learn what youre doing before you do anything.
I did flash it through H-Boot, but the recovery wont stay up for more then 2 seconds without shutting down.
If you have s-on and 7.28 radio you can go to dougpiston.com and dowload stock RUU. Rename it PB31IMG.zip. H-boot then volume up to update.

[Q] Desire HD almost dead (only boots to fastboot). Any way to S-ON?

I had a Desire HD for a year. I just started rooting and using custom roms three months ago.
A few days ago, when I got the phone from charging, I found it frozen. I restarted it to get a looping "force close" for almost all processes. I restarted it again to the same result; the third time I restarted the phone emited 7 short vibrations just after powering it, and after some time in the initial HTC logo it froze in a black screen.
I tried to reflash my last custom rom I used, so I booted to ClockworkMod recovery and tried to reinstall the last ZIP file I kept on my SD card from last time, it installed ok, but then I got the exact same scenario: 7 vibrations, HTC logo, black screen of death.
Later, I tried to flash another custom rom, but now I can't boot to recovery. It does the exact same thing as trying to do a standard boot.
So now I'm stuck in Fastboot. I tried flashing a stock rom (downloaded the lastest official RUU), but while it seems to flash it ok, it still hangs the same. I also tried to flash copying the ROM.ZIP file from the RUU to the root of the SDCARD as PD98IMG.ZIP, but while it also seems to flash the ROM ok, it still fails to boot.
This is what I discovered (Googling):
-The 7 vibrations means bad CPU. What I don't understand is why fastboot works perfectly without any hang but can't boot even in recovery mode.
-I can't use my warranty while the phone is ENG S-OFF.
I think I succeeded to flash a stock ROM, so now the only thing that keeps me to carry my phone to fix is the ENG S-OFF. Is there a way to set ENG S-ON while in fastboot?

Ive had multiple vibrations thats when i was deving on something (unreleased)
Take out battery for 30mins then put it back n try recovery mode again, make sure you install a custom rom again after full wiping
EDIT: flashing stock ruu should s-on, then redo s-off that should fix it afaik

If flashing stock RUU should s-on, then the flashes I tried didn't complete. I guess the flash finishes after the first boot, but as the phone hangs before booting, no flash is done?
Anyway, if this helps somehow, this is what shows my fastboot:
ACE PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.2007 (PD9810000)

[Q] The phone Froze and wont boot again

Hi everyone,
I have a friend with a HTC Droid Incredible 2, rooted and running Android 2.3.4. Yesterday the phone just got frozen, he pulled the battery and now the phone wont pass the boot screen. Sometimes it goes into what I believe is the bootloader screen (I attached photos for that).
The thing is, I would recommend him to re-flash the ROM but when he try to go to Recovery, the phone restarts and stays again on the white screen with the HTC logo.
I searched the forum and all suggestions had something to do with the recovery menu but when he select the recovery option (when he is actually able to get the withe background menu, sometimes it goes in sometimes not) it just restarts again and does nothing. Is there a way to fix the problem? I guess there should be a way to solve it, at least through the computer. If there is already a tutorial to do it, much better.

download the pg32img.zip to the phones sdcard. You might need to do this not from the phone, but i'll leave that up to you.
This will update the firmware and radio.
Flash a new recovery via fastboot

I managed to flash the recovery but it does the same things. still cannot go into recovery and flash new rom. any other way to flash a new rom?
By the way, I connected the phone (while off) to the PC and like 15 minutes after it went right into recovery, but when I pressed a volume button it just restarted.
I will recommend flash the PG32IMG first.and then flash a new rom.

I did, via the bootloader, and I flashed a new recovery with fastboot, but it keeps restarting when I select the recovery on the bootloader. If I connect the phone (turned off) to the computer some time later it goes alone into recovery but reboots when I select any option, if I turn on the phone it stays like for half an hour on the first HTC screen, then it finishes booting and restart alone again.
try flashing this ruu

The phone just started working again after a couple of factory resets via fastboot, then I wiped every cache and was able to boot normally again, and I forgot to come back here and say thanks, so.... Thanks!
