Man...and I just went back to stock ROM, haha! I'll have to check this one out
Thx for the rom. I get an error7 when try to install the zip.
Downloaded the zip twice, just to be sure its no bad dl, but no luck.
Did fastboot cwm, flashed ww.30 stock, reboot into system, put your zip on sd,
shut down, fastboot cwm, format system, factory reset, flashed your zip.
I get a FC when I try to open the accounts&sync tab of the settings. I tried fixing permissions in cwm no good
no other tab of the settings has a problem

It also doesn't seem to be installing my apps from google backup. I never understood google backup though, It didn't seem to do anything until I had two android devices at the same time

I haven't bothered to use it until the acct&sync is fixed cause I wasn't sure if I'd have to reflash. Also I'm really hoping the google backup will kick in and install all my apps back. I didn't bother backing up even an app list cause I thought it would just install them all like the tf300 did when it was new. All the apps I use on my phone were installed automatically after first setup.
this rom, it restored my wifi setups so some things are being restored, just not apps.

It's not the custom roms thats stopping me. Its the unlocker program that runs and tells asus on you that you unlocked the bootloader permanently voiding the warranty. I just had a 300 burn up on me, so i am reluctant to do anything to void my warranty on the replacement.
Meh name is clearly for my own productivity and organization.. i just do this bc i needed something on mine ... like stock but fast and efficient and 100% the pad i bought ... And i like to share

No reflashes its all updates from here.. Unless i find something super cool that needs to be freshly installed...
Accts and sync is one missing apk ill add it in a non wipe update with some framework mods tonight...but you have to have the base for the update
And nothing should be coming up as far as wifi settings... You should be formatting system and factory resetting in recovery

I am currently on AOKP. before I installed it I rooted, installed Clockwork with the stock rom still on it. I then backed it up thinking this was a way back should I need it. Are you saying this isn't the situation?
Where can I find the latest stock rom?

ok sweet thanks a million. can't wait for update.
No when I said wifi was coming up I mean that because I choose to enable google backup at first setup, it restores things like wifi settings, installed apps, some other settings, etc. I know it was active cause it added all my other wifi ssid's and passwords but It has not started installing my apps back like it did before. It's probably related to google backup not your rom, like I said before I never really understand how it works.

How did it burn up? are there known flaws or defects in the 300 that cause premature failure? just tryin to extend the life of mine
Hi,
I've got a Tegra One X running SlimBean 4.2.2 WEEKLY 5.7 and n3okernel.
So far so good but there are still some things I'm not really sure about.
First there's something very annoying compared to other phones and even to Sense One X's.
From pressing the lock button to the screen coming on it takes about 1-2 seconds (which is still quite slow but acceptable to me), but sometimes the phone just takes a little bit longer. Sometimes it takes up to 20 seconds (haven't stopped it but it's my impression).
Does anyone have an idea why this could be? Is it possible to disable the fade on animation? I don't need it. I'd rather have the screen just coming on.
And otherwise I've been playing around with Pimp My Rom Beta from the Play Store and fiddled around with some settings and the results seemed quite good to me. Can someone tell me if it's recommended to turn these settings on:
Hardware acceleration (Pimp My Kernel - Android Features)
Lock Launcher In Memory (Pimp My Kernel - Android Features)
Call Ring Delay 0 (Pimp My Kernel - Telephony)
Proximity Sensor Delay 0 (Pimp My Kernel - Telephony)
AMR Wideband (Pimp My Kernel - Telephony)
Optimize sqlite3 Databases (Pimp My Kernel - Miscellaneous)
Ext4 File-Systems Tweaks (Pimp My Kernel - Miscellaneous)
Internal SD-Card I/O Tweaks (Pimp My Kernel - Miscellaneous)
Zipalign all APKs at each boot (Pimp My Kernel - Miscellaneous)
Battery savings (Pimp My Kernel - Miscellaneous)
Quick Power-On (Pimp My Kernel - Miscellaneous)
Adjust GPS config to my country
Wifi Scan Interval 180 (System Tweaks - Internet)
It doesn't have anything to do with speed but I discovered that my battery drains quite fast if I have mobile data enabled. If I disable it there's nearly any drain.
Is this normal and is there a way to make the drain a bit less extreme?
Thanks in advance!
land.apfel
Change kernel would probably fix screen on delay
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
This is the reason why I've chosen n3okernel. It seems to be better now but still not completely cured.
Which one would you recommend?
I've got the same problem on my Nexus 7 also.
I've flashed Faux there.
land.apfel
Oh boy, where to even start. First it's a known issue with higher end mobile processor's (like tegra 3) that fstrim is not correctly adjusted. To take care of that go to play store and download lagfix and run it, you'll probably notice an immediate difference. I would also download cache mate, clean master (has a broom icon) and also clean master pro (has a little ying/yang icon). Download all 4 of those apps and run them all and you should notice a huge difference. If your SD card space is getting low, that can also slow down your phone. Again, I would go to the playstor and download SD maid and use that to clan up your SD card. This should all make a huge difference. Like I said though I would start with the lagfix app.
I tried lag fix but it made everything worse I suppose.
So I didn't try the other tools.
My SD still has some gigabytes of space so this shouldn't be a problem.
My main problem really is the slow unlocking at the moment.
And the battery drains pretty fast too, but unlocking is really what's annoying me at the moment.
Thanks anyway!
land.apfel
You gotta remember too, the Rom your running is basically a constant beta if you're using weeklies, these issues may pop up. Might wanna try a different Rom and see if it persists.
from my Viped out one x
A few apps could help alot
Download greenify, and seeder
< Coming to you live from the planet One X >
I was running the official build 5 until yesterday but then I thought I should maybe try a newer build. Maybe it's better.
As Build 6 came out today, I've upgraded to this one.
Does Seeder really help?
I've read that it does not help at all because entropy is not really needed so often.
Is there no simple solution for faster unlocking?
land.apfel
My lg g4 was worked fine for the past 1 year. Now I am facing an issue near the camera.
Battery draining too quick. If I use 10 mins, around 30% battery is draining.
And my images are not loading. Showing like something encrypted. I have attached the screenshots too.
Note: I done reset many times. But, still facing the problem.
Using android 6.0:crying::crying:
best way to fix this is to reduce the big core A57 to 1.44 ghz or disable it completely to cool down lock the freq
clear the cache install root optimized stuff that u need all on the internet out there to solve
even the new S8 device they set it deafult at 1080p resolution so set the resolution
to 1080x1920 at 440 dpi
script (using android terminal or rom toolbox auto script startup**leave the su command for rom toolbox )
su
wm size 1080x1920 wm
or use dpi changer app (root) to archive scale but stock app will crash use 3rd party app
remove all bloat ware app ..... there alot of things to optimized
Thanks alot. I am not a techie like you. I am just a beginner. Can you tell me in the easy way to do it?
Hello,
Most games on my devices crashing and slow down the device. I think that is not normal and the "final" seems like a beta version. What do you think?
Most of the apps are not optimized for Oreo yet.
I'm seeing a performance dip as well. It takes time to switch between apps, and there's choppy performance using WhatsApp. I don't know if it is caused by an unoptimized background app.
can confirm. Especially when multiple apps are open. Then again, we only have 2gb of ramto work with, lol
It has been optimized with the September patch I think. My device is blazing fast after the update.
Sound's like I should skip the Oreo update on my 5X for a few months.
I'm glad to report no performance issues after upgrading to 8.0 Oreo OTA.
App switching is definition slower, but typing is almost impossible at times. The keyboard cannot keep up, and it's almost impossible to type within 15 seconds of using quick search from the home screen or after any app is opened.
I'm hoping a clean install helps with this.

Fix for performance issues
For anyone with performance issues after Oreo update,
go to Developer options and change the default GPU renderer from
OpenGL to skia (the old one)
Fixed the rendering lags and app-switching delays on my 5x after Oreo.
I guess I'll wait for a patch to try out the openGL, but for now using Skia restored the sharpness to my device.
I have major performance issues with Oreo. Switching back to chrome after using another app often causes a wait of 10-15 seconds until chrome is responsive, worse if I have a few tabs open, and the keyboard takes another 5 or so seconds to show up.
My RAM usage is most often at 95-99% so insufficient RAM is likely the cause for me. If I remember correctly, apps targeting Oreo should have a smaller memory footprint, but it will take a while until most apps are.
This phone is going to have to last me another year, so I hope performance will improve.
Why is it that some peoples phones are blazing fast with amazing battery life, running great on Oreo and then others are slow, terrible battery life, running like crap? It just dont make sense, it cant be Oreo since alot of people are running great!

This made my laggy oreo very fast now. Thanks. I was about to downgrade today, but I'll give it another 24 hours after switching to skia. Major improvements already with app switching and loading camera/snapchat

Just an FYI for others, this option and many others in Developer Options do not persist after rebooting. I'm guessing for some it's a placebo due to this.

Switching to opengl(skia) seems pretty pointless since the device reverts to opengl(default) after every reboot.
Its slow
Can confirm that there is deterioration in performance after the oreo update, choppy phone dial app, especially on cold start, everything lagging by sec or two, keyboard, app switching and especially the camera app, its taking like 5-10 sec to open, and most annoying of all the shutter speed of the camera is now like a budget Chinese phone. It's slow when taking pictures, Disappointed! The change of the rendering engine to openGL(skia) not the default one, seems to improve the performance a bit, I'm testing just now but i thinks it's not like it's supposed to be. It might be as someone pointed out that google is trying to kill off the Nexus brand or something... if thats the case it's a **** move.
Found the fix: wipe your phone cache partition in recovery, then reboot. My 5X was slow as hell after the update, after doing this it's snappy again, even faster than before!!

This might have helped with my recent issue with Google Play Music - it was constantly utilizing CPU and overheating phone for no apparent reason. After cleaning of cache partition in recovery it seems to be fixed (at least for the time being).
I remember wanting to write a continuously updated guide like this back in 2016 When I was running CM9.1 on my old AT&T Fusion 2 (3.5" TFT, Snapdragon S1, and yes, this was 2016)
I tried out kitkat on the Gnexus and it was alright, slow but alright. However, I bought this phone to run ICS on and that is damn well what I plan to do!
Now first thing is first, the OLD CM9.1 (Android 4.0.4) CM link: https://web.archive.org/web/2014100...d.org:80/get/jenkins/7070/cm-9.1.0-maguro.zip
Also Gapps (old school ones too!): https://devfiles.co/download/4DW4yYPf/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
And now for the list of tips from me!
First of all are my display settings. What I noticed that CM9.1 has that CM11 did not was the Galaxy Nexus display tuner settings near the middle of the menus.
Display Settings I use:
My settings are as follows:
Color multipliers is set to - Dark Sett.
Color gamma is set to - CM Sett.
Color Hack Presets is set to - Nothing, when I change this is ruins my settings
With these options colors are much more punchy and dark.
Performance Settings I use:
Governor - Conservative
Min freq - Default 320Mhz
Max freq - 920Mhz
IO Scheduler- not available in stock options, it is most likely CFQ
16Bit transparency and surface dithering are off, as are memory management options. This is just my preference, but you may enjoy them on.
Kernel is the default, stock CM9.1 kernel.
Attached is the stock Galaxy Nexus rainbow wallpaper, or that one you see in all the stock photos. Can't find that blue bubble one anywhere : (
Battery usage/life:
I am a light user, by all meanings of the word. End of day my SoT rarely exceeds 30 minutes, let alone a couple hours. I rarely play games and most of what I do on my phone is text, and check the time. Sometimes I make calls and take pictures but for most things I use my Nexus 10. As of writing this my Galaxy Nexus is at 48% after me pulling it off the charger at 7AM, and right now at 5:51PM. My SoT as of now is 41 Minutes. Attached are the two screenshots confirming this.
Finally, app support. Last on the list because of length. You are going to be using apk mirror for the majority of this. Some links to old apk's that somewhat function are listed below, along with ones that are confirmed to be some how dysfunctional. As with all things, your mileage will surely vary.
List of apk links to old apps:
Instagram 7.10.x (4.0.3+ - I had issues, you might not. It loaded a bit then crashed) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/insta...ease/instagram-7-10-0-2-android-apk-download/
Greenify 2.7.1 (4.0+ - works fine so far) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/insta...ease/instagram-7-10-0-2-android-apk-download/
Spotify 3.2.0 (2.3+ - Crashed at start up, but seemed to work on all other devices where the latest didn't work. Also some people prefer the old spotify) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/spoti...ease/spotify-3-2-0-1197-android-apk-download/
ES File explorer 4.0 (2.0+ - Classic ES file explorer, before they added all that new stuff that bogs it down) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/es-gl.../es-file-explorer-4-0-0-android-apk-download/
Twitter 5.95 (4.0.3+ - Old but not ancient twitter, should run well on the Gnexus) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/twitter-inc/twitter/twitter-5-95-0-release/
This list is meant to expand as apps are updated and people link apk's they are currently using!
I do plan on expanding this post more as I get more at home with CM9.1 and my Galaxy Nexus, and with anything anyone links or shares with me!
