Camera HDR mode does not work on LiquidSmooth v2.9 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have flashed LiquidSmooth v2.9 - on my T-Mobile Galaxy S4. The ROM is great but the camera app freezes in HDR Mode. Is anyone experiencing similar problem with LiquidSmooth v2.9 - ROM?
Appreciate any help/workaround.

I noticed this as well. Switching to HDR is fine but it freezes once you snap the picture. Wasn't a big enough deal for me to pursue a work-around or fix though as I almost never use the camera; just confirming that you're not alone.

Hey, thanks for confirming that. Even I don't use it much but it's good to have.

If it's a big enough deal, grab a logcat of the problem and post it in the LiquidSmooth dev thread. I would do it, but I ran back to TouchWiz (like I always end up doing...)

Fix Poor Quality Cam on AOSP Roms

I just found this thread on the international s iii forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146428
I didn't think it would make much of a difference. I have been debating going back to touchwiz lately so I would have better camera quality, but flashed this ported camera and BAM, works beautifully. Even works with the stock gallery perfectly. I'm running Carbonrom nightly's and can confirm it works spectacular, if you've been having troubles with stock camera, try this out and thank the developer!
Thanks for sharing. Running on BB8, when I switch over to video recording the camera crashes. Might be rom specific as you say yourself that it works fine for you.

Jelly Bean Camera App Is Broken

I created a thread for this for SlimBean but I've found the issue is more widespread than that.
I'm on the RootBox 4.0.1 stable for I747 with the kt747 kernel.
The camera app doesn't pause after you take a picture when confirming if you wish to save it.
The preview in most cases is skewed if you rotate it and/or swap cameras.
When I take a picture with Camera JB+ it reboots the phone.
I have cleared everything recommended, reflashed the rom and kernel, and nothing seems to work.
Thanks.
Have you tried a different custom kernel or the stock kernel the ROM comes with?

Yes. The camera Skew issue appears in the stock kernel as well for SlimBean and RootBox.
The no-pause after taking a snap picture appears in every kernel as well.

If it works at any point, it's not a hardware issue. When you go to recent apps and remove it, it temporarily solves the problem.
It's a known issue with many roms but nobody seems to have taken notice.
Have you posted this in the ROMS q/a thread for a response with the people who also run this ROM?

Haven't touched CM10.1 nightly ROMs for a while. But the LED Notification stopped working, stayed on an older version of CM10.1 nightly.
Gonna try that when I get home. Also PA made it to this device. Also the Jedi mind trick Roms. So many options. Wow head's spinning.
Leaning towards CM10.1 though.
No signal, can't play video
I was using CM10.0. Updated CM10.1 with corresponding gapp.
-Can't register on cellular network anymore. Can't set AWS frequency in the factory testing mode.
-All of my Video apps start legging, play videos for a little while and quit after about a minute, say video format not supported. Even though the video is mp4 format and it was playing it before quitting.
How should fix it? Flash kernel? Which kernel should I use?

Had some problem with radio but I just had to update to the latest version and everything else looks fine
I tried to resist flashing this ROM but had to give in to temptation. Said to myself no more flashing when I got into boot issues with JMTJB6. Odin flashed stock and left it unrooted! Was happy...but then temptation. Happy I did it, rock solid, butter smooth, doesn't seem to have any lag.

Thanks that did the trick. I was going mad at why the LED notifications stopped working.
Also still on the non-touch recovery, 5.0.26 the one that needs the Darkmod scripts to wipe cache and do full installs.
Also had to turn sensor on/off before it actually worked. Read that from another post from someone that helped me.
Thanks again dude.

Are you using a custom kernel? And did you wait the 10 minutes after the flash?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
No custom kernel. Flashed it days ago...reboot occurred today...Yes I did wait the 10 minutes after initial flash.
Is this a known problem? Would a custom kernel like uber kernel be more stable? I really like this ROM so far as is.

Leaked 4.3 camera works perfect with our device ibcluding PHOTOSPHERE

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340858
Should work on all 4.0+ aosp ROMs. Just delete/rename gallary2.apk in system/apps then install the apk like normal
I'm posting this because I'm running it right now with zero issues on thddudes beanstalk rom

But when it uses 25% of your battery overnight there should be something wrong. I tried it myself. Photosphere is not worth the no deep sleep new feature, lol.

I tried this running CM 10.1 and it seemed a little laggy for a while. Also, the quick settings did not match up. i.e. I would try and select one scene mode and it would actually pick another. If it was more stable I would use it. I prefer this new quick settings menu over the radial menu
Works well on stock Rom too. I also have problems with settings not matching up.

Meh... It's ok. I still prefer the MIUI camera, even if I don't have front camera support with it. IMHO, it's better than CameraZoom as well.

I am on AOKP and this only half works. It does do photosphere, but it only does 1 picture then it is fuzzy thereafter and the video is horrible and not usable. Does anyone have a .zip to flash back to stock camera and gallery? blah. i did a backup before but it was a a couple weeks ago and I am just not getting around to trying the camera.

This works great. It's how I restored my camera
meh
4.3 camera works fine on LG Optimus G F180k. I now have two Camera apps and two Galleries. The only flaw I encountered so far is the picture size. It only goes 8MP maxed and my camera supports 13MP so I only use it for PhotoSphere. The PhotoSphere works well, so far, haven't tried it outdoors yet. The new gallery app is a step up from the stock I had.
I froze the stock gallery and use the gallery app that came with the 4.3 camera. I didn't freeze or uninstalled the stock camera. I'll probably use'em both.
My theory here, maybe this works well with my phone because it first came out on Nexus 4, which is also a LG device and Optimus G and Nexus 4 almost have the same hardware with just a lil' variations like the camera. (N4 with 8mp while LGOG with 13mp, some models have 8mp too just like the N4)
and another thing, the 4.3 camera creates another directory inside DCIM folder. So the two cameras have two different folders inside DCIM.

What I'm really wanting to get my hands on now after seeing some previews, is the new focal camera from CM.

It is doing this with CM10 and Task's AOKP.
