[Q] Paying for the Custom ROM??

Hi,
I was gifted the Sony Ericsson Arc as a replacement for my current phone the HTC Desire. After using the HTC Desire for the last 1 year , I am finding it very difficult to get used to the Sony Ericsson UI (problems like : no smart dialer, the contacts are all messed up,all the text size is huge, the randomly flickering display etc..).
I was wondering whether there is anyone or any place I can pay money to create a custom ROM. When I say custom ROM I dont mean Cyanogen or others like that (I mean the stock ROM with the proper replacements for dialer,contacts editor, facebook integration etc..) , I just want a ROM on my phone which will look and feel like the HTC Sense UI (again I am not asking for the actual Sense UI, as I understand thats impossible).

You understand the HTC apps require the sence framework, so they will not work on the arc, there are many other dialer and contacts replacements, you can download from the market, Go dialer and contacts for example is excellent

The makers of TouchPal Keyboard have a smart dialer app called TouchPal Dialer. Haven't tried it out but it's available for free on the market.
The android 2.3.3 update brought Facebook integration to the xperia range.

How does relate to my post?

Thanks for the info.

Sorry, I should have explained. You wanted a custom ROM basically a stock ROM but a replacement for the dialer, right? I was just pointing out an app using which you could replace the stock dialer (and which supported smart dialing).
Facebook integration was another aspect you mentioned.
xboxfanj posted a thread by which you could the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen using Agile Lock. You can find it here.
EDIT: Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you wanted a stock arc ROM with the necessary changes; not the HTC ROM. Ooops!
But hey, I got the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen part right. LOL!

Blagus is working on a HTC Sense port for Xperia Play http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1174309 once he starts the work it maybe matter of time once we get it for Arc since both are almost similar. If your talking about hiring someone then talk to one of the developers who are willing to accept the offer.

Well that's kind of the problem, I don't know which developer to ask. I can't do a post in the Sony Arc Development sub forum, cause the rules say I can't post Q&A queries in the forums. Is there any one I can ask or PM to find out how to build this custom ROM ??

As anyone else can tell you, a custom rom for the arc maybe a while before all the functions are workable, the camera is the problem, so maybe do as others have suggested and use third party apps to get the experience your after

The main problem with custom ROM is going to be Camera function because Arc has the latest Camera technology they haven't released the drivers or source for it so developers can make it work on custom ROM. So we have to wait until someone manage to port one so others can use it.

Thanks for the reply.
However I have explained in my first post that the kind of custom ROM I am asking is based on the stock ROM with appropriate replacements for the dailer,contacts,facebook integration,text size etc... Basically I want to simulate a Sense UI.

Perhaps a theme could you help you out for the time being till someone makes a custom ROM for you? At least you should be able to get similar icons, background wallpaper etc.

[REQUEST] MIUI Power Control Widget

I was wondering if someone could port the MIUI Power Control Widget to AOSP or Stock Samsung Roms.
I think it looks really good. It has got the same function as the AOSP toggles but if you click the 3 dots, a bigger menu opens (see screens attached).

I've been asking this for a while in different forums but it seem to fall on deaf ears. I would like to see it replace the stock power control widget that you seem to get in all roms as the miui one look soo much nicer.

use mihome app from market, its only working with miui launcher

thanks mate but all I would like is the some help on how to extract the widget from mihome launcher app and add it to miui roms as I use the full Miui v5 for my phones. thanks anyway

Ya know, i have never even seen that get brought up before. It is a beautiful widget and would be great if someone can port it. Im not too sure if it is possible though because it may require the miui framework which has quite a few changes from aosp. If your interested, I have a section in my thread (link in sig) that has all (at least to my knowledge) MIUI ports to date.

hey thanks mate will have a read I'm currently using miui v5 from HERE
it's the unofficial miui v5 so as far as my thick skull knows with it's less than average knowledge of these things it should be compatible/work.
would I be right in thinking that getting the right xml files and graphics from the mihome launcher app and putting them into the rom somewhere e.g. framework-res.apk, frameworkmiui-res.apk or miuihome.apk should add the widget to the rom? or am I way off?

Sony ui on One V

Hi since i used to own a sony xperia phone i got used to the ui sony provided and i im not a big fan of the sense ui.
Is there some way to put the sony ui ont the One V.Any ui will do!

i installed the one suggested by "theiNDrAs" cuz it was quicker.
Now the xperia apps are left like media player and all those.If there are apk of them please post!

there are a lot of things you can turn off (for example with pimp my rom if you don't wanna search for scripts). most of the turn-off varification-things make things worse from my experience. force closes are probably coming up.
when it comes to GB there is not much needed to make everything run fine. debloating should be enough.

Don't do this while running in system, just pop it in ur build.prop and the 2nd dalvik parameter is not gaining full performance, go download on of my newer GB Roms like xelite, open build.prop and copy that dalvik parameter...

I think it is normal, idk no one knows till now. But I saw that 5.1.1 Deception ROM by darklord18 will show that multiuser on notification and lockscreen, I think...

U are Right I have tried that rom just a buggy rom and there is no stble rom for t2... There only stock what we have

What's wrong with gauravs deodexed z2 port, it works better than the stock 5.1 rom There's only one minor bug - a toast message when you turn off Bluetooth, Bluetooth actually works perfectly I use it everyday for my sbh20 Bluetooth earphones and to cast/throw to my TV. Everything else works flawlessly, You've been told how to get the multi-user icon numerous times in numerous threads it's just not possible on stock odexed firmware hence Decepticon rom and gauravs deodexed ports are the only way on the t2u.
Fly on sqlite mod+seeder app work wonders aswell.
I highly recommend gauravs deodexed z2 port it's the best base to start with if on locked Bootloader if it was buggy and unstable like most cm+omni roms ect I wouldn't be using it at all myself.

Dear lucas,
I really loved to have a custom rom on my Xperia T2 d5322 and right now using decepticon Rom,all is well except that call waiting and conference is not working. I also searched for Gaurav's Z2 port but there were 2 things that stopped me dare flashing.
1. Lack of step by step tutorial( and also he stopped replying to posts since June)
2. Bug list ( if any)
Note: One more thing the rom was on mega and my isp is not allowing me to download. Can someone upload it to Google drive and give me a link.
