I have an OTG cable that works fine with logitech wired keyboard, but doesn't work with the wireless one. Are there any good wireless usb keyboard / mouse combos that work with OTG?
Ok I tried the Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 ( and it doesn't work with the Nexus 7 over OTG (won't recognize). But the same keyboard worked immediately with my Galaxy Nexus. They're both running Android 4.3 stock so I don't know why there is a difference??
Anyone have experience with this? I need a keyboard / trackpad or keyboard / mouse combo.
Edit: did more testing:
OTG cable works with a USB hub, and I can attach both wired mouse and keyboard at the same time, and both works fine.
OTG cable works with a Gearhead wireless mouse.
Does not work with the Logitech receiver. I think it is the Logitech wireless receiver that's not working with Nexus 7.
Logitech wired keyboard with a separate wireless mouse works. But the Logitech K400 doesn't work for me either. Very unusual considering it works on the old N7, N10, HTC Rezound and DNA.
I just tried a wired Apple Mini-Keyboard. (The aluminium one with 2 USB ports, and no numeric keypad).
I was using a standard OTG adapter that came with an Android TV Stick.
It seemed to take 2 tries. The N7 may have been asleep the first time I connected it.
When I connected it with the tablet awake, it worked immediately.
I did not try the USB ports. My N7 is not rooted, and I do not have Media Importer, so there really in not much that I would expect to be able to use those ports for, except perhaps a wired mouse.

I have the official samsung mhl cable an it works it mirrors my screen to the tv but is there a way i can connect a mouse an or keyboard with my OTG cable an use a mouse to control the mirrored image of the phone on the tv?
there is a smart dock for the note 2, which has HDMI and USB ports:

And if a dock is not good for you, you can always buy a bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo
I have a Logitech Wireless F710 Gamepad that I'm trying to connect to my Nexus 7 (2013). ... The gamepad comes with a USB dongle, that I've attached to the Nexus 7 via this USB OTG adapter. Unfortunately, the Nexus 7 does not react in any way to the USB receiver being plugged in or removed. Any suggestions? Does the USB OTG adapter have to be powered by external source? Or, did I get a flaky USB OTG adapter?
If someone can help me get this working, I'll turn this first post into a more traditional HOWTO for future readers.
I just opened my OTG cable and tried connecting a Logitech MX Darkfield mouse to the tablet and it does not recognize it at all. I have also tried my brother's Logitech M560 and still no difference but my wired Logitech G400 works. I was wondering what was your experience with connecting a wireless USB mouse to the tablet through an OTG cable and if you had any successful connections.

I've used various USB OTG adapters successfully with mice and keyboards. Did you just get the cable? Does it work with anything else?

I just got the cable yesterday through Amazon and wired mice in addition to keyboards have been successful as of now. I read another post describing similar issues which mentioned that all 5 of his wireless Logitech mice did not work with the OTG cable. What brand/model have you been using?

I didn't realize you were talking wireless. I've never tried any, but later I'll borrow my wife's Logitech.
Hello. Is there any solution to make Xbox 360 controller working on Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2?
Did you try an OTG cable together with the wireless receiver?
I have wired Xbox 360 controller and I have connected it with OTG cable, but tablet found nothing.

My Tab Pro 8.4 picks up a wired Xbox 360 Afterglow + OTG just fine. Plug the joypad into the OTG connector first and then the OTG into the tablet. If that doesn't work, I wonder if you have a bad OTG cable or controller connection? Does it even light up? Maybe try testing it with a different OTG cable or another controller.
The only problem I've run into so far is only the D-Pad will work with RetroArch, and none of the other buttons register. But all of the buttons work fine with the regular home screen and the Nostalgia.NES app. This behavior has thrown me for a loop.
I know people have talked about using a Bluetooth mouse with the Tab S4 in DEX mode, but what about a USB mouse? Would it work with a USB-C wireless mouse or with a standard USB mouse with a USB-C adapter?
It should work just fine with a standard USB mouse as well. I used a USB Type C otg cable to use my usb nouse until my bluetooth one arrived and it worked well, I just had a dongle hanging off the side of the tablet.
I've been using a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse (with the usb unifying thing), connected with an OTG usb cable.
They work very well. They also work with the android phones I've had. It's kind of ideal. I don't often need a keyboard and mouse, voice recognition works perfectly. But on those rare occasions it's super easy to hook up.
One thing, sometimes the developer options for 'usb connection type' need to be changed to 'midi' to get it working. Sure beats the heck out of overpaying for a specialized keyboard for the device, which I almost would never use
samsung galaxy s4 and logitec K400+

I have been trying to use a Logitech K400+ keyboard with my Galaxy Tab S4 using the usb dongle with a USB C to USB adapter, and it does not connect. A wireless mouse with dongle works perfectly though. Any suggestions ?
You need to pair the mouse/keyboard with the USB receiver first on a PC, then from then on it will work in any android device.

I tested my CORSAIR - M65 PRO Wired RGB Optical Gaming Mouse using the USB-C adapter that came with my S9+ and it worked. RGB lit up and everything there was no setup required. Simply plug and use.
