[Q] Bricked/Broken Optimus G (?) - Sprint LG Optimus G

Okay, so.. my phone has decided to die on me. I put it on the charger overnight a few weeks ago, and when I woke up, it wouldn't boot.
List of Problems:
Wont boot when not charging
When charging, it turns on then boot-loops
Can not do a hard reset
Tried to lngpst.. did not work.
So, I took it to Sprint about an hour ago, and the man said that I'd just have to pay the $150 to get a new one (there is a SMALL crack on the back of the phone).
He tried to reset it, and that failed. He did not open the phone, though.. and I don't have the tools necessary.
It is an LG-LS970, made in Korea.
Note:
It was rooted, but I removed the root about four weeks beforehand.
Any help is appreciated.. Thanks.

You tried getting into download mode and restoring the phone to stock with the 850MB bin file?

Try this.
Plug your phone in for a couple hours with a wall charger. If it stays off, great. If not, press and hold the power button for 20+ sec. That will turn it off. Plugged or plugged in, not sure which. Try both.
After a couple hours take it off the charger and boot into recovery. Vol down+ power release when capacitive lights come on. This should get you into "Stock" recovery. Which is what you should have if unrooted.
Then use power button to go down, and "factory reset". Use the capacitive menu key, far right key, to activate the reset. It should boot up. If not, turn it off 20+sec and charge it a couple more hours. Unplug it, then turn it on.
Give it a shot, and let's hope it works.

Bricked Phone?

I was flashing the new rmk sense rom today, and in the middle of the zip flashing the phone turned off. Now all the phone does is vibrate. I pulled the battery, tried to get into bootloader. Nothing happens to the phone the screen is black, it just vibrates 7 times and does nothing. It isnt even recognized by adb. HELP
Try this to get into the bootloader. Pull the battery out. Then when you put it in, hold the volume down button as soon as the battery gets put in. Then press the power button.

[Q] My phone freaked out on me?!

My phone froze, so naturally I held down the power button to get the restart option. Then it kept restarting over and over never making it past red eyeball looking screen. So I popped the battery out, waited a while and put it back in to turn back on. Nothing even if I try to charge it..nada, not eve the light on the front that lets you know its charging. Ive read about holding the volume down button + power to do a factory reset...nothing happens...Did I do something wrong or is phone fried?

I've tried to see if it would charge from the computer no luck either. Computer doesn't recognize a device

[Q] Won't boot into anything

Hey,
So I just got this GNex from eBay and it won't boot at all. If I plug it into the wall it will show the battery charging and show it filling up 3 times and then go black. I've tried plugging it into the computer and pulling the battery quickly to get it to boot and nothing. Is there anything I can do to flash/boot into the device or am I stuck relying on the store to do something about it? I've done several searches on the forum and google and I haven't found anything beneficial.
Thanks!
I would say it's dead. Try holding down the power button while holding down the volume up and volume down buttons all at once. If it should vibrate let go of the power button and see if it will enter fast boot. If not send it back.

thats the normal behavior when you plug it in, 3 times filling up then black. then when you press the power button, three times fill up then black. to me it sounds like your power button is broken.
I think power button is broken. Possibly volume keys as well. I'm able to boot if I plug into the PC and then wiggle the battery. There's a lock pattern so I can't get past it but I'm unable to adjust volume or turn the screen off/on. I'm going to bring it to the sprint store tomorrow and say it won't turn on.
Thanks!

Looks like the phone got wet. I can boot it up with the PC as mentioned before but its locked and I don't know the pattern/gmail account. Is there anyway to put a phone into USB debugging without getting into the phone? How about fast boot/recovery/download mode without volume down or power buttons?

[Q] Please help.phone won't turn on

My phone won't turn on. When I plug it into the charger the notification light and the buttons on the bottom of the phone blink on and off.
I am rooted but not unlocked running the new 4.1 update that I was using fine for hours. If anyone knows what's going on please let me know, thank you

Yea it worked and my phone was running fine for hours. Then I was running a benchmarking app, the phone shut off and now won't do anything but blink when I plug it into a charger.

I held down the buttons and nothing happens, if I plug it into a computer the lights don't flash, I get the red light like its charging but if I try to turn it on or get into to recovery I get the lg screen then it goes off and the red light and captive buttons flash again. Is it soft bricked?

possibly. the only thing i can really suggest is to lgnpst back to v9 which wont work because you get stuck at the 4glte screen but with everything re installed you should be able to get into stock recovery to either reapply the update or wipe /data i believe to fix it. im not 100% sure this will work so its a little risky

Where can I get lgnspt? I have been trying to find a link somewhere
pm'd
It seems I've run into the exact same problem. I was halfway through the update steps (hadn't even actually started the update itself) when my phone decided to just shut off (battery was fully charged and plugged in), and now it won't turn on. At best I can get it into fastboot, but can't go into recovery from there. If I plug it into a wall charger it just bootloops. Everything I've tried so far has led me nowhere.

If the lights are flashing it usually means the phone over heated. The only way I know to reset it is to do a battery pull. I've had to do it several times when using the overclock kernel.

This works perfectly. It's what I had to do. Make sure the phone is completely off, then hold vol down + power + home. When the capacitive buttons light up, release the buttons. It will bot into stock recovery, then do a factory reset. Wala!
This doesn't work for me at all, and I just used LGNPST to reflash v9. If I hold down those buttons, nothing happens. If it's plugged in and I hold them down, after 10-15s the charge light flashes fast (cap buttons don't light up). If I let go, the LG screen comes up for a few seconds and then the phone turns off.
You need to pull the battery. Afterwards itll boot fine
Btw its a known issue with this phone. Overheating causes it among other things

I wish it was that easy, but vol up + vol down while holding the power wont fix it when the lights are flashing like a siren.
You will need a small torx bit screwdriver, a philips screwdriver for the battery cable, and 2 pieces of tape to hold the buttons in place. A guitar pick also works good at seperating the case.

Phone just stopped turning on..

well...this kinda ruined my night yesterday...I went to a concert yesterday around 8 and my phone had 70% and I was checking facebook or something like that and without no notification or warning it froze and turned off on me. I figured it was a normal freeze..and I attempted to turn it back on and nothing happened. Went to my car to try to charge it and nothing. Not even a charging light. A day has passed after the concert was over (could not take pictures, thanks htc..) and now the "dead battery symbol" comes up and the orange light keeps BLINKING..to my understanding it means that it is not charging? What could it be..anybody could help me out .maybe a soft reset? no charging it for a couple of minutes?
Anything would help. Thanks
Try pressing and holding power and volume up?
I'm sure you've already tried that, but can you confirm that you have left it plugged in atleast for 5 hours continuously after this happened.

And hold the power and volume buttons down in a well lit environment, there's a "pocket check".
You can also try by hold the power and volume buttons UP
Thanks for the replies , i have tried those opctions. Holding the power and volume UP and thencanother try wih the DOWN the with both. It just blinks orange now. I just woke up and plugged it in again, am going to work and going to leave it like that, hopefully that does the trick. Should i call htc ? It hasnt even been a month since the phones came out.. I did not do anything to "kill" the battery
Ofcourse you may call Htc.
the same happened to me now.did u find a solution?????
Have you got delvolper options enabled, if so when connected to your computer you could try Adb reboot or Adb reboot bootloader

Well only thing I can suggest is you leave it on charge over night. Then try & power it on if no go try and hold the volume up and power button while plugged in for at least a minute if that Dosent work take it back where you got it from.

Unplug phone. Hold vol up and power for 10 seconds, let go, try to power on phone.
