Hello, want to use my czech O2 sim card in USA T-mobile T999 Galaxy S3. Can this work? If yes, then what to do exactly... flash via odin or toolkit t-mobile rooted stock rom or what?
Because when i Inserted my sim card, it wants sim network password. I tried that call number *#197... but that didnt worked.
Thanks,
Sounds like the phone needs to be unlocked. Here is the thread.

If you need to, yes, just Odin flash one of the root66 firmware.

Rooted and flashed JellyBeer4 and still it wants SIM network unclock pin DAMN! Any clue?:crying:
can i flash any rom or must stick always with t mobile roms if i have it rooted, clockworked and flashed cm 10.1 rom (but for tmobile) ?
You have to be using stock firmware/rom to use the unlock method in that thread. It has to be done from the stock touchwiz dialer, and your baseband/modem must be earlier than UVDMD5.
Is that whst you're asking?

Yea, it has UVDMD5 firmware. I also found that it needs to be lower. Downloading right now UVDLJC and we will see Thanks anyway.
EDIT: Yup, flashing UVDLJC worked like a charm ) Thread can be locked.

I would say no, however if you have the original code you can probably just use it again. Test it for us, be brave and take one for the fam
Flashed back to stock Tmobile rom using Odin phone was still sim unlocked

Not a problem everythings still unlocked ima try to find out where the difference is in the roms made a backup before and after ripping the rom apart to see if there are any differences
Good to know that some people are brave.
Friend asked to check what can be done to get it working on T-mobile network...
This is what I have accomplished so far...
Got phone with MG1
Service menu unlock didn't work...
Downgraded MDJ through ODIN to see if it helps... No luck...
Got root by flashing through ODIN CF-Auto-Root for T-mobile's m919
Unlocked using RegionLock Away.
Didn't have much time to test, but was able to make calls with T-mobile SIM
QUESTIONS...
1. What recovery to flash?
2. What ROMs can I use??? T-mobile's m919??? International 9500 or 9505?
3. Do these phones have locked bootloader? How to check without risking to brick it?
4. Anything else needs to be done??? I don't think we are in 4G market with T-mobile.
Would be great to flash SlimBean...

Yeah... I was all over that thread... My next step is flashing recovery... Which version of recovery to use? Goo Manager suggests the one that is used on Canadian 337 phones... Should I use it or manually flash T-mobile version for example?

OK...
There is no SGH-M919V or Videotron among supported on TWRP page.
Which one will it be? "Canada"? But there 2 versions of S4 in Canada. One is m919v (kinda like T-mobile) and 337 like AT&T
I read somewhere that Canadian TWRP for 337. Goo Manager just suggests Canadian recovery.
Another fact: some 919V owners run TWRP, but nobody specified which version...
So... Canadian or something different? There is no recovery that says it it for SGH-M919V
If it was me I'd use cwm for the T-Mobile s4

Flashed TWRP for Canadian S4, installed SlimBean for T-mobile S4...
Everything seems to work, but no T-mobile SIM to really test yet... Will have it in couple days...
well. they said it could not be done. but i did it. i downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.2. and so far everything is working. i used mobile odin pro. loaded the stock 4.1.2 rom but loaded the modem from 4.3. i have a working phone, sound and network.lets see how long it will work for.
and just let me add virgin s3 sgh-i747m
As far as I am aware it was never said this was not possible with mobile ODIN. Desktop ODIN is the issue because it attempts to downgrade the bootloader which is what bricks the phone. You can bypass the bootloader with mobile ODIN so therefore no bricking.

well maybe someone should post a thread about it. like i did. not something that is 377 pages long and a noob like me wont understand. keep it simple. basic directions and links to downloads. its good that you showed a link to how to use mobile oden. but some people don't understand half this stuff. i'm still learning the basics but could not take 4.3 any longer so i took a chance. bricked my phone 20 times trying different stuff and posted what i finally got to work so others can find it easier.

and the rest i downloaded from sammobile
the way i did it is i loaded the old stock file 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 in mobile odin but i loaded the modem file from the 4.3 that i got from link above. it will not change your bootloader but will give you a mix of 4.1.1 and 4.3. make sure you also select to root devise well updating. and use mobile oden pro. it's well worth the $5.00. it took me all of 2 min. fyi you have to load both roms to your sd card on the phone. and back up your phone first. it wiped mine when i did it.

Hi I just unlocked the note 2 att version to work for t-mobile by downgrading to firmware 4.1.1. Now I can use the phone for t-mobile. I now want to root and have an updated t-mobile based custom rom installed.
To achieve this must I first odin flash t-mobile's official 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) firmware and
then root and then install a t-mobile 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) based custom rom?
Or can I simple root and just install a 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) t-mobile custom rom?
Thanks!

you should be able to root 4.1.1 and I think you should be able to root it with the exynos abuse apk. if not cf auto root should handle it. then you can add recovery and flash any rom you wanted
I've done this too. I was wondering if international ROMs would work on the att note2 unlocked and on T-Mobile. I've searched around but I found it tough to get a strait answer. I will probably just try it and see but wanted to ask first.

Make sure you stick with your device's native modems. Don't try a T889 modem on an I317. You will be sad.

If you can get any tmo service at all, it is unlocked. If you really want to try the unlock again, just flash a 4.1.1 modem appropriate for your device's model number. Don't flash modems across device models.
Are you certain you are in an area that has tmobile LTE service?

There is no need to unroot before flashing in Odin. One thing I highly recommend is backing up your data before flashing in case something goes wrong.

With Samsung phones, it is not always possible to revert to a previous bootloader. Unfortuantely, I don't know the Note 3 well enough to say whether it can or can't be done. Personally, I always run the latest modem and bootloader on a Samsung phone, regardless of whether it will run a stock or custom ROM.
