Was wondering what it would take to theme all of my ROMs icons, without having to locate and replace each apps image.
There are a few ROMs out there like 'Hyperdrive' and the 'MIUI' ROM that have themed icons right from the get go and that's what I'd like to achieve.
Would anyone happen to know how I'd go about doing this?
If you want all of the icons themed you could look into an icon pack that has a high icon count. For example Goolors has around 860 themed icons.

I meant I wanted to theme all of the icons right from the get go, as in, as soon as the ROM boots up for the first time, you see themed icons instead of the default TouchWiz ones.

PLUS, you can try to vamp the notification bar.
CodeROM Nexus.Ace is your best shot yet if you want to resemble a Nexus S/original Gingerbread UI but it lacks the notif icons.
Go to UoT Kitchen then select the "Icons" tab, from there you can choose wether 'Androidian style' or create yourself a new set with green and grey colors.
..and oh, before you do that, flash this theme first. It orange-ify the TouchWiz thus making it more like an original GB UI.
@rhadrio
Nice clue boy...
Tks

You can edit the theme (Notif icons, fonts, etc.).
As for the launcher (homescreen layout, how the menu looks, etc.) no.
That is unless you're willing to install 3rd party launcher (LauncherPro, ADW etc.).

I'm using msturg29's New Senzation Mod at the moment. I really like the theme and it's running great so far. I'd like to change a couple things on it if I could. I really like the look of the bigger icons in TW over Go Launcher along with the 4 icon dock versus the 5 icon dock. Is it possible to flash or push a 4 icon dock version of TW to this rom? Also, if I want to change the default icon for each app, do I have to change the icon inside of each apk file?
Thanks! I did some searching around without much success, though I did find some stuff on how to change icons in the apk files.

As far as the launcher goes, you should be able to just grab a touchwiz launcher.apk from another rom and push it to /system/app. ("Should" being the keyword of course!!) I'm not familiar with that rom but I would think you could just grab the apk out of whatever stock rom it is based off of. ie, EG-30, EG-31, EL-13, etc... WHATEVER YOU DO, just make sure you do a nandroid back up FIRST so if it gets wonky on you, you can just restore back to your current settings.
For the icons, yes, you would have to change the icon in each apk provided you want to use a stock launcher (like touchwiz) and you want the icons in your app drawer to be themed. If you don't care about the app drawer and just want to change the icons on your homescreen(s), then you could just use desktop visualizer or a launcher like Go or ADW. If you are gonna change each individual apk, you'll just need to decompile them with one of the many tools floating around, swap out the icon (usually 72x72 and located in drawable-hdpi), recompile, and resign. Sounds like a lot but it is pretty easy.
Hi,
I am looking for a hint how to change the color of the bar icons in my CM7.2? The icons for WLAN, Battery and that stuff comes in a disgusting turquois style, I hate that. I would like to have the green color back like in the old version! How to do?
BTW: I use Launcher PRO, and not the AWD launcher. I tried it with AWD launcher and themes, but this only affects the "front", but not the system in the main bar on top of the screen. So I do NOT want to check themes or something, I am satisfied with it like it is, except color.
Thanks! ;-)
In app draver should be theme chooser, select system there.

Did you read my posting!?
I do NOT (!!!!!) want another theme!
I am satisfied with this one, the standard from installing.
I just want to change the main color of the CM System, (used in the battery icon, the WLAN-Icon and other stuff, right on the right top of the phone for example) from turquois to the green and old one.
You can certainly change the colour by editing framework stuff. But I would like to inform you that it is not easy but not impossible.
You will need to use adb and stuff. Sorry I don't remember the exact details/step.
Plus be warned if done incorrectly it can semi-brick your phone. I will insist its better to look for other CM7 themes for theme chooser. The are hundreds of them.

You dont have to install another theme, it should be in the themechooser already named System, but CM7 defaults to their own Cyanbread theme.
You could use UOT kitchen too.

I feel like someone should say this... You do realize you're running CYANogenMod, right?
Just kidding. Variety is the spice of life. Hopefully one of these guys will be able to show you an easy way to accomplish this.
Hi, sorry for this noob question. I am currently using Go Launcher and I tried to flash the Kalagas theme on my S3. The status bar, the dialer, etc is updated. However, the icons on the home screen still belongs to the theme of the Go Launcher.
Can I still use go launcher with the Kalagas theme, and yet still use the icons from Kalagas theme? Thanks!

Yes you can, but you will have to try and get the theme icons out of the Zip of the Theme you flashed, and put them into your gallery, I'm not sure about Go Launcher, but you can click and hold, let go when the menu for that app comes up and Edit, change the icon by clicking the icon on the edit screen and select the image from your gallery.
Hope this helps.
I am not sure if this is in the right spot but it said Q&A so thinking its a good place to start. I am looking to find out if I can change the status bar icons to be colors. I amd running [JB:CM10:HYBRID][OFFICIAL]ParanoidAndroid 2.55 for T989[18 Nov 2012] (Love it btw) so I guess the best way to word this is I use go sms pro for txting and the icon that comes up when I get a txt is a very nice noticable green color and I know I have a txt in a quick glance, I also have the facebook app and when I get a notice from facebook its a white and so are my mail and all the other icons so it is hard tell the diffrents between them. so I was wonding if there was a way to change this or if there is a mod for it. if anyone needs more info I am happy to post it. Thank you
If you would like to modify some of the notification bar icons you would have to modify some images in the system framework of your phone which would be difficult if it's your first time.
The easier way to change them, is that since you're using a CM10 ROM you can try out some CM10 Themes from the Play Store. Click here to view all of the available themes.
All the themes will help you change the overall look of your phone, that includes the notification icons. You will just need to apply the themes with the Theme Chooser application. Cheers!
