[Q] on screen nav buttons - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

hi everyone. was wondering if there is a way to swap the placement of the back and switch windows/application on screen buttons. I would prefer to have the back button on the right since that is how it is on my galaxy s4 and am use to it being on the right side of the home. button. any help would be appreciated.

Me too (also have an S4). I would love to add the settings button also. Ideally, I guess I need extended desktop and whatever that half circle bar that's hidden until you touch the right side of the screen is called...

[Q] Stock browser: quick toolbar + fullscreen, no soft buttons??

Hi all,
I'd really like to know whether setting quick toolbar + full screen browsing into the stock browser does hide the software button of ICS. I mean: does it really have a fullscreen browsing that way, can I use the whole screen?
A screenshot would be really appreciated!
You know what: I own a Galaxy Note and I cannot make up my mind whether to change it or not for a Galaxy Nexus. I have an ipad2 too and maybe a note is too much. But I like big screen and maybe a nexus with its 4.65 screen it's the perfect size. However, browsing on a 4.65 screen with ICS software buttons, it's like browsing on my old Galaxy S2 in terms of visible screen. Thus browsing in real full screen would be great!
Thanks in advance
The softbuttons are still visible in fullscreen mode.
There's the labs feature quick controls which hides the address bar, also a labs feature to hide the notification bar, however nothing removes the soft buttons, they just turn into dots and dim.

Thanks for your answer!
Then the best I can achieve is to remove address bar and notification bar.
Such a pity!

Who knows, maybe one day devs will be able to hide them, like it happens for videos.
That would be great! I mean: when you have the quicktoolbar, they could insert there a back button and we could have the whole screen estate to browse!
That's what I'm hoping happens, if eventually someone manages to get them to hide from a swipe down then reappear with a swipe up or press of the power button or something, It would be awesome
Not, until we can access the bookmark via Quick Control as well.
Currently, when you enable Quick Control, you need to long-press the back button to access the bookmark.
There is no other way ...

Actually, if you go to the new tab shortcut, the bookmarks tab is in the top right next to the new tab and options button.

[Q] Can the ICS button bar order be changed?

I just upgraded from a Galaxy S to the Nexus Galaxy and the button bar on ICS is the opposite of my Galaxy S and I use the "back button" a lot. I would like to move the back button back to the bottom right because I am right handed. I guess if I were lefty the change would be welcome but I have a harder time hitting it on the far left specially with the larger size of the phone. Many thanks in advance to anyone with answers!
Currently running romans AOKP rom which has this built in. You can add and move the buttons and also change the white to any other colour. All built in without further modding. Excellent rom.

[Q] Enable on screen menu button?

Does anybody know how to enable the onscreen menu buttons? For example, in chrome on the Galaxy Nexus the menu button is shown as 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. The actual menu button on the Galaxy Note 2 is so hard to hit using one hand but the on screen one is so easy.
Try this:

Sent from my Note 2
Thank you but that's not quite what I'm looking for. That thread shows how to add the on screen buttons on the bottom. I don't want the onscreen buttons, I just want the menu button that appears in the apps in the top right corner.
EDIT: I figured it out, I'm going to update the OP.

Has anyone figured out how to enable the 3 dot vertical menu button on the Verizon Galaxy Note 2? I had CM10 on my S3 and its driving me nuts not having it on the Note 2! Any input would GREATLY be appreciated!

Coming from a Galaxy Nexus I miss having my back button the left side and the menu on the right, is it possible to swap these on the GS3?
Thanks!

Captivate and home button on side of screen?

Just got a used Note 10.1 2014 and the first thing buggin me is when using the Note I find it it difficult with the captivate and home button along the bottom. Is there an app that can move them to the right or left side of the screen? While holding it in landscape mode it just seems to make sense.

Have you tried pie control? Its a cool menu app that you can configure in any number of ways. If its not to your liking just search for "soft keys" in the play store and you will have many apps to choose from that are intended to do exactly what your looking to do. Some will require a rooted device, others won't. Pie control is a wonderful menu alternative and I know you can put soft keys in it too. heres a link for it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol
