Has anyone tried this?

Just disable the apps you don't use and you're set.

Also keep in mind if you do not have a 100% bone stock image, you usually can not get official updates and would likely have to reflash a stock image anyway, so it seems kind of pointless to me.

If you're going as far as flashing a custom recovery you might as well just root the darn thing.

I have a rooted s2 which I just rooted the other day, but now I'm getting an alert For an update. I don't wanna lose root.
is there anyway to block it?
or update it and not lose root?
thanks in advance

Yes. And if you are on a custom rom it may just bootloop. You may be able to find an ota killer on here.

Quick question since you said you just rooted the other day; what's your current build?

There's also this, don't know if you have seen; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774282
edit: It has been found not to be build specific. Meaning it was put out when FF18 came but it has been used after and stopped FH13 as well)
And then this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31192830&postcount=29
But if you want to update and stay stock (you'll have to odin/mobile odin a custom recovery) check out this handy thread by Rwilco: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
One easy thing to do would also be to just get a no-data rooted one-click. that way you keep root and you also get a new build.
Anyone figure out yet how to root the Note 2 Sprint once it has already been upgraded? Without tripping the counter and not on a custom recovery. Just stock LJC root with everything updated including the radio.
same as the normal root.

Normal root works on LJC? Like cf-root?

Yeah it works nevermind

Would somebody please be kind enough to pm me the camera apk for a note 2 (sph-L900) on android 4.1.2?
I attempted to use a multi Window manager that patched a file. .and apparently broke my camera. I then restored my nandroid backup but the camera is still broken. I'm going that installing the apk again will resolve the issue. If not then I guess it's a session with Samsung Kies and Odin..
Help please?

Does this camera have the voice commands/controls? I'm asking because the camera app in the ROM I'm using doesn't have it.

I'm using the latest NoWizAOSP. I tried taking the apk from a ROM that has it and pushing it to System but it always FC's. Even with correct permissions.

Don't believe that you can. Well at least from my experience I've never seen a stock clock work with AOSP.

I haven't done this in a while so I don't remember how to go about it. I want to go from White Out ROM v4 to the last ota ics unrooted. Would I just Odin back to it, and delete superuser? Or is it more then that? Thanks in advance.

Well, if you don't care about resetting binary counter, just grab the FL24 Original Tar from the Repo. If you do want everything 100%, then use Triangle Away while you're still rooted. Then flash the tar.
(Do the standard and backup, etc, etc)

Pc odin. Place in pda spot. Only thing you need checked is auto reboot. If you want to feel really secure about proper partioning, you can also get the pit and repartion though the low ship has the pit built in and should partion correctly.
And it happens. I have brain-farts multiple times a day.

If I'm rooted with custom rom, can I receive ota 4.4.2, and install?
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
No you won't be able to
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
As an OTA no. But it won't take the devs long to come up with a way to load it via other means.
OTA FYI means Over The Air update. So yea considering we rooted are phones we don't sadly unless you unroot, go back to stock with stock recovery. To my understanding

K thanks
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Be careful with new 4.4.2 updates, locked bootloader. You might be stuck with that ROM for a while if you do upgrade.
