[Q] Xperia SL JB issue? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

So a couple of weeks ago i updated my SL to the official (and latest) sony JB 4.1.2, it was working great until a a few days ago when i was watching youtube videos at night, when i put my phone away i had the wifi on and woke up in the morning to find it dead, i did not worry and simply put it on charge on a wall socket, i've had this thing happening to me ever since i was on ICS, nut after a while i checked to see if the phone was charging but to my surprise it gave ABSOLUTELY no signs of life.I've had it charging for 4+ days now but am getting absolutely no LED responses or any other responses of any sort,I've tried force restarting it and a couple other tricks but am still getting NO response.
additional info: im rooted w/ CWM recovery, my bootloader is LOCKED and apart from this i have made NO modifications to the phone

Thank you to anyone who can help solve my problem!

Try to connect to pc with flashtool open look if it find your device...
Maybe you can flash a ftf of stock jelly bean

Sorry, PC doesn't detect my phone!

Try this

[Q] Bricked x10 mini. completely dead except for red led

Hi i had just flashed my phone back to standard rom with seus, and had rooted and was removing bloatware.
i used ADB Mask Controller for removing files because it was faster, but on the list of non essential apps i chose the ones a i wanted to get rid of, and accidentally clicked "delete all", because i thought it meant the all the files on the list. after that, i rebooted and the phone was dead, seus cant find it or anything, but now a day later when i press the power button, the led on the front blinks red a couple of times...
is it completely dead or is there a chance of getting it up and running again?
try flashtools
you should try bin4ry's flash tools it works most of times, there are a few tutorials around the forum but in general you just have to turn the phone off completely start flash tools select flash, select firmware and connect your phone pressing the back button just like in seus , also try posting problems like this in the general section, i know i'm no mod, but it helps keeping th forum clean , but don't sweat it, i think we all have done this when we started (i know i did XD)
Sorry if i posted it the wrong place, didnt think of other places cuz my bookmark leads me there.
Thanks for replying, but my problem is that i cant turn it on, when i press the power button, the only thing that happens is the led flashes red a few times.
Blinking red means that battery is empty. You can to charge it a bit with AC charger and then try to boot the phone.
yeah, sorry for the scolding , and i think it flashes red a few times because the battery drained, and flashtools is a pc program like seus, you don't have to turn your phone on, you connect it turned off, it is for flashing firmware to your phone and i recommended it because i think the reason your phone died is because of the missing apps, think of flashtools as a much MUCH better program for repairing your phone than the pc companion one or seus
also, here is a link to the main post for flashtools

edit: wiilweer beat me to it , and great port by the way, haven't tried it myself because my xrecovery is not working, but it looks great, specialy the 1000 in benchmark =O, excellent work men, thanks for the froyo port and your work
Thanks ill take a look at it again, hadnt seen the thread u linked now.
its been charging for a few hours and still just blinking... and it was at 100% when i started messing it up
maybe it is a stupid thing but...
have you tried
1) center hardware button + power for a few seconds?
2) disconnecting and reconnecting battery?
in the worst case you can try charging it with an external charger
but this means disassembling your mini:

The issue is not batery, its system files.
Do you have recovery instaled?
If no, download the flash tool and e10i firmware from this thread:

Happy flashing.
Looks like its working now.
it wouldnt charge the battery, so i took the battery from another x10 mini, and then i flashed it. pc companion could find it and flash, with power from another battery
Dunno why it wouldnt charge the battery, maybe i deleted stuff that had something to do with power management.
Thanks for helping, i was already looking to buy another phone.
Thread belongs in the general section.
i have the very same problem !! ... WHAT did u dooo 2 fix this ?? am hopeless
try charging it and not with usb, if it wont start, try an external power source.
does it blink red when u press power botton?
Just want to share this, I do not create this procedure, and I forgot where I seen this.
1. Open SEUS, one it ask you to disconnect and connect. follow the next procedure.
2. Connect your X10 mini or Pro. Disregard SEUS Procedure
3. Press the Middle+Right+Power Button at the same time.
4. Once Screen Goes Blank, release all button except the middle.
5. now you could Update using SEUS.
Hope that help.

if the procedure above is not working you should try to recharge the battery or use one from another mini charged before trying that cause if battery is drained you won't be able to repair firmware...

what is it doing?
I spent the whole yesterday afternoon and night and this morning trying to figure out what happened to my 'dead' x10 mini.
It has been lying there for over a year since I last tried reviving it.
Long story short, I forgot that I had flashed miniCM kernel on it. For some reason it just entered boot loop with Sony Ericsson logo and restarting and refused to charge. Then tried SEUS and Sony Update supposedly 'flashed' successfully, but I still could not get it to boot nor charge. Flashtool also was used to try a couple of other ROMs, until it dawned upon me I should flash back miniCM ROM since I think I had last used it year ago.
Voila it worked and I pressed BACK several times while the nAa logo came up. CWM was back. I jumped for joy... now I'm charging it and also downloading miniCM10 with gapps.
I really hope this helps - and that it would work for some of you out there in deep frustration. All the best! :good:

Looks like I went ahead of myself.
It managed to stay on in CWM... and I even managed to install update.zip and gapps, but once out of it the phone simply refuses to boot.
SEUS managed to flash stock ROM on it as well. However, even after leaving it hooked to the USB overnight (it only gets warm from this, not wall plug charger), it constantly looping in a flash mode (green LED) and then low batt mode (blinking red LED), it failed to boot up successfully on its own. After flashing the sony ericsson or custom ROM logo, it would go into a boot loop until the battery drains. Upon connecting back to wall charger, the first time it actually flashes real quick split seconds battery indicator of 2 out of 3, then go into the said boot loop again.
I really dunno if the battery's fried or did I do something wrong to hard brick it.

[Q] No Boot

Just to say that this is my first post on the ENTIRE FORUMS . Hopefully I'll get to meet some of the devs on here as well as the normal community users .
Previously, I had a Xperia Neo port of ICS on my Xperia Play- it worked perfectly fine but was pretty laggy, so I decided to downgrade to the original Gingerbread OS.
The downgrade (via Flashtool) worked perfectly and the problems only started after an OTA (Over The Air) update arrived. I clicked 'Update', it went through the normal shutdown and install stages but never booted back up. After this, I could only get into flashmode and not fastboot mode so I could not simply reflash the boot.img to make it boot again. I went back into Flashtool and reflashed the firmware that I used to downgrade with, and it didn't work and the phone stayed off.
I did some research on this and apparently the OTA update stops the phone from booting if it's rooted, it linked to a patch (.ftf firmware) that said it will solve the problem but will relock the bootloader (and unroot it, replacing the DRM files so it will boot). After this, the phone does not vibrate when the power button is pressed, it just flashes the LED red three times. I've tried flashing different firmwares and now the flashmode cuts out (usually in the middle of flashing system.sin- don't know if this might be the result of a corrupted partition) AND to top that I can only get it to flashmode if I keep the battery out for a little while between flashes, it never goes to flashmode by unplugging the USB and plugging it back in again.
What I want to ask is, because the bootloader is locked again, Sony can't detect that it's been rooted once before, right? Also, because of the suspected corrupted partition, Sony can't access any logs and should just replace the phone under warranty (it's a year old next month), right?
Sorry for the n00bz questions, I just don't want to send it to Sony (It's already been booked in for a repair) and they reply that the warranty isn't valid because they somehow found out that it's been rooted once before- it costs £10 for them to send it back:victory:!
UPDATE:
If I leave the phone plugged in, it sometimes tries to boot (Sony Ericsson logo comes onto the screen) but a phone and an exclamation mark comes on the screen. After five seconds or so, the phone reboots.
Sounds like your battery is dead

Yeah... could be. It was on something like 20% when I flashed it back to Gingerbread yesterday and it wasn't on charge during the update so it might have lost charge which in turn failed the update.
Will report back when I've charged it up a bit (half an hour should get it to around 30%).

It now stays on the flashmode which is a good sign- thanks for the battery tip !
However, it's still not booting and it's not going to the screen with the phone and exclamation mark since I tried to flash with the R800x firmware. I'm giving myself until around 11:00AM tomorrow otherwise I'm putting the normal default firmware on it and sending it in for repair.
Reflash a ftf file or update using seus if you got a locked bootloader (I suppose you don't have already), that works for me when I got exclamation mark too.
try re-lock youre bootloader alreasy?
i attach the ftf file, after that repair youre phone using pc companion.
i hope it helps you boot again
EDIT:
Please refer to this tutorial where i got it
[Tutorial] Relock bootloader!
Thanks all for helping- it seemed to be a battery issue here where I think something made the battery drain really quickly.
I didn't make anything better when the battery cut out when it was flashing half way- I think this might of been the reason for the phone with the exclamation mark.
I let it charge for a bit and was really surprised when I saw 'Sony Ericsson' on the screen and even more so when the boot animation came up!
It's now been reflashed with Doomkernel and GTA finally works great on it at 1.4GHZ .
Thanks to you all for your suggestions- really appreciated .

[Q] Screen problems, Butt Sweat in R800x

On Wednesday, I was helping a friend move on a nice, hot day. I was sweating like a filthy pig and my phone was in my pocket and within a few hours it would not turn on when I tried to do so. That night I really didn't know what was wrong and the next morning I tried to turn it on and the red LED would flash 3 times in succession. I looked this up and they said "dead battery." Sure enough, I charged it and it took a minute for the LED to turn on, and as it charged it was red, then orange, then green. But even once fully charged, when I tried to turn it on it would only vibrate, but no screen action whatsoever. Note: the battery was at around 60% when the phone quit responding. The next morning it was dead. I have had the phone for a year now and the battery will last me at least 2 days if I don't play games and such.
The next morning, when using the flashtool it would go into blue LED'd fastboot and green LED'd flash mode. I thought I had backed up everything, but somehow those files were nowhere to be found. So I flashed the original 2.3.3 firmware, and still nothing. I used PC Companion and it said "Problem: The phone/tablet contains modified software that cannot be updated. Details: Sony Update Engine failure (error 2003)." I contacted Sony and I am still awaiting a response. So, on friday I'm ready to take this turd into the Verizon shop and I turn it on and wait about 30 seconds and I get the SE logo. It loads just fine. I set it up and try to update, but it won't allow me. I'm thinking, great, I'm stuck with 2.3.3... until I turn the screen off and try to turn it back on. And again, nothing. No response. So I'm thinking I will bring it in Saturday. I re-lock the bootloader in some attempt to hide that I rooted the phone, and flashed the 2.3.3 again. Note: I rooted my phone in December and have had no problems. I didn't flash any ROMs or Kernels. I am a simple man.
Saturday morning, after my phone has been off for 10 hours, it turns back on again. Same thing happens. Also, I spent a while on Thursday, Friday, and today trying to research and solve this problem. My brain hurts. But alas, I only had it off for 3 hours and it turned back on, and it did the same damned thing when it turned off. It simply doesn't turn back on. I don't know if it's the screen, or if there is moisture under there, and I haven't researched taking it apart yet. Any advice?
Hum...
Did you try with the software : Flashtool v0.9.11.0?
and flash one of those FTF file?
> Sony Ericsson Xperia Play > Xperia Play Android Development > [FIRMWARE][FTF] Collection of Xperia Play R800a/i/at/x firmware
or
> Sony Ericsson Xperia Play > Xperia Play Android Development > Xperia Play Index - ROM'S, FIRMWARE, KERNEL'S, GUIDE'S, THEMES, MOD'S
or
> Sony Ericsson Xperia Play > Xperia Play Android Development > [FIRMWARE] Working Xperia Play FTF Collection (AndroidFileHost)
I downloaded the newest version of flashtool, (9.11), and I downloaded the "Poo-Tang/Xperia Gamer" R800x Verizon 2.3.3 (CDMA) a few days ago, and flashed it already. Other information: When I attach the phone to the computer, it makes the docking and undocking sound, but the normal menu for accessing the phone does not show up, even when the phone actually came on recently. That is abnormal. Also, flashtool states that my phone is still Rooted, although I supposedly re-locked the bootloader. These last two comments may be pointless, but I figure the more information I give, the better. Any other ideas, kind sir?
Not that much...
It looks like you can connect into fastboot mode (search button - blue led) so you can use this command:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
or recovery mode (back button - green led). And you can flash...
When you turn on it vibrate, means the kernel start. But you can't enable debuging. Can't use adb.
And the SD card doesn't show-up in windows, means the system doesn't finish to load.
Correct?
So just flash the good Ftf and send back to Verizon shop if it's under waranty.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I ended up doing. Luckily, it's under warranty. But thank you for sending me those other links with the ROMs and Kernels, I will be using them with the new phone, as well as properly backing everything up.

[Q] Phone won't charge nor Fastboot / Flashmode

Hey everyone,
after dropping my S3 two days ago which lead to a highly damaged screen (not working anymore) like two days ago, I got a new Arc S from a friend. As I said, the phone is new, and unused.
I've been trying to update to Android 4.3 yesterday, followed some tutorials I found here. I installed the Dark Kernel trough fastboot, then tried to flash the Dark JB rom. But nevermind, this didn't work, so I decided to flash back to stock kernel + rom.
I succeded in doing this, but had the, as I see, common 100% battery problem. Didn't think about one thing. The phone won't charge when the battery is on 100%. So my battery went empty, but whenever I want to charge it, it doesn't because the phone kinda thinks it is on 100%.
Now, I wanted to wipe the battery cache, which isn't possible because I cannot load fastboot mode, and what I've been trying aswell, cannot load flashmode neither.
I don't know what to do to be honest, I hope some of you guys can help me out!
regards
The battery issue can usually be solved by flashing new kernel(s), then returning to the original one.
If you have another Arc (S) available, charge the battery there, then put the battery back and then try to connect. Phone can not be detected due to no power at that moment.

At first, I'm sorry for those awful grammar mistakes I made in my first post
I do not have another SE mobile available to be honest, but I understood what you mean. Thanks for answering me this fast.
I charged the phone for like an hour when it was turned of completely, so now it is up again (idk for how long). Trying to enter fastboot now.

[Q] starnge problem with my Xperia acro s

hey guys, i have an acro S, its bootloader unlocked and rooted, with 6.2.b.0.211 firmware, a while ago i got an anoying notification saying that there is an update, so i tried to update but because its rooted it wouldnt update the normal way, then i flashed 6.2.b.1.96 kernel only, it was good for 2 weeks, but then today i got a red led, and screen was black, then i almost got a heart attack because i knew it was soft brick or something, i read about it and searched for fix, but after a moment when i tried letting the phone on wall charger till red light disapear, the screen went on, and every thing was normal, relef :victory: , so now i wanted the experts to know about that, and i want to ask for a stable way to get a rooted full 6.2.b.1.96 firmware, or the latest, or even a custom room if its better than the xperia one, tnx for reading and hope you all a brick free day XD
