These are very exciting times for Ubuntu Touch. Not only is the Ubuntu Edge, an Ubuntu super-phone, being funded right now, but we are also making lots of progress on getting Ubuntu running perfectly on phones and tablets near you.

I blogged about this a couple of times now, but Ubuntu Touch has been ported to LOTS of devices in the meantime. If we consult our Touch Devices list, there are 45 working ports, with 30 more in progress, and across 21 different brands. This is awesome. Now it’s time to bring all of them into the fold.
There are two things we have to do:
Update some of the ports to the flipped container model. This switch has been happening over the last couple of weeks, but we’re there now. Android bits now run on top of an Ubuntu container. Some of the images still need to be updated to benefit from this.
Enable the ports in phablet-flash. Yes, you read correctly. Since the announce of the Touch preview, we only supported four devices (Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10). We always wanted to make it easier to flash all other devices too, and now we’re almost there: If you as an image maintainer make some information available, phablet-flash will soon be able to pick it up.
Updating your image to the new world order is something we are discussing today, 1st August, in #ubuntu-touch on irc.freenode.net. We are having an Ubuntu Touch Porting Clinic today. So bring your device, your questions and we’ll help you get set up for the new image formats.
If you want your images to be supported by phablet-flash, that can be easily arranged too. Follow this process, to document how the flashing of your image works. Check out the latest branch of phablet-flash (not yet landed in trunk) to try out if your image works: lp:~sergiusens/phablet-tools/flash_change.
As always: if you have any questions, talk to us on #ubuntu-touch on irc.freenode.net or on the ubuntu-phone mailing list.

Not gonna happen
Unfortunately I don't think there will ever be an Android ROM that works on P3600. The Android image would have to be adapted, then drivers for P3600 components would have to be developed and tested.
As you see this would require a lot of effort from a manufacturer team. And even more from a non-official team that doesn't has access to a lot of inside information about the phone components and would have the blocking point of having to reverse engineer a lot of stuff.
For Samsung Omnia i900 that is a WM6.1 device from 2008, there were some developers that started an android project for omnia. They released an android image that could be booted from the SD card so you don't have to give up from WM. Still this android image has a lot of issues that during the last 1,5 year it hasn't solved. No phone, sound only works on loudspeaker, has no camera support, no wifi and a lot of other goodies that the phone has. Some of the hardware buttons don’t yet work, touchscreen occasionally freezes, and sometimes the whole screen turns black, shows streaky text or other glitches, which have to be fixed with a restart. Basically it is only usefull to play angry birds (if it runs).
If you want Angr Bird, Can play it on PC !!!

I think, We need lite Rom for phone, Symbian or Java Rom for p3600. Android is great but I think can't install it on p3600. We can think about other rom and os for it.
Essentially, in an attempt to learn C# better, I had an idea for an app (windows) to have a database of devices (only ET4G now because it isn't done and it's the phone I have) and allow easy access to ADB commands, rooting (Device-specific, wiki links, etc.)
So, for example the ET4G screen may contain things like (it's not finished yet, so it could contain any number of features):
Device Status
Root
ADB Remount
Built-in ADB shell
Wikis
I don't know how my development schedule will work for this since i have many other projects (that are real production projects), but in my spare time I'm planning to finish a working prototype
I just want to see if anybody would be interested in it, it is noob friendly and I already started it as a learning project

most awesome, I remember we had something like this on the samsung vibrant, really useful
Great job, and thanks for the effort.

If enough interest would be generated I think it'd be cool to make a PC rom manager - type application. I dont have lots of interest in auto rooting and stuff since we already have apps for that.
I'd like to make a full application with a database of devices and list of roms/kernels etc. But itll take a lot of time and I don't have that eventually I think this can come together well.

I am trying to port the Android L Calculator to 4.1.2
I have successfully decompiled, edited XML, and recompiled (without using my framework-res.apk in CMD prompt)View attachment Calculator_signed_zipaligned.apk
I have tried decompiling, editing XML, and recompiling using the framework-res.apk from my phone but i get an error:

I am using these two tutorials to try to port this app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2476050, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2195680
This is my first time trying to port anything, so forgive me if I'm way off track.
Here is my successful (?) compilation of the edited apk. [SEE ATTACHED FILE]
If a Dev could take a look (or someone more knowledgeable than myself) and perhaps give me a tip or two I'd appreciate it.
Trying to show my fellow JB users some love in getting us some newer apps. If I can backport this successfully I will gladly try backporting many other apps from Lollipop and other OS.
Thanks for any help I may receive!
I've tried installing this signed apk but I get a parsing error...
No one? Wow.... Please someone help me out here. I'm using the cyanogenmod calculator but I would like a smaller foot print on my device. I'm trying to do this myself with no prior experience so that maybe I can learn something. Is this a developer forum or what?

You won't be able to port the Android L calculator that way. It uses a lot of 5.0 only features and it was not written to be backwards compatible. That's the bad news.
The good news, I already ported it, though there are lots of bugs. Download Android Studio and my code (there's a Download ZIP in the bottom right). Then open Android Studio and "import" the unzipped folder. Build -> Generate Signed ZIP to create an apk.
I am the guy who writes the CM Calculator. So, I guess, warning in advanced. Some features have already been ported - it's not a stock build.
Okay thanks for the heads up.

Hi friends... iam replying U for the feed back by our wp7 devs.
Some asking me how to install, you can use xapdeploy app or via pc with windows phone deploy tools.
And some for update, ya I will update it soon I have some trouble of policy allow problem on some native codes. Wait for update soon coming up.
And some for next platform like wp8 and 10, please have a try if any one has a better device and reply in this form now.
I think you need a wproot tool app first for policy trust
Iam wait for your feedbacks...
To improve.
Not like it was already telegraphed, but this probably marks the official end of support for our venerable Find 7.
Thoughts? Comments? Anyone surprised at this point?

an end to what little support it had..and no, it's not surprising.
No loss really, their ROMs were never any good. Mine is on Nougat thanks to OmniROM but I went back to my Huawei Mate 7 as a daily driver for a while, now moved on to the Axon 7.
A collection of 7's ?
The Find 7 is being passed down to my eldest daughter. It stays on non modded Omni 7.1 and will look to sell the Mate 7, fantastic phone, just that I wanted dual 4G SIMs, thus the Axon. I offered the Mate to my wife but she said no, too big and will stick with her Oppo F1f.
The Axon is flying well under the radar IMO. Very good phone. Mine is on official and non modded Nougat. Waiting to see if Oreo comes.
The Find 7 and F1f are the only Oppo's I will ever buy, never again. Won't buy a One Plus either.
Hi All,
Need help...
If any one has backups, please share. Recently I took the find7a(9006) from my friend, which is almost bricked, and i am unable to work on. Please share the stock room (color os), recovery image files, etc...

Do you need yet from some stock room(OPPO Find7a) and recovery image files?
While Oppo's support for the Find 7[a] was beyond appalling, there were some knowledgeable guys on that forum whose posts helped me more than once.
One of them save my Find 7 from eternal loop...
God blessi him! I own him some beers!
