T-Mobile S4 on At&t unable to get LTE? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Mine come with the Cingular.wap APN I changed it to the Lte pta it lost internet connection

You need to change your APN to the ATT LTE and make sure it's set to LTE/GSM. Got a friend's T-Mo S4 up and running on ATT.. everything works flawlessly.

If you "found" it, then yes you should do the right thing and try to get it back to them. In any case, if/when the owner reports it as lost or stolen, the IMEI would be blacklisted and you'd have a useless GS4.

Yeah that's true. Well it don't matter i got my nexus 4 and Motorola Atrix HD all running official CM10.2

Golly thanks. Never would have thought of that. Any clues on which forums to search? The ATT forums pulled up nothing for me.
No way I've found around it.. don't know what he is talking about.

Search "GSLEON APN Unlock" in AT&T Development. I'd post a link if I wasn't on my phone.
Edit: Scratch that. Can't find it in there anymore. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Anyway if that is what you are talking about adding an non lte apn can be done but that is nit the same thing as unlocking it enabling manual network selection.

Is it something in the SIM that locks it?
i would greatly appreciate if someone found it!
What are you guys trying to do with this? When I go through it seems to be unlocked I can choose att and T-Mobile and I'm on att network

Is that all it takes? Coolio. What is the best way to unlock? Also, I'm not worried about LTE vs 4G , just carrier selection.
oh im not unlocked either phone is just rooted running my rom
Would unlocking get carrier selection working?
I'm not sure I have carrier selection and I'm not unlocked

Just rub a little salt in the wound why doncha... lol. That is where I wanna be. I get into areas where the ATT signal is weak but present, and the phone will go on a roaming network. If I reboot it comes back up on ATT. Might have to go the root/rom route. Unless unlocking will get me there...

For those of you using straight talk are we allowed to bring our galaxy nexus' onto their carrier? I really can't afford to get rid of this baby

As long as it is a GSM Nexus, then yes. They use either ATT or TMobile towers.

Yes you can bring any AT&T or T-Mobile compatible device to Straight Talk. Just choose at the time of order whether you want AT&T or T-Mobile service. The GSM GNex can do either one.

Basically those are your two options. Considering you won't get LTE when you leave Verizon, and its a huge hassle to flash, I'd just sell it buy a GSM model and put it on a GSM prepaid carrier. Faster speeds and less hassle on your end.

Ya its a big hassle when compared to just buying a Straight Talk (or any other carrier) SIM and just putting it in the phone.
Not to mention that on Cricket you'll be stuck on EVDO 3G, which is quite slow often.

I have at&t straight talk and I get hspa+ speeds a lot. Some people call it 4g. I would consider it like 3.5g. But I can pull like 4Mb down, which is fast enough for me

Check out the massive prepaid thread. Popular options right now are T-Mobile Monthly 4G, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile and Net10.

You get HSPA+, the faster-than-normal-3G connection. Plenty of info out there about it. No LTE on prepaid carriers just yet. The GSM Galaxy Nexus doesn't have LTE either way though, so the only way you'll get LTE is to go Verizon (or Sprint lol).
Speeds will be dependent on your area and network saturation. YMMV, I'd expect 2-7mbps down / 1-4mbps up.

I thought the Verizon version was locked down and has to be unlocked by Verizon. Are you rooted right now?
This thread seems to show that it works. Dunno about LTE connectivity but it looks like it works for HSPA.

Some phones (made for specific carriers) have both CDMA and GSM capabilities, ie. the Verizon Note 2, iPhone 5
I am rooted..found out lastnight they are partially sim unlocked because you cant get LTE connectivity unless you fully unlock it.

Some have one. The VZW one does. I think it is specifically for roaming as the device is definitely gsm capable.

It's for the LTE network on Verizon. The SIM card had all the LTE sign in information and for foreign sim cards when global.
Having said that the Verizon note 2 is already sim unlocked (you do need root to change apns). You will get edge data and if you're in areframed t mobile you'll get HSPA, I'm honestly not sure about LTE.
I know this because I've owned both and was very active in the Verizon forum as well. I also thought about this exact move, but choose to sell my Verizon and buy atmo version. Better compatibility and wifi calling

How did you get it unlocked so fast, through T-Mobile? Just wondering, I also paid full price for mine.
Does the T-mobile Note 3 have the 850 MHz LTE band (like the ATT one does)?
