Having some problems with some apps on this tablet....mainly instagram instantly closes and says encountered a problem. flipboard will load text but no pictures...engadget freezes and crashes to name a few (obviously hbogo etc. aren't updarted yet for 4.3, but instagram?) . Am I the only one? I thought it was from my tibu backup from my phone, but formatted after I rooted and installed direct from play store and still same issue.
Flipboard is working fine for me.

My Contacts application is suddenly force closing every time I want to activate it. I think it is fc-ing after the new WhatsApp update. When I checked my contacts within Whatsapp, it suddenly fc-ed. And from now on it is fc-ing all the time.
Allready removed the app, data, (dalvik) cache. I even installed a new rom (which I wanted to do anyway ). But then again, after restoring everything with TBP: Force Close.
What do you guys suggest I can do? It is now becoming quite annoying.
Run fix permissions. That fixes a lot of FC

Already done that. Didn't help either.

Didn't you install app with contacts sync lately?
what about clearing data on contacts and people and then resync to grab them back?
Last thing I remember is that I've installed the new update from Whatsapp and that is when it crashed. I already did uninstall WhatsApp, but still a FC. Already wiped all my data from contacts. Seems like everything I tried, failed.
Also delete all data from Contacts.apk.
Okay finally I found the problem. Google+ and the contacts of the app seems to cause the force colsing. Uninstalled Google+ (since I'm not really using it) and everything works fine!

Uninstall play. Pull older vending.apk from another room. Push it to /system/app. Open it then let it sit for a minute and it will update and won't force close.

I'm running Android Revolution and my Google Play also didn't work, i ended up going into the Apps menu and uninstalling the updates and the normal market worked fine after that. Unfortunately it means i don't have Google Play and i haven't been able to figure out how to attempt a re-install.
i'd had trouble with getting the new market as well. this post is what got the problem solved for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23350875&postcount=2613
basically update Books to Play Books. launch that app, then hit the market icon on the top there with the play icon. this worked for me and i didn't even have the market on my phone at the time haha
Hey, I was running the NOTEorious rom the past few months, no issues using the Watch ESPN app. I just switched over to the Sky Note 8.2 and moved all my apps back on using Titanium Backup and now I get an "Unable to play video" error when trying to click on a game in the Watch ESPN app. I thought maybe it was an issue due to the restore from backup. So I un-installed and re-installed, same issue. The rest of the app works, signing in, viewing different sections of the apps, just can't watch a video. Is there some sort of video codec or app I need on this custom rom to watch these videos? The YouTube app works fine still.
Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!
Editted - Trying to delete this but can't find the option. I figured this out. I restore my NOTEorious rom and the Watch ESPN app had the same error so I thought I would try to log out and log back in from inside the app and that fixed it. After the restore from Titanium it let me go through the app screens like it was logged in, but as soon as you tried to watch a game it didn't think you were logged in. I guess back when I un-installed and re-installed the app from the market it didn't truely un-install because when I re-opened it, it thought I was still logged on too.
Long story short, this is not a problem and a forum mod can delete it. Thanks.
Just curious if anyone has run into this. Recently rooted and removed bloat and switched to android L boot animation, but on restart it keeps telling me gapps have stopped but all gapps still on y phone work perfectly fine.Anyone know what the problem could be?Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
i have the same issue. doesn't seem to mess anything up, but kind of confusing and annoying
Same here. It comes up after every reboot.
Same here. blah.blah.gapps has stopped error when rebooting my stock AT&T G3.
Same here on D855.
I'm rooted via ioroot and removed a bunch of bloatware.
same here and it happened on my G Flex after upgrade to 4.4.2 also. I got it to stop on accident. I don't know "which" did it, but the first pop up of that error I started uninstalling pre-installed (or disabled the system apps). I think it really has something to do with the hangouts update to google play services. It didn't happen at all in the store, it wasn't until I got home and started updating/installing apps. If you have this problem and aren't on sprint we can then narrow it down to the added google services above Gmail, youtube, maps or play store app since I use those everyday and none of the other apps "google" apps.
I also do not think its any of the LG Default software as I installed some of it again (or re-enabled) to check out if I liked it and the error hasn't come back. So if you could please, uninstall/disable hangouts and the google play services update that is required for the 4.4.2 release of it and let me know. I also installed nova launcher but I am almost 100% positive I installed it after I fixed the app stop responding error... sorry I am all over the place, I wasn't really paying attention to it I was just doing what I always do with a new phone. Playing with it.
You said you removed bloat? I had that same issue when I converted play store to a user app via tibu. I think I had also tried to convert play services to a use app. That's what will cause it to crash like that. If you deleted or converted play store this would be the cause of the force close of gapps

Just cleared the google play store services data and the error went away.
My friend with a g2 has been having the same issue lately. I've tried clearing downloads data and cache as well as play store to no avail...its annoying but a small quirk in the long run

I just upgraded to the TMO G3. I started getting this error upon reboots after I installed the Google Keyboard. Possible culprit?

See if he has Google Keyboard installed. If he does, uninstall it then reboot. That should fix it. For some reason, Google Keyboard is causing this popup.
Actually I think it's LG Keyboard. When I froze that app in Titanium Backup and restarted I always get the gapps crashed error. After Defrosting this app, I never get that error. I don't think it has anything to do with the Google Keyboard.
About 3-4 days ago my TW launcher started randomly crashing. I ended up going to the Google Now Launcher which crashes but less than TW. I'm sure there's an app not getting along with it but there is already an ongoing post about this issue.
I have a San Disk 64gb card in and photos are saved to there. Tonight I was getting ready to upload a picture from the gallery and when I opened it there no pictures to select from. I cleared the cache and reset the app, checked the settings to make sure scan device was enabled was checked and it is. I am able to open music and video from sdcard and apps no problem. I downloaded a 3rd party gallery app and it picks the sdcard photos no problem. Something is messed up with the gallery app. It still doesn't recognize pictures.
Anyone have this issue??

Its been going on with several of us. Most likely from the latest update of apps would be my guess. Im not an expert but this is when it began for me, also my wifes Note 4

For me deleting Facebook and restoring it to the original version that came with the phone fixed this issue
Well my gallery issues are fixed and I went back to TW. I cleared several apps. I also went into gadget Disabler and enabled bloatware reset the phone and then went into gadget Disabler again. I got rid of Allshare, Shealth, Chromecast, ATT Bloatware, SGear, and a couple widgets, Music, SMilk, Flipboard viewer. Everything else I left because I think some of the things that were picked messed up my Gallery and right now I have no lag so I'm pretty satisfied for now
