Does anybody know if I can upgrade my HTC Wizard ROM to WM6 using my SD card? My USB port was broken and I am unable to connect USB to ActiveSync. I have seen a thread to do that using XDATools but I could not do it. Would you please help me to do flash my ROM using SD Card? Thanks.
Well its possible to backup the present rom onto a sdcard and in times of need can be re flashed back to the phone again, but to flash altogether a new rom on a sdcard and flash to the phone is not possible.
There's,however, a slight chance,if you can get hold of a phone similar to your with same specifications (make & model) and it has wm6 installed on it,make an sdcard backup of that rom and insert the card in your phone and try to flash,it might work.Just a brainwave
Ok I have made the stupidest and idiotic attempt to upgrade from 4.0.4 to 4.1 jelly bean on GSM Galaxy Nexus.
Basically, my phone was already rooted and unlocked, so I made a nandroid copy and off I went into recovery mode, trying to install the yakju zip file to manually update the firmware.
After I installed it and rebooted, it seems like it wasn't installed on some sort of internal storage that was only 66mb and I have lost my SD card and no user settings can be saved onto it. I realised this because if I went into recovery mode again and reboot normally, I will have to go through the initial setup all over again!!! At this point, if I tried to go back to nandroid copy, I could have done so easily.
BUT I made the mistake of trying to wipe all user data again and now everything on my SD card has been wiped out, including my nandroid copy and the ability to restore my nandroid back up!!! So if i tried to flash clockwork recovery image and restore, there is nothing in there for me to restore.... and I don't have access to the 13gb SD storage from phone or computer!!
Someone please help??!! At least I just want my old ICS system back!

I'm not sure if this will work but it's the first thing I'd try.
You seem to have wiped your internal SD card so I would try to use an undelete tool like "Recuva" from your PC. Reboot the phone and skip any setup options - you want to minimise the writing of anything onto your internal SD card so hopefully the nandroid backup file won't be overwritten.
Plug the phone into your PC and mount the internal SD card as a drive on your PC and then run Recuva on it.
Good luck.

THanks for your reply, but my SD card is completely lost now, So if I tried to take a photo, it won't let me because it says that I don't have an external storage............
Hello,
I've recently picked up my galaxy note II from my carrier. Nothing wrong with it but some software stuff I didn't like. So I decided to put Android Revolution HD on it. I've had this rom for ages on my HTC One X NO problems at all.
First as allways when comming from stock I preformed a backup.
So After downloading all nesasary files I preformed a SuperWipe with the SuperWipe.rar from the official forum, checked MD5 sum etc.
Now, my entire SDCard is gone... Backup files, rar files system files.
All I got in my hands right now is a phone with hardware but no software/systemfiles.
Is there anyone who can help me fix this problem or is my phone a total brick right now?
Why would it be a brick? Go to your recovery and reflash the rom?
Lol not going to pressurize you vuddy but you should have read that thread superwipe on samsung rom erases internal sd...and you have to have the rom on external sd
Now what you should do: take an sd card.
Put it in some conputer which reads the sd card (or a mobile).
Transfer android revolution hd on that sd card.
And then insert that external sd with AR HD in your Note 2?
Start CWM recovery.
Mount external sd and install rom
Youre good to go
Hello guys,
I have a problem, help would be greatly appreciated. Here's what I did and what happened.
I was on JellyKat 6.7 but phone kept reboting so I decided to do dirtyflash of the same ROM. What could go wrong, right, after all - it is a same ROM
After flashing JK and 3 OTAs from TWRP the phone booted fine. But after a while I noticd that I can't write to internal SD card.
After more playing, I noticed that I can write to internal SD from \data\media\... but not from \storage\...
Since nothing worked, I decided (bad choice again) to wipe the internal SD. After all, I have a backup on ExtSD of all important folders.
After formatting IntSD from recovery (and wiping dalvik&cache), I still couldn't see internal SD (from \storage) but I also couldn't see EXTERNAL storage as well!
Putting the SD card in the reader I checked that it is visible on PC. Uhhhh, didn't lose my data!
Now. With problems with both int and ext SD.... what do I do to repair it??? The phone boots OK, but no storage is available
Thanx!
edit:
I formatted extSD card on my pc to FAT32 (was exFAT) so now I can see it from recovery (but still not from the ES explorer when the phone boots).... will try to restore nandroid of 4.3 I have....
edit2:
OK, flashed Philz (since my nandroid backup was done with that), and restoreing... keeping my fingers crossed. If this fails, is it safe to flash STOCK Samsung 4.1.2 ROM from Odin (I'm on MJ5 bootloader so no Knox)?
edit3:
Seems my backup was 4.1.2 But it worked. I see both int and ext cards. Luckily it is rooted. I'll try flashing JellyKat now all over again.... Hmmm, hope I'm still on MJ5? Can nandroid restore bootloader?
edit4:
I'm on MJ5 So hurray to flashing! Actualy, before flashing I have to restore files to SD card which might take a while.... so far on 4.1.2
edit5:
Flashed JellyKat, so far so good
Hello.
I had weird problems with my HTC and decided to restore my backup, but after doing so for some reason I got into bootloop. Then I decided to do advanced wipe and wipe everything but my sd card and then install a fresh GPE ROM from it. Now I can't take photos (It says "insert SD Card before using camera" - I have an sd card) and download any file outside of Google Play Store. When I go into /storage/ I have a sd card folder with all the files and /0/ folder which is supposed to be my internal storage but it's empety. I had this problem before but it was solved by doing advanced wipe instead of factory reset. Now I've done the same but it didn't work.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Managed to solve that by flashing Android Revolution HD ROM and then flashing GPE Rom again. Everything works fine now.
