What's the cheapest place I can get just a Lapdock? The ebay prices are way too high. Frequently, the ebay price is more than what I can walk down and buy it at AT&T.
Best Buy has it on their website for 399. Not sure if they actually have it or not; it looks like it is not available for delivery...
If you have a friend/relative in Canada, get 'em to buy one for you:

In all honesty, I wouldn't get the laptop dock unless it was $200 or less. The fact that it's completely dependent on the phone to work is not something I like. If I were you, I'd just go buy a netbook of a similar price, you'd get a ton more functionality out of it.

+1 they want 400 for a screen, mouse, and keyboard no cpu, ram, or hard drive but you can buy a lower end netbook for 200 or a higher end one for 400 and you'd get wwwwaaaayyyy more for your money.

I got mine for 300$ and i think it was worth it but if i had too do it over again i don't think i would pay 400 or 500 for it.
Thing you have too know about the laptop dock vs a netbook is the laptop dock charges the atrix up sure the netbook will too with the usb charger but the laptop dock charges it pretty fast,
And the battery life on it seems too last forever i could usely go for 2 days with out charging it for what i do on it which is browsing the net with it and watching couple hours of 45min too 1hour shows on it a day at work, And that's even with it charging the atrix.
And its also more portable than a netbook because its really light and also really thin, And the battery life on them is great on some but you will have too turn everything down too power save too get the great hours and have the screen really dim, Which on the dock i keep it on mem too max brightness
And if the atrix ever gets the boot loader unlock so you can load custom roms and kernels the laptop dock going too pay it self off because its going too get faster and more customizable.
I do have 3 netbooks by the way and tons of laptops but the battery life on any of them don't match the laptop dock heck even my new alienware m11x r2 i7 i just got couple days ago the battery life is around 4 too 5hours but that's on fully power save and with the screen on the lowest setting, So i will take that with me when i want too do gaming on the go and if i want too watch videos i will take the laptop dock.
But ya the laptop dock isn't for everyone which i thought it wasn't for me when i first got it, But when i saw how long the battery lasts on the first day i took it too work that really pays for it self right there for me. Oh and the screen is also better than any netbook i seen and it looks better than my m11x its very bright and the colors are just right on they must of put a really high end lcd in it.
I have a $100 off promo on the dock from Amazon if anyone's interested. Brings the price to $329.99. Not sure if I have to buy it or if I can give the code away but it's up for grabs.
Guys, the man asked for the lowest prices on the dock, not on your opinions of it's worth. I'm gonna get one too, so help out or shut up.
You can go too at&t store and ask them is there a way you can buy the dock as a bundle price, Which is 400$ but with a 100$ mail in rebate they told me over the phone i can do that but when i got in the store they said sense i already bought the atrix they couldn't do the rebate but they said they will waive the rebate right there and give me the dock for 300$, But not sure if all at&ts stores are that nice and willing too do that but its worth a shot
Oh and this was like 3days after i bought my atrix.

I picked up a Lapdock y'day and am evaluating it, as I have 15 days to return it. So far, it's great. The only thing that bugs me is that the screen doesn't tilt more than 100-110 degrees: Makes for tough viewing when relaxing in bed
BTW, have you found any additional apps for the Lapdock? Thx.

It's linux (more or less). Anything that can be compiled for armv7 should work fine.

How is it in terms of speed? did you grab yours from FS?
Bell has it for 329.00 canadian.
I was thinking of buying the lapdock in futureshop for 330+tax... but saw the motorola xoom on preorder for 599. Ill save up a bit more and wait for it
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
How do any of your posts even relate to the OP's question?? He asked about where to find the cheapest prices - not comparisons of performance, nothing about the XOOM.... come on ppl - learn to read...
[edit] @ OP - from what i've seen there is no "cheap" place to get a laptop dock... if you want one you will be expected to pay anywhere from $300 - $400 for one. If you want it cheaper, I guess all you can do is wait and see if the price comes down more.
Lol. Didnt my post contain info on where to buy it for 330? I was just saying i was in the same position as him but now have different plans.

Thanks for the tips. I am on the fence at $3xxish. I did some pretty thorough testing at the AT&T store.
My biggest gripes are:
Not full Linux. Dev's have unlocked it but I haven't seen a video of performance and its not stupid simple to do..... yet.
Documents don't load on the webtop, they load on the phone's screen.
Touch pad doesn't have multitouch or scroll.
Curious if I can mount a 64gig FAT32 USB flash drive on the lapdock's port.

Does anyone know where to get the cheapest price in Florida? A friend of mine is buying the Atrix for me in an ATT store but I need to know where he can buy the Lapdock for less than 400 US$.
Help is really appreciated.
amazon is selling it for 399
Any news on a cheap place to buy the lapdock?
I'd really love to buy with under 350.
I have liked this phone for a while and im thinking about buying it , anything i should know about?
Battery life is not good, apart from that it's an amazing phone.
Had mine for a week now, paid £200 and worth every penny. Full price though I would probably get an S3

Its one of the best phone over there at the market , all reviews for all newer phones are still comparing their's screens with HOX's screen
,itr really powerfull , no lag at all at any program , it has a lot of support when it comes to custom ROMs
it's screen will be so clear in direct sun light which at this same condition S3 will fall way behinde
but as it mentioned above it has a poor battery though where ever I go there is a usb charger , car charger, pc charger , other phones charger , as I'm using my brother S3 car kit to charge my phone , so battery inst such a big problem for me , though it can handle to stay all day with nearly 2 hours of screen on , an hour of music , an hour of internet using HSPA and it will still hold around 40-30% when you come back home after work,
and beside all above I think its the best looking phone at the market for now
Has your nexus gone bad? Suffered from a damaged speaker, fried CPU, broken screen or similar? Here's the thread to share your exprerience.
Personally I bought my Nexus, brand new on September/October 2012. Sometime on August 2013 a got caught up in an endless bootloop, even odin or similar tricks couldn't save the day so took it to the repair centre (Smartec Greece) and had it back after 4-5 hours with a new motherboard. Pretty fast- problem solved, didn't have to pay something, even though I never got to know which part actually gone bad.
That's about it. I also have replaced stock battery with a new one as the old one was draining faster than the speed of light, no matter what rom I was on.
So let me hear ya!!!!
The goddamn USB port issue, couldn't charge my phone, until I poked that little bugger in there to rise it up a little, created such a hassle

You were lucky, after a year and a half of use my USB finally took a sh*t completely. Luckily the insurance I use has no deductable so I had to fire up my old Incredible 2 for a few days while I waited for a replacement. I'm so glad we have nandroid. All I had to do is unlock the bootloader on my new device, put TWRP back on and restore my nandroid. No hassle really.
WOW!

The same happened to me but I let the battery drain and then charge it for a bit to eneter recovery mode to restore from a back up. Why didnt you do that? I think your problem wasnt just a bootloop problem.
Powerbutton becoming faulty.
Sometimes worked sometimes didnt
Trashed my charge port one morning getting out of bed with a bad hangover..Forgot my phone was plugged and snapped the port right off :crying: I just bought a new charge port flex from ebay for $10 and replaced it myself in about 20 mins

Last year my Nexus dropped into the sea, but luckily survived
My Nexus's battery was damaged so from phone service I got a new one in 2012.
Then My Galaxy Nexus got a screen burn-in ("ghost image") and in the phone service they changed a screen, but my Nexus got that screen burn-in again..
Everything have worked so fine and I never used any other kernels on my Nexus, than the stock ones by Google and CM's kernel and ofc. my modified CM kernel., I have tried some custom kernels, but I never liked any custom kernel. My Nexus has scratches on its cases but screen has always been clean and good. :3
I'm really happy, that my Nexus looks like a new one, but only that screen burn in is annoying
I am on handset number five; one blown earpiece, two cracked screens and the last one had the interface between the digitizer and the motherboard come loose. I was able to wedge some paper between the battery door and phone body to make it work until the replacement came in. Thankfully I got the phone when beat buy had them for free and ponied up for the service plan.

Have mine for 2 years... only problem is an oled burn where the notification bar clock is... the green and red oleds have less brightens on lower brightenes levels... apart from that everything ok.

I'm past the 1.5 year mark with my gnex and the only issue I have so far happened when it fell from my recliner while connected to the charger. The micro-usb metal piece on the cable got bent from the impact and since then I get a weird buzz/rattle when the phone vibrates. Had to reduce the vibrator strength on fancy kernel to get rid of that specific annoyance.
This has been the case for about 8 months now and the phone is still charging fine. Why I don't know is if this is a symptom that will eventually lead to the dreaded no-charging issue that some have shared here.
Had to change whole charging strip. Gnex was showing frequent charging/discharging and battery would drain within an hour!

1.5 year old phone. Volume-up button doesn't work, and hasn't for some time. To increase volume, I have to press volume down and then move the slider up on-screen. No big deal. Also had the USB port break a couple of months ago and had to get it changed. Otherwise it runs fine. Still on stock 4.2 ROM, I keep the GPS switched off most the time, and also have all the lower-level Google sync stuff disabled (screw Google), and battery typically lasts a day and a half of average usage.
Had the Galaxy Nexus since release day and it served me well. It was fast and I only went through a few. Last October I got my Note 3 so I retired my G'Nex, but now I'm going to be using it as a MP3 Player that I can just leave in my car vs using my Phone all the time. Just looking for a Rom that turns it into the Android version of an IPOD touch.
OK so after one year with my HTC sensation XL ,I decided I want to get upgraded and try something new. My options were galaxy S3,S4 or HTC one and the note ll. From all those I want the note ii. I want some reviews from you guys about the phone. The things that I most care about is how is the battery and is the screen is strong.
Should i get the otter box case with the front glass protector?
Not sure which model you are getting but the n7100 has a slightly better battery performance than the lte version plus more custom roms. I'm running the n7105 (lte version) and can comfortably get 4.30 hours screen time plus last all day on a single charge. I'm just using a gel case with screen protector. I have dropped it several times and no damage so I don't think otterbox is needed unless you are giving it an extremely hard time. From what I've read the n7100 can give you 6 hours screen time btw
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm N7105 user.
I must say that the battery life is much much better than on the N7000, however as it has a large screen it still uses a lot of energy.
So I will compare the battery life (on N7105) to other devices:
-Much better battery life than on the n7000
-Seems close to the S4 Zoom battery life
-Uses much more battery than LG L9 II (D605), as it had a great screen (very bright).
I'm a very advanced user of smartphones, I have a lot of apps installed, however the battery will last untill the evening. It uses like 27% for 2h10min. (browsing internet).
Also please keep in mind I'm using Android 4.1.2, the new 4.3 uses much more energy.
Talking about display, it's good. I don't know if You've already seen it, but the angles and colors are good. However minimal brightness won't be enough for daily use (as it was in LG). Also android 4.3 has some issues with auto brightness, as it gets simply too dark.
And about the protective case. I always use rubber like protectors for the back, and it does a great job. You don't have to worry if the phone hits the ground, it won't have any damage.
And for the screen, I only use a basic screen protector (against scratches).
If You would like to know more just PM or quote this text.
Im about to buy a 2nd hand note ll, I've seen there are many chinese version that are fake. Is there a way to know if it's really Samsung product or so fake **** that isn't real.
one more thing, I know many phones that the battery is getting low even without use and it's beause the 3G is on, does it also with note ll?

I'm not using 3g but wireless and that's true. If You're disconencted from the network battery lasts longer.
About the fake version, it's quite easy to recognize. Just check the spen, no other phone has it, so if spen is there (and has all his functions) then it's an original one.
Please keep in mind that some Note 2 models have problems with random reboots, they suddenly freeze and You can't wake them up, so buy a one that has a warranty.
Those reboots and freeze cannot be solved? with recovery and another roms?

I bought one from zwxj on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. 20 minute install. Very easy. There a a few youtube videos you can search for that show the entire process.
I'm getting about 8 hours or more of screen on time now.

I bought one from new power 99, was getting 10% loss for every hour for the first few months but then it started to go alot faster. They have a 1 year garantee on there batteries so i just wrote them 2 days ago and explained what was happening and they sent me a replacement the day they got my email. It was a little more expensive but definitely worth it. They also told me to just keep the first battery. So i would definitely recommend them . They didn't argue or tell me I'm doing something wrong when I sent the email , they just shipped a new battery out. It comes with all the tools to take tablet apart and was very easy to do.
So my battery is fine except when playing games. It's drops insanely fast. I have a refurbished model and am thinking a new battery should do it. Anyone have that issue and a new battery take care of it?
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
My battery life is getting much worse, and the tablet is now 2 years old. Looks like time for a new battery here too...
Don't know if I need one yet. I know I leave it on the charger quite often and it seems to drain much faster under load than my refurbished nexus 7 2013, but standby time is much, much longer than my nexus 7. Disassembly also seems like a pain. I don't like that you have to pry on the screen

Like the rest of you, I'm experiencing severe, and rapid drain from my battery. I just bought a brand new OEM battery for my tablet. Hasn't come yet, and I will let you know about any difficulties. YouTube videos make it look like a fairly easy job, and it doesn't look like there's much pressure on the screen while you do it. By the way, just for giggles I decided to check how difficult it would be to access the battery. Take it from me-DO NOT TRY TO PRY THE SCREEN LOOSE! You might lose the power and volume switch caps. Only remove the screen if you need to replace it.
Rather, pull the S Pen from it's socket, and gently pry the back cover loose. From there, follow the directions on YouTube carefully. When you are done, gently reseat the rear cover, and make sure that it's properly seated. You'd never believe that piece of chrome coloured plastic was so important. Sheer Genius!
Well, hope that helps.

i got it from zwxj on Amazon. it was cheap. it was actually very easy to install. there was a small issue though. the cord that connects the battery is a little to long. and the plastic piece at the top isnt exactly correct. i was able to get it in though with minimal effort. they battery lasts forever. the only issue i have and it is a pita is it will randomly shut off when playing a game. doesnt happen all the time and there is no rhyme or reason to when it happens. i need to plug it into the wall and then it will restart with the same battery it shut off from. i could read things all day down to zero and it would never happen. wither way for the 15 bucks or so i spent on the battery it makes the tablet usable again and i love it.

I've bought one from AliExpress with the same issue in the little plastic piece on top so I guess it's from the same manufacturer. Mine constantly turns off. Even updating apps. It seems to be an issue with these batteries.
Also, I feel like it doesn't show the correct percentage. Is there something I should do after replacing the battery for it to show the correct percentage?
One last question and this goes to everyone. Using Ampere, could you please check and tell me whats the average drain in mA?
Thanks!
I use Battery Monitor Widget, included in the 3C Android Toolkit, and samplin battery data in sync with Android to save power. So Standby values should be too high to be representative, 0,05 to 0,2A. Idling with screen on, around 0,6A. Max Load should be over 2A or ten watts. These values should be calculated from the battery voltage instead of the Usb voltage. Attached to a power supply, the Note never seems to drain the battery, so there must be a ten watt power limit, it will simply no longer charge under full load.
Using improper plugs doesn't sound like a good idea, the contacts could get so hot, that the plastic of the plug und socket or the back cover could melt and the contacts could de-solder themselves from the main pcb.
Just ordered a OEM Samsung battery today. Will post when I getvand get it installed. Battery is totally flat on my device.

I had the exact same thing happening with mine after replacing the battery. Check your CPU clocking. If you're on a CM ROM it's probably overclocked & set to 1900MHz. If you set the governor to 1300MHz (which is the factory clocking speed, I think) it should quit shutting down like that. That's what I did and I haven't had it happen even once since. I think the CPU is just overclocked a bit much for the aftermarket battery to handle. Your tablet will run a bit cooler this way too.

I just replaced my battery as the tablet had become unusable. I found the same issue. Only happened once, I also found that I could only charge the device while off, I reseated the charging flex which seemed to correct the unable to charge while on. Now that I think about it, I was on a TW 4.4 rom rooted when it happened, I'll report back with findings.
I contacted Samsung support and they referred me to a distributor of official OEM Samsung parts. Ordered a battery last week. Unfortunately, delivery is in the 2 to 3 week timeframe, as it's coming from overseas. I will let you all know how replacement of it goes.

If you want or need directions for replacing the battery, when I did mine about a month ago I posted a step by step guide for what to do along with pictures (just ignore the part about removing the charging port if your only doing the battery).
