Hi, I've been a member here since 2008 and this is the first time I'm actually stuck with a problem.
I got my hands on a friends Note II GT N 7105 ( LTE intl version) and its been flashed 13 times. (He bought it from someone) Had adam kernel and wanam rom and reboots every 3 minutes even on standby. Also the IMEI disappears sometimes and appears on reboot. sim does not work at all. No calls.
I've installed paranoid android and its still reboots and sim doesn't work. There's some solutions to IMEI here on xda but I didn't come across any that had IMEI status as unknown and then to have it available again after a reboot or after i"fix permision". Plus the rebooting doesn't go away by flashing a different ROM. So I suspect something else is causing this problem.
What are my options here? Try going back to a stock ROM to fix this rebooting and hopefully fixes the sim in one go? If there's a chance I'll try that.

well that would be the best choice as of now to go stock and see if the prob persist then definitely it would be a hardware issue just dwonload a firmware from sammobile the n7105 version
or give a try here as u must be having a custom recovery now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228921
Sometimes it's related to the kernel (i had the same issue on an Nexus 4)
Flash a stock rom, and see if the problem persist

Didn't work. Its not rebooting atleast. I read somewhere flashing the ROM specific to the country worked for someone with sim issue.

I got my Defy + from the store Handtec.
When I insert the SIM card, your phone connects to the network, connects to the Internet and then reboots after a few seconds. If data transfer is disabled, then reboot still occurs. No reboot if the phone is in Flight Mode.
I tried different sim cards.
I tried to baseband switcher.
I tried different firmware versions.
I tried to install 3GFix.
I tried everything I could find.
System version 45.0.10.MB526.Retail.en.GB
Baseband version EPU93_U_00_5F.00 (Same with versions 59 and 60 instead of 5F in the title)
Build number 4.5.1-134_DFP-10 (now, in stock i had 4.5.1-134_DFP-82)
I'm frustrated, please help me.

Where i can find 4.5.1-134_DFP-82 fw? I didn't find sbf for this version.
hey so i read that I should backup my imei but instead backed up my rom in cwm recovery then flash galaxy mod. it worked for 10 mins then switched to 3g then stopped getting a signal and check the imei and it said 0 so i restored back to stock and the imei went back to normal..then it just said 0 again after a while so i restored it again and its back up. anyone else have this same problem?

Thanks for that. I keep losing netwrork and switching from airplane mode on and off works for a couple mins then it turns off again and when i restore my backup it works again...had anyone else experienced this? Also does anyone elses batterh take 7 hours to fully charge?

this is a known issue with AT&T. not only the S3 but HTC's One X and several others as well. i would imagine the problem is based on network location. you could try powering down, removing the battery and sim card for a few minutes and then clearing the data and cache in the phone app once its powered back up. otherwise, give a call to customer service. cheers
Ahh right. I forgot my dad had that when he had the s3 and he traded his phone for an iPhone..lol. I panicked and thought it was because I rooted my phone so I flashed stock with Odin. Guess I'll root it back and backup my efs folder this time lol

I recently experienced the the same issue but with a different rom. I did a clean install, everything booted up and seemed to run exceptionally well. After 30 mins or so I lost my data icon and signal bars disappeared all together. My imei showed 0 along with eri version and serial number. I panicked a little bc I was at work without access to my laptop, booted into recovery and restored a BlackJelly cwm backup. Luckily everything was seemingly normal again after that and going forward has been fine. But a couple of months prior I flashed the wrong recovery.img and completely corrupted the efs folder. None of my cwm backups worked at fixing the imei, eri and serial. Thankfully there is an amazing guide in our development forum that addresses exactly how to fix this.

Those darn s3's haha Lol. I don't get why it seems like restoring a nandroid is temporary but going back to stock with Odin erases the problem. I don't even know what I did wrong while flashing. I basically read how to root then started flashing things.

Hi i have a note 2, and what happens now is that the phone wont connect to any mobile network, ive tried heaps of different sims, but then i tried the arizia patch and it deleted the IMEI for me? but when i use odin and flash the stock rom, it comes back, but it still will not connect to the network, i have checked the IMEI and it is not blocked. Any ideas?

No actually, it worked for a little bit, but then it wouldnt send messages, it worked for me for about a second a couple of days ago, i recieved a text and it said i had H+, but then when i tried googling anything, nothing worked, so it was sort of a freak accident because i couldnt send a message back. It has just slowly died. Ive tried cleaning the sim card slot out, but to no avail.

Try searching about sudden death syndrome of note II (SDS) It might be related to your problem :/

But the phone still works completely fine? i thought sudden death was to do with the eMMC?
Seems like ur imei is corrupt..did u flashed any 4.1.1 rom or any older modem other than mf2/me6??
If not then-
Download emmc bug check app from PS
Check whether insane/sane chip
Secondly,What's ur build and rom ver?

I'm sorry, but suggesting it's sds or corrupted imei is just crazy. I'd say the problem lies most likely with your carrier. Have you tried to get support beyond having a new sim?

Yeah i thought it was, I don't think it is the carrier, because i've tried heaps of different sim cards from different carriers and it still doesn't work, i don't know what the problem is

Anyways, I have been having a lot of problems with the latest Cyanogenmod nightlies regarding my Wifi. First off, I noticed it wouldn't auto connect to my home Wifi, as well as the one at my work. I looked deeper and I wasn't even able to remedy it with a simple turn off and turn on of my Wifi, I have to reboot the phone whenever I want to connect to a new network or reconnect if I get out of range. This is very annoying. I tried flashing an updated modem driver for my phone (I'm on bell in Canada, but it's the same as the att version) with no luck. I tried fully wiping my phone and freshly installing the latest nightly, no dice. I was just wondering if you guys could help me out!

I just installed yesterdays' latest nightly of CM 10.2 and am not having that issue. Did you Do a clean install or a dirty one?
I have the same symptoms. If a solution is discovered please let me know. I did a fresh install in an attempt to remedy the issue.

I think this is a bug with Android 4.3 in general. I am having the same problem on ParanoidAndroid RC2 9/22.
I was looking into that, I saw alot Of Galaxy Nexus problems updating to 4.3

i'm having the same wifi issue too, reinstall stock rom and everything work fine,so, this has to be a custom rom issue for sure, ive gone back and forth a few time with the same wifi problem with custom rom only

I believe it's not a custom ROM issue, It's a 4.3 issue, as multiple different ROMs based on 4.3 are having problems, and the Stock is running 4.2.2

My problem is to delete some apks from the system folder with root explorer and it turns out that after you lit the phone and stood frozen, then what I did was flash it to the original stock with odin samsung.
but surprise the other day when I try to make a call came a sign that says not registered on the network and down the notification bar I get emergency calls only. The signal bars go out and have all that when I flashie also never saw what to backup efs folder.
I searched google thousand tutorials to troubleshoot failures, modem and changed everything but I could not fix it remain the same.
Is it only want to be told if you have a solution, if I have to take it to repair or that I can do?

If you have a backup of efs folder you can try to restore it

No, inmediately after flash with odin, the phone didn't work anymore
Check imei with *#06# if it returns your imei then your baseband is corrupt if it returns other number starting with 0049 than your efs is corrupted

have you tried to register again to your network? it happened to me many times before, registering again solves it for me everytime.

Try changing network mode in settings>more networks from Auto mode to gsm only.

Guys I had the same problem (No IMEI) with my friend's S3 Mini. I went to Sam Mobile and downloaded the Asian firmware for S3 Mini and flashed it with ODIN. I got my IMEI back.
Download the stock 4.1 official Firmware or 4.3 Beta firmware and flash it. I hope it works for you guys.

It happened to me when I travelled to another country. I solved it by changing the type to G2/G3 only, removed then replaced the battery & SIM.
