This is the first build, its as stock as it gets. Will be adding custom features in my next builds though.
To install:
1) I suggest a clean wipe coming from any 4.2.x or stock ROM.
2) Flash ROM, Gapps, Root (in this order)
3) When pressing reboot in twrp swipe to restore root (only if you flashed root)
4) Set everything up. (Start up might take awhile so give it time)
5) Enjoy

What are your build times for this? I was halfway through downloding cm10.2 source then decided to scrap it and download only the aosp source to compile it daily. I hope to finish it by tonight, internet at the apartment is super slow today!

Did you try to reboot to recovery through adb?

yea :\ no luck though, the cmd when I ask for list of adb devices returns me with nothing. :\ I installed adb & sdk platform tools and still does this :\
also I don't understand; many adb guides tell me to enable usb debugging " before you can actually use the adb utility with your Android device, you'll need to turn on USB debugging on your Android device" but how can I do that on my device if i can't even get past the google logo? that logic..

You do not have the adb drivers for your phone installed is why adb devices does not return anything. Get the Universal Naked Driver here:

I think that's very basic that they check it .
I'm more curious about other things that are not so obvious while testing:
volume keys while sleeping, battery usage, g-sensor, correct behavior of the audio jack (audio switches to jack instead of speaker), etc...
'gsm long text > 160 chars' issues can't have anything to do with the kernel used as I see it. That's something of the messaging app and / or the radio RIL used.
Hmm, new kernel to play with... might be the push I needed to try building my own android stuff to learn
Am I missing something with regards to the wlan module sources? Didn't see them so far...
Or am I being stupid (highly likely)

Do you have the latest commit? I believe initially there were some missing files. I know when I grabbed the source the first time i had wlan drive compile issues
I applied this to both cronos rom and to superhero rom and both got really sluggish after installing it (I used the boot.img posted among the first posts).
InformationThis kernel is forked from the CyanogenMod Kernel and i have added a few additional changes of my own and more to come. My builds of AOKP and Gummy have this kernel pre-installed with the Kanged Gummy Kernel but when i release 1.0 it will have a few more tweaks so you would need to upgrade.
There will be 4 files you can download. The boot.img and zImage can both be flashed using Heimdall. The Flashable zip and Odin tar.
Bugs
Deep Sleep works but when using LiveOC it does not so i recommend only using this when playing games or maybe make a script to disable this when you device locks in the time being.
Differences
LiveOC
More Frequencies (100MHz, 200MHz, 400MHz, 600MHz, 700MHz, 800MHz, 900MHz, 1000MHz, 1100MHz, 1200MHz, 1300MHz, 1400MHz)
Lulzactive v2 Governor (My preferred choice)
Tiny shmem
Working on more!
Using Features In The KernelLiveOCHere is information on it This is configurable using a tool known as NSTools on the PlayStore. When using this 100% means the bus frequency is at 100% try not to get confused. So 100% of 100MHz would be 100MHz so if you increase it to 120% so it would be 120% of 100MHz would be 120MHz and this value applies to all CPU frequencies, GPU ect.
LulactiveThis is like other governors for the CPU and can be configured using applications like Voltage Control, SetCPU, NSToolsand built-in tools from CM9/10 and AOKP ect.

Special ThanksThe TE4M - Nice work on developing the kernel and getting our device officially supported by CyanogenMod!
Dizgustipated - Nice Guy, Excellent Roms and Kernel!
Technomancer - The Guy who originally ported CM7 to our tab
SourcesMy Github
BuildingYou can build this kernel yourself in two ways
The First MethordIs by adding it into your manifest in your android build environment which supports integrated kernel building like CM9/10 and AOKP.
If you want it in your own Rom then simply just perform the regular build commands
If you just want to build a boot.img then apply the following commands
source build/envsetup.sh
lunch cm_p1-userdebug (change this depending on what device you would like to build)
make out/target/product/p1/boot.img
Click to collapse
The Second MethordBefore the integrated kernel building system you used to build a kernel outside of this in it own separate environment so i have made it possible without have to download the android build environment to build any kernel for this device and you just have to run a build script and tell it what device you want to make.
Firstly you want to use the following commands
mkdir Kernel
cd Kernel
repo init -u https://github.com/henryedwardrose/Kernel_Manifest.git -b master
repo sync
Click to collapse
Ok when synced you will see that there are three directories. Two of which are what you need. The 'Files' directory
is where all of the other files go that are necessary to build the kernel. The build.sh is a nice bash script which
you can open and easily understand what commands are being executed and how the files are being used.
Anyways here's how you build:
Firstly in the terminal go to the Files directory
cd Files
Click to collapse
Now run this following command to extract the ramdisks (you only have to do this when i have uploaded a new ramdisk)
./RUNAFTERSYNC.sh
Click to collapse
Then you want to build the kernel and at the end you will end up with the following flashable files 'zImage,
boot.img, .tar, .zip'
Now you need to initiate the building process
./build.sh
Click to collapse
Now follow the commands on screen and you will end up with the kernel located in the out directory and you can flash
via Heimdall (zImage and Boot.img), Odin (.tar) and CWM (.zip)
Enjoy!
Thanks for you work...
Please build for all model (P1,P1l,P1N, P1C)..

Hi henry.
My tab is p1000 and im on your aokp milestone 6 (not the rebuild 1). I decided to update my kanged gummy kernel to 1.0 as suggested in the op. I tried the zip for p1 using cwm recovery, and my tab was stucked to the samsung logo. Cant go to recovery too. So i decided to use the .tar in odin, and its now perfectly.
Just a heads up that there maybe something wrong with the zip version. But neverrtheless, thanks for this wonderful kernel!
I have a p1 too and i have download cwm file i have instal it with no issue.
Maybe a wrong download ?

with rebuild 1 kernel is the latest kernel or i have to redownload and install ?

Here is my initial attempt to upload a slightly updated version of CM10 for the HTC EVO 4G. This is based on JMZs version and updated to the latest CM10.
CyanogenMod 10 is a free, community built distribution of Android 4.1.2 (Jellybean) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
This is an Unofficial release.
Rom Installation:
1. Download ROM Updated Mar 12, 2013
2. Download Gapps
3. Download A2SD
4. Wipe Data, Cache
5. Flash the ROM
6. Flash GApps
7. Reboot into the system (first boot will take several minutes)
A2SD Installation:
You MUST have an EXT2, EXT3, or EXT4 partition on your sdcard first
1. Flash Rom
2. Flash Gapps
3. Flash Apps2SD
4. Enjoy your new ROM
MazWoz SBC Kernel - If anyone wants SBC
Most things are working but I know the following are broken.
-Video playback may cause a hot reboot
-Camcorder
-4G
-FFC
Additionally, making a phonecall will cause the cpu to max at 614Mhz usually and I recommend going in to performance and bumping it up to 998.
I personally use Boot Manager in the play store to boot to CM7 whenever I need any of these features.

Its pretty stable. Playback is the only thing I get hot reboots on but let me know if you have other problems. It does take it a little while to settle in after booting but that is true for any ROM. I'll post updates as I build them.
Look good man!! Let me know if you need any help and I'll be more the willing dude!!
Oh, rated your thread 5 stars before the trolls start their crap again! :good:
Also if this ROM takes off, it may be in your best interest to find a host site, such as Dev-host or goo.im. dropbox will suspend your account if it gets hammered.

Just noticed a bug with this.
In Ubuntu, the screen doesn't turn off.
If I hit the power button the welcome screen slides in, but nothing else happens.
Not even time out works? Because my screen turns off just fine..?

Just had it on for a couple of minutes, didn't turn off. But it did turn off once after I left it for a minute. Seems odd.

I had no problem either, but since i flashed another android rom, i have the same issue as above.
By the way maybe interresting thing, with an explorer with root privilege on the android part we can access some folders like acct, uid, system, init files and more, is it ok? cause i don't remember having access to the uid folder before....
This is great! Thanks!
I noticed that the " Dualboot ubuntu zip file " contains 4.2.1 files & most probably 4.2.1 kernel . Didn't tried this out yet . but like to clarify from those who have flashed this .
Can we use this with 4.2.2 rom ? or it just reverts the rom back to 4.2.1 .

I'm using it together with PA (20th Feb build, so full 4.4.2) and it works flawlessly (on the android side), but I do miss Trinity Kernel

I was just going to post that
Workshop thread for Google AOSP for Xperia ZL
If you want to have AOSP for Xperia ZL like Xperia Z. Then let's start working
To use any custom software you have to unlock bootloader following sony guide
Thanks to
Sony for providing us the chance to have official AOSP support
All developers that work or worked on android making a dream become reality
FXP - for OP design
jredestig - for all help thru IRC and Google Hangouts
pabx - for GApps on AOSP builds
Let's Start By Setting Up Work Environment - Follow this
Follow all steps till
cd ~/android
Then we will init AOSP repo instead of AOKP
since we want to use AOSP software we will init master branch (default)
repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest
Then let's sync up
repo sync -jthread_number
* Thread number can speedup download if you have an good internet connection
* It can take a while even on a 100mbps connection so Patience is the key
Once you have completely sync'd to the AOSP we need to add device/manufacture specific files to compile for our ZL
Copy the attached file to root of you build directory
Code:
cd .repo && mkdir local_manifests && cd local_manifests && curl https://gist.github.com/Mithun46/6100476/raw/42c2c29a0006eb3eb0b65a53c901ced219e04489/gistfile1.txt >> roomservice.xml && cd ../../
Sync again to get sony repos
Code:
repo sync -jthread_number
Get sony vendor blobs and unpack them in root of your build directory : BLOB_LINK
You should now have directories named vendor/sony/lagan and vendor/sony/c6503 in your tree.
After That, Let's Build
Code:
[B]. build/envsetup.sh[/B]
[B]lunch[/B] <enter> Chose your device number and press enter
[B]make -j<cpu thread number>[/B] Now go out and have some drinks and fun. Build might finish in 5min - 1 day depending on PC
[B]for file in *.img; do echo "$file"; done[/B] Will Show all android images that are compiled
Progress
Won't Build till the vendor blobs are corrected - Errors
Temporary Workarround
Edit the file vendor/sony/c6503/c6503-vendor.mk
And remove the line "$(call inherit-product, vendor/qcom/lagan/lagan-partial.mk)" from it
A build after that can give you fresh working AOSP for Xperia ZL
How to install
Download the respective files from here and extract them, After that do the following
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
NOTE: The system.img does not include Gapps - You can either install them manually or use pabx's handy .tgz file to do it automatically
4.3 Builds: Click Here!
4.2 Builds: Click Here!
To Install GApps
Download the Gapps for your build and execute the below commands
- For 4.3
Code:
adb push gapps.yuga43_shaky.tgz /sdcard/
- For 4.2
Code:
adb push gapps.yuga.tgz /sdcard/
Code:
adb reboot
So what's the status of AOSP for the ZL?

They will be Brocken brother. Its only hours since AOSP source released. I will talk to jredestig
I think a new kernel can help fix this .

Aye just making everyone aware . & yea i concur, in Sony's AOSP announcement regarding 4.3 they mentioned kernel changes. So your probably correct on that.
I tried to build mine but since I such a newbie using Ubuntu I gave up (getting errors, as I don't know where to paste the sonyxperiadev.xml.zip files, it kept getting no such files found), so I gonna watch this thread instead.
