Hi guys,
My warranty has already expired about a week ago, and decided to try something different on my phone.
Im new here so i apologize if i made some mistakes.
How to disable Sense-UI?
Is it posible to set it off without rooting or rooting is necessary?
Steps to root my phone? (I seen some but im in doubt if they still work)

It's worth noting that it is still runnning in the background and chewing up memory. You can install and use and switch between as many launchers as you can install on your phone, but they all have elemets that load at boot and occupy RAM space.
If you want to lose Sense properly, install an AOSP ROM or a De-Sensed ROM, and you can use ROMCleaner to strip Sense from any ROM and use any launcher.

i would say because of battery life, he just should flash a custom sense rom and de-sense it...

Hi guys.
So... Example
If i want to install LeeDroid 2.4 but before so i want to delete all the sense apps and other unwanted apps and install ADW Launcher, would i just put the ADWlauncher.apk file along with others in System\apps? because i have tried and it doesn't work. any idea why?
Correct, you might have deleted some dependencies for other apks during the process though.

Thanks, one other thing if i delete HTC Sense and put ADW in its place should it install and start ok with ADW Launcher?
If you delete the Rosie.apk I don't think you'll be able to use the SenseUI widgets, if you want to remove Sense why don't you just use a stock AOSP ROM?

I was really using LeeDroid as an example, it would probably be iNsertCoin as i want the HD Sense benefits like the test magnifying glass function and the small text, other things that dont come to mind lol. So basically an HD Sense base but with a gingerbread "feel" or theme.
I dont want to RCmix desensinzed because i think its a bit messy
You know LeeDroid 2.4 has a No-Sense patch?

notifications wont work, lockscreen still the same
If you are nervous about rooting (or, in my case, can't because a custom recovery's not out yet for CDMA), and don't mind clogging up your storage with another ~20MB of stuff, you can just download an ICS imitation launcher from the Play store. Looks almost like the real thing.
For examples, search for "ICS launcher". If you want the lockscreen too, "Go Launcher EX"+"Go Locker"+"Go Locker ICS Locker theme"+"Home Manager"(for swapping ICS in place of Go Launcher) will do it, albeit at the cost of even more storage. Above combo runs pretty smooth on my phone, and the ability of the ICS launcher to customize home screen grid size, I must say, is a sweet feature.
Hey, isn't that DeSense utility only for Rezound...?
Will it work on any sense android phone?
Have you tried ICS Vanilla ROM ?

and I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1711816 but settings, and notification bar are still like sense

I tried it, but it can only remove the stock launcher, when i install ics notifications and settings, the notificatiohn bar, is gone, also you can't remove lockscreen, so its just the launcher that you can replace

I have been with iPhone and jailbroken since the beginning, I switched to the Galaxy S3 recently because everyone I know now has it, but I'm feeling regretful now as I cannot even figure out how to install a simple theme ?? My friend rooted my device, but I don't know where to go or what to look for as far as installing a theme ? Everything is just so much more complicating ???

The easiest way to go about theming if you really want to is going to an AOSP rom with theme switcher, like CM10. But if you want to stay on the stock rom, then this thread has all the themes and mods you'll ever need

I see where the themes are located, but how do know which one my rooted device will accept ? Example : should I be looking for NOVA. CM10, etc. or can I just install any theme I see and want ??

Well, since you're on the stock rom, looking for ones that say it's for the stock rom or similar is what you should get. For stock, it's usually a replacement framework file or systemui.apk.

You should read and look for more info first. But in the meantime, you can go to the play store and download a launcher, I recommend nova launcher, that will customize your device and make it look different than the stock mode. Try it

Yes. You simply install the launcher, and, if you want, uninstall the old one.

Hello!
I got a new D855, I flashed lastest PA and stock Google apps, I downloaded few other Google apps ( such as keyboard ) and converted them to system apps.
I tried using the Google keyboard but it always crashes.
The dialer had a problem and got frozen.
I just can't use the phone like that.
Any fix to this problems?

I think you misunderstood me. Uninstall the keyboard and reinstall it. Then DON'T convert it to system app and try. I mean why would you need the keyboard to be a system app?

It works fine when it is user app.
But I like to be close to stock AOSP.
Is it possible ? or should It stays like that.
Btw, I heard something about downgrading the G3 resulotion, is it really possible ?

Well then don't make it a system app. There is, as far as I can tell, no benefits for your camera being a system app.
I think you read about downgrading the resolution on this thread? Imho it makes no sense to do so, cause the screen still has to show all the pixels and the battery you save from the cpu/gpu not processing some of the pixels is minimal. You could try and disable the sharpening software from LG with this flashable script. On my phone the display quality improved significantly!
cheers

One last question (I hope xP), I'm running PA and today I flashed the update, the update brought back the few apps came with the rom that I deleted, Is it any way to avoid that?

You're very welcome You could edit the .zip file and delete the apps manually that you don't want to have. But you would need to do it every time before you flash an update and I think that's definitely not worth the effort
