Window animations - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey I just wanted to know if there's a way to change the Window and system animations on a TW rom. Let's say I wanted to add the animations from illusion to a TW rom. I've searched using keywords but I only find stuff relevant to changing boot animations :-\

The easiest way to change your animations is thru Rom toolbox. It has a theme manger section that allows you choose out if a few different variations... Go to the psyntist.. I personally like the one called chaos revenge. But to each his own. I did notice that a few of the selections gave me issues with certain task ie.. when you type a name into your messages and the window that gives you the list of contacts that it thinks your trying to find. ( idfk what its called. .lol). But when you select the contact. The app will force close. I couldn't figure out why. I even checked all the files it replaces and they are all the same. Just thought id let you know beforehand... try them all out and have fun. Any questions feel free to ask.

There are some good tutorials out there on xda as well, that require modifying of framework-res, if you're felling hacky.

Window animations

Ok. So im trying to switch over the window animations from thenewguy rom to an evo rom. Problem is is that I cannot find the folders with the window animations in them. Or how to find them in the first place. So any knowledge of that stuff is appreciated! Thank you everyone!

There's a mm file for that in skyraider's sense thread in the op.
I made it a while back for someone else asking for it along with some new icon packs for the notify bar. Here is a link to the post.

I also included a way to go back if you get tired of them.
BTW if you want to do it your self or change the ones I did the files are located in system/framework/framework-res.apk. the folder your looking for is the anim folder.
It won't work in metamorph for me its saying its not properly written

[Q] Are there any CM7 custom lockscreens

Simple question is there a custom cm7 lockscreen? I found one for metamorph but I can't seem to get it too work. I have it morphed in but for some reason a no go.
Here is what I tried: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959602&page=85
You have to put the morph you want in the android themes folder open metamorph and hit extract new theme and then apply all sometimes you have to do it twice then reboot

I've never had good luck with metamorph, it seems really buggy to me. I'd like to get some lockscreen customization too, but I just haven't found a very good solution.

May not be what you want to do, but Widget Locker will allow you to do pretty much anything you want to your lockscreen. Using CM 7 you can also go into the settings for Tablets and disable the stock lock screen. It works out pretty well.

ICS lockscreen question

Is it possible to "transplant" an ICS lockscreen (ie from juggernaut 5.0) and install on another ROM?
I'm using MALICE now, with Eugene's new kernel. I'm tech savvy with some things but a noob with this stuff.

Click to collapse
my lockscreen is transparent. I'm not exactly sure what's the process, but I had a picture from my gallery on there, and I flashed another ROM or something along those lines and the screen is transparent, probably because I don't have that picture anymore? not sure? You can try deleting the picture after you set it?
Sorry I don't know the exact way to do it, but it is possible.
What I did was download go launcher
Then I downloaded go locker then found the ics theme lockscreen then I set the default launcher for whichever rom I was running(don't pick go launcher). And boom ics lockscreen on the rom and you don't even have to run go luncher you just have to download it for the locker to work....probably not the way you wanted but that's probably the easiest way...ha

@teo032
I think he meant transplant not transparent. As far as making your lockscreen "transparent" goes, all you need to do is go to cwm and fix permissions, then reboot. It will remove the assigned lockscreen .jpeg file to none.
@evanladoux
Implementing a lockscreen to be built in to a rom is very long process and it requires that you understand programming fairly well.
Yea lockscreens never used to be hard, but in GB witb samsung, its a pain.
M&S
Thank you everybody for your replies.
I was looking to get a built in lockscreen rather than Go Locker, which is what I just went with.
I was hoping it might be as easy as unzipping a ROM, & rename/copy/paste a few files into the DD folders.
Its fine until we have a fully functional TMO ICS. I use Wifi Calling a LOT, so, the current batch of ICS ROMs won't work for me as a DD, though I appreciate all the dev's work to provide (ie M&S .. too many to list)

Is there an unlocked version of touchwiz?

Is there a touchwiz rom that is essentially stock but is unlocked so I can move my app drawer button and the number of rows and columns of icons? These are really the only things I want to change. Thanks in advanced community.
i remember for my gs2 there was a modded tw launcher that u could fully customize, even had themes.vit was called i believe "twiz launcher 4.5" I'm pretty sure it runs on our device. just do a forum search for tw 4.5 or similar to that and ull find it. it was very cool.

Hmm, if you can't find what your looking for, try apex launcher.

Search TweakWiz. Puts the app drawer in the middle and changes the grid layout to utilize more of the screen real estate.
Edit: I was feeling nice, so I searched for you, as I remembered it being linked in the Wicked ROM thread. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30471519
Just a side note about searching, for those who use the app, you can open any thread in the browser using the menu or tapping a post, and the search feature once in the browser view works great. You can search the thread itself, or "breadcrumbs" at the top of the page to go back and search a specific forum(like Q&A, Development etc). I know the app's search feature isn't very good, so just thought I'd share.

Icons on touchwiz

I would like to has anybody found a way to to change or add icon packs while remaining on stock touchwiz launcher now I'm rooted at this time but I would like to keep touchwiz launcher but change how my icons look any help would be helpful

It's very simple actually to change apps and system icons if you are rooted and running custom recovery. That's how all available themes works. Launcher doesn't matter.
Get some theme, take a look at the zip folder/file structure inside and you'll see how easy is to replace any kind of apk resources making your custom icon pack.
Try anycut or bettercut and or desktop visualizer.
