I live in Poland, I would like to buy the New Nexus 7 but the thing is the Google Play is not available in my country.
Is there a possibility of sending someone money, and this one would send me bought earlier Nexus 7 || as a "Present" so it could pass without levy ?
I don't know much about laws regarding to duties but maybe there is someone here that could explain that.
Thank you very much for the information and the time spent.
PS: I don't want to sell this device, I just want to have decent device that I could develop on, beside my Android Phone.

I guess you could use something like a package fowarder (bongous or viaddress for example). There's no real shops that can ship it to you except for B&H (but it cost 400$ with all the brokerage fees, UPS...)
Just to warn you that its illegal to ship anything with a li ion battery internationally via the post office, so it could be intercepted and you would lose it.

Hi all.
I would like to know how to get refund from Windows Phone Marketplace?
I've found some old instructions, but they are not working anymore and I can't find it anywhere on their site.
Please help...
I don't think it's possible. Before buying app, you should saw the warning: something like "That purchase is non-refundable and can not ... blah-blah-blah". By pressing "Buy" button you've agreed with these terms & conditions.

See the Terms of use:
6.9. Refund Policies.
All sales are final and nonrefundable unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular Service offer.
Provided you have extenuating circumstances, a refund is very possible. You'll need to chat with a representative:
https://support.live.com/default.aspx?productkey=oepwp7cf&brand=oepwp7&mkt=en-ww&
For example... I downloaded Bullet Asylum about an hour before it became available in the Marketplace on my phone. I found it on the Marketplace via my web browser and made the purchase, cuz I was so excited to play the game. A week later, I was fiddling around with my phone and looked up BA in the Marketplace. I had the option to buy it, but it wanted to charge my account again. From the game that was already on my phone, it wasn't showing as updatable AND I wasn't able to send a reinstall link from the website. This was forcing me to purchase the game a 2nd time if I wanted to reinstall it... all due to a small glitch.
So, I got on with a rep via chat, explained everything and had the email purchase confirmations to prove it. Rep had to call me to verify my account/identity. Great conversation, understood the problem, and provided a refund.
So... yes... if the circumstances are right, and a refund is warranted, then it can be obtained. Chat support has been very helpful both times I've used them.
Just curious: how much you evaluate your time? Hmm, spending so much time for $0.99 or even $2.99 is too expensive for me, for example

Yes a refund is possible! I was refunded already because I was charged twice by the same app I contacted Zune support and they emailed me in my language Portuguese and saw the problem and refunded me! I was refunded too once because I bought one app and now it's not anymore on marketplace its name is perfectscan i reseted my phone and wanted to install the app and couldn't because the app wasn't available anymore.

So the refunds are only available for errors, not for those who find out that the app doesn't work correctly and just want money back.

Too bad....it doesn't work like that....
They won't refund you for such a reason...
I purchased a game on my phone, got double billed (billed twice for the same game).
I just fired up a "Zune marketplace Chat support session". Explained what happened, refunded immediately!

No unfortunately not. Because, most apps and games come with trial mode. So you could try before you buy. However, for apps that don't offer trials modes, if the reviews and screenshots don't justify value of it, then I don't buy it.

ebay selling the original KF for 99 bucks today. thinking about getting one but want to know if its worth it or should i just spend 200 for the nexus 7? any advice?
Hey buddy,
Ask in the general forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1307, since your question doesn't relate to android development, people here will just tell you to go buy an iPad already.
Hey man,
I think that you should probably just get an ipad.
What can you afford?
If $99 is all you can afford, then go for it, but don't get it just cuz it's cheap, that's not why a person should buy a tablet.
If you can afford it, the Nexus 7 is currently the best android tablet money can buy at the moment, because of support, features, performance, etc.
If you want a really good tablet experience though, the iPad is hard to beat in terms of support, amount of apps, screen quality, performance, battery life etc. etc. Unless you need a particular android feature, and you can afford one, iPad is the way to go.
whoops not sure why i posted this in dev. meant to go in Q&A. thanks for the advice ordered the ipad

I got mine for 79 including shipping on a referbished special. BUT I bought it mainly for reading at night which my older Kindle with 3g is not good at. After rooting and shared launcher I was pleasently surprised that compared with my larger tablet it was easy to grab for quick trips that I might need to do some browsing. Also its easy to watch movies and access prime through tether on my phone. If you want to spend 99 bucks on limited use than go for it.

But isn't it a little bit strange that there are no information about a release ?!
I mean if you are right and it will be released at the end of this month there should be anything official or not ?
They keep it secret because they want to sell some 7a's first I guess. If you ask me I don't even know why they made a Find 7a in the first place.

I think the QHD screen still needs some tuning/calibration work from various rumors I've heard.
The 7 doesn't have enough extra CPU power/battery to drive the extra resolution without performance/battery life compromises anyway, so it's going to be for the "spec epeeners" - the 7a will be a superior day-to-day device.
The 7's screen will require almost 2x the memory bandwidth and GPU power to drive its display compared to the 7a.
@Entropy512 Thanks now I am convinced that I made the right decision to order the 7a and not wait for the 7.

while what you said is true, I'm still having some difficulties accepting that since even the weakest integrated graphics from 2010 desktop PC can manage to handle daily PC operation even with UHD displays, I don't play heavy games on my phone, so is it absolutely true that the 801 will struggle with QHD display even just for average phone usage???
battery life is another matter though, true.
It's twice the pixels but not power since each one uses significantly less. Still it's going to be more, xactly how much more power won't be known into they can be compared. The screen isn't the only thing pulling more power, the extra ram will be a user as well. I would be looking to the a for sure if I was a 3d gamer but I'm not. I'm taking a wait and see approach.
While the extra resolution may be worthless to some it is not useless. It allows you to blow up the screen more. When you whipper snappers get older you will appreciate that more than you do now.
I thought so too. Thats the reason why I have pre-ordered a find 7a today
And like it seems many guys in different popular forum are doing it like this.
I mean the 3gb of RAM would be nice, but like everyone say it is not needed. Also the 32gb internal storage, because you have a sd-slot.
A further thing is that the bigger battery also fits in the 7a (epic)
And if the 7 is published I am going to buy the backside, which hides the battery, because I like the carbon or carbon-style of it
The only thing which is worth to think twice is for me the fact that my HTC One M7 has a PPI of 461 and the 7a has a lower ppi (401) with the same resolution :/
Any opinions/ recommendation ?

Life is always trade-offs. I was used to carry an extra higher capacity battery for the Note 3. On my current HTC One (M8), it is hard to believe how much better it manages battery, even not using the stock power saving settings. (not missing that extra battery when on travel.
As to the shipping date Oppo responded to an email stating that it would likely be at least early June before product shipped. Since the screen supplier just now has started production of the screens we know those are not in hand yet implying April is certainly out. Oppo has their own forum where there is a little more information available than here for the moment, some of you might be interested in taking a gander. http://www.oppoforums.com/forums/find-7-product-discussion.111/

I'm planning on buying this phone via AliExpress (there's no way to get it other than this in my area). I had the "Eternal Team." seller in mind. Can anybody tell me about the things I need to look out for and if it's possible to root the phone and get EU firmware on it? This will be my first android phone so any advice/tutorials are welcome. I also used willmyphonework.net to check if the network works in the Netherlands and everything seems fine
Most Aliexpress sellers will flash the phone prior to shopping with the WW firmware so that you will have Google play installed and read any reviews on the seller you are looking at ordering from, and make sure the order page lists every item on your order otherwise the Ali guarantee is worthless

I'm afraid that will leave me at a price in the 300 euro, I would be better of buying an other device if so. Did you eventually get the device shipped?
Yes I got the device and to be fair it works fine. Just be aware the delays can be considerable and aliexpress support is non existant.
I have since purchased a second device for a friend from Amazon US using a reshipping company which was a much more positive experience.
I'm guessing you want to avoid taxes so Eternal are a good option in that regard as they did allow me to specify a price that they put on the package which went through without issue.

Yes. Ty. I found it on newegg. That's where I'm going.

I suppose that this phone might come from a new batch and it will be good, but will the IMEI checking websites show me if there is an issue?

I like to think my battery battery is safe. I've not run into any problems since August 15th when I received the device. I don't plan on exchanging it either until I see the slightest hiccup if any kind. Goes to show how good the FD version is.
ANY device may have an affected batt, go safe, exchange
I ordered it from a local store and canceled the order because I checked the IMEI before purchase and it was from the affected ones :/

You won't see any "hiccups". Having your Note 7 run hot isn't a sign the battery may be bad, nor is battery drain (Unless it's draining at like 1%/Minute or something).
As soon as the battery develops an internal short through the separator (if that truly is the issue) it'll rapidly heat, develop more shorts and catch fire internally. Despite what I keep reading there's not going to be any signs, the batteries aren't overheating at all, and they can operate normally up to like 50*c or something. They will overheat once they've caught fire though. So suck it up and go and replace it. You cannot know if yours is bad.
