So, this morning at 5am (yes, stupid time to be playing) I flashed a zip. I have stored on my phone zips for both this and my tablet, and guess what genius did? flashed the wrong friggin one! Very surprised it went through without fault, but hey, **** happens.
So, basically what happened, is my phone became a brick. Black screen, could not boot it up, couldn't et to bootloader or download mode or recovery, tried several things like pulling battery for 30 secs then putting back in, plugging into PC without battery and putting battery in, leaving without battery or SIM for 30 minutes and putting back in, NA friggin DA. Still a brick. Not even the vibration when it first kicks in. Nothing
Starting to think time to call tech support, but as I was trying to plug into PC, I noticed something trying to install, then disappearing real fast. That was my first clue. I opened device manager, plugged phone in, and watched what was happening. A device called OMAP4460 was trying to install for half a second before disappearing, failing, but still, it was something. Even though screen was still blank, and not even bootloader would come up, this was happening. So I googled.
I found this site/thread: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f63...-i9100g-via-usb-cable-freeeeeeeeeeee-1465412/. Legija, is a friggin genius Downloaded and unzipped the package, ran the bat, and plugged in the phone. But alas, still no joy
Reread his post - install drivers first...So, putting on my tech hat, how to install drivers if device is not listed, I went into the Actions menu in Task Manager (Win 7), and selected to add legacy hardware. I then chose to install manually, then selected have disk, and browsed to the drivers in the zip package from Legija (all this without device plugged in BTW). I installed the OMAP flash driver successfully, and now showing in task manager with the nice yellow triangle/exclamation mark.
Ran the bat file again, plugged phone in **WITHOUT** battery in phone, and off it went scrolling through it's processes, ninja'n away my f'up. When it completed, put battery back in, held down power, and up she came! Woot! Got back into OS no issues, and I'm one very happy camper.
So I thought i'd share, not thinking anyone else may do the same bloody stupid thing, but maybe a variance, or just have the same symptom (black screen, attempt to install OMAP when plugged into USB), this may just help you! AS for me...deleted all files not for GNEX, i'll continue to stuff around before work, so this is safe
EDIT:
1. Download the zip file from http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f63...-i9100g-via-usb-cable-freeeeeeeeeeee-1465412/, created by Legija
2. Extract zip to whatever location you're comfortable with (I used Android directory)
3. Open up Device Manager (Hold down Windows Key, press R, the type in devmgmt.msc and press OK)
4. Go to actions menu, select Add Legacy Hardware
5. Choose install manually, then have disk. Browse to where you extracted the zip, select the 'inf' file in usb_drv_windows
6. Choose OMAP, you'll get a popup if on Win 7, continue anyway (driver not signed)
7. Once completed with driver, pull battery out of phone, then plug it into USB
8. Double click omap4460_tuna_hs_pro.bat to start the process. Once you see "Press any key to continue..." close the CMD window and proceed to step 9
9. Unplug from USB, put battery back in, and power-up!
10. Extra step - depending on what's been done, it may 'brick' again - suggest to do a restore or a wipe reinstall afterwards to be certain (mine bricked again next reboot)
Thanks for sharing this find, I'm sure others will find this to be useful
No problem, true believer in sharing my stupid mistakes so other may not follow, or if they do, know how to fix
Oh, in my write up - one change now edited - run the bat with the phone connected to USB **WITHOUT** battery in, once it's finished insert and boot up
Next time I'll be more safe while flashing roms to my phone.
Great find.
wow, this is possible? i thought cwm will prevent you from flashing wrong zips and even if not, why would it kill the bootloader? i was under the impression gnex is close to unbrickable but this topic you linked opened a whole can of worms for me, whats with all these hundreds of people who hard(!)bricked their nexus ... did i miss something?
This was a custom zip I had created myself to do some things on my tab, it ran from install script an install.sh that then went and installed a recovery img. Pretty sure i've never seen this before from any install zip, it was the behaviour I put in mine that allowed it to go through, and I hadn't put into the script to stop if not correct device - lesson learned
BUT - that said, you can do things like this to your phone running scripts, very easy to actually if it's running from su... So never run scripts unless you trust he person whose created it (or have written it yourself and certain of it), know it's definitely for your device, and, most importantly - never miss this step - have had 3 cups of coffee first :good:
Nice find OP, but honestly, how people manage to hard brick a Galaxy Nexus is beyond me.
Though, I am glad you learned from this and actually USED Google to search beforehand. ^^

LOL - easy thing to do if you're screwing with stuff before you're awake, especially scripts. Anything running under superuser can do this effectively, especially scripts working in /dev/block/... All it takes is one FAIL and you're bricked - the question then becomes is it permanent or not! And I always google before I ask questions, otherwise i'd lose my right to abuse others who don't!!!

True - but in how many cases would the above be considered a brick?
If I wasn't such a stubborn son of a *****, I would have just called it a brick after the standard revive tricks failed

In step 6 you say choose omap, but which one? omap flash drive? omap p4460? also i cant install any of those it says it is not signed and it wont install, i tried booting in safe mode and no luck, i tried using the 'bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON" , rebooted, no luck either
My galaxy nexus is not exactly bricked but i cant get into bootloader, recovery or fastboot , do you think this method could be useful to me?

Choose the one closest to what displays on the device manager. I started with the OMAP Flash Drive one and it worked for me, but you can always choose the 'update driver' option and install another if required. Turn off User Account Control in Control Panel/Users and make sure you're on an admin account, as it may by default block the ability to install unsigned drivers, to be honest not sure on that one as it's always been first port of call for me on Win 7 (and Vista).
I also found this that might help: http://www.techspot.com/community/t...signed-drivers-in-windows-vista-7-x64.127187/
Wish I would have found this a week ago! The exact same thing happened to me, except I had been running a working JB ROM for a day or so.
Went jogging, was listening to music, came home, music stopped, screen wouldn't turn on with power button or USB cable with a charger or a computer, but there was a notification LED flashing. No amount of pressing and holding the power button would bring it back to life, so I pulled the battery. After that it was in the exact state your GNEX was in. Not even the vibrate when trying to power it up. After a few hours of charging and trying all sorts of things to breathe life into it (including a battery swap) I ended up returning it to the brick and mortar VZW store and they replaced it because I was under 2 weeks with the phone.
Thanks for posting!
I ran the OMAPFLASH_tuna on my GNex and now, I seem to be stuck at "Sending Data"(SEE last line in the image attached)
The values of 131072 has been like that for over 20 minutes and have not changed. What data is it sending and to who or where?
to those who've used this too, What should happen after this?
thanks...

I would be lying if I said I knew exactly what this wonderful tool is doing mate With mine, it ran through in like 30 seconds to completion. I ran it 3 times to be sure! I have 2 suggestions,
1. Sign up to those forums and ask the expert
2. If your device is already 'bricked', it may be worth just disconnecting, closing the CMD window, reconnect and re-run it.
I'm no expert on this application though, I simply found it, it worked for me, so I shared. So option 1 may be your best shot. It's quite likely the bloke who created the tool will be able to let you know the proper path to go down.
EDIT: I am at work atm, so I can't 're-run' it on my device to show you the screen - but I recall it comes up with a 'press any key to continue' prompt after completion (pressing any key just re-runs it).
Funny because another person on GSMHosting is experiencing the same problem and says that his just stops downloading... Just like mines and at the same stop too... hummm...
Hello!
I've been out of the phone game for a while (plan on coming back soon though), but I've been tinkering around with random things.
A few months back I picked up a new car that had a double din alpine head unit, and behind the head unit this PMD - 200 Blackbird 2 was being stowed.
Interested in what it was, I quickly learned it was a Windows CE 4.2 based device that alpine had applied a skin to.
As I started messing with it, I realized that whenever I turned it on, it would just go to a black screen. After looking around online and talking to some Representative at Alpine, there was no longer any support for it and they pretty much told me to go screw myself with my obsolete device.
That's fine, I said...I'll figure out a way to get it working. Obviously the device is home to a Win CE infrastructure and I'd be happy with having that alone...and from there I could do many things.
So I started messing with it. Pushing different button combinations seeing if it would boot into a boot-loader or anything. To my avail, about 15 minutes in I had it booting into Windows CE. I Simply held the reset button and the power button for 15 seconds, let off the rest button, it powered on, started playing with the center button...and poof...Windows CE appeared.
So I start messing around. Checking out the pre-installed data and such. Im about to wife all of Alpine's crappy software and have it boot strictly into windows, and by accident I clicked an icon that booted me back into Alpine's overlay.
No matter! I'll just boot back into windows! So I hold the reset button and turn off the device. Then I go through the process of booting windows again....and nothing...it boots straight into "Map Update Mode". I keep trying the same thing, but the more I try, the more frustrated I get that it won't do what I had it doing before.
That's okay. Map update mode is essentially saying the device is looking for update. Oh..I'll give it an "update" alright I said...But it's plainly recognized as a mass storage device.
MY problem is, this has become about alot more than what Im going to do once I get back into windows. It has been bugging the hell out of me, and I REALLY need to get back in, but Im just running dry. There is absolutely NO information out there about this(well, for the blackbird 2 I should say)
I'll list everything I've found so far, if anyone at all has some words of wisdom, a suggestion, or even knows how to do it...please help me out before my head explodes..

USB Connectivity only appears to be viable when the device is in "Basic Boot". At that point it appears a s a mass storage device.
ANY HELP would be GREATLY appreciated. You can tell how much this is bugging me based on how in-depth I made this thread.
As stated before there is NO information on how to do this, so this is practically a developing thread. ANY comments to further this are appreciated!
Thank you!

i too got to play with windows ce and all the fun apps that alpine stacked on my unit. all of which worked until a faithful reboot and now i can get any screen action unless i use the vol dwn pwr button method. i'm stuck. i use this in my truck quite often (mostly for the mp3 player and bluetooth functions) but i'm pissed i potentially bricked this piece. if only i had made a BACKUP! anyway. let's see if we can crack this case and get on with the fun stuff! (like miopocket 4.0)
edit: also when trying to apply the patch for the pmd b200p (which worked the first time) it now hangs at 26%... no idea...
Nothing like reviving an old thread, right? I just bought one of these on ebay and it's on the way right now. I think I found instructions on another site to get to the Windows CE environment for this device but can't confirm it without the device itself. I have an IVA-W505 and want to either force updated navteq maps to the device or better yet, replace the GPS application entirely. I hear the one alpine puts on there is rather buggy so I've been trying to find alternative options for GPS but want to make sure I can get some up-to-date maps. Also wanted to look into some cool applications and interfaces and see if maybe I can figure out how exactly it starts working when docked inside the alpine head unit. Too much to learn and sadly, not much experience trying to figure out how exactly a device works.
I've been collecting links for reference once I get the device, if anyone wants them let me know and I'll try to find them all and post them. I work from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EDT/GMT -4 so I can probably respond pretty quickly within that time frame but may respond a little slower outside that time frame.
If anyone has any suggestions for things I can do or requests for information I should try to collect please let me know, I am hoping to have the device by the end of next week
---------- Post added at 10:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:51 AM ----------
I found the instructions to access Windows CE (unconfirmed till I get my device to test) and put them below with the link I found them at:
to unlock the PMD-B200P (the "second" version with Alpine's own version of IGO), you need to reset it, hold the up arrow when powering on. then when the update screen appears, reset it again and this time you need to hold the music button when powering up.normaly this works. if it doesn't (sometimes it doesn't, I don't know why), restart the whole procedure).
then you get a screen where you can choose to launch the satnav, WinCE, update, ... at the right bottom, there is a button "enable/disable menu" . if you set it to enable menu, everytime the unit is powered on you will come to this screen.
I am running this unit now with IGO8 and it works great.
- just empty the "flashdrive". if it's not visible, go to "control panel", "storage manager", select "IDE hard disk", on the right panel, select "properties" and then select "mount". and close all windows.
- copy the IGO map to the flashdrive and rename it "Alpine"
- in the Alpine folder, rename the IGO.exe to AlpineNavi.exe and you are ready to go

If someone is able to test this, let me know if it works?
So after many attempts and further research I don't seem to be having much luck with accessing the Windows CE desktop on this device. I'm going to keep trying of course. Any suggestions for getting further toward getting any kind of unlock would be greatly appreciated
i used the update for the uk model to give me a boot option to load to windows ce instead of the nav software. i'm currently running navon (igo 8.3.5) for gps and it's working great! i'm currently trying to get bluetooth to work as it used to. sorry for such a vague post but if any of you are still tinkering with the blackbird please contact me! would love to share notes!
Alpine PMD-200B attached to Alpine IVA-D106R
Hi to the list
Hope posting in the right section.
I ownn an Alpine PMD-B200P iattached to an Alpine IVA-D106R and i would like
to update it either software and maps.
I have tried changing the IGO8o software with an early release but since i use the PMD
without the autoradio source ( as portable ), everything works great but as i attach it
to the source, the Navigator keeps working OK but i get no audio from the car
speakers, not even the Tick on the display.
Anybody can help me to solve the problem or it is possible to unlock it but does
still work also attached to the Autoradio?
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Enzo.

Hello,
i cannot get it go.
What i have done is:
Downloaded from the Alpine site the file called FU_PMD-B200P_20_20091008.zip.
Unzipped it and got a folder called FU_PMD-B200P_20_20091008.
Opened the folder and got 3 folders and 3 files.
Copied them in the root of a 512MB SDCARD.
Inserted the SD CARD in the PMD.
Pressed the Reset Button.
While pressing the Music button ( the one on the right side ) i've pressed the power on button and keeped pressed both.,
but i do not get into the WINCE.
I have noticed that keeping pressed both the buttons, i can see on the display the word
Loading...
and after about 25 seconds i get the Alpine Logo and then the navigation program loading till the end.
Nothing happens.
Please am i missing any step?

Enzo, I have a 1 version of this thing, had it for several years and it still works attached to my radio in the car.
I am also willing to give away the audio for a better navigation, but today is the first time I ever find out anything about this device.
Where did you get Igo8, did you use the procedure described in the first 3d?
I have actually 2 blackbirds 1, 1 works in the car, the other one is stuck on update because I had a cd with no code, and was thinking on cracking the one that is "blocked" and keep 2 units in the car.
This is really interesting!!!

I use the PMD-B200 v.2.0 that i do not know if it is the same as the ones you used.
I got the Igo8 from the web and followed the procedure in the first 3rd.
I repeat whichever Igo8 i put in thePMD it works perfectly but since i attach it to the,
the audio goes off.
Plese can you send me maybe in PM the igo that you use?
Thanks

I didn't do anything to mine, it's a PMD-B100, not even a 200, and as of now is still "stock"
I have to try to play around with the one that is stuck on the update screen and see if I can make anything work on it.

Hi guys!
Just recently I bought the "HDC Galaxy Note 2" off of fastcardtech. I got it a few days ago, am fairly pleased with it except for the slight miscalibrated touch screen. There are some apps on various markets aiming to fix this by re-applying new calibrations. The problem is that you'll have to be rooted in order to run them.
The phone comes with a built-in calibration setting, called "Als_ps calibration", which you can utizile to correct the sensor. Alas, it only corrects the phone's recognition of obstacles placed above it, so that you accidentaly wouldn't press any undesired button during a call.
Phone: http://www.fastcardtech.com/Galaxy-Note-2-Mega
Here's what I've done so far!
Enabled USB-debugging and installed USB-drivers. [MT65xx_USB_Driver.zip]
Tried the bin4ry root method, normal mode. [Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18.zip]
This method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Everything works just fine until the phone reboots. Bin4ry is then unable to mount or copy the last files needed to apply root permission, see attached picture.
I have attached my specs in a screenshot, nevermind the quality, t'was done by another crap-camera! Sorry ;]
Any kind soul who can help me root this thing?
Edit:
Rooting this device has been made possible by GT35pro. See posts below.

I just created the cwm recovery and root. The link is on my blog. The zip file is password protected so be sure to get it from my blog page.

After you have clockwork mod recovery, use it to flash the root access into the phone.
Have fun!

Extra Guide
Follow the link provided by GT35pro in his first post.
To everyone attempting this flash;
!! First of all, copy the Superuser.zip to the root of your internal phone memory or external SD Card.!!
* Use a high-quality mini-USB cable (The one that comes with your phone should work just fine)
* Connect your MEGA to your pc, without the battery inserted.
(This device will connect and disconnect, when it's visible, be sure to grab it and follow the next step)
* Make sure that you have the right drivers for MTK65xx preloader "mtk65xx Vcom driver" and install them through the Device Manager.
* Insert your battery again, with the cable still connected, and install the second MTK65xx preloader.
* Disconnect phone from pc and remove the battery
* Start up Smart flash Tool and select the scatter file included in the package.
* Now, select and tick the checkbox for Recovery only. Smart Flash Tool will complain about the flash, due to it not containing all the appropriate files needed for a "secure boot". Nevermind that pop-up and proceed with downloading.
* Start Download
* Insert the battery and connect your phone to your pc, with that, the flashing should start.
* Boot Phone into recovery mode (pwr button and vol - or vol +) and install superuser from ZIP-file.
* After reboot you should be rooted.

Fun Fact!
I actually managed to install a pre-rooted HDC S7100 rom on my MEGA.
The port isn't 100% accurate
-Invalid IMEI, this was fixed by Talkingmobile's guide; " how to write imei number for MTK 65XX " -Just google it!
-Auto-rotation is unavailable, no fix yet.
-Als_pl calibration is unavailable (resulting in active screen during call)
Besides that, the rom is arguably better than the MEGA's original N7100 rom, in terms of visual presentation.
Smooth transitions, vivid and vibrant colors would be a good example of aspects that would come out as improved over the original rom.
Interested in the S7100 rom? Just PM me and I'll provide the link.
Cheers!
S_ft_need_download_all_fail (4050)
I'm trying for several days, but always get this error in the flash tool: S_FT_NEED_DOWNLOAD_ALL_FAIL (4050)
Tried on Windows 7 x64, Windows 7 x32 and Windows XP SP3 (x32). Only on the Windows XP computer I was able to make a backup with Flash Tool using the Read Back option.
When I try to flash the red bar goes to 100% then the error message shows...
Does anyone get this error aswell, and did someone manage to solve this?
Please help, I'm in desperate need for root because I need touch screen calibration.
Thnx!!
YES! SUCCES!! I managed to root my HDC Mage  Did use another method though, check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490 if you are interested.
Anyway, now back to calibrating the touchscreen. What tools are good do fix touchscreen issues? I already tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934500, but I still am not satisfied.
Thnx :good:

Because I tried to order 5 different phones from China including Fastcardtech; they couldn't ship for some reason; even got an empty box from ZOPO mobile. I ended up buying the BLU here in the US, I'm kind of glad it happened, since now I have an N'vidia Tegra 4 CPU, that runs circles around the dual-core phones.
I did order one more phone on ebay from China, been waiting for 2 weeks now. MAKES ME WONDER IF THEY EVEN ACTUALLY SHIP TO THE US AT ALL?
Thank to Paypal I was able to get refunded everytime.

An 80Xx error does not always mean device not connected. It can also mean there is something not right in the scatterfile (error 8038). You should take a look at the sp flash tool logfiles. You can post them here so I can have a look.

There is something wrong in the layout of the scatterfile. Can you post the logiles of sp flash tool? Just zip them all together.
I have had the exactly the same error with my HDC Mage. I just had to rename a small section of the scatterfile and then it was all good.

According to the European legislation a terminal may be rooted without so we lose the warranty, but instead to use the phone we have to accept LG conditions that say that we can not customize the phone.
As it seems, commented by Spanish users that took your phone Technical Assistance Service (T.A.S.) still this rooted and with installed CWM, T.A.S. spent in warranty, so this method is not necessary, but you never know with whom you can bump sat, so here you have remove the ROOT and leave the phone as something out of factory.

INFORMATION
This method serves to take the phone to the T.A.S., or if you want to leave it clean.
Download a ROM to your terminal, operated and country, use this link LG Phone Firmware G2
It enters to the CWM or TWRP Recovery.
Now get from:
CWM - Wipe Data / Factory Reset
TWRP - Advanced Wipeo, and the beams all but the SD.

one problem with all that - "UNROOTED (White) = The phone was never rooted." should read "UNROOTED (White) = The phone isn't rooted at this time."
my d802 always returns to that state after I unroot and go back to stock I have to do 2 x full factory reset and using the power button down and vol down trick then if you go into download mode it always shows as unrooted in white.

basically I cannot talk for any other model apart from d802 as this is what I have. but basically all you need to do to get it to show unrooted is to download the lg mobile support tool > open it > plug in usb while holding power and vol up with phone OFF to get into download mode > open the LG mobile support tool > go to options (top right) and press upgrade recovery.... the tool will download the original stock firmware onto the pc then install it on the phone. DO NOT unplug it until 100% on the PC. the phone will reboot about 80% on the pc but phone will have reached 100%. next do 2 factory resets using the power button and vol up method and you will find the unrooted status re-appears if you go back into download mode. Its also worth noting that it works best and flawlessly on com port 4 some ppl have experienced issues on other com ports.
obviously I accept no responsibility for you breaking your phone if you try it but I have done this at least 70 x to get out of bad fashes and it works every single one.
takes you about 30 min for the file to download but without that file downloading its probably about 5 minutes user input the longest/hardest bit being getting into the factory reset screen. lol.

ok so if press the start button on windows then type in device manager in the little box at bottom and press enter it will open up.
now put the phone in download mode (be sure to use a rear usb port too, then when the pc recognizes it go to your device manager, it will show Ports (COM & LPT) in the list and when you press the little plus sign to the left of the name you will see the phone and the port number being used. i.e. LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port(COM7).
right click it and press properties > port settings tab > advanced > the COM port number is at the bottom of the box click it and select 4. it will probably tell you something else is using it but that is fine it makes no difference click ok then yes and ok again. Now your phone should show as COM Port 4 in the device manager. now close device manager and carry on using lg support tool.

OK, I have personally tried port 5, and 45 port and not have had problems, since this method which I intend to use the official program, with the difference that we say you must firmware flasher.
Thank you for your information, I used the method proposed for some years with my KM900 and my P990, and I have to say that it works perfectly, and not only that, also the firmware that is installed is suitable to the country, model and telephone operator.
The two methods do the same thing, but his left it because I sometimes giving problems, there were times that said that the firmware that had was the more modern and wouldn't update, I am referring to below the D802 models

Hello! Does your method work with a custom recovery and after the reset will it be gone?
i unrooted my D802 and when it was done my storage reduced from 32gb to 10gb . do you have any idea how to fix it?
What are differences between 10A-10B-20A-20B? I have a 16 GB Italy H3G D802, which rom have I to download?
I've checked a logs and found that com.lge.hiddenmenu.RCT_Check/RootingCheckActivity is running during that flow.
Then, dumped all framework and app files and searched for that activity.
Founded in HiddenMenu.odex file, deodexed ...
Actually they are reading value from that file: /persist/rct.cfg
There is second file that this activity cheks: /persist/rct
There is a logic there if file not exist /persist/rct then show RCT check disabled.
May be that will permanently disable root check?
There could be some other application (service or script) that actually doing root check and write this rct.cfg file.
---------- Post added at 03:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:15 PM ----------
Tried to remove that two files.
But device restoring them after rebooting.
Needs to find a way how to log who is accessing that file.
Excuse me, I cannot understand.
I have to:
1 - Install CWM or TWRP
2 - Make a Full Wipe using CWM or TWRP
3 - Update firmware using normal procedure wich downloads and install the correct firmware on my phone
Is this correct?
I ask because doing only the 3rd point I still have "rooted" in download screen.
Perhaps I am missing the full wipe in TWRP.
Any help appreciated
OK, found description for rctd tool
Some workaround:
1. If you create two folders in target folder with the same names as that rct and rct.cfg names than rctd won't able to overwrite then, and from hidden menu device won't display rooted status;
2. Remove rctd tool and put clean files rct and rct.cfg from the unrooted device. Files could be found there.
But still OTA detect root

Ok, looks like from 4.4.2 rtcd no longer exists but you need the files in /persist folder.
So this should not be a problem.
You root only adb, you take the files and put them in a safe place.
You do whatever you want.
You restore the 2 files (while you're root)
You do a full wipe and a firmware recovery.
Thos should take it to a total unroot phone.
Am I right?

Ok, looks like from 4.4.2 rtcd no longer exists but you need the files in /persist folder.
So this should not be a problem.

BTW to find out if you have root checker do this command in the shell:
Code:
ps | grep rctd
In this guide, I will show how to how to change from LVM to Chinese unification storage method. Windows OS Only.
This guide is specifically for Oppo Find 7(A/S).
The idea of changing to chinese unification storage method is to have access to 8.1 Android operating system and future Android OS builds.
Please follow these following steps in order be able to run 8.1 Android on your OPPO Find 7.
1) Back up only your internal storage because after you flash the following tools, the internal storage will be wiped completely.
2) Download this file (for OPPO Find 7s) and this file (for OPPO Find 7a) then run the following steps:
Extract the files, and locate the QcomMtk_Driver_Setup.exe (*install this driver*) and reboot your computer system.
After rebooting, take off the battery off the Oppo find 7 and press the volume up button and connect to the PC using a micro USB cable. Go to the device manager, open the ports tab and there should be something like qualcomm etc. If there is no warning sign then you are fine and you should proceed along the steps. If there is a warning sign, just right click on the driver and update by letting windows finding the appropriate drivers.

}
Then go back to the folder where you extract the zip file and locate (X9077_Android5.0_32G_20150520.exe) or X9007 respectively and run as administrator. rights only.
Agree with the licence. As shown in the image.
Now, again, make sure your battery is removed, hold volume up button and connect to the pc.
Click the first top left button as indicated in the image below.
Now, the software should do the rest so please be patient and wait until the green line has finished and the timeclock down on the bottom right as come to a halt.
After the green line has finished, please remove your device and plug back your battery. Let the device fully boot up before moving on the following steps.
After you get to the setup screen. Press and hold the power off button and shutdown fully before going back to the fast boot mode by pressing volume up and power button at the same time, the battery needs to be installed this time.
-
Now, flash the twrp modded image using fast boot flash and download the two files fastboot and twrp-modded img :
1) Have your phone in bootloader mode. (Turn off your phone, press volume up button and power button together and connect usb).
2) Navigate to the folder and click on the top left of the folder and copy that. e.g C:\Users\samgi\Desktop\platform-tools
3) Open cmd and type in: cd C:\Users\samgi\Desktop\platform-tools
4) In cmd type in: fastboot flash recovery image-modded.img
4) Remove USB and press power button and volume down button simultaneously.
-After you have flashed the recovery, boot into recovery and store the ROM, GAPPS and cm13 unified patch in the external sd card using your USB.
Download your favourite 9.0 ROM:
crDroid for example: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=262369
Install GAPPS (only pico):
http://opengapps.org/
After you have downloaded all the files rom gapps cm13 patch etc. Make sure to flash each of the zip files one by one:
1) Flash ROM
2)Flash Pico Gapps
3)Flash CM13 Patch here
So basically, just head over to https://download.lineageos.org/find7 and download the latest Lineage OS 16 ROM. Then download the MindTheGapps (since pico OpenGapps can't work) from https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=170282 make sure to get 9.0.0arm.
Reboot to recovery, wipe the dalvik, system and cache. Then proceed with installing the the LOS 16 ROM. After that, you can flash the CM 13 patch and the gapps (MindTheGapps). It's ok to do gapps first before the CM 13 patch. I noticed that it makes no difference. Works the same every time.
Well, that's about it, reboot and enjoy. OTA should work after this. I think.
Good luck.
Then, simply clear cache and boot to your 9.0 OS. P.S don't forget to restore your data that you deleted in step one.
Optional: If you want to go back to Color OS or you have hard-bricked your OPPO Find 7(A/S) this tool will help you get back to stock firmware.
STOCK FIRMWARE (LVM)
Here are the instructions to unbrick your phone:
This is going to be a step by step guide on how to unbrick your OPPO FIND 7 (A/S)
Before attempting this guide, Windows is needed to be in "Test Mode".
To do this:
1) Open CMD with admin rights, and type "bcdedit /set testsigning on" without the colons.
2) Restart your computer.
End result:
This will check if this guide is applicable.
Note: Make sure your device has at least 70% battery. Charge it for an hour or so if you are not sure about the amount of battery left.
Note 2: I'll assume you are an admin of the computer you are using.
1) Disconnect your device from your charger/computer, etc.
2) Take out the battery and wait for 5 seconds.
3) Put the battery back in, hold the Power+Volume Up buttons and plug it into the computer.
4) Release your hands, and go to Device Manager. (How to go to device manager below)
1. Click the start menu
2. Right click Computer (Right hand side)
3. Click Properties
4. On the left hand side, click on Device Manager
5) Under Ports, you'll see either QHSUSB_BULK or Qualcomm *blah blah blah* 9006/9008
If you don't see any of the three, you're doing it wrong (Probably).
If you're not seeing it, try connecting your device without the battery.
Next, we uninstall the drivers. Simple enough.
WARNING: This part is only for people seeing Qualcomm 9006/9008 in Device Manager.
1) Uninstall the driver. (Right click your device, then click Uninstall. If prompted, delete driver software too)
2) Unplug your device.
3) Take out the battery and wait for 5 seconds.
4) Put the battery back in, hold the Power+Volume Up buttons and plug it into the computer.
5) Release your hands, and go to Device Manager.
You should see QHSUSB_BULK, if not, you might be doing it wrong.
Now we install the proper drivers.
NOTE: You should be seeing QHSUSB_BULK in your Device Manager, if not you're doing it wrong.
1) Download the Find 5 Drivers and unzip the file anywhere.
2) Right click on your device showing QHSUSB_BULK and click on Update Driver Software.
3) Click on "Browse my computer for driver software", and select the folder in which you extracted the drivers to.
4) It will install automagically. If prompted, click on Install the driver anyway.
After installing, your device should say Qualcomm *blah blah blah* 9006/9008.
The moment all of you have been waiting for. Unbrick!
NOTE: Your device should be connected at all times.
1) Download the tool that will save you below.
2) Extract the contents from the zip file.
3) Open the .exe file with admin rights.
4) There should be a line that is visibly different from others.
5) If there is, click start and wait till that line turns green. (It takes a few minutes. Generally nothing should go wrong at this stage.) If there isn't, you're doing it wrong.
6) After the line turns green, unplug your device and hold the power button until you see the Oppo logo.
7) If all goes well, you should be booted to ColourOS v1.2.5i.
If everything went through smoothly, you should be unbricked and ready to brick your device again.

Sorry for the late reply,
Don't worry, I will upload the tool also that I managed to download when oppo forums was running and luckily saved that on my hard drive :') so if you do brick your phone, the software will put you back to default X9076 color OS software mode so you're safe.
1. This guide is for Oppo Find 7s. The 8.1 android OS does not recognise X9076 (LVM) and shows "encryption unsuccessful" whenever you boot into the OS. However, when your phone shows X9077 (Chinese unified method) the 8.1 recognises and lets you boot successfully. I'm not quite sure why OPPO had to make this sooooo confusing. Lol.
2. I am running the latest Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
3. I'm not sure what you're asking ? It does not matter 32-bit or 64 bit
4. I'm literally running CrDroid and its amazing, the latest update just got out online check it out.
Let me know if you need further help.

What's the problem? I think they had a 7.1 forum but I'm not sure if it's closed
If 7.1 i think no connection on this 8.1 version, right? But if u dont mind i wanna ask if u have this issues.
My problem is weird ....
1. Press long at recent button will appear some apps that we have opened.. at the top have lock button, right? I already press that button become lock. But that make it permanent... in no time will be unlock.
2. Last night when i sleep i leave my phone idle with battery 100%, at morning i woke up and see my phone low batt with 13%. Weird draining battery so fast. Nothing running only some email and chat that i haven' t read. Maybe the notification light?

The first problem I'm not sure lol ?
The second problem is maybe most likely of background apps turn off any background apps that might be running i.e apps that run constantly Facebook Instagram others. One recommendation to turn off Wifi and mobile data so there is no data incoming/outgoing when you go bed.

Maybe my english bad hehehehhe
I already attach the pic for first problem....
I cant make it stick locked ... in some how it will unlock itself... weird...
Also i cant play Mobile Legends anymore always force-close lol

That,s weird battery usage. When I leave a 100% battery at night, next morning ( about 8 hours) I have about 90+% left, and I leave WiFi and mobile data on all night. Though I use Servicely and Project Skynet Raising.

Best advice would be to reflash the ROM with pico gapps or at last change to another 8.1 ROM i.e lineage rom or omni 8.0
