Does it replace the stock camera app? Or it functions as a separate app?
Got taken down again, can anyone upload it here on xda?
Beamed from my Maguro.

It functions as a separate app.
There are a few issues(even if in beta), but I like the overall concept.
Panoramic mode crashes
No sphere mode
Not as many photo options, eg. timer, resolution, exposure.
Records video in 720p
No other video options
Minor for me:
Swiping near edge brings up pie for me.
This is cool ... Couldn't get the wrist twist to open camera app function to work, and not sure what the slo camera setting does (unable to activate) but I do find it pretty quick to use. It's missing a few of the basic aosp settings, most importantly exposure comp. Autofocus algorithm seems to be much faster than cyanogenmod camera. Def prefer slide to zoom. If the camera on the gnex wasn't so crappy and I didn't need to exposure compensate as often as I do, I'd probably use this. Really looking forward to the new cm camera though, hopefully they can glean some design ideas from this.
Thanks for posting!

This is being done to help people who cannot download from box.com - all credit goes from Maclaw and the ICS team (https://github.com/GalaxyICS)
He is the patch
load onto SD card -
boot using Clockwork Mod
install from Zip from SD
reboot - there is your Camera (if you get an error just re-open the camera app) - though you wont have a preview, but the picture quality is Amazing
apologies no mirrors allowed - all i can do is link to the original post http://maclaw.pl/?p=51
I believe that maclaw said no mirrors allowed
unfortunately the download link does not work anymore
Can anyone send me the file if no mirrors are allowed?
I would much appreciate if anyone send it to [email protected]
Thanks!
A mirror is when you reuploud to a other site, but this is sharing Maclaw's link....so not a mirror

For the longest time most Android camera apps are incapable of auto adjusting exposure to suit the touch-focus area, a feature that's found in HTC Sense camera and iOS camera. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I just realized that this feature has finally been added to Jelly Beam on GNexus!! For this feature alone I'll stick with Jelly Bean instead of AOKP ICS.
Just wanted to share this as I thought some might find it useful.
Cheers.

Edit: I'm really surprised by how many people have absolutely no idea what touch-exposure is. The keywords are highlighted in red above. If you still have no idea what it does, borrow an iPhone from your friend, try touch-focus a few different areas with different brightness levels within the same view, you'll know what I'm talking about. Sadly most people don't even know what they are missing out....
This is awesome if true!
You do aokp will start working on jb as soon as the source comes out....

Of course, but until then, this makes it easy for me to choose between AOKP ICS & JB.
another feature I miss in camera is the pause button while recording video, unfortunately this as not been added

I think it's automatic... uh "touch-auto-exposure" is in the name. Wherever you touch on the screen automatically applies the correct exposure.
You can also take pictures while recording video, just tap on screen.

I'm always baffled why Google didn't implement this earlier. iOS and HTC Sense have had it for a while.
And guess what, even Galaxy S3 still does NOT have this feature..
better known as touch to focus :silly:
I'm confused. What exactly are we talking about? Does touch-to-focus do something it didn't do before? And autofocus doesn't do it?
I think Touch to Focus was absent in AOSP until JB. I used it today without realizing it is a new feature, works exactly as it should.
Where camera app for the Galaxy S3 produces the highest image quality? I'm going to use the stock camera app as the baseline.

Camera Zoom FX works well for me with the exception of a couple things.
1) Loads slower than stock camera.
2) No video capability.
I really like that I can click anywhere on the screen to take the pic. I don't have to click a particular button.
yup.
ProCapture is nice.

Have anyone done a comparison between Vignette and ProCapture? What makes you think ProCapture is better? My search suggest that Vignette's 3.1MP Superfine option produces better quality than the stock app. I don't know what kind of options that ProCapture have that pushes it above the competition.
I prefer using the Stock cam overall, but I do like to use Aviary and Pixlr-o-matic every now and again. FxCamera looks cool, but the lack of live filters is a big usability issue for me.
Pro capture is a good one for power use. Pudding Camera looks good also, but I didn't really like the lack of options in it. Also pictures didn't seem as sharp as with the Stock cam. I can't say much about Vignette based on the free demo, which isn't good enough to make me want to buy it. However, it does seem to have some nice features for taking shots and editing them.
Hey, installed 4.2 on the GN and love it so far. I also love the new camera interface, but hate, hate how I can't preview the pictures immediately after I take them any more?
Is that normal? Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks dude. Another question, I recently copied all my photos from my other phone into the DCIM>Camera folder, but when I view them all in the gallery, they are not sorted by date like they were in my old phone?
I'm assuming it goes by file name or something, but is there a way to change that?
