I-Blason mini review - One (M7) Accessories

Ok I went back and forth with what charger case I was going too go with. The to two was this one and the mophie. I went with this one due to the price and they both had the same battery size. Every other mophie I had has went bad in a short time except the very first one I had for my iPhone 3 , that thing lasted for ever.
Ok what I like about this is the feel of it, it has like a soft velvet feel too it. What I don't like is the slow charge warning that comes up when I turn it on. Can some one tell me if the mophie does the same thing, I am on the fence on sending it back and staying with my battery bank that chargers at 2a all day long and charges it fast. The fit and finish I would give a 7.75. Where the two pieces meet there is a very small gap and the mini usb don't line up perfect when you slide the case in. I will test it from completely dead and give every one an update. It will bee soon. If it dose not give me the %80 they say then I will send it back and try another one, or just go with my battery bank. BTW I have the spigen gtr glass one my one and it fits fine.

I have the blason and it works fine. I have dropped the phone onto a tile floor twice and not a scratch so it protects the phone as well.

Dose is gone you the slow charge message

I get that message when I'm using GPS or watching a movie.

I dont know about one with a speaker but I picked up one from Amazon about 6 moths ago or so that has 2 slots. In the front your EVO sits on USB and is a charge/mass storage slot. In the back is a slot for a second battery that has its own dedicated USB port to charge it. It was somewhere between $10-$25 I think. Maybe I can find it in my order history and link it for you if you like.
Found it and Amazon still sells it for $19. I like it. It does NOT fit with an extended battery out of the box, but I modified mine to work with it. I use it almost every day. I keep it next to my PC on my desk. Very handy.

Just received my silver Mophie Juice Pack

So I just received my silver Mophie Juice Pack Case for my HTC One and thought I would share some of my insights on it.
First off, it adds a substantial amount of size and weight to the HTC One. This isn't entirely bad though, as I think it makes the phone feel better in the hand with the extra thickness gained by adding this battery case, and while the weight is definitely noticeable it's really not that bad.
One issue I found right away though was that the phone with the case on it will no longer fit in the phone holder on my Moga Pro gamepad. While this is a bit annoying, it isn't a total deal breaker because the case is fairly easy to remove from the phone when I want to play games using the gamepad.
I haven't yet had a chance to test just how much extra run time I get with this battery case before having to plug into a charger, but seeing as how I just did a run time test a few days ago without the case and managed to get 33 hours off the charger with 4 hours and 19 minutes of screen on time, I imagine I'll be able to almost double that, or more, with this battery case since it has a 2500mah battery and the phone itself only has a 2300mah battery!
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, I'll do my best to answer them.
Can you post some pics please? Is it very heavy with the case or just a bit?
Thnx

The case actually doubles the weight of the phone (phone without case weight 5.04oz and the case by itself weights 5.05oz) but it really doesn't feel that bad. It is noticeably heavier, but after a few minutes you get use to it and I don't imagine it would hurt your arm or anything during a long call or browsing session.
I'll see what I can do for pictures, but you can search google and find a bunch, and even some videos on youtube.
One more thing I just noticed... When holding the phone in landscape move to type something, my hand kept hitting the larger power button on the Mophie case (which is larger then the phones power button)... Not a total deal breaker either, but it will take some getting use to when typing in landscape mode.
So I got a black one today and the issue your describing with the, charge button seems very odd. There is no possible way for me to hit it when in landscape mode, but I have large hands.
I love mine so far no complaints. I have a Zero Lemon battery in my note 2 and even with the mophie on the HTC one it still feels tiny. Also since I do not wear skinny jeans pocketing is not an issue at all.

No not the charge button, I'm talking about the button on the Mophie case that covers the phones power button, its larger than the normal HTC One power button and is semi-transparent to allow the IR remote to still function... THAT power button is the one I keep bumping with the palm of my left hand when holding it in landscape mode and when I bump it, it turns the screen off. But like I said its not a deal breaker. I love mine so far too, I'm a heavy user so having the extra power in tap is what I really wanted, without having to lug around a separate battery block to charge up my phone on the go.
Ohhhh my mistake... I can see that happening. How easy / hard is your power button to be pressed? Mine is right in the middle and has almost no travel when pressed.

I would say my power button is more on the easy side, and also has almost no travel. I've also notice the Volume UP button takes slightly more pressure to "click" than the Volume DOWN button, same for you? Its not drastically harder, but it is slightly noticeable.
Yep exactly the same. I like it better than using the actual phone buttons but it's now a different kind of 'hard'

Oh I totally agree. All of these "issues" if you will, are just minor imperfections in my mind. None of which would cause me to give up this battery case for a normal protective case, or going caseless! I'm more than happy with this Mophie case and the quality of it.

Hey one more question... Is it just me, or does your phone seem to charge quicker using the Mophie then using the normal USB ac adapter?? Maybe its just the USB cable I'm using with my AC to USB wall adapter, i'm not using the ones that came with the HTC One because I already had chargers from my old HTC Thunderbolt, but my Mophie case definitely seems to be charging my phones battery faster than using my AC adapter!
OK, I'm starting to think I have a defective Mophie case.... Yesterday when I had the case on my phone, I had my phone hooked up to my PC with the USB cable to transfer a file, and the phone connected for a little while and then just lost connection and would not reconnect to my PC. It was like the USB Passthrough on the Mophie stopped working. After a little playing around with it, it started working again and I didn't think much of it.
Now, I had my Mophie case charged up to 100%, and when my phone got down to 37% battery left I turned on the Mophie to charge the phone. It charged from 37% to 79% and then the Mohpie case stopped charging and lost all functionality. I can't even push the little button on the back to check how much charge is left in the Mophie. Just about 5 minutes before the Mophie stopped working I pushed that button to check the charge and it still had 3 solid led lights on so I know the Mophie isn't drained! Again, after playing around with it for a little while I finally got it working again by pluging my AC charger into the Mophie case with the phone still in the Mophie case, and it started to charge my phone. I immediate unplugged the AC charger and then check the Mophie charge with the button on the back and the LED lit up again so I flipped the charge switch on the Mophie and it started working again... Weird!
If I keep having problems I'll report back here after I contact Mophie!
EDIT: Ok it looks like the battery really is drained in the Mophie already, because when once I got it going again like I stated above, it quit working again shortly after that... I'm hoping its just because this is the first Charge/Discharge of the Mophie so the battery isn't conditioned yet!

I'd make sure it's a legit Mophie case when you get it! I've read all kinds of reviews on Amazon for the iPhone Mophie cases (not I don't own an iSuck I was just looking for reviews of Mophie in general lol) and a bunch of people bought what was advertised as a Mophie Case and it turned out to be a knock off made by some company in china to look just like the Mophie and was very cheaply made.

I haven't yet heard of any fake HTC One Mophie cases, but that doesn't mean they're not out there... Here is a site that explains how to spot a fake iPhone Mophie case, maybe some of this information would also apply to a fake HTC One Mophie cas eif they are out there...?

OK, one more little issue I just had with my Mophie case.... I thought my phone was stuck on a boot loop because I had just flash the new radio mentioned in the ARHD 10.0 thread just a few minutes before my phone started doing a boot loop! Turns out my phone was fine, and somehow when I put my phone in my pocket and then took it out (which is when I noticed it was boot looping) a bit of sand or dirt or something had gotten in between the phone power button and the power button on the Mophie case and it was holding the power button down which was causing the boot loop! I noticed something wasn't right when I went to push the power button and it didn't click, so I took the top of the Mophie case off and the phone stopped boot looping and continued to boot right up. I didn't see anything between the buttons when I removed the top of the case but doing so stopped the boot loop so that has to be what it was...
EDIT: Ok so after some inspecting, it was not dirt under the button! For some reason, the phone can shift around inside the Mophie case JUST a tiny bit, not even enough to notice by looking at it, and when it does it puts pressure on the power button and holds it down! I can replica it every time but holding the phone (with the Mophie case on it) upside down and giving it a shake which cases the phone to slide ever so slightly down (because I'm holding it upside down so the phone is really sliding up inside t he case) which puts pressure on the power button, and the only way to stop it from holding t he button down after that is either to remove the top of the Mophie or holding it right side up and shaking it again so the phone slides back down in the case... I was able to eliminate this issue by putting a piece of paper folded over under the top cap of the Mophie case, literally just two sheets of paper thick. I'm gonna have to contact Mophie on this one because I shouldn't have to do that as a fix!

Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner, I wanted to run the phone and charger through a few more tests first. Here is what I have noticed:
Charge Speed - The phone charges very fast from the Mophie (faster than my 3 Amp wall charger even)
Charge Amt - I ran two tests based on what Mophie states (20% turn on) and with my phone off I was able to achieve a full charge both times with a little bit more left over in the battery. With the phone on and being used, while the Mophie was charging, I got up to 93% before the Mophie ran out of juice.
So I guess to answer your question I am seeing what you are but it all depends on how you are using your phone when its charging. Oh I also am running the Snapdragon Battery Guru which has helped quite a bit in saving wasted juice.
Still loving the case and I go back and forth between it and my otterbox commuter.

Defective Mophies...Anyone else?

What's up folks...I've got an issue with three different Mophie's and wanted some opinions.
Upon getting the cases, all works well. Lights are working/displaying, power button is active, switch works great, etc.
On all 3 cases (2 black cases from Best Buy and 1 silver from mophie directly) they randomly become unresponsive and dead to world at random times.
The only way I have found to "revive" them is to plug them in and the lights will show fully charged and ready to roll...only to do the exact same thing less than a minute later.
I've reached out to Mophie, and they had no idea what I was talking about...and I've returned the 2 black cases to Best Buy. I'm due to send the silver one back tomorrow, but was really hoping to avoid doing this, as it's the only case I've come across that I actually like...aside from this lovely little issue, that is.
So yeah...any best practices or anything would be ultra helpful.
Only thing I can really think of at this point would be either my phone or there is just something wrong in general with the packs...but I just find that so hard to believe, as there are countless out there that aren't having these issues. And if they are, I haven't been able to fid anything on line just yet.
Thanks again for any help, I really appreciate it.
I actually had the exact same issue on my first Mophie for the One. I had to kind of "jump start" it even though it was charged. Wouldn't light up or charge. Then I exchanged it after a couple days, and the micro-usb port on the replacement was bent (badly enough that the case wouldn't seal.) The third unit I got works perfectly, I love it. Thankfully I work at Best Buy and exchanging it only took a couple minutes.
I would recommend you swap it out until you get a good one.
Right on. That's kind of what I was afraid of. Good to know it's nothing on my end, just sucks that it might be one of those revolving door issues until I get lucky enough to find one that jives.
Thanks.

I don't know about dead in minutes, but I've definitely felt the batteries are draining out much, much faster than they should. I'm considering doing a return or exchange to Best Buy (across the street from work, great stuff) soon. At least they price-matched against Amazon post purchase.
Mine does it on occasion, I just deal with it. Over all the case is a lifesaver.
Yeah, I've loved them in the past. But sadly a case that gives me 5% and then is useless until I can give it a jump start from a wall charger for another 5%.
I mean, if I was around a wall charger all the time, I wouldn't need the case.
Really a bummer.

I had a definite scare where mine wouldn't do jack for the first few days, but now things have evened out, and some error messages on my work computer yesterday tipped me off that the USB port I'd been using to charge was just flat out faulty. I think I'll run caseless for now (or buy a slimmer case), but definitely going to hold onto this for a trip.
Mine is doing the same thing. I bought it and the phone last Friday and used it Saturday but it did not seem to work. This is my fist Mophie and I could not remember what exactly to expect from reading the instructions. I took it home and charged it and all was good, or so I thought. I tried using it Monday and it showed to start charging my phone only for me to start hearing the phone warning of low battery every few seconds. I messed with it and it started working but only charged the phone for an hour than was dead. had to plug in to get a responce from it. I will take it back to BB and try another,.
I've got a replacement phone coming in tomorrow for other reasons...so I'm curious to see if anything changes. I REALLY want to keep this silver mophie, but it isn't looking likely.
Really hope someone from Mophie can voice on the matter, as I'm curious to see how widespread these issues are

Stay away from the Mophie Juice Pack for the HTC One

The first one I had started glitching after the first day of using it. It wouldn't turn on and the battery check button stopped working. I sent it to Mophie and they replaced it and even swapped for the color I wanted which was silver. The silver one worked a little bit longer but after a couple of days, same thing. Also the silver one started turning yellow and getting dingey really fast. I sent that one back as well and had them again swap the color back to black. I cannot complain about their support department at all. Very fast and friendly. Well, I'm on my third one and it STILL has the same problem. It wont work until you plug it in for minute and it will randomly stop working again. When it did work, it was great. It would charge from 1% to 100% EASILY. I just wish they'd get this product in line.
I agree with this post. My HTC One mophie has same problem. Seems a waste of time sending in. Replacements have same problem. Great concept, poor implementation.

I can totally relate to you. Everything has also happened to me as well. What a waste of money this was. I felt like breaking them but i can't sense i spent so much on them lol.
2 months for me as well...anyone know of a reputable alternative?
My Morphie is very strange. As best as I can tell, it only charges both the internal phone and case battery when the phone is turned off. I get some luck when I run down the internal phone battery to near depletion (with little switch pushed outward and showing red) and then switching until the green shows on the switch. This starts to recharge the phone battery. I get about 18-20 hours overall use excluding when the phone is turned off and charging. Far less than ideal.
Anyone tried the I-blason variety? It's about $60 on Amazon and seems like a nice alternative. I tried a cheap (Power Bank) alternative on ebay.. Terrible idea. It's on its way back now.

Battery Backup Case (Incipio OffGrid)

Although my Fire Phone gets GREAT battery life, I do find situations that I wish I had a little bit more juice. For instance, if you are out camping for the weekend, or arriving at the airport for an early flight and will be working from your phone most of the day, a little extra battery will keep you from being tethered to a wall.
The Incipio OffGrid Case did the job for me! It adds an extra full day of use to the device. Here is a video review. Let me know if you have any questions!
[advertisement] ... [/advertisement]
Just fyi that incipio case is trash. I bought one off Amazon even after reading the horrid reviews. The case would charge the phone for 4 seconds then the case would shut off. You had to charge the case for a second just to get life to come back to the case. Tried again same problem. Called incipio support and they sent me out a new one. Same problem. They seem to have a major flaw in the case. Maybe some kind of short. I returned the one I got from Amazon and reordered. This was my third case and surprise same problem. 3 cases with the same problem means faulty cases. One did last a couple days before the problem occurred but end results all 3 cases had the exact same problem. You have been warned.

JDubbed, sorry you had an issue. I am still using mine every day. When my phone gets down to about 30% I turn it on and get a full charge back out of it. Maybe I got lucky and snagged a good one, but it works like a charm. Have it on my phone right now.
