Galaxy W GT-I8150T - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Sir arco,
I have galaxy W GT-I8150T.
All the roms are for i8150 without "T".
I tried flash and it didn't work. It won't flash because of model.
Can you make cm9 rom EOL for the T model, please?
Thanks a lot,
Slimann

First of all, you should have posted it as a message in any of his thread. Creating a thread for those kind of questions in dev section is a rude mistake.
And to be honest, man.... don't even waste your time waiting.
Arco is busy with his brand new S4 mini.

Exactly.
You can´t really expect Arco to spends months to make the ROM work with the "T" now right after he said himself he is quiting the SGW section and moving on to develop for the S4 mini. Your request is a bit to late if you ask me.

Then, no hope?
It's my friend's phone not mine. I have SGW.
Thanks.

Isn´t this already obvious? Ok let me reply to this by asking you something.
If you were Arco who got his shiny new S4 mini and already said months ago he will stop developing for the SGW and already IS developing for the S4 mini, would you now stop this all, put the S4 mini into a corner and buy a "T" because there is one person who is asking for a ROM for it?
So would you leave a complete S4 mini comunity alone, spend money for a already outdated phone and probably spend weeks or months to get a working ROM on it? I don´t think so. Would this make sense for you?
I think you can answer the question yourself.

A variant of a variant ... LoL, but the I8150 is not exactly a variant ... But a little ^^

Listen, I didn't make a big deal from this problem. I just asked if there is a rom for this model. I see No. That's all. I understand arco very well about the new phone he is working on. Don't need for explain.

Maybe it can be ported. In my opinion, it shouldn't be so hard to port since the hardware is (I think) identical. I'm trying to figure out a way. Don't go too far.

We are running the normal ROM on my wife's 8150T - the 'T' is mainly for a different modem (850-2100 instead of 900-2100 here, down under).
So just use any ROM and enjoy.

I did. not working. it says while flashing "error model" GT-I8150. means: the rom is compiled and in the "get.prop......" the developer wrote "GT-I8150". I think that is the problem. also showing error in "ancora". maybe this model is different not only in the modem. I downloaded cm9 EOL. I don't know.
which rom you flashed?
thanks.

Ahaha... Open up the ZIP and go to META-INF/com/google/android.
Now open updater-script and remove this part:
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "ancora" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "ancora" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "GT-I8150" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "GT-I8150");

Hmm. Good idea. I was anyway woundering why he is is saying it doesn´t work at all, as in the past there were at least two "T" owners here around who flashed it and it worked for them. Just when I remember correctly Mobile Data stopped working but everything else worked. So yes this will probably make the trick.

slovee78, can you confirmed this worked without issues on your 8150T? See PM if you could
I should edit this post. I'm in australia with a 8150T sold by Vodafone. as far as I can tell all the difference between 8150 and 8150T is that the T supports 850MHz on the 3G radio.
I simply rooted, installed arco68's CWM using Christian Göllner's Flashify, then installed the cm9 final (without modifying the above updater script). I'm not sure why but everything worked and flashed successfully. Compared to Vodafone-samsung-laced-&-bloated 2.3.6, this is heaven!!
For completeness, my phone had the latest Vodafone update prior to the above update

You wouldn't, your Galaxy Nexus would have it installed already.

I wouldn't flash a pre-release build (like this one) if you already have the release build on your Galaxy Nexus...
What if i'm running an old pre release build. How do I flash a .tar... through fastboot ???

Again, you wouldn't.
This type of release is not a release that can be flashed, you might be able push it all manually, but the release is just for curious people/developers who is looking at the software.

I haven't downloaded myself. I tar file is an archive like a zip file. What's inside? If it is a bunch of files, you will need to manually push them all to your device (like FISKER_Q said) using adb. If it is one image file then just use fastboot.

So I just downloaded it, and it is all the files in the /system partition. You can push them manually via ADB, or you can (or have someone) create a flashable zip and flash through recovery.

Yeah, I would like to know that to. I wan't to use CM10 for it's features, but now since JB I've become used to stock, with some additional apps that I missed since CM.

Paranoid Android glitches

Okay, so I was looking to flash a rom today, and I decided on Paranoid Android. So I flashed it, and then realized I had flashed an old version (I don't know which, because they label everything as just 2.+ or 3.+) So I said, no biggie, and I downloaded the 3.+ version for the Galaxy S3, and flashed it.
And then after a reboot.. I'm still on 2.+
I don't know why, I flashed 3.+, but the boot screen said 2.+ so I said.. hm, that's weird. The wallpaper I had chosen before I reflashed was also there, as well as all the options I had messed around with.
BUGS:
Keyboard doesn't work and notifies me on bootup that the process has stopped working
HOME BUTTON DOES NOT FUNCTION
I can't find an option to enable soft-keys. There was a picture on the official thread of a G3 with soft-keys on Paranoid Android. Dunno if shopped or real, though.
I would post this on the official thread, but you know, XDA thinks that I'm not experienced enough to ask questions about bugs in the development section, and told me to post here. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Oh, okay, so I went to flash again, for the third time, and Clockwork gives me this error, then aborts the installation.

[Q] What does this part of the installation do exactly?

Hey guys,
Been using Task650's AOKP on my S3 for a while now, but only the last few months I've had to modify the original zip file for the ROM before it'll install.
When using the ROM zip file as is, I get an error in TW's recovery. But when I remove the below section of the Update-Script file, the install will go through without any problems. I just don't know what exactly this bit of code does, and if it matters that I'm removing it. I can read what it says, but don't understand it's significance.
Also, any ideas why I need to do this every single time??

I dont know coding at all but I am going to ask something. Have you updated your bootloader for the latest task aokp ROM? The reason I asked is it looks like you took out the boatloader check or something of that nature out of the zip. That's my take and i could be totally wrong.

My baseband is: I747MVLDLK4. Does that look dated?
Thanks guys! That makes perfect sense! I'll give it a whirl.

Well shoot....your are on the correct one. Honestly it shouldn't even work if you take that out. VLDLK4 is the newest one. What about your recovery ? What version are you on ?

Dang! That's what I thought.
I went through a whole thing on Task650's thread. Almost got castrated for all the questions, and yet, it still doesn't work. I've even tried flashing stock, wiped SD, all sorts of clears. Nothing works. I haven't tried another ROM. That's the only thing I haven't tried yet. I didn't see how it'd be relevant.
I'm running TWPR 2.5.0.0, which I'm fairly certain is the latest version. I was using CWM before this, and was having the exact same issues. I thought maybe TWPR would work, but nope.
Thanks for the help dudes!

Makes no sense why wouldn't flash on there then. I would try another rom like the collective or illusion just to see if it flashes. I am thinking for some reason task's installer thinks you aren't on supported hardware. If you aren't having issues with anything then I wouldn't worry but that's only a build.prop/bootloader check and seems fairly standard.
BTW don;t ever ask questions in that thread. It's pointless... I completely understand task's shortness with everyone (my rom has 1/100th the downloads and I get frustrated to with the same questions haha) but the ganging up by vultures is completely uncalled for.

Amen buddy.
So I'm assuming since I'm already on the latest bootloaders, it won't matter if the installation bypasses the step? Because everything else seems to be working perfectly!

If you've been going it for a few months then I can't see how there would be an issue. If there was then something would have happened the first time around you did it.
