I have the galaxy note 2 for sprint rooted with synergy rom and perseus kernel. I am able to use data just fine but can not make or receive voice calls. Sprint has been able to temporarily fix the problem. I also did a backup and reset that fixed it temporarily. I have read that other users with rooted phones are having similar issues and even people without rooted phones are having problems with sprint's network. I can't tell if my issue is because my phone is rooted or because the galaxy note 2 on sprint is having issues. Should I just restore it to stock firmware?
I've had that issue as well. I was on a stock rooted ROM at the time. I restored the phone to stock, and still had the issue. I think my issue was Google Voice. I like it for voice mail. I didn't do the whole Sprint-Google Voice integration. Sprint had to remove Google Voice to fix it. It's lame. If you have Google Voice, it may be worth exploring.
Not sure what is causing this or how to fix it but i am experiencing the same thing on my whomp rom with the latest perseus kernel. This had happened to my last note 2 about 3 weeks ago so i had it replaced by a service center. It was working fine until last night. I was in a call and all of a sudden it lost signal, came back and when i tried calling, the call went through but i cannot hear anything, not on the headset, speaker or bluetooth. So im still not able to make or receive calls and dont know what to do lol.
called ffonsu
I erased my data 3 times, unrooted my phone and restored to factory. After I return from vacation I'll use Google voice and see if that's the problem. If not then I'll add the synergy rom. If it still works then I'll add perseus kernel. We could have all gotten bad downloads, but I'll investigate.
Any update on this problem my screen is cracked so sprint won't replace my phone or fix this problem. I also have no audio but only during outgoing or incoming calls.

I restored my phone to stock rom, re-rooted it and am now running mack's all star 5.0 with no problems. The problem may have been with the kernel because I did not reinstall perseus.

Specs: been rooted for awhile. Currently running end of days rom by magnus. Can't think of anything else thats relevent.
Problem : my phone no longer will call anybody. It says everytime '' cannot make this call at this time, try again later'' doesn't matter who I call it won't go through. It started today as far as I can tell randomly. I have great service and everything else works just fine including 4g and gps.
I tried: nandroid restore of both a sense rom and destroyer (aosp) and also did a factory wipe and re installed my current rom. I also went through the settings to see if I did something dumb. I didn't see anything.
Any ideas would be great, I'm lost without my phone.
I was having trouble receiving calls last night, I think Sprint is working on their network again. Try updating your profile and prl through settings and that may help.

Updated but no difference. I also updated the radio as well, just for the hell of it. No luck
I was having issues with google voice 2 days before so I deleted the account. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but it won't let me make a new account now.
this mite sound dumb but did u pay ur bill?
unless you're having problems on every rom, i'd say look into the prl. i flashed a rom 3 weeks ago that changed the meid on a evo, dont ask me how, but its true. so you might wanna check that also if its been repaired
Lol, yes. Bill has never been late. And I up dated prl and have nandroided back to two different roms. No luck.
I'm having the same problem last outgoing call I was able to make was at 2am. Every call today says call lost. I'm running CM's latest nightly.
Do you have the google voice integration enabled by chance? My wife's EVO without the integration enabled works fine, mine with it enabled I get that unable to place your call at this time message all the time. I spoke with Sprint about it and they were no help. I think it's a google problem. That means good luck getting any support. Google is great until you need support for something.

I fixed mine by flashing a stock rooted rom made a outgoing call worked fine. Then flashed back to CM7 stable and everything is working again.
Hi everyone. This is my first time posting on here, so here we go:
I am basically having issues making phone calls and sending/receiving text messages. Now I have talked to Sprint and they troubleshooted the issue with me and would get it to work temporarily. Then it would go back the original issue again. They said that it was not a tower issue. Also, my phone is rooted and running a custom rom. Issues seemed to occur a week or so after I flashed JB based rom by Phantom. Not saying that's the issue, but I figured I would throw that in there. I have also attached a screenshot of my about phone. Since then, I have flashed the original rooted rom that I have on my phone. Maybe you guys can suggest a few things. I have also tried the ##72786#. and that does not fix the problem. At one point, it would work temporarily.
Thanks in advance.
Are you in any part of the US effected by hurricane Sandy?
Ever since hurricane I don't receive calls at my house but go less then a mile away works just fine.
I switched on over to roam on VeriZon network with roam control and everything works.
I got told all towers are working in my area. I even flashed back to 100% stock unrooted.
I had Sprint note in my account I was having issues and depending on how long it continues I'll be getting a credit to my bill.

I'm actually located in Florida. I should be fine. Not sure what is going on. .
I'm a first-time poster here but I've been using XDA for years to root and flash phones. My first android phone was the EVO 4G and I've had about 5 since then, all of them rooted and flashed multiple times with no issues to date... until now!
My wife has an older T-Mobile Galaxy S2 (T989). She was having problems with the keyboard hanging and text messages lagging so rather then wipe it and restore the stock ROM I figured I might as well update it.
I used the latest release of CWM and rooted the phone with SU.
Then I flashed a new radio ( SGH-T989D_TLMC4_radio ).
Then I flashed Paranoid Android 4.0 beta 6.
Then I flashed mini gapps.
Everything on the phone seemed to be working great but then today at work she tried making phone calls.
The phone is able to dial and make calls and pickup and receive calls but the actual call quality is terrible. The voices are all broken up and have high pitched digital noise mixed in with the voice of the other caller.
Should I experiment with flashing different radios? I did a search and couldn't find much but I wasn't sure how to word the problem so it might be a common issue that I'm not aware of. Thanks!

I think the radio you named above is for the Telus version of the phone (not T Mobile). Here is a link to the radio thread:

I got my note 4 Thursday and rooted Friday night using the Tmobile auto root. Since then I am having problems making and receiving sms and calls. I am connected to wifi with no problems and can use regular data with no problems. I have AdBlocker Plus installed and thought that was the problem as I was also having the problem before I rooted. I have disabled ABP and still have the problem. Any ideas? I need my phone to actually work

Are any of you on "spark"? I'm not rooted and I've missed a call and a few texts I've sent haven't gone through. Just got phone yesterday. My neighbor is on the s5 and has same issues with spark. Not rooted. Just curious.

what is "spark"? I wasn't having any problems with my note 2 prior to this. Since I did something to fix it this morning, I haven't had the problem. I have no idea if it's resolved or if whatever I did was just temporary. I've called from my other phone several times and have been getting texts since.
Hello fellow galaxy users, I have this problem on my T-mobile Samsung galaxy s4 and it is when I make a call, I cant hear anybody on the like or the dial tone or anything, and when the other picks up my call they can't hear anything either. Also if I pick up a call I still cannot hear anything. It is just plain silence. NOW HERE IS THE WEIRD PART! If I turn on wifi calling, I can call and receive calls with out any problems, if I use skype I can hear from the speaker and everything. So my mic is working, my speakers are working, everything seems to be functioning... Till I make a call using data... My guess is its a T-mobile network issue? I called T-mobile and they didn't know what was wrong... I looked around google and many people are having the same problem with no solution... If anyone has any ideas or any solution and would like more info on this problem, please let me know!
Have a nice day !
im having the same exact problem! i have seen some fixes that people have posted with similar issue, leading them to believe its something with their bluetooth/ok google/s voice being involved. ive tried some of the fixes that have been posted, but no luck on fixing the issue on my end. but just like you if i go on wifi and make a call i have no issues what so ever! the sound also works just fine if i connect to a bluetooth device.
Are both of you on the full NH7 firmware?
Mismatched bootloader?
Pp.
fully stock rom, not rooted. OS 4.4.4, yes nh7
i will add that this is my first galaxy, that i haven't rooted or changed the rom on. i have yet to have a reason to root or change the rom on this phone, but if i have to, to get this fixed? i have no problem rooting and changing the rom.
also i have noticed that i drop LTE to 4g when ever i try to make a call. the wife has the same phone and is on tmobile as well but she has not had this issue.
Ok, since you are stone stock this could be a update issue, just out curiosity I would try a factory reset (hard reset ) it may solve the issue . If not I would go with stock rooted like ShinySide's rom not full custom until issue is solved.
Pp.
ive done a hard reset and the problem is still there. i guess ill go the ShinySide's rom way, until i get my s5 or wait for the rumored s6.
This by ShinySide will give you an option to flash a stock firmware if you choose to be stock again. Follow instructions using Odin.
