Hello everyone
I have the stock rom and it shows me there is an update. So now i have the rom rooted and i have a unlocked bootloader. Is there a way to update or must i flash the rom with flashtool again.
Thanks for reply.

You have to unroot. Then install the update via ota. Then re root.

It doesn't matter. The easiest way is to connect it to your pc via LG Support Tool which will update your phone regardless of your root/unlocked status.

No, I'm just wasting my time giving bogus assistance to people.
Of course I am sure it works. I've done it before as many other users in the past.
If you already have the latest kdz file, you can do it in a quicker way by using the flashtool but it sounds like you're new to all this.
You can unroot & update via OTA or use the support tool which will download the updated firmware and install it for you regardless of your root/unlocked status as I've mentioned before (select Update Recovery).
You won't lose any data or settings. It's like dirty flashing a custom rom.

If you're unsure about using the support tool, why don't you just unroot and update via OTA? Like I said above, if you decide to use the support tool, select "update recovery" (your phone should be connected as LG software usb mode). It will put your phone into a download mode, download the latest firmware (1.6gb), and proceed with the installation. If you choose the OTA method, the download size is much smaller.

Ok im now confused. When i want to install it via ota update i have just to unroot the phone, because i read that if you have an unlocked bootloader it will stick in a bootloop? So i have to go in supersu and click full unroot and install the update and re-root and the unlocked booltloader doesn't matter??
And via support tool: i have to connect the phone to the computer and download the full firmware and i don't lose the data, is it right? Sorry for this stupid questions but i have no idea.

In your case, since you have unlocked bootloader, you have to use the support tool. If you have only rooted the phone, you can use the OTA after unroot.

Voodoo OTA will protect root through the update. Just tested it on both of my parents OGPs.

Ic... but i have search on web it must download whole filmware. Is there any easy method to unroot?
Sent from my LG-E988 using Tapatalk
Nope. One click unroot apps don't remove all traces of root. Once you root, the only way to unroot is to flash it completely back to stock. You could waste your time trying to download the update but all it will do is detect your root and cancel.
how r you planning on updating to KK via OTA? or LG flash tool? if u r going to use LG flash tool to update to KK you dont need to unroot! if you are going to update Via OTA, then you need to unroot! and have stock recovery!

And all (if any) bloatware
System (system directory) and phone must be exactly like you got the phone before you rooted it and did anything to it.
Hi guys! I've just updated to the latest software version "F400k10l" but I can't find root. I get an error message "Whole signature not verified".
Any ideas?:fingers-crossed:
BTW.. I'm using the root tool from
http://androidforums.com/g3-all-things-root/850044-how-root-lg-g3-korean-version-lg-f400k.html
So basically what u mean is that ur phone got unrooted after the update?
I'm using 400s and I root it with towelroot if rerooting is what u meant.
Well I'm sorry if this doesn't answer your question I'm just trying to help

Hey there!!! Thanks for your reply
I had to flash back to stock and then update after stock was installed. The reason I had to flash back to stock was because the LG PC Suite was saying that I'm running the latest version but my phone had an update waiting..LOL !!
Long process... Updated to the latest Korean version but I can't seem to root after the update I don't feel comfortable using towelroot again cos it messed up my phone somehow

I am on F400K10l ( Korean variant ), the compatibility matrix https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hs0qlcGP80gl9wC0r9bs0AWMD-1D9iGgC9ulCG9roMs/edit?pli=1#gid=0

shows that only 10A and 10B but I'll try it this evening nonetheless :fingers-crossed:
EDIT : PurpleDrake doesn't root either. I had to downgrade to F400K10g and rooted with the root tool.

Nope, You need to root to install cwm. Else You can install even without rooting, but You need to unlock bootloader and flash a custom kernel which has pre-installed cwm.
