Check with your email provider to see if anything has changed. This happened to me not long ago and they had updated their security and I had to adjust a single setting to make it work again.
Alternatively, backup your email if needed. (Id use Titanium to backup the app and data) then in Application Manager, clear data on the email app. Reboot the phone and re-setup your email and see if it works again.
It does sound to me like it may be a problem on the provider side though.

EL30 Reply to e-mail problem

I was on a rooted Epic 4g EI22 and it worked well. Received the OTA EL30 update a few days ago, wouldn't install due to being rooted. Returned phone to stock EI22, did the EL30 update, then rooted the EL30. Phone works fine for the most part in the short time it's been on EL30.
The problem I experience is after choosing either 'sender' or 'all' when you choose to reply to an e-mail, the phone returns back to the mail inbox and I am unable to reply to e-mails. Has anyone else experienced this or have a solution to it?
With EL30 I also experienced a problem with not being able to answer incoming calls (could hear ringer) but no visible notification other than a force close button for the phone would appear. Quickly found a remedy on here which was to reduce the quantity of 'Reject With Message' options to less than five in the call settings menu.
Did you restore data to get your account info back? Clear data in the emal app and re-enter your account info manually.

Through the update process I made my phone return to a 'stock' setting with none of my personal data or user installed apps on it (same condition as if the phone was just purchased from a store). After rooting the EL30 I used Titanium Backup to put all of the apps and data back onto the phone.
EDIT: I just tried the suggestion of removing the e-mail account from the phone and setting the same account up again on the phone. In doing this, the reply function seems to work as normal now. Thanks for the help.

GMail Sending Issues?

Has anyone been having issues with their Gmail not sending emails?
I have tried to send emails but I keep getting the "sending..." notification in the email header.
The syncing icon in the taskbar just keeps spinning.
Ive tried to reboot the phone, etc.
Nothing.
I"m on Caulkin's ROM.
This is really frustrating as I use my phone for work as well and it delays my response times to important Clients.
Thanks!
Yeah experimented that a couple of weeks a go and dont know what of the 3 things I did was the one that worked:
1)Go to settings/Applications/Manage Applications in there go where the gmail app is (Downloaded or All) and clear the app data
2)If it have been updated in the market search for it in your apps in the market app ...uninstall it and reinstall
3)The last option is to use Root Explorer to go to system/apps delete the gmail app there and from other source paste another copy of the gmail app
Hope it works

I had the same issue on a stock rom (rooted). Turned out it was an app called Seal that was the culprit.
I learned that whenever I restore a backup, I have the clear data in Gmail or I get the same issue.
Not sure if it's the same cause for yours but clear data and send a test email. Pm me after, I'm interested to see if this works

Yup.
That's exactly what did it for me.
I went from UnNamed over to Caulkins last week and did a Titianium restore of my app+data.
Cleared the data in Applications>Gmail. That did the trick.

[Q] internesing and weird email behaviour on the dhd

hi,
something weird is going on, and may have been un-noticed for a bit
i can send emails from my pop account (using the email app on the phone) using wifi
but without wifi, the emails just wont send...i get an error saying that the email couldn't be sent
yet as soon as i turn on wifi, it works......its my smtp settings maybe....but i find this to be weird behaviour.....anyone else have this issue?
its a stock standard sense 3.0 phone (the problem i had probably before sense 3.0 also but never relly noticed it)
If your rom is not custom rom you may want to take full backup (Apps, Contacts, SMS and Call logs) and Reset the phone to factory data reset,.
If it is you are on custom rom, you can try the above method or just reflash and see if it helps. Remember to make backup before you do anything.
i've resolved my issue, it was enabling SSL on the outgoing settings.....i just didnt even think properly....i should have thought about that earlier

[Q] Gmail can receive emails, but deleting does not delete from Gmail.com

As the title states. The Gmail app on my phone, I can reveive and email but sending an email or deleting an email does not work. I can delete 5 emails on my phone, go the website and all thos emails are still there. And if I need to send an email forget it, I can go under my "sent' folder whether on the phone or the site and it just says "sending" but it never gets sent....... I have tried deleteing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling and still the same.........If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Uninstall the updates.
Have you looked in accounts & sync uncheck sync gmail. Check it to auto sync gmail. Just a thought. Do you have a backup of an older version try to install that one & see if issue is present in that app. Could just be a bad update.

Running AOKP milestone6 4.0.4
This happens to me every now and again. I remove the google account and re-add it. Also, sometimes just rebooting fixes the problem.

[Q] Freaky texting issue

I was wondering if anybody else has seen this issue. When I rooted my phone and installed my first custom ROM, I installed ChompSMS as I had purchased it some time ago. But when I tried to send a text using it, it would not send but would receive. I had to use the stock messaging app to send messages.I finally had to just remove it. I installed Handcent SMS instead and it worked fine. I newer version of the ROM can out and I decided to do a clean install. After doing this, Handcent SMS would no longer send messages but would receive. I had to use the stock messaging app again to send messages. I removed Handcent and thought I would try ChompSMS again and sure enough it works now. Is this particular ATT or the note 2 or something else entirely?

have you tried just unistalling either app then reinstalling it. when you say you are updating/changing roms are you restoring from an app or just downloading everything over again?
it maybe the way you are restoring the app its self. or maybe even just clearing cache and data from the chomp or handcent and reboot to see if that clears it up. i dont think this issue is tied to the phone.
I was installing the app from the play store.. I have tried removing and installing again, and I even tried restoring a backup from TB from a date when it worked. I restored without data and then with and that didn't help either.
and this was even happening on your stock Rom?
or not until you went to a custom rom?
Never tried it on the stock rom. The stock rom was only on it long enough to get from the ATT store to the house. I rooted it and customized it right away. I seem to recall this same issue happening on my original note a couple of times. I will try to get some more info to post here.
