I have a Korean e975 that is supposed to be able to operate its LTE at 2600. I am currently with FIDO (Canada) and have the correct LTE APN (and LTE sim) and I know that FIDO operates its LTE service at 2100 and 2600. I can currently only get 3G and H but no 4G speeds. I have asked FIDO to reset my account but it did not solve the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Are you sure it's e975 and not f180(k,l,s)??

If it has got the extandable antenna on the side (meant to receive tv brodcasts in Korea) it is the Korean version, no matter what is written in the smartphone infos. And since it is a korean version is able to operate only with 850mhz(f180l) , 1800Mhz(f180k) LTE. For the korean version there are no 2600 mhz Lte capabilities, sorry
Only E971, E976 and E977 have 2600mhz.
Ok....thanks for the info....bummer!
Is the extendable antenna useful for anything in canada? Thanks
Where are you going to plug in an extendable antenna?

Hi, I am in Korea right now. I want to get a cell phone that I can bring back to Canada when I leave in a few months.
Right now, I have the Vega Racer 2, and it'll only run on my provider back home on 2G (Rogers).
I can't seem to get the right information, so I was wondering if you guys knew what bands the Korean variants of the G has.
From research, it seems that only the S3 has quad-band 2G/3G bands. But I had a S3 back home, and that white Optimus G is mighty beautiful and exotic (they don't have the white model outside of Korea).
Thanks!
Optimus G is Quad Band 3G. The only difference is the LTE frequencies it supports, for example the one I have runs on 700/1700/2100 which is valid for Virgin Mobile Canada, Bell, Telus and Sasktel.

Tim4, I have F180K, and It's not working in WCDMA 900. I tried with Korean ROM, CM 10.1, my friends made tests with EU ROM+ korean baseband - so, I suppose you didin't try it...
Ofcourse im not, im using LTE 1800.
The freqs i wrote here are from network settings of F180K, try to it set as 900mhz, not an auto.
To enter network settings you have to input secret menu code, which i dont remember anymore, google it.
Also note that E975 stock rom doesnt have the hidden network settings (Or the code is different), only stock F180K rom has one.
I was testing it, and as i remember, (in stock Korean ROM) band 900 refers to GSM, same in CM 10.1
Does anyone know the secret code for the service menu as i am also trying to get my korean phone phone to work on 2100 or 2600 lte.
Thanks

I just bought a Optimus G E975 that operates with only 3G(HSDPA): 900, 2100 MHz frequencies. I'm currently on the Telstra network that only provides 850, 2100MHz frequencies for 3G. The 2100MHz is available in locations where there is high volumes of usage (city for example) but I'm never in these locations when using my phone so it's resorting to 2G connectivity.
Is there anything I can do to make the E975 compatible? or is it the case of the antenna design and therefore I'll have to change phones?
Note: I didn't know at the time of purchase but Australia has a LG Optimus G E975k designed (850MHZ, 2100 MHz for 3G) for the networks we have here.

After emailing the supplier about my issue, they suggested trying a new sim card. Could this be a real possibility?
Below is the message they sent after I informed them of the issue:
2G(GSM): 850,900,1800,1900,
3G(UMTS): N/A
3G(HSDPA): 900,2100, (not Next G
It should be related to the network APN settings. Also, it may due to your sim card problem, as this phone need to use new sim card.
Please contact your sim card service provider to change the new sim card, it is free of charge.
For the APN settings, you can go to settings, mobile network, ,then access point name (APN). Then you can click your service provider, then select APN. Then you can change the APN link according to your sevice provider official link
Thanks for your good communication
Please keep in touch, as i believe everything can be solved through communication

According to the official LG website and many others, the hardware only supports 900 MHz and 2100 MHz frequency on a 3G network. I wish what you were saying was true .
I tried flashing E975k firmware (i'm assuming it would install a e975k baseband modem) but I still couldn't connect to 3G. So it must be due to the antenna design.
I appreciate the response.
rogers(canada) also uses 850 mhz ...so maybe asking for an e971/973(forgot which one is bell, which one is rogers) modem??
are you suggesting to flash the e973 firmware since it has the 850MHz baseband modem? I've been flashing all e975 software.. havnt tried e973 yet
You will have 8 mpx camera instead of 13 mpx if you flash the e973 firmware but maybe you will solve your connectivity issues
I said modem only, not whole rom.

ummm Any updates on this?
I tried flashing a few modems "basebands" From the 977 Venezuela, also a f1800 modem and no go... my Phone its a E975 int. Flash Open Europe Firmware then the Modem of a 977 and no go...
Is there a work around or something to get 3g on this phone? "Movistar Venezuela"
3g problem
The phone won t stay connected on 3g. I start the data connection, 3g, but after a some time the connection stop all by itself with no posibility to turn on again. Only restarting will help, but ,again after a while same problem. The only pisibility to turn the connection on is only by restarting the phone. When i switch the 2g connection there s no problem. Thanks
hi everyone,
i would like to know if the LTE frequency of 1800mhz in LG G PRO E988(Philippines) can be change to LTE 2100mhz? because the ISP(Smart) here in my country only gives the frequency of 2100mhz for their prepaid LTE service... and this phone of mine has WCDMA only for the 2100mhz and only 1800mhz and 2600mhz for its LTE as per its box says...
i have read somewhere that this frequency band is encoded to the hardware(i dont know if its true) but is there a way to change it? like changing to custom rom, kernel, hacking, etc....
i really need to have a frequency of 2100mhz in LTE in this LG G PRO android of mine to support the prepaid LTE from my ISP ...
experts here, please need badly your helps guys...

thanks for the reply.
probably that is not an e988 version.
lg g pro has several variants as we know...
the e988 here has no 2100mhz for the LTE ---> http://m.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_g_pro_e985-5254.php
and also as i mentioned above, no 2100mhz also for LTE in its box, only 1800mhz freq.

I don't know how firstpost reached that conclusion. Not any literature on the net about e988 has ever mentioned LTE being present, hidden or otherwise... For example, this,

e988 LG G Pro has LTE capability but only supports 1800mhz and 2600mhz frequency bands (see the GSM Arena link i have posted above).
by the way, LTE also stated in its LG box

Theres NO changing of bands on this phone... Whats on it, is whats on it.
Bro, unfortunately LTE Band is hardware-variant-dependent and cannot be changed through software. The E988 variant only works on Globe LTE which is 1800mhz (B3), unfortunately you have to subscribe to 1 of their expensive postpaid plans to use LTE. I myself have a SMART prepaid LTE sim, and so I bought an AT&T E980 which has a 2100mhz LTE frequency, but what I failed to realize is E980 uses Band 4. SMART LTE only works on 2100mhz Band 1, so I am unable to use Smart LTE on E980 also. The only G Pro variant capable for Smart LTE is the korean F240L.
@ hyel
thanks. that's sad to know...
@ jrtancinco
thank you for the in-dept information bro. yes, i heard i can connect to Smart LTE thru their postpaid plan using my E988. Kinda confusing why there is so called Band 1, thought 2100mhz is enough.. I prefer the Smart due to Globe signal here in my place sucks big time. might as well buy a separate pocket LTE wifi, and keep this fast and amazing LG G PRO
------------------
*** UPDATE - i have tested three units of high end android phones (Samsung S4, LG G PRO, & Samsung Note 3) using postpaid LTE SIM in an unlimited Smart LTE Plan inside one location, versus a dedicated LTE Pocket Wifi; Result is, all the three high-end handsets have far lower speeds of the LTE compared to the LTE Pocket Wifi had delivered. Seems the LTE pocket wifi device has the dedicated hardware for more power and reach compared to a LTE built-in capability of a phone.
I now can conclude that its better to use a 'dedicated' LTE pocket wifi device than the built-in LTE of a smartphone handset if you want better LTE speed throughput.

Hey there,
I'm having exactly the same problem. I bought my e975 Optimus G in Germany and there
didn't occur any problems. LTE and 3g worked just fine. At the moment i'm living in Chile.
As soon as I was here, I bought a SIM card but I wasn't able to get 3g or LTE. Only 2g
worked.
I have the latest CM11 Snapshot M12 (4.4.4) installed on my phone.
Does anybody know what to do here? Do you think the problem is caused by a not supporter frequency band? I tried out the SIM card on another device
(Samsung Galaxy S4 mini), 3g worked there without any problems.
Maybe you can help me
Best wishes,

So I just got a new LG F180L and I am curious of the frequency bands as being a Korean model, might not work with my simcard.
I use TM simcard which is from the Philippines.
What is the 2G, 3G, HSDPA and LTE frequencies for the F180L? Does it have 3G/HSDPA?
I really need help as I did some research but most of it wasn't accurate and having mix up with the S and K model of F180.
Thanks and God Bless
