SunBeam Live Wallpaper - FPS Fixed - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

This APK is NOT the original SunBeam apk from the leak. That APK is broken and so is the FPS of the wallpaper. It looks crap since it is like a slideshow.
This is the Original Phase Beam apk from our phones with the red assets of the leaked one put into it. The effect is a totally fixed FPS that doesn't look like a slide show and performs very nicely.

For some odd reason this doesn't work on android 4.3 i'm guessing since the source files are different?

This was the only truely smooth sunbeam wallpaper I had been able to find...but since my HTC One got updated to 4.3....it doesn't work anymore. All others from leaks and from the market are choppy as hell and look like crap.
If this gets updated to work with 4.3 it would be awesome...until then I guess I'll be using a static version....

Agreed with above comments ... please please fix

This should run on 4.3 It does on my S3.

Sorry to bring up an older thread, but could anyone go into detail on how to fix the framerate for the *regular* Phase Beam? This modified APK runs great on all my devices with the proper framerate, but the stock Phase Beam noticeably lags (on a Nexus 5, Moto G, and Nexus 7).
I don't have an S3, but this is the only place I could find that had a proper working Sun Beam APK with a good framerate. I don't mind modifying the Phase Beam myself, just need some advice on how. Or, if there's already a modified one, can anyone point me there? Thank you!

All this does is take the colour information and image files form the SunBeam apk, and put them into the PhaseBeam apk...
Try this from my AOSP build:

I realize I might be resurrecting this from the grave, but the attached purple phase beam doesn't have the same fps fix as the sun beam one. Any chance to get the standard version fixed?

Live Wallpaper Question for AOSP users

Hi all,
I don't need to introduce myself, so I just thought I'd start a thread regarding a query I have.
I'm working on a new build very very shortly - which will be a Vanilla build hopefully based entirely from Villain4.0 Beta 2.
Anyway. The question is regarding live wallpapers.
For those of you who use/have used an AOSP rom, please could you tell me every live wallpaper which worked correctly?
Also... every one which caused the phone to soft reset?
Thank you in advance,
NPR
I have tried all available AOSP roms with live wallpapers and to be honnest ckdroid was probably the best, due to the fact that all live wallpapers i tried do actually run but then once you perform a lock / unlock cycle it simply reffers back to stock wallpaper which the exception of less 3D intensive wallpapers such as the one with circles of colour and the bouncy balls one ? sorry cant remember the names.
Maybe a Power Issue or CPU becuase ive heard several people say if you have USB plugged in they stay on ?
I would love to have working live wallpapers on my hero and have even started my own thread regarding them not working but nothing it seems people say they dont work on hero yet G1 and Magic has them and the upcoming open eclair has them working 100% apparently ! which annoys me because the hero is superior to both in terms of specs ?
I plan on spending a bit of time on trying to make them work. Maybe not immediately, but soon.

We're having this issue with the Eris too. It seems any wallpaper that uses OpenGL and RenderScript will crash when the phone sleeps when it's not plugged in. Others that don't use RenderScript work perfectly fine. The only one in LiveWallpapers.apk that works completely is the Polar Clock I believe. Other 3rd party ones such as Bezier and Duck Hunt work fine as well.
OP, If you fix this issue Eris users as well will thank you. It's had us stumped.
I found aHero to be the best vanilla, its got a working 5MP
In terms of live wallpapers the nexus MOD wallpaper worked quiet well except the problem with it disabling when you lock the screen or screen times out. Shame really because it was running find behind everything and not really lagging at all.

Where did you get the wallpaper from? If you have it as an .apk file then you need to use an app installer program, root explorer does this or just search the market for 'app installer'.
If its installed, its a case of pressing the menu button on the homescreen and selecting wallpaper>live wallpapers and it should be in the list.
maybe you should collaborate with the guy who made this rom posted yesterday
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651103
I have to say i flashed this last night, the rom has bugs that have been fixed in other roms so with a combanation of bug fixes ect this could be the one !
I have to say besides the bugs this is the best AOSP rom i have tried so far in terms of live wallpapers it seems even after sleep lock /un-lock cycle a lot of the live wallpapers work !
Working:
"digital Rain" Duck Hunt" "green" "water" "bezier" "Bokeh Rainbow" "grass" "living Colours" "LED scroller"
Not working:
"NexusMod" "EarthRot" "Galaxy" "Nexus" "Tea Garden"
Still testing others but deffinatley the best functionality so far !

so i took the files and changed the resolution to 320x480 and recompiled with custom live wallpapers 2.6.
and it works , its kinda system intense but i think dancing android is great.
I Currently use it at 50fps
see post #4 in this thread for a optimized apk
Im working on cleanup the images and speeding up the frame rat
it works in my Spica but a little bit lag with 50fps
THX
I have removed alot of artifacts and reduced the colours this has doped the file size and allows me to nicely run this at 30fps.
the only issue is in some of the images there is a white light in the back. ill clean this up sometime in the future.
Please uninstall the old version prior to installing this one

No...it just adds the ics gallery....the old 3d gallery will stay.......
Hi,
I have installed the two file but it's the same gallery (ICS Samsung Stock ROM LPQ) :/
No, you have to get a new "Gallery" icon, with a more pink-ish icon. It's a nice found, but QuickPic still seems to be snappier
@VAXXi
It's work
Thx for all.
Nice find, thanks for posting this. My only gripe is that .gif images don't work properly and there are a few graphical glitches.... Other than that, its much faster than samsung's outdated app in rendering of images as well as overall scrolling and speed.
Why are there 2 files though? I installed the second file you posted "gallery 2", hope that was the better working one.
edit: Ok never mind. I installed it, didn't realise it was a live wallpaper.
Thanks a lot man !
It works perfectly, it's smoother than the Samsung one (which is less smooth than it used to be on Gingerbread by the way... ).
Besides we get the terrific galery widget along with the apk !

Just tried the Gallery2.apk on LPQ seems to work well. Much nicer and faster than stock. Settings page is empty though, not sure what should be there.
Ah one problem.. doesn't seem to pull thumbnails for many of my videos, resulting in a whole page of black thumbnails... on a black background

On all types of videos?
MP4 videos display fine, any other type (i.e. ones not natively supported by Android) do not show thumbnails.
Will have another look tomorrow, just in the very slow process or starting over with a new rom..
The old 3d gallery displays also albums from Picasa Web Albums, and this one doesn't, only photos and videos existing on the phone ;/
And when I'm trying to enter settings, there's only a black background and nothing more
I actually prefer the latest Quickpic over ICS gallery. Better option list too.
QuickPic is still the fastest and the best imo..
Why in settings I see only black background?

[ROM] VanillaRocket - Mods please close this topic

UPDATE 4
Hello all,
Pending a new release for this ROM, I will stop supporting the "0.3" version originally posted.
I would like some help deciding cosmetics & features next release before it goes live. Please complete the following brief survey:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VJRLWRZ
A lot of fixes and changes have been made and requests have been accounted for as long as they do not deviate from the nature of this ROM being clean, functional, stable, good-looking, and ready to be a base for future devs. The appearance will be very AOSP-ish but with traces of TouchWiz.
Heads up: there will be no XLoud\Beats Audio by default. We have enough audio issues as it is and these are IMHO not any better than using DSPManager (aside from having the cute Sony\Beats branding stamped on them).
I'm not releasing anything until I fix the damn call echo issue ...worst case scenario I will workaround it by keeping Noise Reduction off. But I want to fix it
Q&A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24253640
General questions? post in the above link...it will help me keep track better
^^
I no longer wish to have two seperate topics. So post here...but wait till the next release before you do
First of all, thank you to Racing19969 and anybody else associated with the Skyrocket ICS port...you made this possible.
Also want to thank CyanogenMod (<3) and the original author of DSP Manager (will find credits tomorrow) from which I borrowing DSP Manager for this ROM
The goal: to make a CLEAN, no frills alien TouchWiz + ICS rom. Its not meant to be exciting or have a crazy amount of hacks in it. In fact as of right now, the only packages added from the community are SuperUser and DSP Manager. And I don't plan on changing that.
Current status is...the ROM is running and its running QUICK. But there are some minor issues to be worked out and some beautification to be done.
The priorities:
Stability
Friendliness
Battery Life
If you are going to comment without constructive criticism, then just look away from this thread. The ROM is what it is. If you are going to install it, I would appreciate pointing out as many bugs as you can
For right now (temporarily): I did add the wonderful, feather-weight Zeam Launcher alongside TouchWiz...this is because I had issues with TW force closing on me early on in the modification process. So until more progress is made on this ROM, I've decided to keep it in there in such an event that TW decides to be unhappy and constantly force close.
A *lot* of bloatware was removed, especially from AT&T and some of Samsung's own social/media/diary/etc packages. I want this ROM to be STABLE, fast, and clean.
Next release ETA:VERY VERY SOON. NOW THAT AUTO ROTATE WORKS :-D
That being said, there are still issues to be worked out. Here is the list of changes made right now:
Added DSPManager from update-cm-9-20120330-NIGHTLY-galaxys2-signed, not functional ATM
Added Gallery, Mms, and Shutdown from GT-I9100 XWKI4 ROM; This fixes the shutdown issue, the Gallery landscape resize issue, and the delete SMS thread FC issue
Also added Browser from GT-I9100 XWKI4 ROM; not only is it more stable but the Search icon is fixed in its place and it has more features
Added apns-conf.xml from above CM9 nightly
International Galaxy S2 boot animation (AT&T anim is hideous)
Removed many many bloat; I'll try to compile a better list later
Added latest version of Polaris Office from T-Mobile ROM...It's a simple, lightweight, and pretty good doc editor/viewer
Already rooted

PS, my personal opinion...install the Telus radio. no echo issues thus far. But if you don't know what a radio is....don't do it.
Update: I have big suspicions that this is a RIL or qualcomm audio config issue. It is now the priority problem which I will look to tomorrow..
Enjoy
Update coming tomorrow..
For today I am tired!
Hopefully I can get this one to boot. Raver's just gives me booltloops to eat. We'll give this a run. I'll report back.
Edit: booted right up and is going well. Nothing too crazy yet. Will keep you posted.
Youtube played well and video was right on. I could actually hold it in landscape and watch video with not much effort.
>>DARKSIDE
the first boot may take a few min as this is Deodexed
Also, nice to see a fellow P999er here
I have been running the port for the past 3 days and the only issue I have is the rotate and I know that's a kernel issue but that port took many flashes and reboots. Let's see if this one is easier to install and I'll report later.
Edit : I always use darkside wipe just like on my transformer there some kind of wipe just like it and I'm so glad that the gs2 has it too.
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S II
It's important to to siperwipe. Darksides script works perfectly everytime, but prior to using it it took me many attempts to flash the leak. I am looking into hacking usermode android into invertig the kernels auto rotation parameters. Dirty hack but I believe it is possible
by looking at the change log I think you are on the right track! I do have one question, on the ics skyrocket leak, I noticed there is a lot of freezing and watching streamed videos is damn near impossible it lags beyond belief, so I was wondering if you had a chance to take a look at some streamed videos.

Screenshots I will try my best to do tonight, although I do not think I can until tomorrow (~12 hours from now since we're all in different timezones)
I'm not into any drastic theming, so there is not much specialty here. I like clean and simplicity....I cannot BELIEVE AT&T and Samsung even plan on releasing the current ROM they have for Skyrocket. It's bloated to hell.
EDIT:
If anybody can confirm the following MD5 with the mirror:

I started the video then turned on screen rotation then held in vertically and slowly moved to horizontal and voila. I used the YouTube app that came in the rom.
The only real gripe I have right now is that the sideways scrolling16 panel toggle (thanks lidroid & RaverX3X) and the folders ui in gtab simiclock is pretty sticky, from lack of a better word. I'm sure it's due to the rotation issue. Looking good so far. Adwex hauls ass on this rom.
Oh yeah and vignette is great for pics too, alas youbhv to go into gallery and rotate them. Snaps em quickly tho. No delay like the stock camera.

Let's get clear on topic:
GalleryGoogle.apk 1.1.40001 on JellyBean 4.2 Introduction, first generation of Photo Sphere, been working on multiple devices since then..
GalleryGoogle.apk 1.1.40012 on JellyBean 4.3 Introduction, prior to this thread it crashed after taking first photo under Photo Sphere mode on endeavoru running HTC Sense 4+ & 5. AOSP have no problem, though.
What's new in Photo Sphere on version 1.1.40012:-
The Photo Sphere team worked incredibly hard for +Android 4.3, so there are a few big quality improvements that you're going to love!
First, alignment and stitching are much better, giving you more level horizons and fewer errors throughout the image. While environments with lots of moving things are always challenging, scenes like the one attached here with a long flat horizon are now much better.
Second, we've improved exposure compensation for each individual frame, producing a beautifully exposed photo sphere. You can compare this to the previous versions that produced gray areas and inconsistent coloring in areas of high contrast (near the sun, horizons, buildings against blue sky, etc.).
Thank you to the incredible team of engineers that I work with who really make it fun and inspiring to come to work every day!

FAQ:
Bouncy landscape on Photo Sphere viewfinder.
All I can tell is the app doesn't my panasonic gyro scope.
90° rotated landsccape on Photo Sphere viewfinder.
Known issue on endeavoru since .40001, simply switch between modes it will resolve itself.
A blink of artifact while finish capturing Photo Sphere.
No harm, either deal with it or remove the APK.
My advise on Panorama.
Endeavoru suffer poor performance while scanning panorama, wrost case scenario may be system not responding.
Since it had no advantage over stock, you shall opting HTC camera for Panorama instead.
How to completely uninstall?
Uninstall the APK, then remove system/lib/libjpig.so through file explorer.
I'm not Endeavoru owner, can I use it?
If you have a device running HTC Sense 5, the answers is most likely positive.
For others manufacturers' devices, it's hard to tell.. Worth a try, though.

Awesome Googlers working on Photo Sphere, Adobe's XMP...
I would like to express my apologies to Joint Photographic Experts Group for renaming libjpeg to libjpig
Reserved for murmuring.
It all begin with introduction of a newer version 1.1.40012 eventually broke GalleryGoogle compatibility on Endeavoru (and tegra devices).
Despite minor 0.0.00011 version bump in numbers the update actually packed in bunches of improvements , unforunately our beloved tegra is complaining.
Logcat: F/native (13549): image_transform.h:27 Check failed: resizer.Resize( ... )
The crash thrown from the burdensome native library lightcycle.so right after each time first photosphere photo taken.
P.S. LightCycle is the codename of PhotoSphere.
Meanwhile we must have native libraries embedded along the apk ready to be loaded from system in order to let the app up and running properly.
For instance .40001 had 3 native library, .40012 carried pretty impressive amount counting 27 libraries.
Among one of them is libjpeg.so, you can get to known what is it about straight from the name.
The libjpeg.so conflicted with another version used by our system libraries, libjpeg.so used on tegra devices suspected including proprietary sauces for hardware acceleration on pictures encode/decoding.
Replacing it on a tegra device will render your android with crashing loops because of JPEG. If you try to take a photosphere after replacing it, photosphere works..
However there is no excuse to keep it on your system will ever stoping crashes simply it can't process images, you can't see most of them either.
After identified root cause, I was able to came up with a little hacky solution altering lightcycle.so to look for libjpig.so[A rename & edited version of libjpeg.so from GalleryGoogle] instead of original libjpeg.so on tegra system.
Somehow Android jni interface will refuse to load libjpig.so from data app path, let us no option but adding libjpig.so into /system/lib/.
I suspected the situation occured because the libjpig.so is invoke by lightcycle.so directly and not a nativelibrary load through app.
Click to collapse
Concluding what I'd done in simple.
Extract GalleryGoogle v1.1.40012 from latest Android 4.3 firmware of HTC One Google Play Edition.
Make lightcycle.so re-point to libjpig.so instead of libjpeg.so to avoid conflict.
Rename libjpeg.so from GalleryGoogle to libjpig.so plus giving it a new soname.
Repack the apk embedding all 27 native libraries to avoid flooding them into /system/lib/. Still need libjpig.so to be there, though.

Sure. The problem that causes force close originally had something to do with tegra. I solved it on One X, so X+ accounted.

It will work on any custom Rom. Just try it yourself.

In fact, I already do that. All native libraries is embed inside the apk.
Just updated post #2, the reason why it cannot be a full standalone package is well stated there.
What's the point? Any benefits over the stock camera and gallery? Screenshots weren't much help.
Gotta try this one.
I installed it and it works, the panorama and regular photos turn out Ok. The only problem is when I try to take a photosphere, the first couple of shots are aligned but after a while the composed image starts spinning without me moving the phone, it's like a slow drift that makes impossible to get a 360°. Anyone else has this? Is it software related or the phone sensors could have something wrong?
I've tried recalibrating everything but there is no improvement.

what's up with part 1 and part 2 in the downloads...? I'm on ARHD 31.3, and there's no mention how or why to use the parts.
Quick Note on Kitkat
So it's KitKat time.
What changes? Gallery and Camera are now seperated respective packages, previously the was under single GalleryGoogle.apk
com.google.android.gallery3d 1.1.40304
com.google.android.GoogleCamera 2.0.001 (893803-30)
They will provide you a Gallery and a Camera, installing either one is fine but they are slight dependency on each others.
You will need both, so make things it simple.
You will also need the new Play service 4.0 to be able view Photo Sphere through updated Gallery.
The same libjpeg.so trick I applied on previous version still work so now here is a updated version.
Previous patch works fine, an update to date version is always advisable.
Since they came under Nexus 5 as system apps and has been splited into two, that mean harder to tracker down native libraries.
Almost certainly I missed some libraries on both packages, thus not everything works for now
Good news is Photo Sphere works fine, however you will get empty result for the Photo Sphere tutorial.
Meanwhile I said we wait for GPE devices' OTA to see if they are distributing unstripped version of apk like before. Everthing will be easy if there are libraries embedded inside... See ya~
Flash the patch_1.1.40304.zip & Install the apk as usual.
Grab all necessary file here..
Camera app still FC when selecting Photosphere
this will work in a original rom?
