[Q] W I8150 Installing Gingerbread Back - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hey guys good night....
i have one issue to ask you...
i have one samsung w and i made it cynogen mode 10.1 but now i want to sell it but i dont know how to install back gingerbread back...
So if you help me about that issue step by step i appreciate that cause i need money immediately...
i searched for it in the forum but im rookie about forums and this kind of technolgies at least now... so even if this issue was asked i ma sorry about cause i am asking again...
Thank you

Just download a stock firmware from samsung, then open in clockword mod and wipe everything.go to mounts and wipe system, data, cache.then pull battery off to turn it off cause from recovery there is no option.open odin on pc and phone in download mode and connect it to pc.then in odin untick and tick one-package,choose ops and select the ancora.ops(same you used for clockword mod) and choose one package button and select the stock .tar.md5 update and click start!!that's it!!
It's very important to wipe everything before flashing stock firmware so you avoid bootloop!!
When phone boots after flashing,it's all stock again!!!
I've done it many times before cause i get bored easily and flash roms all time!!

Because on the "etc..." part, there is one step that's called wipe /system partition (from "mounts & storage" section, by selecting "format /system") which most likely you skipped.
In case you don't have CWM anymore (as I think you don't), put the phone in Download mode and flash CWM again using ODIN.
Enter CWM and:
1. select "wipe data/ factory reset"
2. go to "mounts and storage" and select "format /system"
3. on the same page, select "format /sdcard" (make sure you DO NOT format /external_sd by mistake)
After that, put the phone in Download mode again and flash the stock ROM using ODIN.

Not sure why you quoted your own post...but you're welcome. The guy before me has already told you the same thing (that's also why I didn't reply earlier to this thread) but yeah...apparently you didn't do everything he said. Maybe the more schematic/concise approach was better for you. So, as I said, you're welcome. Keep in mind to do that whenever you install a new ROM (be it stock or custom, but especially when switching from custom to stock ROM).
Best regards.

i would like to thank both of u guys thanks for your wisdom and sharing i can sell it now

[Question] I can't root nor flash a custom rom on my Galaxy S3

Hi, I'm new here & I've been searching countless hours through the forums & Google trying to find my answer but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
This is my first time I ever "root" my Android device, I've had experience in jailbreaking my iPhone in the past but nowadays even a baby can do it.
The thing is, I was following these guides here trying to flash this Jelly Bean rom:
(Apprently new guys can't post links to guides... okay..

*guide 2
I have a T-Mobile T999 Model so I got that nailed down.
When I boot into that recovery whatever I get a different screen than the one presented on this screen:
*picture 1
==========================================
When I'm around that step I get :
"Volume up/down to move highlight;
power button to select. (though in the tutorial it says home? wtf?)
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apple update from cache
==========================================
That's all I get, though in the tutoral it says:
"Copy the downloaded zip files from step 3 and step 4 to the internal SD card. Do not extract them."
&
"Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to the ROM file on the SD card and select it. Confirm installation by selecting Yes – Install _____.zip on the next screen. The ROM will start installing."
Though, the thing is. I don't have "Install zip from sdcard" just some big ol' robot in the background with some wierd stuff in his chest like blue wires. What happened?

You are still on stock recovery. You need custom recovery to flash roms. To get a custom recovery use odin. Found here-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421&d=1341114315
Download one of the attached recoveries and load in PDA slot of odin.
When you open ODIN, there will be 2 boxes checked. F.Reset Time and Auto Reboot. I recommend that you uncheck Auto Reboot so only F.Reset Time is checked. When the flash is complete,(green box says PASS!) your phone will not reboot by itself. From there Hold Vol-Up+Home+Power and boot straight to recovery.
Once you boot into custom recovery, flash this to root your current rom http://k0nane.info/rom/ecm/TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip.
Alternatively, you can just skip to flashing your CM10 rom (after a nandroid backup of course)

Hello!
I've done this Odin portion already, I've already gotten past the Odin "PASS" & all that good stuff. The thing is, when I do Vol-Up+Home+Power I'm I'm shown only this:
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apple update from cache
I am not doing Vol-Down-Home-Power since that's just the other recovery correct?
The question is .. do I need a Sdcard to flash a rom into my galaxy s3? cause I don't have one..
Edit:
This is the recovery mode screen I'm shown when I do Volume-Up-Home-Power:
www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=UxaVXJJdhhk
I don't have that model it's just showing you the recovery screen I get. I'm guessing it's not the custom one?
Use Odin and CWM from my signature.
I got it, I know what's wrong to anyone else having this problem.
To those that applied the Samsung update - samrung overrides the recovery if you don't remove the battery!

And I'm fairly certain you need a sdcard to flash ROMs.
You don't need an external sd to flash roms.

[Q] Noob wanting to load a custom rom

I've been browsing the forums for a couple of months. Read lots of how-to guides but they all give different ways of doing the same thing.
Thought I knew a lot about computers, but feeling like a noob
GT-N7100 (international) running 4.1.1. Rooted using N7100. Backed up all my apks and data using Carbon, the backup app. I assume that if I wipe the device I can restore... so I'm good to go.
Wanted to put on a custom 4.2 rom so I picked Carbon (1.4-2FEB2003). Reviews looked favourable.
Downloaded Rom Manager v5.5.2.3. Clicked "Recovery Setup", rebooted, my Current Recovery is now Clockworkod 6.0.1.9.
Downloaded the rom using goomanager. Rom is sitting in a zip in a directory on my sd card.
Installed Mobile ODIN Lite v3.65 since I wanted to keep the flash count at 0.
Mobile ODIN doesn't see any of the files (they're zip). If I unzip them using an external zipper then I can manual select "Kernel" boot.img, but no idea what files to select for the rest of the options. Ok, so abandoned ODIN.
Back to ROM Manager. Install ROM from SD Card, however that app appears to be bugged since it's not able to show the external sd card, (extSdCard) and just shows internal memory.
Installed ROM Toolbox Lite. Install ROM from SD card. Browsed onto the SD card. Hurrah... picked the rom. ROM Pre-Installation appears, picked Backup Existing ROM, Wipe Data and Cache (shudder), Wipe Dalvik Cache. Ok. Reboot and install. OK. Phone reboots.
Into ClockworkMod.
Screen appears with a falled down droid. Options are: reboot system now, apply update from ADB, apply update from external storage, wipe data/factory reset/ wipe cache partition, apply update from cache.
No idea what to pick. I'd have expected to get a "install rom from sd card" or some other such option, since "update" sounds like just changing clockworkmod.
Choosing "reboot system now" and the system comes back up as if I hadn't told it to install rom. Apply from external allows me to browse the rom but then I get ann E:signature veritifcation failed.
Hard-reboot. Back into 4.1.1.
I can plug into my computer (mac - so no Odin). While I'd like to keep my trianges away etc for warranty, it's not 100% critical.
How to progress further? Which of the several flashing tools should I use? What noob mistakes am I making?
1st Of all Every time You Flash a Custom Rom or boot into recovery mode ur binary will be increased so its pointless to use Triangle away while you are rooted , But when you decide to make ur device completely stock then use Triangle away and flash a Stock Rom which will unroot ur device and get ota updates back.
Now for flashing custom Roms its simple By Using any custom recovery Clockworkod or TWR.. etc:
1- Turn Off ur device then boot into recovery ( Vol up + Home + Power)
2- Make sure you have downloaded the Rom to your external SD Card
3- Wipe data Factory Reset ( Your External will remain untouched)
4- Wipe Cach
5- Wipe Dalvik cach
6- Finally Install Zip From SD Card an choose install Zip from External Card , Aroma Installer will popup then you can take it from here

Would you expect the Install Zip from SD Card option to appear if I'd skipped steps 2-5. I.e. if I haven't factory wiped yet, would the option not appear? Or should it always be there and there is something else wrong?
Thanks for your help BTW.

if u skip steps 2-5 you will face problems in the new rom. even worse the new rom may not boot normally due to leftover system data files n settings of the previous rom.
best way to flash is to reboot to recovery rather than using some softwares.
always make a nandroid in clockwork "backup n restore" option prior to flashing new rom.

Maybe this is where my confusion is coming from. I'm not seeing a backup option in the clockwork menu. Nor am I seeing a flash rom option, or anything other than the few options.
Those options are: reboot system now, apply update from ADB, apply update from external storage, wipe data/factory reset/ wipe cache partition, apply update from cache.
That means you haven't flashed cwm recovery.

According to ROM Manager on the phone I'm getting told
"Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 6.0.1.9
Latest Recovery: ClockworkMod 6.0.1.9"
I've tried reflashing the recovery a couple of times but it makes no difference.
I've checked clockworkmod.com/rommanager and indeed 6.0.1.9 appears correct.
Is there a different tool I should be using to put the cwm recovery into place?
Again, thanks to everyone so far for your help. This noob wants to not be a noob

When you say "in recovery" did you mean in the ROM Manager app, or somewhere else? I'll assume you meant when booting in recovery mode.
If I boot into recovery mode (from ROM Manager, click the reboot into recovery, or by power off/on with keys) I get the fallen down droid, and the following:
"Android system recovery <3e>
Volume up/down to move highlight:
power button to select.
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache

Hmm... screenshot definitely doesn't look like that. So what do I need to do to get that recovery installed? ROM Manager doesn't seem to want to do it. I wonder if the way I got root is the problem?

I've downloaded the file (6.0.1.9) and it comes as a .img file. However, by default, mobile odin wouldn't handle it. Searched and found another post that said to rename it to "recovery.img" and... MO found it. Hurrah. Flashed. Hurrah.
It rebooted into it once. All looked good. But on reboot it's gone. I'm a lot further along than this morning so thank you. I'll go play some more!
Rename the following file
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
to
/system/recovery-from-boot.p-bak
With root explorer or something.

You have to use Odin for it, and also ancora.ops which is provided in arco's CWM thread. You first need to download Odin. Check on www.sammobile.com what the latest stock for your region is. Search the stock somewhere around here and in the dev-forum. Reboot your phone to download mode when connected to PC. Open Odin, insert ancora.ops and check one package. Choose your stock, most probably a .tar.md5 and flash it. Your phone will reboot and then you'll be on stock. When I did this with my softbrick I also lost root and CWM.

Not sure that's gonna work since the recovery will also be replaced by the stock one.
If that's the case, I would do the following things:
1. Download CWM for Samsung Galaxy Wonder from here. (It's also available in the development section here.)
2. Flash it via ODIN, by following exactly the same steps as for the ROM flashing.
3. Enter CWM and:
clear data (factory reset)
clear dalvik cache (under "advanced" menu)
go back one step and under "mounts & storage menu -> select "format /system" option. This step is crucial for a clean install!! Especially when changing Android versions.
under the same menu, go ahead and format /sdcard. (Be careful NOT to format /external_sd !)
4. exit from there and put your phone into Download Mode again (Home button + Volume DOWN + Power Button).
5. flash the stock ROM via ODIN
6. That's all. Good luck!
Hope you got the correct stock ROM. Also, I hope this little tutorial helps you fix your phone.

if you want you have to go back to GB stock rom flasing using odin downloader .. and if you undergo bootloop you should wipe data and wipe cache in recovery ... get my drift?

Hehe. I'm glad I could help.
In the future, please, don't name your threads "help me" or "need help" cause it's harder to look for. Try to give it a name such as "Galaxy Wonder Android downgrade to stock" or "Galaxy Wonder stuck in bootloop".
Again, I'm really glad now it works. And I hope you learned something today.
arsradu said:
Not sure that's gonna work since the recovery will also be replaced by the stock one.
If that's the case, I would do the following things:
1. Download CWM for Samsung Galaxy Wonder from here. (It's also available in the development section here.)
2. Flash it via ODIN, by following exactly the same steps as for the ROM flashing.
3. Enter CWM and:
clear data (factory reset)
clear cache
clear dalvik cache (under "advanced" menu)
go back one step and under "mount & storage menu -> select "format /system" option.
If any questions, just ask. We'll be here to help.

unnecessarily hard like that bro ...
just flash stock rom via odin downloader and if you have bootloop did wipe data and wipe cache in recovery after the install is complete ..
and it accomplishes everything ..

Please, read up.
It's not unnecessary and apparently it works.
I'm not sure the STOCK Recovery has those options and I'm not gonna flash it just to prove my point. But I hope you remember the fact that, after flashing the stock ROM via ODIN, CWM will be replaced with the stock recovery.

Ok. As a note of advice for the future, don't just install ROMs one on top of the other. Do it clean, always, to avoid such problems.
For all ROM installations, please, follow the steps below:
First, make sure you got the ROM and the correct Gapps on your External SD Card.
After that, enter CWM and:
select "wipe data / factory reset"
go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
under the same menu, format /sdcard0 (be careful NOT to format /sdcard1, or /external_sd for older CWM versions, by mistake)
install the ROM (from the external sd)
install Gapps (from the external sd)
reboot your phone
Please, note that every step of this tutorial is mandatory!
Note: if you've got pictures/videos/documents, but NO application data (such as specific app files/settings), that you want to save, move them to a location on your External SD Card or a computer, because you're about to format the internal memory. If you want to move them back, you can do it after flashing the ROM.
Hope it helps.

Is the new battery an original battery? And also, did you try to connect your phone to charger and enter CWM like this? Also, which CWM version did you install and where did you get it from (link to the thread maybe)?

Ok, please, try replacing your CWM recovery with this one here.
You can either use the tar.md5 file and flash it via ODIN (using a Windows PC) or, if you would have a working ROM, download the zip file, extract the recovery.img from it and flash it via Flashify (downloadable app from Google Play Store). Tell me if it makes any difference. The new CWM version should be 6.0.4.5.

I just tried it with my phone:
-Open Odin Multi
-select "Ancora.ops"
-mark "One package"
-select "recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.5-ancora.tar.md5" under "integrate package"
I tried to mark and unmark "auto reboot"
Flash process only succeeds if it autoreboots.
AND have you uninstalled samsung kies? You can manually close all kies instances and processes via task manager, but its more safe to uninstall it and only install samsung USB drivers.
This is how you did?

Can you still enter download mode?
If yes --> try flashing again and see if you can enter CWM pls (Volume up + Home + Power)

Could you please, try another battery? I know you already changed it once. But just to be sure. Also, in the video, are you trying to start the phone after plugging the cable or does it automatically go into that recovery screen and then reboot?

[Q] Install CWM based on Recovery v6.0.4.6 succeed but not working

Dears,
Moving around for 4 hours .... Reading forums .... Didn't find solution yet.
I have a new Samsung GT-i9195 LTE from the box, I have followed the procedure to install on this device CWM to install at the end CM-11.
I have the same pb if I am using the windows procedure (Odin) or the Mac procedure (heimdall), when I reboot on recovery mod, I can see CWM with all the menu (reboot system now, install zip, wipe data ....) ... But if I select, as example "advanced" nothing happen, same for "install zip" and all the rest .....
Any ideas ?
Thx

It might be corrupted, I would try flashing with Odin again and/or downloading it from elsewhere. I had no problem running that version for a long time apart from the select button sometimes changed its mapping from the 'home' to 'power' button!
I now use and highly recommend TWRP. I shan't be going back to CWM.
