Looking for a vanilla android mms.apk but had the option to color your messaging bubbles and backgrounds.
I had it when I was using a nexus 4, and was hoping it was around here somewhere.
It also had where you could enable emoji in the settings as well.
Thanks

No idea mate, sorry .. You could always try checking the res folder in the apk and see if there are any backgrounds you could edit.

Hey, I have not found a thread here on apk themes so I thought I would suggest one. I know there's themes on the market but I'm burnt on them and always looking for new ones! I know themes are posted here but I thought it would be nice to have the apk themes in one thread! I hate flashing now because you sometimes have to be rom specific whereas apks pretty much work with any cm7. Anybody that want to post links or downloads to apk themes will be much appreciated!

Check the General Android forum, there's a sticky with all the apk themes for cm7 theme chooser.
Ok, thank you. But when I downloaded most all of the themes they either don't work at all or are missing something. Is it my rom?

Stupid question but after downloading and installing you are opening the theme chooser app?
If you are and when selecting the theme you get an error message saying this theme is missing assets for your screen size, ignore it and hit ok, then reboot your phone.

Some themes don't all ways show in the selection screen, if you scroll really slowly you will occasionly see the name of one which is in between 2 themes with previews but has no preview of its own. If you scroll carefully you can stop on these themes and select them

I know within the stock Samsung messaging app you can change the text bubbles and the background. My question today is...it's it possible to use custom message bubbles and background?
If so where's would I have to place those files for them to be usable within the app?
Thanks

I do not believe this is possible as of right now. I have not seen any other threads indicating it's possible. I too would like to see this happen though.

I'm pretty sure it is possible for themers to do it

Wow do I actually get to contribute something for once?? LoL I'm so used to absorbing all the knowledge here being the noob I am.
Aside from what the others recommended, I haven't seen any easy ways to add custom bubbles but I did recently notice that you can easily change the background to a custom picture.
If you go into your messaging settings and choose to change the background, there's an option to add your own picture whether it be from your gallery or directly from your camera. The one and only downside is that you're limited to one custom background at a time... if you change it, your new choice will overwrite the old. No big, tho.
I remember looking for this option back on ICS but never found it so I'm assuming it was added with the JB update.
(I'm running on rooted stock ROM, btw.)

I did this for my GS2 because I love blue and gray together. I am using an mms.apk from a rom in the dev section right now, but this weekend I'll try to work on theming the stock mms.apk with different colors. I'll upload when/if I get time this weekend.

Quick question: is there any modification or ROM that allows you to change the Holo theme from black to white? I'm just getting tired of the black. Or is that an impossible request?

Press thanks If I helped you.

Oh, so it is not a set amount like in GPe 4.3 launcher? If so, that is a nice touch. Never did like being stuck with 5 homescreens (that is a little too many for me).
