I need more info. Did you do a clean install;wipe data, cache, and dalvik? Is the speaker working for other apps? What, if any, mods did you flash after initial rom flash. I haven't had this problem on this rom, but all phones are different it seems. So I need as much info as possible.

Yes, clean install;wipe data, cache, and dalvik no mods or tweaks-
The speaker is fine, I can hear them no problem. The microphone when the phone is on speaker phone does not work however. People say they can barely hear me at all and I've tried calling myself and can confirm that it sounds very low and crackly. When I reinstall a TW rom..it works flawlessly.
Does it have anything to do going from JB to Slim? When I reinstall JB rom i use the 2x wipe. I ran out of things to try so I went back to TW but would rather be on slim + zap kernal

I would try another clean install, wipe data, cache, dalvik, like three times.Just to make sure nothing is left behind and flash rom from the eL29 direct boot kernel. I have seen this issue in other roms, now that I did a little research, and it seems phone specific. I myself have never had a mic problem. I will keep looking, so keep an eye on this thread. Also, did you go to JB correctly. Using the one - click full restore....this partitions you're phone correctly. Could have nothing to do with you're problem, but wanted to ask..I think the full restore is the one you want, just grab the one that wipes you're internal memory. Yep....back-up time.

My first flash since I bought it was a one click, however, I went to other TW roms and used the 2x wipe zip since then. When I went to slim ( and even black bean ) and I used the el29 direct boot. I noticed it happens only on AOSP roms..maybe it is just my device.

Yep, it could be you're device. I'll keep looking and hit you up if I find anything. But this phone is wonky that way. I can't run Dirty Unicorn. It flashes fine and runs great, for about a day. Then the grimlin's come out. Still trying to figure that one out... Hey, if you like slim bean. You'll love Dirty Unicorn.. Give it a go. I would run it, but slim just flies on my phone. Sorry I couldn't be more help... And Im not sure if you uderstood what I meant by one-click. There is a one - click that you need to flash before the first time you go to JB from ICS... It partions you're phone correctly.

Isn't dirty unicorn AOSP? All AOSP roms have had this same problem for me
Can you link that one - click? I thought you ment the one click installers for like gb08 or w/o.. The only thing I've ever used that handled partitions is the 2x JB data eraser that Tough by S4 suggests

When I first went from ics to JB I used a one click install FULL WIPE (GB10 I think it was at the time) version ( which is what this post tells you to do) so yes I have done this step when I went from ICS to JB. Besides, I'm sure if I didn't do it correctly then any version of JB would not work on my phone and it does
Other then using a ics modem, Is there any special step ( not already mentioned ) to go back to AOSP from JB?

yep aosp only.. but I just had an idea.. What modem do you use with aosp. Im on fl24.. I don't know how it would matter, but thats all I got...lol. Sometimes these roms can be wonky, case in point. When I first flashed slim build 7 I couldn't get my hotspot to work. I jumped back to build 6 and was fine. After a couple days I gave 7 another try and now it works....Both times I did the exact samething to flash...gremlins...lol.

Do you have any tweaks flashed. I seen where nos tweaks(some of them)can mess with gps. Read through this post, looks like a promising fix.I dont no of any that work by experience because I always have had good luck with gps.The one to read is post 96. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853671&page=10

Hey guys. I have a problem and not sure how to go about this. My Evo was at 2.2 rooted for a long while and all of a sudden it started acting up. It would always freeze and had to be rebooted constantly. So I had a back that I went back to successfully but it is at 2.1 now (Baseband 2.15.00.09.01)
Now I'm not getting the OTA update to 2.2. I go into HTC software update and it says no available updates for my phone.
So how do I get to 2.2 or 2.3 rooted?
FYI after going into bootlaoder and choosing Recovery, I get Clockworkmod Recovery. Is this normal?
You need to flash the stock rooted ROM for the latest OTA update. I would suggest trying out some different Roms, though. That's the best part of rooting.
And ClockworkMod is the most popular recovery for the Evo, so yeah that's probably right.

It's pretty easy actually. Once you have root again (if you don't already), go to http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=supersonic and download either the newest nighly (30) or RC2 to your memory card.
Boot into Clockwork and go to backup and restore, and choose nandroid backup or backup (I'm not using clockwork, so I don't know the exact verbiage). Once the backup is complete, do a full system wipe by clicking on wipe data/factory reset.
Once that is done, choose install zip from sdcard, scroll down to cm_supersonic_full-30.zip and select it. It will install and then ask you to reboot. Go ahead and reboot.
Once your phone is up and running again, you'll want to get back into recovery so that you can flash GoogleApps, which you can find here: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/latest/7/universal/.
You'll flash these just like you did CyanogenMod 7 a minute ago, although you will want to wipe your cache and dalvik cache (which is located under "advanced" in the Clockwork menu) first.
All you have to do then is boot back up, go through the walkthrough to set up your google account, and then you'll be running (close to) stock Gingerbread 2.3.
If you need any help, feel free to ask.
Awesome!!! Thanks blackroseMD1!! I'll give it a try when I get home from work tonight. I'm not rooted right now. The last time I rooted I used unrevoked because it was so easy. Would that be good enough to get the process rolling?

Many recommend wiping data/factory reset (which I know was suggested and you've done), but also cache and dalvik BEFORE flashing any new ROM. Also, with CM, is it not suggested that you use Format_All?

Your best bet is to use YouMail, which is free in the market. It's a lot like Sprint's Visual VoiceMail that you have on Sense roms, but with more features. I use it, and I love it.
Hello!
Im wondering about JellyTime, Is it good or bad/very buggy?
Since im very intrested about it i want others opinion.
Also im new to this rooting and new ROM installs.
Thanks!
Well, it is a beta Rom, so it will have bugs. I use it as my main rom knowing it has some minor flaws. If you need a full running device you might want to read the thread a little before flashing this. Most of us flashing this are "Flashaholics" and don't mind flashing a new version everyday if needed. I'd say flash it to see what it's like, and then make your own decision. Only you will know if you like it. This goes for any Rom.

Ohhh okay ^^ is it possible to install the rom at the sametime as i root? sorreh im newb at this :3:highfive:
After you root, make a backup of your rom. Before flashing (download rom to sd card-remember where it was stored), reboot in recovery.
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe dalvik.
Format all partitions (except sd card).
Install from sd card.
Flash rom (search for the download)
Reboot.
The above is sorta the correct way of doing it afterwards. Most of us don't do it.
Wait 5-10 minutes.
Reboot.
Configure all you need to configure.
Install your apps.
Reboot.
If you want to know the issues of a rom, read the op(first page) and read the last 5-10 pages.
All ics - jb roms have bugs. Won't be long till they are fixed.
Gb roms are stable on the most part.
Search for 4ext touch recovery, it's the prefered one.

Alright buddy, last one. After this you nees to start reading and searching for your own answers. Almost anything you can think of has already been posted.
It's called gapps. It's a zip file with several google apps. Flash the same as when you flash a rom. No wipe necessary.

I did see a question asking about "best roms" am after an easy stable and fully working combination tho, would love jellybean and fully understand its still in beta. I think more noobs would attempt stuff if it wasnt so damn confusing with regards options and bolt ons.
Ive been Useing JellyTime since yesterday and i love it, the only complaint i have at this moment is that when i lock the screen and unlock it after more than 5 min it takes up to 5-10 seconds for it to start. Maby fixed in new Beta 10. ill try install it later today or tomorrow.

The Desire HD/Inspire 4G are virtually un-brickable as long as you are not ENG-OFF. Once you start flashing roms it all will become like second nature. Everything will start to get easier(more confidence comes too ) Just keep doing what you are doing (reading the threads). I wish some people did this more before posting.

This ROM is outstanding. I started with Beta 8 and it was great–at least for the first few days before Beta 9 came out. And now that Beta 10 is out, I'm going to flash that ASAP.
Then great thing about this ROM is that Randomblame just can't seem to give himself any downtime, although he does find time to spend with his family. As long as the ROM works and he isn't going crazy from it, that's alright with me.

Are you using Task's AOKP? The last few builds work without the ''revert my alsa'' zip (and you shouldn't flash it as it will break other things).
Did you make a clean flash? If you didn't, then do so.
Also, did you restore any system apps? If so, once again, clean flash and don't restore them.
Don't know what you did, but I use Task's AOKP and bluetooth works great. Just do a clean install.
Ok so my gs3 is having a few issues with the new 4.3 custom roms coming out nowadays...
Basicly after flashing (for instance) Slim bean 4.3 stable build 1, or the new 4.3 Liquid Smooth 2.10 the problems start.
But not right away see on the inital install and system reboot the phone boots PERFECTLY, its when i turn off my phone or it dies.
Thats when the phone starts to hang, either on the samasung logo for Liquid Sooth, or it'll hang on SLIM for the Slim bean rom
I am not new to Flashing there just something im over looking and i hope somone has the answer
thanks in advance

Basicly after flashing (for instance) Slim bean 4.3 stable build 1, or the new 4.3 Liquid Smooth 2.10 the problems start.
But not right away see on the inital install and system reboot the phone boots PERFECTLY, its when i turn off my phone or it dies.
Thats when the phone starts to hang, either on the samasung logo for Liquid Sooth, or it'll hang on SLIM for the Slim bean rom
I am not new to Flashing there just something im over looking and i hope somone has the answer
thanks in advance

The usuall method, i never dirty flash NEVER
full wipe
factory reset
fix permissions
install rom install gapps
Why do you fix permissions after you wipe and before you flash? There are no permissions to fix at that point.

Calm down man, I was just asking. I've never seen anyone else do that step before so I thought maybe your issues stems from there.

Maybe it's the incorrect gapps.

Could be some kind of hardware failure as well. Have you flashed a stock rom to see if it still does it?

Strange though, I've been running Illusion since it came out as 4.3 without any problems or reboots at all.

That is strange, makes me wonder if it is hardware related.

No wifi
I love love love this ROM, it's incredibly fast, I've got the debloated version. But I have no wifi on it. The wifi stays off and when I try to turn it on it flips right back to off again. Any suggestions? I wiped, cache, dalvik, everything before and after and reinstalled once. Will reinstall again.
I'm using TWRP vs CWM-would that make a difference?

Glad you like the rom, thanks for the feedback!
Not sure about the wifi, haven't had any trouble on mine. N5110, right?
I have Philz on mine but don't see why TWRP wouldn't be fine... What rom were you on before?

I had tried several, but wipe completely each time. It might've been one of the Lollipops right before. I wondered if it had anything to do with the kernal? I don't know much about that aspect of it.

Yes kernel controls hardware related things including wifi if I'm not mistaken. Which kernel are you using? The stock kernel included with the rom or a custom kernel?

I didn't ever specifically change kernels (if that's possible). I just installed 4 or 5 different ROMs over the course of the past few wks to see which I liked. I made back ups of my original stock/rooted ROM and several that I liked. I've got SlimKat ROM on here now, would it do any good for me to go into settings and see which kernel it is? Probably not, I suspect.

Ok no that's cool. Yes it's possible to change kernels, but since you didn't flash a different one that means you had the stock kernel (which is included with the rom and works fine). Just to be sure, you have the N5110 model, right?

Ok cool thanks. Really not sure what the wifi issue on your setup might be. Works fine here and for other users as far as I see. I did a quick Google searche and the top solutions seem to be a factory reset, the "wifi fixer" app in the Play Store, or possibly trying different settings/channels/reboot on your router. If nothing works, then it might be because something got corrupted in the base over time by flashing different TW/AOSP ROMs, in which case it might be worthwhile to Odin stock firmware from sammobile and then install this rom and test. Might be more hassle for you than it's worth (especially if your other ROMs already work fine), but just trying to provide options lol. You could also try Regular instead of Debloated to see if there is any difference in wifi for you there.

I appreciate your input very much! I love this rom. I've got it installed again messing around with it while the Regular version is downloading. (I'm bestowed with slow rural internet). I'll let you know if Regular works better. It's probably going to bug me enough as to why it doesn't work that I'll go to the trouble of going back to stock, re-downloading and trying it fresh

Sounds good! Yeah it's a bit of a hassle but at least you have other roms to fall back on worst case, but i'll admit this is kinda bugging me too so if you get to the bottom of it please let me know . [emoji106] . Thanks again for the positive feedback btw, happy to hear the rom's working out (aside from your wifi)

Enable Android Encryption
Has anyone been able to successfully enable android encryption using this rom? I tried with the Deodexed version, safe boot, turning off SuperSU and haven't been able to get it to start encrypting properly. I need it since I have policy looking for encrypted state before I can allow mail to be made available.
Many thanks in advance!

Not sure... does it work fine on other rooted deodexed roms?
wifi won't turn on
Hi, I've flashed both the regular version and the debloated version on my N5110 after clean wipes.
The wifi will not turn on in either case.
I've done factory resets from within settings.
Any ideas?
I've read the thread, the Q&A thread, and done a google search to no avail....
I'm coming from stock 4.2.2 (rooted and unlocked of course) where everything worked... it just seemed to have a pretty short battery life.
I've reinstalled the nandroid backup and wifi still works there.
I'd really like to try this.
Thanks for your hard work as a developer by the way

Not sure...Works fine here but I saw another user report this a while back. The others said all working fine so I'm assuming something may have got corrupted on your setup along the way. Perhaps you can try using odin to flash the latest stock firmware for your device from sammobile.com, then try installing twrp through odin and finally my rom through twrp. Best way to eliminate variables and start fresh

Worked for me. Nice smooth Rom... thank you I hope this saves me from constant looping unrooted stock provided. Although battery life seems to still drain quickly. Any thoughts?
Edit to say im having a slight issue with the tablet shutting down on its own when not in use.

Thanks for confirming! Yes flashing different roms can corrupt system files so a fresh odin install is always a good way to start clean. No issues here with the tablet shutting down..could possibly be due to a rogue app conflicting with something or an xposed module. As for battery life I agree. Not worse than stock but not better either. The built-in battery is now also probably less efficient than it used to be, as they all do over time. Sammy should have put a bigger battery in this tablet!

I did a battery pull and that help a great deal with the battery life . Also I don't think I have had the issue of shutting down maybe the rom needed to settle in lol. I don't know but all is well now thank you so much for this rom. My tablet isn't trash anymore.

Hello sefrcoko
my Note N5110 currently has the stock fw 4.2.2.
Once I have root and custom recovery, can I directly flash your rom?
Or I have to flash the stock fw 4.4.2 before your rom?
Thanks a lot
Bye
