PLease please please tell me where to get stock ODIN file! The http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258628 files in this thread take forever to download. I have gotten them three times and I can never extract the .TAR

You don't extract the .tar, that's the format it needs to stay in. Put it in the PDA slot in ODIN, and make sure only Auto-Reboot and Reset Time are checked, and hit start. Once it reboots, it will go into recovery for a second and finish the process then reboot again. Once that part is finished it will most likely be stuck booting. Pull the battery, put it back in, go into the stock recovery and Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, and reboot.

Odin doesnt recognize it though. Thats why I thought I had to extract.

I check your link. I see. The first 2 downloads are in zip format and the last 2 are in 7z format
Use 7-zip to extract those. Google 7-zip and it will be the first result.

The links almost always come from sammobile.com, so it will always be the slow mirrors you see unless someone else puts up another mirror.

Here's the Samsung Stock Firmware tar file:

I was a little confused myself due to the poor wording and grammar, so I just suggested go back to stock.

Yes yes grammar and wording was poor. Late in the night for me+panic+I'm kinda uneducated ('Merica). That being said, it wasn't the kernel, It was the revert.zip from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320384&highlight=revert I put something Verizon back into my TMO phone because I wasn't thinking. I'm guessing it was the framework2 Anyway, I did the ODIN cure and now everything is perfect, it even lists everything as "Official" Captain Krunch, thank you an extreme amount!!!!

NP man... FYI, when you ODIN to stock, and root with casual, the Official status stays, and you don't have to mess with the guide to permanently remove the custom screen.

Phone is a paperweight!! In need of serious help!!

Ok so I went to go flash a new ROM called Liquid Smooth, doesnt work at all. Which is fine, figured I would just go back to Codename or FreeGS3 since i made a nandroid of both. Attempt to boot into recovery n the phone will not, so that sucks. So I then try to go through Odin and put the stock ROM tar file on my phone n just re-root the phone again from scratch. Put the stock ROM on the phone, Odin says it passed, it reboots and is stuck on the Samsung loading screen. Tried multiple times through Odin and the samething continues to happen. My phone is now a paperweight and useless. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How long did you wait for the phone to boot at Samsung screen ? if not long just wait some more !!
I almost dont want to assist based on the title of your thread. your phone is not a paperweight. You need to wipe data so the rom will boot. Flash the custom recovery below in odin and boot into it after the odin flash. As soon as that screen goes dark immediatly press volume up+home+pwr. youll get in

Yea do this but before flashing the recovery in ODIN un-check the Auto Reboot option so you can pull the battery after the recovery passes. If the last thing you flashed was the stock Odin file you now should have stock recovery

I let it sit there for 35 minutes waiting for it to boot, still no go.
My custom binary count is at 10, idk if that has anything to do with it not being able to boot into recovery.

Your bootloop is an easy fix if you have not started odin flashing yet.
Just reboot into recovery and select "Factory Reset" then reboot the phone
and most of the time this fixes the problem, I should say at least 8 out 10
booloops can be fixed with a "Factory Reset" then reboot.
Good luck!

May have a brick

I have an att Note 2 and had recently installed the 4.3 bootloader and tried a couple of the new roms. They were to buggy so I did a full wipe including a data format and restored a Jedi backup. That was this morning. Just a few minutes ago I was attempting to boot into recovery and the phone won't progress past the Samsung logo. Any ideas or suggestions? THanks

If you can get into download mode, you are not bricked.
Go here;
http://samsung-updates.com/latest-firmware/
Select your device. You can find exact model by removing the back. Model number is on a sticker behind the battery.
Download your firmware. Get into download mode. Load Odin. Tick PDA. Navigate to your firmware. Hit Start.
If it fails try downloading the file again as errors during file transfer are actually very common. Then flash in Odin once again.
Also, I want to add, Odin starts "Not Responding" almost immediately after beginning to flash. Don't panic, this is also very common. In fact it's never NOT happened to me when flashing stock firmware for my Note 2 and S3. Just let it do it's thing and a few seconds later it will recover from this and commence the flash.
I actually have an unbrick video on my Youtube channel for the S3. I need to do one for the Note 2 soon.
Oh, and one more thing, sometimes if you are having difficulty with a bootloop and you can't get into recovery or download, pull the battery and do the steps and then try again. I find many times I have to start from a completely powered off device.
Good luck and keep us posted. =-}

if so you might just need to restore full or partial/meaning boot and or data
crash your tab / hold home vol-up power till reboot and sam-logo keep home and power pressed till
recovery comes up , select restore, rom, then check what you need swipe

yeah if you didn't back up first the your boned so odin it is
the process is pretty similar to when you flashed twrp
hold home,vol-down and power to get download/odin mode
fire up odin connect tab wait for it to pickup look in small field [com 1,2,3,etc.]
check pda load your stock image [*.tar.md5]
MAKE SURE REPARTITION IS UNCHECKED
auto reboot checked and reset time should already be checked by default
click start/go and let it do it's thing
make sure it's right image
do not flash a pit file.

1 on a new flash the tab will take a while on first boot
philz touch is good, but what ROM did you flash?
2 if you have an microsd card reader for your pc take the card out of your tab and put into card reader
download svelte rom 4.1 from tab 3 7.0 section . the box your tab came with as well as lokking on the back
of your tab will tell you the model if you only see the wifi logo it's sm-t210r, svelte rom 4.1 is for t210r
so once you download the right rom put it on your microsd card, put the card bak in tab
boot to philz recovery select install from sdcard1/extsdcard etc.
there's a way around things most of the time
be patient keep cool, pay attention to what you do and read and you'll get it

[Q] Boot into Recovery Mode through Odin

Hi there,
Is there a way to boot into Recovery Mode from Odin.
I install a Stock Rom to my phone from Odin, and now its stuck in the Samsung Logo. I read that I should go to Recovery, Wipe all and will be ready, but the Volume Up button does not work in my phone.
I am able to enter to Download Mode with a JIG (as the Volume up doesn't work, I cant advanced when before Download Mode says, Push Volume Up to continue), I have tried like 4 different roms, all of them pass but the phone doesn't pass the Samsung logo. I waited like 20 minutes and nothing .
I think the only way right now is to somehow boot into Recovery Mode from Odin, do the Wipe and recover my phone. I flashed the I747MVLUFNE6.
Is there a way/guide to do this?
Thanks!
Theres no need. You'd only need to boot recovery to factory reset. But im pretty sure mobile odin has that option built in. Just choose Wipe Data and Cache.

You'll either have to flash stock that matches your current bootloaders/baseband or try adb to push recovery mode and factory reset.

Lol! Oops! Sorry bout that! Perhaps sleep isnt so overrated after all!!!
If you can find a way to flash an insecure kernel from Odin, you can probably use adb reboot recovery. The trick is probably finding an Odin flashable insecure kernel! (If you cant, let me know and ill try to make one for you.)
The PIT file should work too though. It'll format the data partition (like a factory reset) which is probably what you need to do.
If you have any very important data on your internal sdcard, I'd try the adb method first. If youve got everything backed up already, or dont care about losing that data, use the PIT file with Odin.

I did a backup of important files just before the update, so I don't care to lose any data.
I'll try with the PIT file, however I couldn't find any for KK. Can I flash an old PIT file or needs to be for the specific stock rom?
The PIT file just needs to be for your model device with the correct storage capacity. (16/32gb).
Its the same across firmware builds, so long as it hasn't been changed, which it has not.
