[Q] Facebook app not working properly @ Gio

Hi,,
This problem is related to my gf's Gio, and she's driving me crazy to solve this
Well, a few days ago I flashed a CM ROM on her Gio, everything ok, Gio is great and so on, but her facebook app stopped updating the feed and she can't comment or send messages to anyone, she can only put "Likes" on the first feed page.
I thought it could be a problem related to the rom, flashed the adrenaline ROM and the problem remains, I unistaled, cleared data and unistaled, nothing happens.
Can anyone give me an idea?

Uninstall the facebook application. Reinstall, try if it works.

If that was the case, my apologies to him. No disrispect was intended.
Anyway, on my first post I mentioned that I already did that: "I unistaled, cleared data and unistaled, nothing happens."

use an alternative facebook app, the normal one is slow, buggy.

+1 - Facebook apps sucks big time. Look at the comments on market, most of them are negative. I'm using FriendCaster, it's pretty fast...

Well, I tried the older version of facebook app and it is working.

It's lighter than the newer version, and it is working properly

None of them works for me in cyanogen Rom.
But all of them work fine in stock.

Damn, the problem returned even on the older facebook app. Suddenly its impossible to coment and doesnt update...

Sometime i faced same issue...
But now i always used Friendcaster Pro.

Is there any facebook app with chat? (without the official) I know that there's a facebook chat app, but she would have to use 2 apps intead of one.

I'm using CM9 Beta 8 and I do receive FB updates and feeds, but when I click on a post, the post is blank.

Got the same. Something shows only when you want update notifications . I'm not able to use it anymore -,-

[Q] New Facebook Update

Has anyone else downloaded the new Facebook update? I did and now I have additional icons (camera and messanger) that I can't get rid of. Also it keeps running in the background even after I stop it from running. Any ideas how to stop it from running in background and how to remove extra application icons? Thanks

Just uninstall the newest update. Idk how else to get rid of it but it doesn't bother me at all.

I don't like the new update because install unnecessary thing that I don't need nor use.
My suggestion is that you use the mobile browser version or use Fast Facebook (Beta)
The only bad thing about that is that it doesn't syn your contact pictures by default but you can use another app for that

Maybe I will try that thanks. I uninstalled and restored a backup I made on Thursday. Worked perfectly.

Try fast Facebook app and use haxsync app for high quality contact picture sync.

try facebook contact sync app from market..works for me..better quality on contact pictures.

I use Friendcaster....got fed up with the official after latest update.

Haxsync is ICS only

First of all its not installing anything new, just providing links to existing features.

It's not too bad but if this is going to be a trend for new apps, they should just make them separately and/or offer the option before installation if the user wants the said additional features or not.

It did that even with me on the previous update its running in background because u probably set notifications on so its steady running or u may have the widget up that runs too this update is better then it was thats all i know

realtimechat and battery

BetterBatteryStats reports that my GNex has spent about 2.5 hours in the past 6 hours in realtimechat (com.google.android.apps.plus.Google+).
I don't use Google+ and don't believe I'm doing any real time chatting. Apparently I can't uninstall google+. I'm on stock, unrooted.
Why is the phone spending so much time in realtimechat and how do I stop this battery draining behavior?

Yes, I am experiencing the same. Does anyone have an idea?

I suspect this is caused by the hangouts option. Try disabling it in G+ settings.
PS: you can uinstall G+ if you have root. Or freeze it using an app like Titanium Backup.

You can disabling Google+ in Settings > Apps without root

You'd think so. All I have there is an 'uninstall upates' for G+ however. Disable button is avaiable for other system apps though.

Never installed g+ app before, and you know what .. you're right! WTF, unbelieveable! Sorry about that
I think rooting is the only way to get full control of your phone

I like G+, so I don't want to delete it. Is there another option to deactivate the chat?

You can only "disable" the preinstalled or /system/app versions of an app. If you update a system app you have to uninstall the updates and you'll be able to deactivate them afterwards.

I Downloaded and installed the app on my one x - 5 Minutes after the install the Facebook App updates himself with googleplaystore and i have Version 3.9 back.

Don't apply update from Playstore. This version is testing only and if you update from Google Play it will back to 3.9 because this version not public on Play

Unfortunately, the UI appears to be toggled server-side, where Facebook has control over who gets access. I am unable to see it even after installing the 4.0 APK. Chances are, you might not be able to see it either. But if luck is on your side, feel free to share your results in the comments below.

[Q] updating app from play store but can't see new things

Just asking ...
Does someone know why I can't see new things after I update an app? For example I updated Facebook messenger and now I have latest version same what my brother use on another m8 phone but I don't see these updated things what came with new messenger like these little bubble when u see ppl is reading ur text... Also was same thing with Facebook app ...I have installed latest version but when I opened app I saw older Facebook app... At least now I have latest Facebook app but not messenger ... If u guys understand what I'm talking about and can tell me what to do I'm very thankful...

Actually, I have experienced this strange behaviour before. Unfortunately, I don't know the cause. The solution for me was to remove the app and re-install it.

I tried that but no luck... Also wiped cache and so on ... Before I had same thing with Facebook app but then I did nandroid backup and restored it and then I got new Facebook app but not messenger.... Do u know how big is ur phone cache partition? Mine is over 300 mb... Checked m7 cache partition and there is over 600 mb
