Hey everyone! I've LONG hated the horrible brown colors that Samsung chose for the Snote app, QuickNote (popup note), and Calendar app. They clash miserably with everything and are really just unattractive to use, IMHO. To that end, I decided to dive into theming these mutha's! I've put mucho hours into trial and error and working the kinks out and am pretty much happy with them as they are now. That being said, I very well may still tinker with them or certainly try to fix anything that I may have missed...hence v1.0 :silly:
I've opted for a pretty basic greyscale base and threw just dabs of color in here and there, but nothing overdone, still 90+% greyscale. For what its worth, VRtheme technique is used with these so you must have the apk's already installed, as it will not install them for you.
Special Thanks:
Alexia- General theming instruction and for teaching me VRtheme technique.
Dwitherell- General theming advice and kick-ass ROM.

PLEASE NOTE: I am a T-Mobile SGN2 user, NOT a Sprint SGN2 user...so I can NOT verify with any certainty that these work on your device, but see no immediate reason why they would not. The VRTheme script will make backups of any modified APK's in a folder on the root of your sdcard, so, should things not work, you can simply push/copy them back to your system/app directory and be good to go again.
Let me know if these work out for you guys!
Thank you sir!

No dice.. I flashed it on hawks.. and the spen app just fcs..
Im going to try it out on some different roms tomorrow. Im constantly flashing different builds..
Thanks so much for this! Looks great. I did not try flashing the zip in the OP as z31k said there were problems on some roms. So I just took your resources and added them to the sprint APKs manually. All 4 work great. Here is a link to the apks, not a flashable zip. But if this isn't working for anyone else you can grab my zip, push the apks to /system/app and chmod 644.

I am using this on Doc's rom JS3. I have made a CWM flashable zip but I am not too sure if it will work. So, I recommend using the method in post 2.
Want her on your stock theme?
Or make a backup and then push twframework-res.apk to /system/framework/
and reboot

You still using v1? Lol
Sent from that Green Robot Device with a 4"screen, chewing on some froyo(with an extra .1)
I was happy with V1, using it with transparent notification. Think V1 was better than GenerationX at that time for me. Maybe Gen X has improved since then.
Meanwhile those who have tried this on other roms/themes can share the info if it works or not.
This one is for JS3 stock theme. Enjoy!
Push touchwizframework-res.apk to /system/framework
Nice notifications, thanks
Thank you! I'm rocking this little mod with Darky's 9.2 ROM and it looks awesome.
thanks for sharing that info that it works on Darky's for others to use.
I was so happy when i saw this but i cant instali it Im on Darky 9.2
It goes
Finding update package....
Opening update package....
E: Cant open/mnt/sdcard/ExcuseMe! Notification Panel.zip (bad)
Instalation aborted
Recommendation, Push touchwizframework-res.apk to /system/framework and reboot.
You can use root explorer or adb for that.
Click on image to download respective file. Stock and VA Mix V1
Its working, thank you but what now, I had her as my wallpaper for so long. I cant have her on my notification bar and desktop. Is there any other pictures of this girl, whats her name, loooool
I don't know. If you have any other photo/image, we can make a new one to make our sgs cool. I am also bored of this one hehe.
im confused, would this work for any android device or just the i9000? this thread was featured in the home page of xda, would love this for a Dell streak, also i couldnt help but noticed that the brightness feature is missing, it would be awesome if that could be added
Is this working on Spica i5700 too?
I am delighted and proud of this as this has now been featured on XDA.
For those running other devices ( Dell Streak or Spica i5700) if you have twframework-res.apk in the directory /system/framework/ upload it here and I will take a look at it. I only have an SGS so I can only test it for SGS.

I thought the regular softkeys were too bland, so I made a set myself. I thought I'd share it. The problem with this, is that I dunno how to make a zipthemer file...

What does the X do?
If you like I can make a .zip that can be flashed in the recovery for you.
The X is the nexus symbol which I use as the home button and yeah could you make it then send it to me so i can upload it here? You can have the credit for that..

I'm almost complete on the .zip they can flash through CWM
I've created a zip to flash through CWM. I take no credit for the images; all I've done is create a flashable file and create same icons for landscape.

Don't give up . but yeah I realize this is actually a perfect zip for someone who wants to make their own theme, just extract apks and swap out the ones you mod within that same zip, rename it. and bam.
Ok so I'm need of some help. I love the purple theme but IMO, I think the other themes from his previous ROMS are better...so how would I go about extracting those themes and using it on New Beginning? Is it possible or would it bream anything? Thanks
Oh and P.S. Keep up the hard work man! I tried your orange theme and it was sweet - real talk

I've been trying to figure out how to get ND8 to cooperate (I haven't had any luck with VRTheme yet) and have come up with something that looks nice. I've been using pngs from Dandroid, WS, TPR and Project X with permission from the devs. This is still a WIP so there are a few icons out of place and what not but it's coming together. (Except for the stupid battery LOL)
Oh, and in addition to the changed pngs I've also removed the "%" symbol from the status bar battery so instead of showing like "78%" it just shows "78".
The apks included are SecEmail_J, SecContacts_OSup.apk, SecLauncher2, SecMms, SecPhone, SystemUI, framework-res and twframework-res.
Flash in recovery.
Down load here.
Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk!
*It is important to note that there may be additional issues I don't know about and as I am a truck driver, not a programmer I may or may not be able to fix things.
Everyone is encouraged to do what ever you like with anything I post, but a little credit would be appreciated.

Ok I've downloaded it and loading now
I love it. It looks great so far everything is in order
@Chad The Pathfinder nice work man. Looks good .
HERE is a VRTheme that's just Wicked Sensations framework-res and SystemUI if anyone wants to try it.
HERE you can DL a flashable that includes the Wicked Sensations themed framework-res and SecSettings apks.
Edit: when I started this project I was going to do Dandroid first but I'm having a lot of fun with Dazed's work so my intention now is to get a complete VRTheme for WS next.
Looking sweet.

you can install without root, someone said that you can install the theme, apply it, and then disable the theme store from application manager, worked for him.

Hey guys,
here's a theme I made, samsung refused to put it on the theme store because it isn't flashy.
I find it very minimal and dope.

How to install:
1) You should be rooted.
2) Install the theme, wait for it to show in the themes. DO NOT APPLY.
3) Use any Root file manager and go to /data/overlays/jsonfiles/trialjson
4) you should see a file called "siddheshpatil.octane.json"
5) cut that file i.e move that file from trialjson to userjson in jsonfiles.
6) Reboot your device.
7) apply the theme.
P.S. you can use this method to apply any trial theme permanently.
If you like it feel free to hit the thanks button.
