Hi all.
I installed the newest Marvellous CM10 and as far almost everything is very nice.
One issue i have is the delay of locking screen - when i push power, then screen goes black (but not turned off) for c.a. 1 sec and turns off then. When i want to unlock device button does not respond for c.a. 5 sec after locking.
So if I lock the screen, put phone in pocket and after couple of minutes take it out and unlock there is nothing wrong, but it annoys me that i cannot lock and unlock immediately after locking. Somebody noticed that too or is it just me?
Of course i tried to reinstall ROM but nothing changed.
I have it to, but why no cm10.1?

It's not really an issue. That happening because phone is in deep sleep when screen off and when you turn it on it lags a bit because cpu is at lowest freq.

So I have to live with this. Thanks for reply.
But the lockscreen on cm10.1 lags more or is it just me?

depend the rom you use becuase i use the jdevs roms and i dont have that lag in the lockscreen

i have android revolution 6.1.2 , radio 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M on my DHD ,,
everything is working fine but there seems to be a weird problem with the lock screen,,,
i use 'lock screen widget' to turn screen off, once screen is off, it turns back 'on' by itself after 10, 15 seconds , the lock is there, but the screen lights up for no reason ??
this cycle gets repeated after 20,30 seconds and is a nuisance since it causes a hi battery drain
any helP!!

I would get ahold of the widget developer as it is a app problem. Why not use the hardware button instead?
i tried that, removed the lock widget and used pwr button, but problem continues

Ok something is turning your screen back on. I would look at your apps to see what is running. Normally this is due to some app miss behaving like apps found on 4shared or other sites like that other then the market where adware and things can be added to it.
I think its bcz of d 3g connection (if u have)..
My phone wakes suddenly n shows "refreshing sim data" whenever m on 3g..

hmm,,
thats a valid point,
im not sure about the 3g/2g setting, but to check just for the sake of it, i have turned 3g off and checking,, so far the screen has not misbehaved

i removed all the non-market apps but the problem persists,. i remember that the problem started after i updated radio,,,
will going to the previous radio ( downgrading ) solve the problem ?
maybe the new radio messes with the 3g setting as shreyasab said above ?
Hi. I have been using RCMIX Runny 4.0 and one morning when I woke up the phone had rebooted itself and was stuck at RCMix bootscreen. I wasnt able to boot the phone after that so I flashed another ROM. I have used SuperWipe before every rom flash. The problem I have been having with many roms including RCMIX Rynnu 4.0 is that when the phone goes to sleep mode and I push power button to start the hardware buttons at the bottom light up but the phone is dead.
The only current ROM that works without the sleepmode death is Android Revolution 6.1.5.
Any one have a clue what the problem could be?

I'd think you're cpu sleep max frequency is too low. Try putting it a bit higher.

Do u use any Lock Screen app ? like 'WidgetLocker' or 'Lockbot' it makes the the replacement for your sense lock screen. These lock screen app cannot wake up phone !

No lock screen app. Just fresh flashed rom.
Still having the same problem.
I do completly wipe of everything and flash new rom.
But as soon as phone goes into sleep mode it won´t wake up. Only hardware buttons lite up but screen is dead.

I'm a new member here. This is also my first android phone I ever had. I've searched if someone already has similar problem, but I didn't find any thread with the explanation so I decided to make a new thread.
Here is the situation:
I have Wildfire S, system is updated to android 2.3.5 ; software number 2.26.169.1
My problem is unlocking. Sometimes, when I press unlocking (power) button at the top of the phone light doesn't appear on the screen (only sensor buttons are lighten at that moment). After that I put my finger where ring lock should be shown and slide my finger up, and the phone unlocks... After pressing the power button at the top of the phone I should be able to see my screen (it should turn on), but that doesn't happen every time. I tried with restarting the phone. After restarting it works fine, but the same thing happens again lately.
Phone came with android 2.3.3. To solve the problem, I tried factory reset after the upload to 2.3.5 (thought it is going to return system to 2.3.3) but software version stayed on 2.3.5
If anyone knows how this could be solved, please tell me.

Are you running a custom rom, if you are, then i suggest you set your min frequency at about 200mhz. If you are using stock, unrooted, i suggest you take it to the HTC service center to get it fixed or better still, root it and enjoy the limitless possibilities of android! :good:

Thanks for the replay. It is stock ROM. As I said I recently started using android. I'm not familiar with all of that possibilities it has. I'll consider what to do. Anyway thanks a lot!
In addition to your above mentioned problem I also had problems with the unlock screen. Sometimes it doesn't unlock easily and I hav to pull the ring 4 or five times to unlock it

Ya my phone is rooted and I'm running cm9 alpha 6. But still I hav those unlocking problems.

I got my Arc S last weekend, but I had many times of sleep to death on custom roms... (didn't happen on stock 2.3.4)
Sometimes after screen is off, I can't wake phone up again. Only a battery pull can help
Arc S had unlocked bootloader, I tried smart Xperia, aokp, viper, racing bean, but all having sleep to death problem on it.
I'm now using racing bean Rom and fusion kernel(184m-1.4ghz), it does have less sleep to death problem, but still no luck.
Any help for this phone?
Strange..... Even I use the same settings.... Y don't you try setting min frequency to 224.... N bdw what governor are you using?

My phone got stuck fairly often when it was new, after a month or whatnot. It started working alot faster and stopped freezing.
Since you got it only last weekend, it's probably why.
I just relock bootloader, and back to stock 4.1.a.0.562 via flashtool, but phone is getting crazy.
Every time screen off, phone can't be turned on.
I may try Sony pc companion later...
Try a factory reset or seus, mine was like this when I bought it too

Tried SEUS to latest official ICS , but still can't solve.
Maybe a hardware issue somewhere?

Have you tried different stock firmware? If yes I think its better to send it to SE.

I am having almost the same problem with yours
I've got my arc s for over 6 months now, it's been working fine, i'm on rom Ultimate HD
last week i was running the app Talking Monkey then it happened, it went to sleep and died
the big problem is pull out the battery won't help, the screen choose to wake up randomly at its will, i have no control over it
go back to stock rom won't help either
i realize my phone is working fine except the screen, when i press the home button the led and illumination is activated but not the screen, so my phone is on i can see nothing
i use QtADB to connect to my phone and got the screen shot of the phone but ofcourse i can't see a thing cause the screen won't turn on
i not sure if its a hardware, i hope it's not
try to read the logcat but understand nothing

I have the same problem, did you solved your SoD.

I think the problem is in bootloader, but i can't confirm this because my device have locked bootloader (Unlock allow bootloader: No).

Yesterday, after I woke up I noticed my phone has turned off, I turned it on again with no problem, minutes later I tried to check something on it but the screen doesn't turned on, the backlight from the keyboard and the 4 button under the screen still works, I can press any button and it sounds like phone still works, even with the camera button I hear the shutter like the phone take the photo, the system is on while the screen is still off. The only way to see the screen now, is removing the battery and leave the screen on all the time, I notice then that the brightness adjust doesn't work and it got stuck in the last one used (about 40%).
I was at the moment with CM9. I tried with stock rom using Odin, also again with CM9, and CM10.2. Changed kernel in the last two but the problem is still there.
UPDATE: I just tried CM7 and brightness control works, but still has the problem.
Do you have any ideas for this? Thanks in advance.
