Tasker (the app) and battery usage - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

So does the app, Tasker, take up a lot of battery? I have it and I only have one profile running and that's to turn on rotation for certain apps

I use Tasker and don't notice any excess battery drain.

Sounds like you have a rouge app. Download system monitor and see what one it is! Then uninstall it or change the sync settings!

Battery ideas?

So I'm running a 2100 m a h extended life battery and I know I should be getting better life than this. I'm running 4.1 jelly bean on cdma phone, stock kernel. I also have the app killer checked on, and my screen brightness is pretty low. I've been having my wifi at home but still for 4 hours in 40 percent screen time that's really bad numbers. just wondering if anybody has any input

Uninstall your task killer, those do more harm than good. And download BetterBatteryStats to see what is draining your battery.
More likely it's your apps that are causing it to drain very badly. Any shady looking apps I would uninstall. And like above me, do those both as well.

What setting is this? And don't use it.
You may want to use the Better Battery stats application to check for wake locks.
Trying a different kernel may also help. The Faux kernel works well for myself.
Lastly, the standby time doesn't give as much insight into your battery life as well as screen on time does. What kind of screen on time are you getting?
Note: don't use task killers, and don't manually kill applications.

Wow your right. First for some reason I couldn't even click back on x d a developers app kept force closing and after I check that I can finally go back didn't think that would effect so much

Turn off any app killing, as you've done.
In your screenshot, you had a lot of calls, that'll do it too, so battery life can vary.
Here is today's. I don't get it. 2100 math battery low brightness display

Why is task killing worse than good?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I am not sure about the stock app killer but any 3rd party app killer is constantly scanning your phone looking for apps running even if there is none so it's constantly using battery power

Battery Stats Android System

When I look at my battery Stats and it shows "Android System" what exactly does that mean? I am on CM10 running King Kang Kernel OC. Auto brightness. Just looking for an interpretation.

When I click on it it shows a generic list of things I hardly use...

Those are apps that usually run in the background. Do you use settings a lot? They are included in the "Android System" part of the battery stats.

Oh. Android System consists of a lot of stuff that usually runs in the background so try using GSAM to see what's taking your battery life.

AudioOut wakelock question

Hi I have note 2 which is fantastic and I am very pleased with it. So far I was getting perfect battery life but lately it doesn't last that long so I installed BBS and this audioOut wakelock is preventing my phone from sleeping. Is there a chance to find which program is keeping this wakelock? I searched the web and there is Nino help. It is almost always on silent and I am not using it to listen to the music. Thanks

I've seen all kinds of "fixes" here - e.g. switch ringtones and reboot, turn off all system sounds, use Task Manager to turn off everything and many more.
Not one has worked for me on any ROM with any kernel, which makes me suspect that it's a rogue app. It never takes me a long time to realise that I cannot be bothered trying to track down the responsible app, so I live with it. YMMV. Viber has been mentioned frequently (never had it myself).
Sounds very similar to the Media drain problem. Similar alleged reasons, similar useless solutions, even poor Viber is also wrongfully scapegoated. What kills me is once the problem start it remains no matter what the heck you do, even if you wipe, root, change roms, format, remove/change sd card, etc... Nothing short of a hammer will solve the ****ing problem.
Download advanced task killer and set it to kill all apps at screen off. Also configure greenify to greenify all apps.

Ffs I am saying since so long. You just need to configure advanced task killer and greenify. But no. We want some other kinda solution.

Root using CF-AutoRoot so you still have stock ROM. Then, after you have SuperSU installed and working you start using root tool apps that let you freeze apps you don't use and let you disable wakelocks on the apps you want to keep. Examples: Greenify, System Tuner, Titanium Backup and there are probably many others too that you can try. You may find that google apps are using up a large portion of your battery charge. My S4 battery performance was really poor before, now it is good.
