Just moved to Koodo prepaid from Rogers and everything works fine except tethering. Tethering worked fine with Rogers and my Koodo APN setting is correct according to Koodo tech support (not offering any additional help because my phone is non-Koodo phone). I have an unlocked SGH - I317M, not rooted. Other devices get connected to my phone, but no data is flowing.
Searched the net and a few reporting the same problem without any clear solution. Does anyone know how to resolve this? It appears to be an issue with the APN setting. The attached is how I have it.

I have the same phone and on Koodo too. I can't tether at all. Did you find a solution?
Thanks

Now I have no network connection.
I can make calls, receive calls but I cannot do anything that requires data.
Under my phone status I see
Mobile Network State
Disconnected
I have tried factory resetting, battery pulls, reflashing original firmware... I am at my wits end. Anything ANYTHING to try would be awesome.
Like is there a way to force the connection back on??
go into settings, open APN, and add your phone login information to use internet
I am an idiot. Sorry:
For anyone else on Bell, here are the settings:
Name: Bell Internet
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN type: Internet + mms
Authentication Type: none
can you mention how you got to open APN? I dont think i have that setting
Edit: your not the only idiot.. its under "wireless and network"-> mobile networks -> access point names
For better connection speeds, you might want to experiment with:
pda2.bell.ca (what iPhones are set to, I always see better speeds on this)
inet.bell.ca (which is the default APN on the Vibrant, and probably the least used across the network at the moment, speeds just a bit lower than pda2 in general, too close to call)
Then again, pda.bell.ca is reported to have problems tracking all your data usage, in your favour.
I finally got around to flashing CM10, but can't seem to get the 4G working. I get H+/3g data, but no 4g. I flashed the CM10 nightly from 10/2.
My IMEI is in tact, I know the modem I am using works correctly in this area.
Here if my APN information:
Code:
Name: ATT LTE
APN: pta

Has anyone else run into a similar problem?
I realized I had a similar problem on CM9 and found two things:
1) APN type: default,supl,mms,hipri
I added hipri to APN type (not 100% sure it was needed)
2) In mobile network settings I had not selected LTE in the Network Mode option list. (THIS was my problem) It's one of those, duh of course I have that set moments..when I really didn't. So double check that setting.

First of all...are you in an LTE area? When you were on an ATT rom did it say 4G LTE or just 4G?

I believe THIS was my problem. On ATT roms it would say 4G (I'm not in an LTE area) - apparently on CM roms this translates to H+. Looks like I never really had a problem at all.
Thanks! Consider this solved.
You shouldnt refere to to LTE/HSPA+ as 4G. Just name it by what it is. Much eqsier to identify what the problem area is.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
When it comes to CM ROMs HSPA+ will be identified by and "H" and LTE by a 4G

Change the following in your APN settings this resolved many 4g signal issues. I take no credit for this whatsoever. This was from another poster and I had these settings saved I just can't seem to find his post otherwise I would have linked it directly. If you happen to come across it be sure to hit the thanks button. If it really helped you donations wouldn't hurt for the original poster. Thank you. -

Have you actually ran speed test to confirm network speed?
Im actually having the same problem... Im using the infuse 4g with a cyanogen 4.2.1. Iunlocked my phone and am using a t-mobile sim (therefore, towers) and even though my phone is staying in one place the signal is going from E (econ, 2g) to 3g and H ( basically 3.5g) (back and forth) and never really stops...also the signal will be at full bars, then drop to no service and do it all over again.
Im obviously having service problems when i shouldnt and im not sure if im getting 4g at all even though i called and they said my plan was full-time 4g depending on coverage... OR..." H " is mobil's name for 4g (actually HSPDA + HSUPA which is technically considered 3.5).. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Galaxy S3 AT&T 16GB rooted but never use the root nor made modifications im running Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
Below is listed two APNs that I use to get strictly 3G/4G network because I want to save my battery on my AT&T Galaxy S3 running Jelly Bean 4.1.1. I don't want my phone looking for nor connecting to the LTE network. But I run into the problem of constently losing signal randomly while running on either of the 3G/4G APNs I have manually set. After I lose signal my phone reconnects within two minutes back on to the 3G/4G network which is what I want it to do. But I dont want to have the problem of constently losing signal. I never lose signal when I have my APN set to the orignal APN that came already set on my phone which is called "ATT Phone".
When I do lose signal its not like im in a poor signal area. I have an iPhone 4S aswell and I never lose signal while I do on the Galaxy S3. The iPhone is on AT&T as well.
I live in Plano TX which is an LTE area
Are there other APNs I can try for AT&T? Do I have something set wrong listed on the two APNs listed below?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

A APN isn't what you need. Use your regular LTE APN but set the network mode to GSM/WCDMA preferred.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news...but this happened to me not too long ago. AT&T did a diagnostic on my phone and the sim connector was screwy. I had to send it in for repairs.
How would I set that?

What's up guys.
Looking to buy the note 8.0 INTERNATIONAL (N5100) because I want phone abilities.
Is anyone using the N5100 on At&t?
Does it work well, are you able to use HSPA+?
I planned on getting the N5100, but does anyone know of a hack for making calls on the At&t variant?

I have an N5100 I sometimes put my AT&T SIM in.
For the most part, it works well. I did have one glitch where mobile data stopped working for some reason (phone calls and texts still went through). I had to do a factory reset to fix it, but this could be because I'm constantly swapping my SIM in and out.
I just learned today about AT&T's phone APN. The default APN that gets loaded by the SIM is the wap.cingular one, but if you use the phone APN, the data speeds are much faster. I believe I am seeing HSPA+ speeds (6946kbps).
