Unlocking doesn't apply to CDMA phones (Sprint version of the Optimus G), it's a GSM/SIM card thing. But dont quote me on that but I think you cant

but you can flash.
I flashed mine to Page Plus, which uses verizon towers. The basic steps I took are flashing a verizon prl(so i wouldn't get a roaming symbol all the time) which you probably won't have to do since Boost uses sprint. Then I activated my phone with page plus online, they sent me an email with my number and MIN. Then I programmed the phone from it's hidden menus (I followed a guide on how to find the SPC number then typed ##SPCNUMBERHERE# and it brought me to a programming menu where i could input my MDN (phone number) and MIN (number they gave me in email). Phone rebooted and I had talk and text working. I don't have data and mms working yet though.
Data and MMS u have to configure through APN.XML .... Change the mmsc: link to what ever page plus uses ....

VIA Chipset Repair. Everything you need can be found there. I have mine flashed to Boost mobile but have issues with data. Others have no problems. I believe it was because my donor phone was one that no one uses so ive had issues getting the necessary things off of it required. You will only get 3G as there is not LTE on Boost Mobile yet.
I bought and rooted my Galaxy S3 a few months ago. since then I have flashed several roms. When the jellybean update came along I flashed a stock rom so I could update to stock jellybean, after the update to jellybean i noticed that my phone signal kept cutting out. The meter would cycle from full bars down to no bars then back up again over and over. while this was happening I could not make or receive calls. Tuns out the problem is caused by the IMEI reading 0. I don't know when this actually happened weather before or after the update. I have been trying to figure out how to fix this, but I don't understand what little I have found on the internet. Can anyone help me?

Thanks for the link but I dont understand what they are talking about.
like: "Put phone into RMNET + DM + MODEM mode"
I have no idea what that is.
and this section: "Look in device manager under ports and serials you should see your phone there.
Now open QPST Configuration click on ports tab and then on Add new port button type in COM## where ## is the port number your phone is connected to."
Is this even english? I'm sorry but i'm a newbie and have no idea what im doing.

You are putting your phone into RMNET + DM + MODEM mode by using the Stock Dialer on a Stock ROM and entering the service code provided in the thread (*#7284#).
There are some good videos on YouTube of how to fix this and how make a back up in case it happens again. It a lot easier than it sounds.
Thanks

What's funny is my IMEI decided to implode itself after I flashed the 1/15 Cm build.. Fixed it and everything is up and running now, just never thought it would happen to me. The only thing I can think of for why this happened to me, was because I had just switched back to CWR from TWRP.. not sure if there is a connect, but seems plausible. Back to TWRP now.
I soft bricked my LS970 with FreeGee. I used this method = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624 to unbrick it but I used the wrong KDZ. Everything functions properly but I have no service (everything is was in Korean [managed to set the language to English] & the boot screen says u+ LTE). Is there anything I can do to get it back under Sprint? Or should I try getting another device? I bought it yesterday.

No you'd get signal, just no service. The imei is signed and stored in a database of valid imeis for a network. When you see imei certi fail, it means that that imei did not pass that test when it attempted to register with the network, and was thusly rejected.

So if a devices imei don't pass the test and is for instance rejected from say tmobile or att does it mean that you can't use the device on Gsm carrier such as straight talk, family mobile, etc? Is the device basically junk. Thanks In advance...

UPDATE* Well the status bar icon is different, no more spinning star for Sprint Spark. New icons and Samsung pay from I've noticed right away.
No more spinning spark icon is worth the entire update lol
Yeah no spark icon. What I find particularly hilarious though is that the Samsung pay app is installed, yet does absolutely squat.
Edit: feel I should add that this phone has never been rooted, so it's not Knox related either. Lol.

Can someone who has TRIPPED KNOX and taken this update, but is now 100% stock please go into Samsung Pay and see if it gives any sort of error message saying Knox is tripped?
Also, can someone please test the multitasking and have like 7-10 apps in memory and try switching between them? A screencast would be awesome too. Thanks!!

Yes, it connects on its own.
Download LTE Discovery from play store. I use the widget, and it tells me when I'm connected to TD-LTE which is band 41. Then I use the dial pad code to see if CA is enabled.
