Hello. I just moved to ICS, and I'm doing some modding in it.
There's one thing I don't like and that is the spacing/padding on the left and right side in some (most) menus.
Does anyone know how to remove this?
Let me illustrate with a mockup:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The left is how it is, and the right is how I'd like it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

It might be a value in dimens.xml from framework-res that you need to edit. I can't say for sure. Play around with the values and see what you get.
And, how did you got it removed on the second screenshot? may I ask

One would think that would be self explanatory. I used Photoshop.

Well, it may be for some but not for me. Nice photoshop skills you have there. Back on topic, that has just happened to me once and was because I moved the DPIs to a lower value, but it seems it has nothing to do with your problem ~

Hi, I know the Hero wallpapers and themes are all the rage, but I was wondering if anyone could attach here a copy of the original, blue sea-scape that comes with the Magic? You know, this one

I was afraid of that.
Here you are...
Now enjoy!
I know it doesn't "exist" but I'm kinda surprised nobody has come up with a wallpaper similar to the penguin one in the mytouch ad. I was actually disappointed when I got my phone and it wasn't there.
pretty weak of tmobile to represent features that dont exist ( and to so significantly reduce the amount of ram in an otherwise wonderful device)

The correct resolution for the Sapphire is 320x480, your picture is 582x436
It's possible to get the picture with correct size from a package ROM? I have this picture on Amon_RA ROM

This is a really neat tool below to extract wallpapers, icons and all kinds of other things depending on which option you choose.
Won't work on most hero updates.

I was trying to create small font (hate big letters) and I got it, but there is one problem. If you check picture you will see that text is kind of up and down - not straight (kind like a wave - see image below). Why and how to fix this? Btw if someone wants to try I am including flashable zip below
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Not saying you shouldnt create your own cause thats cool but HERE is a list of over 300 flashable fonts. If you havent got your working yet, id check it out. Ill take a look at yours though and see if I can figure it out.
Thank I know about those, but like I said, I want something small
Ok, I got it. For all people here who love smaller font just like me here is it.
I am including printshots soo you can see how does it look like. Hope someone will like it...
Enjoy !
Great! Looks good toh and I like your wallpaper! If you don't mind me asking, what was the problem and how was it fixed?
I believe font file was bad. Get tired od playing with same file and decide to re-download same font but from other source and worked. Here is my wallpaper attached for you

Ok I am expecting feedback going to sleep now need to get up early... Night.
After playing around a little bit here are my pros n cons:
Pros:
Allows App names with longer names to appear without being cutoff
very clean and legible
lets you see more of the characters of text you are typing
cons:
can make browsing a little more difficult to select links since more zooming is required at times.
if someone has bad eye sight then I wouldn't recommend it
Overall nice font pack! Can really grow to like it. But will probably stick with comfortaa
This is pretty awesome on the regular SGSII
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107095
Could it be ported to our phones? (Specifically Starburst ROM)
Seems like it would be simple because theyre just icons, but would be appreciated
It's really not that hard to do. They're in framework_res. Not being a smartass but why not give it a try yourself? We all have to learn somewhere and this is a good, easy thing to do. Then you won't be relying on others and can make your phone "yours".
FYI: I liked the "bubble" battery in another theme thread and made it work for me.

Glad to hear it. If you got that to work you can edit many other things in Settings.apk or SystemUI.apk as well. They each have a _res folder. Just don't mess with any art that ends with ".9.png". These are art files that require a special editing (you can search xda and find many methods). Failure to do them right and you'll bootloop. Also, keep in mind sizes. Look at the size of something you want to change in the "stock" file and make yours the same. Have fun!

What does that mean? Do you want me to move the blue logo in horizontal direction so it fits on screen?
Edit: Probably understood your problem. The blue logo is slightly bigger so does not fir on the screen. Let me work on it.

Perfect thank you!
gimp is a free opensource program that would allow you to do this sort of thing by yourself next time if you want to give it a shot its really not to difficult. It runs on windows and linux and i think osx, its worth a shot to try yourself.
* edit * just realized you did the inverted apps, you probably knew that lol, sorry.

Hi,
I'm curious if other Folds' have the same problem as mine.
I think this is only happening from the latest uldate, I am now on Android10, 4.14.117-18521059 kernel (apr 24).
The problem is that menu items are not rendered into one line ie in Settings:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have set the smallest available font:
Is this screen looks the same on your Fold, guys?
I dont understand the problem im on May patch android 10 and using nova and on the 4th dot font size
Hi, I took a screenshot from a different Galaxy phone (not Fold), and all the items are rendered next to the switches:
Ps: I'm not using any launchers or mods, everything is stock.
If someone has Fold, could you please post a reply with a screenshot of connection (or any other) settings took of the outer screen?
Thank you!
