Samsung Galaxy S2X Telus (aka Hercules) - unlock issue

I just bought a refreshed s2x from telus. when i put *#simlock#, it says network lock is OFF.
However, if i pop in rogers sim card or its partners, it says insert sim it asks for network lock control key. No pad lock..just the code text box, unlock or dismiss.
is my phone unlocked already by previous buyer?
is he failed several times, therefore it requires a freeze code?
there will be no refunds from the unlock code sellers, if the network code is unsuccessful. refunds only for wrong code error.
thank you!
Problem solved..worked with the unlock code..not to worry about network lock OFF.

[Q] ATT phone sim

Hi is there any way for me to pop the Sim from my AT&T phone into my nexus 7 LTE to use my data? Thank you in advance.
Nope. I tried and didn't work.

will i be able to use a T-Mobile phone on AT&T network if i install AT&T firmware?

will i be able to use a T-Mobile phone on AT&T network if i install AT&T firmware?
i have a T-Mobile galaxy edge and want to use it on AT&T network and i was just wondering if i change the firmware will i be able to then use it on the AT&T mobile network?? or if anyone knows how i can do this please let me know how, from what i've learned the lock is due to a certain permission needed from the IMEI, i was also wondering if it can work by changing the IMEI??

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
In short, no and no. A SIM lock is due to something different. A firmware change from one carrier to another (in my experience) will not only not affect the SIM lock, but it can be disastrous for the phone. Changing the IMEI also has it's consequences.
I am connecting you to the forum your device experts can be found (T-Mo Galaxy Edge Q&A):
> T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge > T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
The experts will likely have some suggestions on how to SIM unlock.
Please note, to respond to replies, you will need to register for an XDA account.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Previously unlocked phone now says "Network Locked" when using new sim card

Hi everyone!
I just signed up for Public Mobile service. I have a LG G3 D852 which is unlocked. It was on Telus initially, and most recently with Rogers.
Now, when I inserted the PM sim, it says "Network Locked"
I even bought an unlock code but it doesn't work.
So how is this possible? An unlocked phone can get locked again by a sim card? I tried using another active Telus SIM card and get the same message.
Is there a way to get around this?
Thanks!
A quick google search shows that SIM cards can be locked, for which you evidently need a Personal Unblocking Key or PUK.

I don't think this is a SIM-lock problem. The SIM doesn't ask for a personal pin to use the phone.
It looks like a carrier lock issue where the carrier has somehow locked the phone again after it was unlocked in the past.

Hi,
As far as I know, Public Mobile, which was bought by Telus, doesn't work on LG handsets. I'm not 100% sure about this, since it's a bit weird, but you might as well contact them regarding this issue.

No, most any handset with supported gsm bands will work on Public Mobile.
So anyway, ended up flashing stock and unlocked the phone. And then back to Fulmics.
All good now
