Major problem. If someone tries to call me, all they get is silence on their end. It doesn't even ring. Obviously my phone wont physically ring either. I am not sure whether it is related to my rom either. I am on the jellyverse rom and do not think I have changed anything before getting the problem. I called sprint and they tried resetting on their end a few times but it wasn't helping any. They told me they would send someone to the tower, but that cant be the problem since it is happening everywhere I am. They then told me to take my phone to the sprint store to have it checked out, and ultimately I might have to have phone replaced. The other thing that isnt working is if i physically call voicemail by holding the 1 button on the keypad. This is probably a related problem. Everything else seems to be working. I can make all other outgoing calls besides vmail. Data/email works. Text messaging seems to be working fine. Can anyone in this great epic touch community help?

Did you delete anything sound related. Happened to me when I deleted DSP manager while I was flashing sound mods. I deleted dapanager and had no sound of any kind what so ever
Not that I know of. I dont think I explained it clearly enough.
Someone will try to call me. They dial my number. Put their phone up to their ear. And they hear nothing. No ringing, no dial tone, no busy signal. Nothing.
On my side. I dont hear anything either. No incoming call ring. No missed.
I just messed with google voice settings to see if if that might be the problem. I unclicked my phone from the call forwarding list. Now I can call voicemail, but still no incoming calls.

Similar thing happens to me from time to time... My wife will text me wondering why I don't answer the phone. "Well... It didn't ring". Then shortly after, I get A VM notification. No idea what the issue is and sprint is worthless to fix it. That's why I am force roaming my a** off to have them kick me so I don't have to pay the ETF. Switching to AT&T as soon as they send me the termination letter.

Well gray I hope you get out without an etf. A couple friends of mine recieved a letter then they were called a couple months after. Etf due. They are being given the run around by sprint. I can guarentee sprint wont get the money from them. Although doing that leaves bad marls on your credit report. Goodluck man:beer:

They can't legally do that if they kick you because of roaming. Most of the time, a person doesn't even know they are roaming or can't help it.

I cannot make calls but I can make calls with my EVO, but I can receive them. What is going on??????????? It worked earlier today and all of the sudden it just stopped!
I am also going through the same thing. I was able to make calls earlier today but now I can't. I do receive calls. Anyone else also experiencing this. Im using the Synergy rc1 supersonic rom. What rom are you using?
Are you getting any sort of error code when you try to call?
No just no dial tone. it hangs up after 20 seconds followed by beeps.
Seems like there are maj network errors going on. I had a ton of network busy errors, trying to make calls this week, and my buddy, with Verizon has had the same problem.
I would say this is probably a service issue. I am not rooted and the same thing is happening to me. I can receive calls, but not place calls. Just started happening this evening about 6:00ish. At least that's when I noticed it.

I think you are right. The google voice - sprint integration is the problem. I disable it and now it work perfectly. Thanks!
Yeah I had the same issue today, I called sprint and they killed the Google voice on there end and problem solved.
I don't have G voice, but still had the call problems

I am having the exact same issue, and it began sometime this last evening, about 7-9 hours ago. I have had Google Voice, but after upgrading from Hero to Evo on Wednesday, Google Voice can't locate my Sprint number to integrate it on the Evo, and so I cannot disable it, either, which prevents me from working the "easy" fix by removing it.
I did have a rooted Hero when I got GV, but I've yet to root the Evo, hoping Gingerbread keeps it running okay on stock. But this issue is persisting, and it doesn't matter to me if it's GV related or not, I don't want to have to send the device back.
I did call tech support, and did soft/hard resets and they refreshed the device and tier 2 tech resent services and it seemed fixed for 5 seconds, then went right back to the "20-sec dead air before fast busy signal" issue. I even work for Sprint and am having this issue! I've never seen anything like it, and I've been in Sales Support for a good while. I'd ideally like to use GV, but if it's gonna be like this, no thanks.
Other than disabling GV (as I cannot at the moment), any other suggestions?
P.S. - Hi, new to the forums, thanks very much for any help!!

Go to your google account on your computer, then to Google voice and in options, you can turn it off
GV is working again for those interested.

I had this exact issue and resolution. Turn off G Voice integration, call Sprint to turn it off if you need to.
is this some sprint thing or something? i just switched from tmobile yesterday. everything is good except this is pretty annoying. when i get a call i slide the green answer tab then i hear some lady say "you have a call from ___ press 1 to accept". how do i just answer by sliding the green tab and not pushing 1 after?
Do you have google voice?.. that's what happened to me when I used it..

i did have google voice but i deleted it because i thought it was the problem. i only use it for voicemail so it's no big deal. but it's still there.
H aha if only you could be me for a day, that crap gets so annoying. so I have a Nexus S 4G on Sprint and Bionic on Verizon. I installed Google Voice on my NS and didn't even go through the setup. I mean I have a number and account because I used to use Voice on my Eris. Anyways I installed, never opened the app and was having to press one to answer a call as well. Here is where life gets weird, every call I get on my Sprint phonE, my Verizon.Bionic rings as well and I can answer either phone for the exacT same phone call. Note that I havE never even installed Voice on my bionic. I'm sure I could easily fix it and Im pretty sure I know how without having to browse around but I am kind of having fun with it. I never know which of three phone numbers is calling/messaging it flip flops on me. Major issues lmao

You have to log in to your g-voice account and disable it there..

yup, i figured it out. thanks, i guess i could have tried that first.
lemonoid go onto your google account and go into voice, it's all right there.
Yea I figured Im just too lazy to do it right now but thanks for confirming it. I guess you could go into the app and change it to where it never uses voice or either it just asks for each call

There is a setting in google voice which you can disable... n you will no longer have to press 1 to accept ..
I dont know is above answers were on how to disable GV on phone, or how to change this exact setting
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
u have to go on ur computer to ur google voice site....in the settings some where is call acceptance
After its disabled make sure your voice mail works. 2 of my phones lost VM after getting rid of GV and the only way to get it back was through Sprint CS

Lol. That's Google voice working precisely as intended. Though it's a little surprising since, as far as I know, you have to set up forwarding numbers at voice.Google.Com ... Though I guess just installing the app might do that automatically.
Lol.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, Someone called my phone about 3-4 times but it never rang. Thenmy phone does ring and they say I called them, when it was my phone that just rang and I answered, I didnt make any call. Both of our phones somehow automatically called each other. My call log shows an incoming call from that person, and their phone shows an incoming call from me at exactly the same time. Anyone know the reason why?
Lol someone probably prank called you using the application evil operator. It connects two phones and you can record the conversation. It's quite a nice app.

Are you on stock? I know with AOKP you have to change the sounds, default is silent ringtones.

For those who have their Sprint number integrated with Google Voice, have you experienced any issues with not receiving calls? Sometimes, I'll receive a missed call notification in Google Voice but my phone never rings. Tried testing it by calling from my landline and it goes straight to voice mail saying, "the Google Voice subscriber you have called is not available."
It doesn't happen all the time but enough that's it's an annoyance.
Call Sprint and have them reprovision you. I've had this happen before and that usually fixes it.

Thanks...I'll give them a call.
Does using Google voice use any minutes from the land line plan, or is it totally free to use.

If you integrate your Sprint number with your Google Voice account then yes it does use your minutes.
I have this problem as well, going to call sprint
from a galaxy, far, far away.
So I called and had my phone reprovisioned but I still missed a call without it ever ringing. I'm thinking this might simply be a problem with the Google Voice servers getting overloaded at times.

For anyone who still has their Sprint number integrated with Google Voice, are you guys still experiencing problems like this? I'm thinking about integrating them again but not if these issues are still persisting.
On rare occasions I have experienced this, but usually it works just fine. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that GV will only ring your number for about 30 seconds, and sometimes it takes the towers longer than that to find you. I've had my actual phone ring for only about 5 seconds before. It would be nice if GV let you set the timeout...

I experienced the same problem . missed calls and delayed texts . I deleted Google voice and went with YouMail and so far I haven't missed calls or texts that I know of. I tried to use sprint voicemail it kept giving me a busy signal no matter what I did .

The thing I miss most about Google Voice is the ability to text from my computer without my phone having any sort of data or wifi connection. I've tried DeskSMS, MightyText and mySMS but they all require your phone to be connected to the internet for the texts to go through. So if your phone is off or in deep sleep without wifi or data, the texts don't go through. The missed calls thing with Google Voice was a deal breaker though.
Still happening to me and my wife (one android one iPhone). Getting real frustrating. In addition, we are also experiencing an ability to place a call, needing to try mutliple times before the call will go through.
Seems to happen most often when calling from one Gvoice number to the other.
This is with Sprint Integration.
We are struggling between living with this and missing out on all the Gvoice features if we drop it.

Mine is working great and has ever since I started using GV. There are times where a missed call notice will show up without hearing the phone ring, but I suspect that's just Sprint. Doesn't happen anymore now than it ever did. At least I get notified quickly.
Same issues here. I noticed it only happens from people who aren't in my contact list. As soon as I add them, all their calls and messages get through. I had GV integration, but not anymore.
Could this be an issue with CM 10.1? The reason I'm asking this is that all the missed texts show up in mighty text on my notebook.
Just like the title states... My note just all of a sudden last night stated giving me a bust signal any time I try to call out. Every time... Tried different roms and kernels. No avail. All incoming calls work and all data and text messages also work. I can also use VoIP but no outgoing calls... Anyone have ANY IDEAS?

Try ##72786# and see if it fixes it. Maybe they're doing something with the profiles?
Not only did that not work but it made my phone start force closing. ..haha. switched over to aTW based rom... same thing. But oddly enough if I call someone from contacts I get a busy signal. If I search Google and click a"call" link to say, a business. .. It goes right through.

Here's even more Bull****... can't call my wife's Verizon number without a busy signal but I can call her Google voice number on the same phone and it connects... my good friends number won't connect but my mother does.
This is irking me badly.

what the hell is the magical hands free activation number and where have you been the last 3 days. I recently tried to port a rom from the n7100 with semi success. Sick of all the fc's i restored a backup. But my data would not work. On a whim i went through all the q and a's with data issues and low and behold i found this. this worked perfectly. :Can you explain to me what this dialer code does?
Please tell me that rom is Slim Rom...
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
What is sounds like, when you were doing a call out, GV was trying to call itself, and then call the number you were actually wanting to call. Google Voice without the integration can be access anytime. Basically, you call the number, then you can call number you want.
I like GV, but I don't like GV integration on the Sprint phones. When I had it on, I have to approve every single incoming call by hitting 1 (or something). Not exactly good while driving.
If you go GV through a web browser, you can disable the integration. Then it's just another app. But can still be used for voice mail. The people just have to wait for extra rings before access vm.

It re provisions your network authentication. Essentially it reactivates your phone on the network, refreshing the auth keys so your device and the network can communicate again.
