I picked up my galaxy nexus the other day. I looked at my internal storage, and noticed that I had 30 GB of memory left. I thought that the 32 GB LTE version was discontinued. Anyone else recently get a GNEX and get a 32 GB LTE version recently?

2GB is used for Android OS / partition / etc...
It's like when you buy a hard drive / flash drive.... it retails as 8GB/16GB/32GB/64GB... but it's not the full size.
your phone is proper.
No.
...of the people, by the people, for the people...
I think the OP is saying that he expected to get a 16GB unit and wound up with a 32GB one instead
I bought mine yesterday and have 32gb of storage.

I went into my Verizon store to upgrade to one of these today and they said they no longer carry the phone, at all. I guess it was a problematic phone? It makes me angry since now the only option I have left is the Razr... meh.

They still carry it. Your local store may not, but they do in general still carry it.
You can order it online as well.

Are they VZW Corporate stores, or 3rd party retailers?
If its a REAL Verizon store, they're basically forced to carry it.

Last i checked (vz site and samsung), there is no 16gb vzw gnex. There were rumors about a white 16 back in march/april around when the droid 3 was released, but only 32 on vz.
If Samsung put in
32gb on GSM version or 16gb with microSD slot......
I would of definitely would of picked up one with 32gb or SD card slot..

I only miss the SD card because I have several Android devices and I'd like to be able to take one out and put it another one in for purposes such as music, etc.
32gb would have been nice so I could keep more than 2 roms backed up at once on my galaxy nexus plus allow for all my games, apps an music, 16 gb really doesn't go that far for me, I find myself uninstalling a lot of stuff an keeping apps an games backed up with titanium backup so I can easily get it back quickly if I need to so I have storage space.

Free "Thanks" I did not mean to thank you.
But anyway, I have like 10 back ups + music + HQ movies. I honestly don't see a difference in sells if Google were to add additional storage to this phone.

I totally agree that I'd have liked to see a 32GB option and/or a slot for a microSDXC card, like the Galaxy SIII has. I don't want to depend on cloud storage for my music files. And I'd rather use my own music app rather than the Google Play music player. A 64GB microSDXC card in the GN would be perfect.
As it is, I bought a 64GB flash drive that I mount on my GN via USB OTG and Stickmount. Not ideal, but it works.

Would of?
What the hell does that mean?
Would've, while sounding like "would of" is in fact short for "would have"
Together the two words show timing and intent, but could be used apart:
I would buy.
I have bought.
But the same is not true of your use of the word "of."
I of bought.
Simple mistake based on tricks our ears play on us.
No offense intended.

Well states wise, how much they would have sold, if Google had a unified launch of launch product. as i remember the release date from Verizon was foggy at best. Then they offered no way buying in the stateside besides Ebay/Amazon, till whatever exclusivity deal expired with Verizon. Then Google finally offered directly and Sprint got the phone.
I could only imgine that this phone would have sold well, if it had any amount of marketing, and unified launch besides one carrier in the states

You really think it would have sold any more units with 32GB storage? I find that hard to believe. If you choose your phone based on 16GB vs 32GB storage, and are willing to give up having a Nexus because of it, you clearly don't get it. I still have yet to understand why anyone would need that much storage.
And MicroSD sucks. Partitions and UMS are just a pain in the ass. Don't expect Google to ever use them again in a Nexus device.
Am highly considering getting a Nexus 7 to go along with my GSM galaxy nexus. the attractive price point, Specs, and size are what make me want the device. Have a OG transformer that ill give to my little sis with a keyboard and i replace that with this. Anyone have any objections to getting this bad boy? Only gripe i have is that it only goes up to 16GB! That and after using it for a while, my Gnex might feel small to me.
I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and order one $200 seems like a pretty awesome deal

just did for the 16 gb model.
Yup, ordered the Nexus 7 16 GB. I was planning on getting a Motorola Xoom (Currys were selling them for £130 but it turned out they were just lying about having them) so this seems a good substitute.
I'll be getting one. Have an A100 at the moment as I prefer the 7" tablet size but there is no dev scene on that thing and what can beat the dev scene of a nexus device?
Yep. Probably gonna get the 16 gig one in maybe month or so.

I am toying with the idea but I just sold my CM9'd touchpad due to lack of use because my GNex is serving me so well. Perhaps as a hack toy but that's why I bought the Touchpad.
Every nerd needs a hack toy...
Don't see the point, for me.
I have the iPad 3 and a Galaxy Nexus, and both are serving me good for what they do. The Nexus 7 just seems to be a Galaxy Nexus with a faster CPU and a bigger screen... It doesn't replace my iPad and doesn't do more than my Galaxy Nexus.
I am still not sold with the phone interface on 7" tablet.
And 16GB is too small ... without Micro SD card for tablet.
Looks like a nice bit of kit, but'll stick to my Xoom
I'm more anxious about getting jellybean on it than my nexus for the vsync

Well after honestly thinking about it, i'm going to cancel my order in the morning. I seriously thought about it and i came to the conclusion that me having a gnex will ruin my experience. Honestly it will literally be our phone which is 16gb without any removable storage with a 7inch screen and some better specs running Jellybean that looks like it's in phone mode.. unless there are some features or value that i'm not seeing, pre-order remorse got the better of me.
I am, I am tired of my a500. Wi-Fi sucks and a teen inch tablet is not as comfortable as seven inch is

It always sucks that Google doesn't release a CDMA version as well on their site. Verizon is starting to bug the puss out of me with their network pricing and lack of phones.

Even if they did (which they won't) you'd still need to get the ESN recognized by your carrier (which they won't).

Price's low? A 16GB microSD is about $15... 32GB is about $25. I find it ridiculous that they only give is 8GB... I mean come on... my toaster could hold more than that... (my Droid X2, a few years old phone is 8GB... and at least has a external SD slot)

Hello guy's! I currently have the G2x but I want to change it because I have a lot of problems with it. I was wondering if the Galaxy Nexus is still a good choice because it is only 280$ (approx.) on swappa and it would fit my budget. I have no problems buying an used device. If the galaxy nexus isn't a good idea, can you guy's recommend me something else?
(PS: Is there a way I can buy a new (in the box) GNex?)
I bounce back and forth between my GNex and HTC One S (cost $300).
I like the Nexus better. Bigger screen, pure android, huge development community, removable battery... However, it is a couple years old. Have you thought about the Nexus 4. Not much more cash and definitely a better phone. I bought one for my wife as a gift. It beats the GNex in all categories and you can get an 8 gig for 300.

I listen to a lot of music, and even 16gb wouldn't be enough for all the stuff I have. I would save more money and buy a nexus4 (32gb) or a phone with a external sd card

If you need SD I would say maybe look for a GS3. I would love an SD slot on my nexus devices but I'm personally willing to give up that feature for the nexus experience. Since I also have a nexus 7 that I use for movies music and more serious gaming my 16GB gsm nexus works fine for me with about 6GBs free.

My main issues:
- terrible battery life: LTE really drains it
- hard to hold on to 4G reception: in many parts of LA, I notice my phone switching to 3G and back, sometimes dropping the data connection completely (this probably is Verizon's fault, though; YMMV in other areas)
- Verizon doesn't update as frequently as GSM carriers
Other than those, it's been great, but the data connection thing really kills me. I'm guessing once LTE is rolled out completely, it shouldn't be an issue anymore. That being said, I think I'm going to jump ship once the next Nexus comes out!
