I made a DashClock Extension to display the live signal strength for your Android phone on your DashClock! Get the default android signal strength from the status bar to display in DashClock!
[The drawables are inspired directly from the stock N4 status bar so you get a stock feel :cyclops:]
Displays signal strength along:
-Airplane Mode
-LTE
-HSPA+
-3G
-Edge
-No service
Extremely useful for those of you that are using custom ROM with PIE or hidden status bar. :highfive:

Hello,
I just installed the newest stable official CM 10.1 build on my note 2 (full wipe).
I set up all APNs correctly and can surf the internet however I want. But what really bugs me is, that the indicator for cellular data is missing (H for HDSPA, 3G, etc).
I am using a data only sim card, which, as the name says, can only use data. I can not call with it and have therefore the 'only emergency calls' thingie and a 0 on the signal strength. That's normal. On other ROMs the small data indicator worked fine anyway and completely independent from the strength indicator.

Any suggestions in how to fix this?
Hello, i just updated my mother's T2 dual to lollipop. I noticed this little key icon on the top right corner of notif. shade, which i think there's should be signal icons on it. Does anybody know what's that meant? And how to get rid of it?
Here's the pic of it

meaning of that icon is that, your device network is being monitored,
some app(s), like firewall, antivirus, or something, is controlling device network.
click image to enlarge
scroll down & check communication section in Source link all LP icons meanings by Google.
It is possible to see the actual speed of network in the statusbar like in the screenshot below.
It seems that the EU version of nova hasn't enabled this feature.

Usually we can find it under settings -> notification panel & status bar.
EU users could enable this feature by changing the keyword in the following line from 'true' to 'false' (root needed).
Change entry of file /cust/hw/eu/prop/local.prop:
from
ro.config.hw_hideNetworkSpeed=true
to
ro.config.hw_hideNetworkSpeed=false
That's it. After reboot there will be the switch shown in the picture above [emoji106]
