I've given up trying to disable this stupid thing. I rooted my phone, if I use titanium back up to uninstall all at&t apps including this annoying phone book, will it cause any issues to the phone?
It will probably balk at any future updates but little else that I can see.

I heard that the phone apk will stop working if you remove the address book. The app will stop working for the phone. Did anyone remove the address book completely?
Just back it up and remove. If it doesnt work right just restore.
I have done it before on LG Optimus 3d from at&t. Stupid at&t adress book is link into the contacs apk. So after i delete the adress book. I was not able to access the stock contac app. So i was using go contacs ex.
So this time i did not bother to remove it. Leason learn. But i know how anoying it is.

I didn't backup mine after I removed it and not my VVM doesn't work. Must be tied in together. Everything else does.
I just froze it using ROM toolbox and it worked perfectly.

Hi everyone
I'm trying to remove the T-mobile name ID application from stock
I don't have it, as an option on Bloater from Jugernaut ROM
Can someone advice
Removing without cause future issues.
It is just annoying cause it expired and just shows notifications of that.
Thanks in advance
i just uninstalled mine via titanium backup

You can freeze it or uninstall it completely using Titanium Backup.
You can't remove it if you are in the stock ROM without rooting. After you rooting and installing superuser, you can use the above mentioned methods or simply use a root explorer to navigate to the .apk in system/app and deleting it
hes on jugs rom

so there would be no future issues?
Freeze it with titanium to ensure no future problems. You can always unfreeze it later. Perfect fix. It takes it out of the app drawer and you have piece of mind. Btw it was my first freeze with titanium. I like mybackupro. But I did it the freeze way cause I read removing it on some phones f____ up conference calling, etc.

I live in Europe, so not using T-mobile, however, my phone is rooted and debloated but I still have this annoying service from t-mobile that tries to backup my contacts. Is there any way to disable this. I have tried removing this from my Accounts and sync, however could not even following data wipe. Is there a workaround this?
You should be able to go to Settings -> Accounts and Sync to disable the automatic backup.
Sync is disabled, still I have the process running form time to time

Or just remove it. Useless service. Google backs up our contacts.

I had the same problem. I moved to the Cayman Islands and brought my SGSII with me (unlocked it with the code from tmo customer service).
Even though I was on a different carrier with a different sim card and turned off the sync for that it would still pop up frequently in my notifications bar.
I decided to root my phone and install a custom rom ( went with Juggernaut V4.1 which is awesome). I also used the bloater to remove all tmobile apps. This did the trick.
Not sure if there is a different way but this worked for me, hope it helps.
Good Morning.
Since yesterday I've noticed, that an app called "sCloudStarter" was installed automatically into user apps.
I can't uninstall it, and there is also a process running.
I can't find any information about this in the internet.
Is here someone, who knows what this app is or does?
Antivirus does also nothing find when I scan my phone.
It's annoying, when apps are installed automatically without knowledge of the user.
Do you think it's harmless or is it a bad virus app?
I did nothing change in my system before.
I also made a full wipe, and after configuring my device with the new fresh system, this sCloudstarter was installed again.
Please, hopefully someone can help me or can give me an answer about this.
it's a Samsung system app related to S-cloud. This is like Google drive. You ha ave to be root to uninstall it.

I'm rooted, but when I uninstall it, it is back in the next second.
It's not possible to delete it.
But I'm wondering, why it was installed automatically without any message?
That's bad from Samsung.
Do This -
I was frustrated with this annoying problem for hours before I did this - download an uninstaller that can identify an app named "Samsung Account" - followed by a long decimal number. Run it and delete Samsung Account first, then SCloudStarter, and hopefully that will work for you as it did for me.
Yeah there was a update which installs this app like a user app.

This means, that it is not a virus or something similar?
Therefor I leave it as it is.
But it's annoying, when such apps, with NO information, are installed automatically.
Thanks for your answers.
No no.
It's just the Samsung app.
The Samsung push service installed an app.

Like the other post said, you can use an app called Titanium Backup to freeze apps, and delete them. This one should be no exception. Freezing apps would be recommended first, as you can then see how the phone reacts when you disable an app. You can always delete later, but I still would recommend just freezing. Even with a 16 GB device, you won't gain that much space by deleting these apps that who knows if you may need later.
That works

If your phone is rooted, there is an app called TitaniumBackup in the Play Store. TitaniumBackup can freeze apps and the frozen app no longer runs on your phone or shows up in your app drawer. TitaniumBackup is the first app that in my opinion needs to be installed on a rooted phone. It's the best app that I've ever paid for, followed closely by Root Explorer.
It's also a good idea that before deleting an app you should ALWAYS have TitaniumBackup backup the app first. This way if your phone starts to act really weird, you can go into TB and restore the app.
It looks noxious
I had a look at the permissions for this in its App Info area,
...
* Your Personal Information
add or modify calendar events and send emails to guests without owner's knowledge, modify your contacts, read calendar events plus confidential information, read call log, read your contacts, read your Web bookmarks and history, write call log, write web bookmarks and history
...
OMG! It astually lists "send emails to guests without owner's knowledge" like that's nothing to be alarmed about! In fact, most of what is listed there is setting off alarm bells to me.

There is an app titles Titanium Backup that you can use with root. (highly recomended btw). This lets you uninstall bloatware, freeze apps (basically hides them and keeps them from running but keeps them on the phone), backup apps and data so if you have to reinstall or switch phones you can restore them without having to set them up again. Freezing also lets you stop the app which makes you provision and pay extra to tether your phone so you can activate it without paying extra.
It is a must have app imho for rooted users and I highly recomend the pro version. (you can only freeze with pro)
Hi everyone!
Can we make a list of all the bloatware that we can safely remove / Titanium freeze without ruin your OGP.
I've stopped this with the Task Manager
- AT&T Messages
- myAT&T
- YPmobile
Thanks!

You can delete some of them directly from your app drawer. Just open your app drawer hit the plus/minus sign in the top right corner and delete. I froze the rest of mine with titanium.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??

Thanks for the reply.
I did that, but the real reason is the upcoming roms that people will custom and I think they gonna need this info for cleaning/debloating them and stuff.
=)
You won't ruin your phone, you will just have to find the stock ROM (on one of the threads here) and flash it back with LGFlash tool. The obvious ones to remove would be anything AT&T Related using Root Uninstaller if rooted. Also any obvious apps that are preinstalled such as Polaris and Kindle can be removed if chosen too. I also removed all Tests (Bluetooth Test, Wifi Test, etc) Its pretty simple to know what to remove and not to.

I've had issues with those apps and I dint know why. Whenever I removed the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi test apps, my phone freezes for 5-10 minutes on boot. Whenever I put them back, its fine again.
Happened on the original firmware and the new one. I've went all the way back to stock too.

Freezing apps with Titanium has worked great for me... for what its worth
What is everyone using to back up and restore apps and app data? Ive used Titanium in the past but always had some type of issue when restoring data so I stopped restoring altogether and I have been reinstalling all my apps through the Playstore. I also have Rom Tool Box installed but have not tried it to restore yet.
Is there an app out there that works great restoring apps and data and if so which one. Thanks

Ever since I bought N3, TiB never worked for me, at least scheduled backup didn't. It takes less then 10 seconds for it finish backing up apps with new data, and when I sort by new backups, I see most apps where not backed up at all.
I've sent several emails to developers, but it's like sending it to a black hole, no responses.
It's a shame really, as TiB used to be the best.
Hellium is a good alternative too, especially if you are planning not doing root for a while, but it fails to backup/restore a lot too.

Thanks guys gonna try MBUP tonight and see how it does. I never had any luck restoring data.
Has anyone restored their app and data from 4.3 to KK yet? If so was it ok or did you have to do anything different?
Reason I ask is because going from 4.1.2 to 4.3 I and many or all others I should say had an issue woth TIBU and the TIBU restore app was created.

Did you back them up with anything? Also why isnt the playstore showing your apps thats strange unless yoir not signed in to your Google account. It has to be that.
